Law
Artist: YYH OST - Song: Kurama's theme - Word Count: 511
As his blade connected Law was surprised to see the extent of the damage. He hadn't expected to make contact with that attack, and he certainly hadn't expected to send Kai flying. Sometime's Law really didn't know his own strength. Perhaps he should have been a bit more careful. He had no intention of seriously injuring the human, but every once in a while it was just time to cut lose. Law stuck his blade in to the snow as Kai skidded to a stop, and looked on curiously, hoping to ascertain the injuries the other had sustained. Sparks continued to fly from the blade as it sat nestled in snow, apparently unperturbed by the change. The snow however, had seen better days, it was melted in patches all around where they'd been fighting, and now where Law had stuck his blade.
Law stayed where he was and simply watched as Kai popped his shoulder back in to place and regained his footing. He could hear the pop from where he was standing, and it echoed around them loudly, as did Kai's scream moments later. The human was certainly resourceful, some would have given up before trying that one out. As he met Kai's gaze though he could tell that the human had plenty of fight left in him. It was hard to imagine him accepting the offer of peace now.
When Kai spoke Law's suspicions were confirmed. They would continue then, that was fine by him. Law pulled his sword out of the snow, twirled it once, and then held it in both hands once more.
"A hero, huh? Fine by me kid, just don't complain when you get your ass kicked."
In truth Law wouldn't have respected anyone that had backed down at that moment. What Kai said hit the nail on the head. To agree to peace then meant to let Law do whatever he pleased. A real fighter stood up for themselves. He noticed that Kai was now equipped with nothing but his fists. They were covered in fire sure, but still they were his fists. Law would not be throwing away his weapon so easily. The electricity that coated his blade was weakening now, and he could see that he'd have only one more attack with it. Accepting this he made his move.
Law moved towards his opponent. Not using shunpo this time, not even running. He walked calmly ahead and waited to see what would be thrown at him next. He wasn't sure how much longer Kai was capable of fighting for normally, but the human seemed to be showing at least some signs of wear. He wondered if endurance was his advantage. He was obviously faster than Kai, but he'd also noticed that the human was almost certainly stronger than him. That was somewhat absurd when he thought about it, but it was what he'd observed. Some serious training was in order when he was done with this entire ordeal.
