The Disciple of The Ninja [Mission][Henrex]
Fri Sep 15, 2017 11:02 pm
It was late morning and the light of sun shone bright over the royal Shihōn family grave, illuminating all of the tomb stones that were planted deeply in the earth. Each and every tomb stone held the name of prominent members of the soul society's royal families. They helped the shaped the soul society and many things that were in it, they were also people who had loved ones that visited them whenever they could. Two particular tomb stone's shadow covered a rather short looking individual who spoke to them. "I miss you guys a lot, it's weird without you bothering my science experiments all the time the sullen voice of a young man said as he looked upon the graves with sad eyes. The young man was Leviathan Shihōn and he was visiting the graves of his parents who had died during a hollow attack over a year ago. He had only recently started to appear at the graves of his parents a few months ago, avoiding them as hecould not accept the reality that they had actually died. His outwards demeanor had remained the same, apathetic, to the outside world including his closest friends but behind closed doors he was a mess. Leviathan never knew how much he had neglected them until they had gone and died.
"I plan on making you guys proud by taking my Shinigami duties more serious, I think it's only fair to you guys. He said as a single tear fell from his eyes as he rose from his knees to his feet. Every since that he stated coming here, he decided that more and more of his time would be dedicated towards training. Leviathan would actually be on the way to a training session as soon as he left the graveyard, which had to be soon so that he wouldn't keep his teacher waiting. Leviathan knew that it was a bit hard for him to learn something from another person but it was needed if he wished to fulfill his parents dream of him being a powerful shinigami. "I actually have to go, I'll stop by later mom and dad He said sadly as fake happy smile covered his face before he sped off at max speed, disappearing faster than most shinigami using shunpo could. The young shinigami didn't want his tutor to have to wait on him, especially if he was the one who looked for him. His tutors name was Henrex and he would be teaching something very interesting to Leviathan, something that would further his newly found goal to get stronger. So that he would have more room to move and would not be constricted, Leviathan decided to wear the typical shinigami uniform with his zanpakuto still strapped to his back. He sped through the soul society and began to look for Henrex in the area they agreed to meet. Leviathan had heard stories of how powerful this man was, it wasn't everyday that he met someone that was probably captain class or above, he would definitely be able to do something with his young slacker self.

This was something new.
Henrex was not normally one to follow, or observe others -- even from a distance. But, with someone who he had never met before, a Shihoin at that, curiosity grew too large for him to resist. So, donning the Garb of Tsukuyomi, and diving into the shadows, Henrex observed the young Shihoin, his spiritual pressure hidden, along with the physical masking of his body, leaving him invisible. What he discovered was...reflecting. Visiting the grave of the family that had longed since passed, giving them their respects. Henrex's eyes closed, and a melancholic sigh came from him, knowing that the emotions that Leviathan felt were ones that he was able to resonate with.
As he watched the boy speak to the headstones, a faint smile came across his face as he remembered the times when his Zanpakuto's inner world had reflected a graveyard, and he had spent times speaking to the parted souls of his own siblings, parents, and other who had been close to him at the time. A good portion of them were just missing, which had given him hope that he would find them, and he would be able to reconnect with those who had left him. During this time of deep thought, and reflection, Henrex had failed to realize that the boy now was gone, most likely heading off to his quarters to finish preparing for their session, or heading off to meet him now.
So, with his body still remaining in the shadows, Henrex quickly utilized the powers of the Garb in order to speed along his travel, without burning his own energy, which had the potential of limiting himself to the time that he would be able to spare for the young man. By using a teleport-like ability that he made with the garb, Henrex was able to leap across the shadows, giving him an incredible amount of ground coverage. Through this, Henrex was able to reach where he had told the boy to meet him -- the Covert Operations barracks. Therefore, the male would use his fluid movements -- along with the Garb's powers -- to slide inside the Covert Operations barracks undetected.
He knew exactly where to start with this one, outside of the question. He was aware of what Leviathan wanted from this, but again -- the question was...why? Why did he want to get stronger? It was something that rang a bell of resemblance in the mind of the Raven, as it was something that he had to go through what he did in order to truly discover why he wanted exactly that. For him, it was to live up to the expectations that he was to set for people like Leviathan, to continue to keep himself capable to protect those he loved, and to be the best he could be for those he looked up to in life.
Ideas within his mind slowly drifted to the forefront. The structure of these lessons were coming along smoothly.
So, as he put away the Garb, his body returning to visibility in the light, Henrex sat down in his chair, awaiting the young Shihoin.

Covert Operations Barracks, it was the place that belonged to that of the assassins that found themselves within the Gotei United. It also just so happened that Leviathan, mainly the Shihōn in general, had ties to such a thing that it would make a perfect place for them too meet. It wasn't very hard to get past the guards of the barracks as he told them his name, breathing a sigh of relief after as he knows his Shihōn name isn't very useful into a lot of places. After not being able to find Henrex on the outside and coming in, he could feel a very strong reiatsu that the young boy could easily identify as his tutor. Leviathan began to feel a bit nervous as he walked closer and closer towards the area where he would find Henrex. The day of the hollow attack began to replay within his head and his fears took over just as he reached the sitting Henrex. Don't overthink it, Leviathan the shinigami thought in his head as he irked closer and closer to his mentor. Disappointment filled him as he walked, why did he let now of all times affect him? This is why he needed power! He had to overcome the powerlessness and fear that struck him.
His mentor finally came into his sight after a few more minutes, appearing to be sitting down in a chair and awaiting his arrival. As they finally were face to face, Leviathan began to scan the man named Henrex to see if anything stood out to him. Nothing really made Henrex look special to Leviathan not his physical appearance, clothing, or anything he carried on him. However there was one thing that stood out to him and it was the power that emitted itself from him, now that he was closer than before he could truly tell the man was more powerful than he had initially sensed. "It is nice to meet you, Teacher Henrex Leviathan said as he bowed to his teacher, wishing to show him some kind of respect for agreeing to teach him. He would stay quiet after this so that Henrex had the chance to say something but his mind began to run again. What would Henrex say to him? How would their training begin? Exactly what would be in the forte of his training? It was his process too think so much that he couldn't help it with this as well. Leviathan Shihōn could only wait too see what was in store for him and hopefully could overcome anything that might hinder him.

It was quiet.
Henrex sat in the Covert Operations barracks, his left hand's fingers softly tapping against the book he had now opened, his eyes softly tracing across the pages. As he did, he found his eyes occasionally drifting towards the item that lay in the corner of the room, the red gem glinting in the small bit of light that crept through the windows of the barracks. A small bit of anxiety began to worm it's way into Henrex's mind, before he closed his eyes, dismissing the idea without a second thought.
As the time passed, Henrex heard a small bit of muffled commotion outside, causing Henrex's head to raise slightly, his thumb moving to hold his place in the book. Hearing the shuffling of feet soon after, as well as watching and hearing the door creak open, he knew that the Shihoin had arrived. The soft gaze of the Lieutenant observed his new student. He could notice several off-steps in how he conducted himself, most likely out of fear, or of anxiety. As the boy drew closer, Henrex soon found himself crossing his leg over the other, while his chin now rested firmly on the palm of his hand.
As the boy finally found himself close enough, and found the words that would allow him to speak, he did. It was a bit of a strange greeting, using the word "Teacher" in front of his name. It didn't really present anything negative towards him, it just felt odd. So, with a slight wave of his hand, before uncrossing his legs and standing, Henrex would finally speak to the young man.
"No need for formalities. They never really suited me that well, anyways." The male began, before he began to walk.
Once again, his eyes wandered, observing the movements and body language of Leviathan as he slowly began to walk towards his desk, placing a bookmark in the novel, before setting the item down, then turning his head to Leviathan, before speaking once more. He could see and feel the anxiety, fear, and uncertainty seeping from the aura of the other male. It was something that he definitely needed to quell before he made this go any further.
“Nobody is strong and nobody is weak if he conceives of the body, from the head to the sole of the foot, as a unity in which a living mind circulates everywhere equally.” The male said. "Miyamoto Musashi, The Book of Five Rings." He finished, before his left index finger softly tapped the cover of the book, signifying that this was what he was referring to.
Turning his head back to the book for a moment, before beginning to walk again, stepping silently over to Leviathan, before looking down, staring him in the eyes.
"Why are you here, Leviathan Shihoin?" He asked. "What caused you to volunteer for this?"
Pause. Henrex's eyes slowly raised to look at the emptiness behind Leviathan, before turning his gaze back to him.
He needed to think about how he would say these next words. He had the outline ready, he just needed to put his words to paper, and solidify what he was to do.
"How would you benefit from this?"

Leviathan bowed down on one knee with his face to the ground as he waited for Henrex to speak to him. While doing so, he wondered what his teacher was thinking of at the moment. When he first entered the room Leviathan could feel Henrex's eyes exam ever speck of his body, from his unusual colored hair to the standered shoes for the shinigami uniform. Maybe he didn't notice all of his problems through his aura but maybe he did as well, for Leviathans didn't want to seem weak to another person as well. A sound of moment from Henrex's direction made Leviathan quickly rise his head to look only to see him wave his hands and stand up from his chair. Henrex addressed the formality of Leviathan calling him teacher, saying that it was something not needed and never fit the way he was as well.
The young shinigami watched as Henrex made his way to a desk that stood only a few feet from where he stood, a book straddled into his hand. Upon reaching his desk he put down the book and turned around to look at Leviathan once more, seemingly looking into his soul. It freaked him out for a second as it felt that Henrex could see everything that he was thinking and feeling. It scared him due to the fact that no one had known his true feelings, he had shut anyone out so that he would not longer let people know how powerless he really felt. Maybe, just maybe Henrex could help him with this.
A quote filled the air through the voice of Henrex, being meant too convey a message to Leviathan. As reassuring that the quote sounded to him, he could not make out its meaning but continued to look at Henrex as he pointed to the book that he was just reading. It was called the five rings and he knew after this that he might actually give it a read. After putting the book back down, Henrex silently made his way towards Leviathan and was soon to stand only a few inches away from him. The two locked eyes and Leviathan felt the same chill as he did earlier. As he looked into the eyes of his teacher, he was given two questions to answer. They may have just seemed like any old questions but they actually had a meaning, if Leviathan did not have a solid answer for these questions he did not belong here. As he thought over the first two questions, another one was added which made him think harder.
Remember why you are here, remember what you must do to get better Leviathan said as he closed his eyes for just one second, opening them a second later with an answer in his mind. I am here to get stronger he paused for a second as the words seemed to come out a bit hard, "Not strong to just fight but to protect those are dear to me he continued before pausing for a moment. It was the first time that he had actually admitted anything like this since the incident, the night that gave him months and months of constant mental breakdowns. Learning the way of the ninja, zanjutsu, and whatever else you can teacher me will be more than beneficial to my cause. As he uttered these words, he looked into the eyes of his teacher the entire time so that he knew how serious he was.

As Leviathan got down on one knee, bowing before him, Henrex cringed. He hated things like that. It felt so disgusting and forced whenever someone acted that way to him. He wasn't a king, he wasn't a god. He wasn't anyone special. He was just a man. So, before anything else, Henrex had to get that off his chest. Leviathan would not find himself kneeling for long. In mere moments, Henrex's body shot off in a burst of speed, before his hand gripped the boy on the shoulder, before pulling him to his feet.
"Don't bow. Don't kneel. None of that crap. I'm not a king, I'm not a god, nothing like that." He said, before sighing deeply. "I'm just a man, like you, Leviathan."
Henrex gripped the man's shoulder tight, closing his eyes before loosening his grip. Being treated higher than deserved was something that he despised. Henrex did not believe himself to be someone special. He was just a man, and that was the beauty of the life that he lived. As he moved away from Leviathan, his back now facing the boy, while his head stared at the weapons that leaned against his desk. The people that they were aimed for deserved such praise and recognition.
Not him.
So, Henrex turned around to face the Shihoin once again, his hand softly dropping down to the blade that appeared from seemingly nowhere, now resting at his side.
"I don't want to be treated differently, just because of being... 'powerful', when I'm anything but." He said. "Please, always treat me as an equal, and nothing more. Again, I am the same as you -- a man."
As his voice soon died down, his ears now becoming the prime sense -- as to hear what Leviathan had to say as a response to what he asked. A sense of warm nostalgia flowed through his heart, and Henrex could feel himself breaking out with a small smile. Nodding in response to the young man's goals, his mind soon broke out with another question that Henrex himself was interested in finding out. There had to be more than the simple cliche "protect those who are dear to me" response. There was more for him, when it came to his reasoning for that. Thus, Leviathan would have one more question to answer before they began.
"Ah, but why are they dear to you? What have they done that has caused you to want to protect them?"

Leviathan’s eyes stayed glued to Henrex, instantly being confused the moment that he saw the cringe take over his face. It was as if Leviathan had did something wrong or had offended him, something he didn’t want to have happened as he hadn’t even started training yet. The young shinigami was more than unprepared for the quick burst of speed Henrex unleashed comings towards him before grabbing him by the shoulder. It was quite frightening at first as he did not expect such a thing to happen but he quickly realized that Henrex would have no intentions of hurting him but maybe to teach him something. When his teacher began to speak what was on his mind, Leviathan could not say a single word. It was always taught to him to show some kind of respect for those who are high ranked or of noble decent similar to him. In fact, the Gotei encourages it but it seemed like this man had a more humble outlook on his rank and power, something that wasn’t quite usual.
He stayed quite as he watched Henrex release his shoulders and turn his back towards him, looking at several items on his desk. This was the first time that he and the vice captain of the fifth division had actually interacted with each other. He was, different and Leviathan liked that. Even if they both didn’t know it, his lesson with Henrex had already begun. The young shinigami saw him rest his hand on his sword, something he didn’t notice at first and assumed it was his Zanpakuto. ”I understand, Henrex Leviathan said with a slight smile before he answered the questions that he asked. He felt good as he watched Henrex smile at his answers and hoped he felt how sincere he really was. However, he knew that another question had to becoming as even Leviathan admitted he did sound a bit generic. A few seconds later his teacher gave him another question but was prepared a bit for this one as he saw it coming.
They have loved me, supported me, and have watched me grow as the years. Leviathan started as he felt a bit of emotion fill him. ”They have helped shaped the man who I am and will become, giving nothing but love and without that I don’t know where I would be today. as he spoke a picture of him and his parents flashed into his mind, his eyes growing fogger by the second. and I believe that since they have helped me grow and prosper that I should at least be able to protect them from any danger that may come their way Leviathan finished speaking and wiped a tear from forming in both of his eyes. He did not want to cry or be a sap at all but it couldn’t be helped, it was one of the first times he got to address his feelings without feeling like a burden to anyone else. He wish he could turn back time and save his parents but he knew he couldn’t so protecting those who he still could was a top priority.

DARK WINGS, DARK WORDS
Relief.
That was what flooded Henrex's system as he heard Leviathan's acceptance of his request, and lesson. For once, he allowed himself to talk about who he was, and how he looked at himself. So, as he heard Leviathan's verbal understanding, Henrex inhaled, before sighing deeply in relief. As a result of this, Henrex's grip on the man's shoulder loosened, and he was able to find solace in the fact that Leviathan would be able to see him as just another person, and not a superior.
For him, that was a key in building a social relationship with someone. There did not need to be fear, or anything of the sort. One simply needed to view them as an equal, a friend, even. So, Henrex's response would be simple, yet just as accepting of Leviathan's words, as he had been of his own.
"Good lad." The male said quietly, nodding his head softly at firstly, the young man's understanding.
As he thought of the words that he would say about his reasoning why he felt that way towards said people. Once again, Henrex nodded. This was something that he felt was helping him guide this young man on the right path. He was similar to Henrex himself -- although a bit more mature than he had been. But, he could clearly see that there was sincerity in his words. Through the tear that he saw the young man wipe away, Henrex stepped forward, patting the young man on the shoulder.
"There's no need to hide your tears." The male said. "Emotion is what causes the script to be riddled with the power that it presents to the audience."
Stepping backwards, and turning his back to the young man once more, Henrex took a deep breath. He had to get to business. There would be no point in this if he just stood around, lecturing him and whatnot. There needed to be action. Therefore, the man would walk towards Leviathan, passing him as he made his way towards a certain door, indicating for the young man to follow, which lead to a small field -- one that presented many memories for him.
The place where he and Kuro traded blows.
As Henrex stepped into the field, he stopped in the middle. It was time for his first lesson.
So, Henrex's hand lowered to the side, before drawing his weapon. As he did so, Leviathan would be able to notice that the once beautiful weapon was slowly turning dull, as if it had been through centuries and centuries of combat, and never once being repaired.
Letting his sword arm fall to his side, before tilting his head towards his own shoulder, Henrex then would issue Leviathan's first official lesson.
"I am a wandering ronin." He said, his head now turning so that his right eye was visible.
"You are an assassin hired to take my life." He continued. "Begin."

The young man felt a sense of relief when Henrex spoke to him, telling him that there was no reason to hide the tears with an explanation that he actually understood this time. Maybe it was indeed time that he took the emotions that he kept bottled up and used them for something other than wallowing in self pity. Here and now with Henrex, he would try his his hardest to turn all of his sadness into motivation for something better. Without a word, Henrex would step backwards a bit and then turn his back to Leviathan. Leviathan made the assumption that it was more than likely time for the talking to stop and for the actual training to begin.
The man said nothing as he turned around and walked directly passed him, making Leviathan turn his head to do so. It seemed that Henrex was making his way towards a door and made him automatically assume that he was too follow. It didn’t take long for him to pick up a stride behind Henrex towards the mysterious door that he didn’t seem to notice at first. Leviathan wanted to ask more questions but that time was over, he was just ready to learn whatever Henrex was ready to teach him and he knew it would be something new to him. As the door opened and they walked through, Leviathan saw what he didn’t expect and it was an open field. He found it a bit weird but did remember that he was currently in the barracks of the Assassin unit of the Gotei, so it was probably a training field for them.
Leviathan stood quietly as he saw Henrex stop a few feet in front of him and lay his hands down to his side, his back still facing Leviathan. His trainer drew his sword, which went from beautiful to a blade ravaged by the years leaving him slightly in awe. Henrex, his back still turned towards Leviathan, looked over his shoulders and ordered the first official training orders to him, act as an assassin that was hired to kill him. Nervousness began to set in for a second, Leviathan had never acted as an assassin. His clan was known for it but he had been too into his science work to put any efforts towards it but he couldn’t let that stop him now. Leviathan too drew his Zanpakuto from his back as he activated one of his self developed technique, Osiris’s gift. This would cause his reiatsu, sound and smell to disappear and weirdly enough, was a technique that would be good for an assassin. Without a sound, Leviathan quickly used his shunpo to try and appear in front of Henrex. As appeared in front of his intructor he would try and swing his Zanpakuto towards Henrex’s chest, It was a bold move and it might not have worked but he was going to try anyway.

THE LIVING TEMPEST
This was a test that Henrex had come with out of the blue -- something that he really hadn't put too much thought into. He just took a concept that felt like it would be good for a training session and went with it. However, thinking about it more, he realized it would be a good way to test his stealth skills, and how he approached situations like these.
The boy was inexperienced -- Henrex could see that. The moment that he appeared in front of the male, his arm shot out and grabbed his wrist, releasing for a moment, only to strike it and attempt to disarm the young man, taking the sword from the air and holding the blade to his throat if this was all successful.
"I'm going to assume you haven't done something like this before?" He asked, flipping the blade around and holding the handle out to the Shihoin boy.
Scanning him up and down once again, before nodding once, he continued.
"That was an interesting ability that you can use, Leviathan," He said. "Keep using it. Make it stronger, and you'll make an excellent ninja."
"Now, the main mistake that you made was appearing in front of me." He said. "If you're being sent to assassinate me, you need to make sure you are subtle."
Disappearing in a momentous use of Shunpo, reappearing behind the young man silently, Henrex's blade instantly would curl around his neck, mere inches away from the soft, warm flesh that the steel threatened to bite into.
"While getting close to a target can endanger a mission, you must be able to perform quick, cleanly, and have an escape method." He said, allowing his weapon to return back to his side.
"However, I have no doubt that you have immense potential and can think of more than a few ways to work around that."
Removing the black cloak from his shoulder and wrapping it around himself, Henrex stepped towards Leviathan's shadow. "Eventually, with your creative mind, you could do something like this."
Henrex stepped into Leviathan's shadow and the young man would see that Henrex would have completely vanished. He would not be able to see him, catch his scent, hear his breathing, or even sense his presence -- not that it had been even much more apparent than it was now. This was the Garb of Tsukuyomi -- god of the night. Stepping out of the shade and rematerializing, Henrex smiled as he took off the decently sized cloak, before holding it out to Leviathan.
"Want to try it for yourself?"
The male's face spread into a grin, hoping his student would take this chance to use this unique piece of equipment.
