Steiner had fought hollows before and had killed his fair share in his life. In fact when Steiner had powers not too long ago, he had fought many a Hollow in the wastes to acclimate himself to his powers, but now he was staring at something monstrous. Steiner had never seen a Hollow of this size before, it was so big that it dwarfed the construction site's main structure, and in doing so made Steiner's weapon seem pale in comparison. How does one fight a beast of this size with a crowbar, he didn't have an endless supply of tricks he could pull out to fight this beast, nor did he have the powers to go toe to toe with such a thing. In fact, standing before this beast Steiner wondered if he could even do anything at all to something of this size. His mind raced with thoughts of how to put the beast down, but it was drawing blanks, for the first time in a long time Steiner could not find a definitive answer to deal with the creature before him.
That is when Saisei acted as he did, causing a momentary distraction for the hero of honor who turned to face his young friend as he ran off into the distance, and disappearing into the buildings. In that instance the Hollow brought its foot down on to the hot desert sand causing the Earth to shake as it did so, Steiner lost his footing in that moment as the sands shifted, and the ape like Hollow made its march toward the young man who was busily scrambling to his feet. He needed to buy Saisei time to get away, the boy was young, and had a full life ahead of him while Steiner knew his time in the living realm was limited. This would be a fair trade he assumed, saving one last person before he knocked on death's door, and with that resolve Steiner stood before the beast taking a stance to defend himself against something that could not be defended against.
The ape swung its massive arm, long and wide, at Steiner who reacted by bringing the crowbar up and bracing it along his body to add extra resistance. Upon contact Steiner was flung a good twenty or so yards, going through plywood and building materials as he landed at his destination. Steiner spat up blood and looked to his crowbar weapon only to find it broken beyond recognition, he cursed himself as he tried to get up from his broken landing pad. He staggered to his feet, one arm clutching the side where he had been hit, and pieces of wood, sand, and steel from falling from his body as new wounds leaked blood on to the tan sand beneath him mixing it into some kind of paste. Steiner stared at the beast making its way toward him, grabbing for a piece of nearby rebar that was laying nearby, and planning to use that as a weapon to defend himself. "Just got to buy the kid some time to get away...that's all I got to do. Come on Steiner...you've got this.", Steiner murmured to himself as Cirno's gem glowed bright blue in the bright desert sun as it hung from his neck.
Steiner was gassed to be honest, he had been running for a while, and the humidity combined with the natural state of heat that the desert provided was draining him of his stamina. He doubted he could keep up with the beast for much longer, let alone continue to defend himself at maximum level. His arms felt like lead, his body was covered in gashes from impact, and his whole left side felt like he had several broken bones. The only thing that kept him going was the need to keep Saisei safe, to buy him even a second more time was more than enough reason to keep fighting, and it was what was pushing him to continue even now. "Is that all you got!", Steiner shouted at the beast, holding the rebar in one hand, and having his other arm hang loosely behind him.
The beast seemed to take exception to being called out, maybe it was semi-intelligent, and as it took exception it launched itself at Steiner with a rather large leap. Steiner ran away from the point of impact and just barely made it out in time as the creature slammed down causing the earth to rattle, and shake underneath Steiner's feet. Steiner turned, using his rebar to stab out at the creature's leg, and penetrated soft flesh as he did so. The creature howled in pain, Steiner had expected resistance, but apparently the creature's body was not that physically defensive in nature. The opposite of the rhino Hollow that they had killed earlier before arriving here. In a moment, Steiner had removed the rebar weapon and slashed out again, gashing the creatures leg as it kicked back with its' foot and sent Steiner flying another twenty yards back. This time, however Steiner's body would meet the cold embrace of a van.
He dented one of the sides of the van upon impact, sliding down a good distance as he gasped for breath, and tried his best to remain conscious from the extreme pain he was in. He let out a scream of pain as he tried to lift himself back up from the ground and instinctively he reached out for the rebar he had been using. His rebar weapon was missing however, and he couldn't move due to a pain in one of his legs, which he dubbed as probably being broken. He looked at the Hollow, watching its' wounds heal before his eyes, and realizing that this thing may not have a thick hide, but the creature had impressive healing abilities to support itself. "So this is how I go...fair enough. At least Saisei is safe...", he whispered to himself as he spat out blood from his mouth and awaited for the beast to turn to face him. As it did, he could clearly see that the beast was reveling in its' triumph as it moved slowly toward him, and seemed to salivate as it realized just what type of meal it was going to get. Steiner didn't blink, a hero never blinks in the face of death. "Come and get it...I hope you get fucking indigestion.", Steiner shouted at the beast as he glared holes into it.

Step after step, Saisei's body carried itself forward without hesitation, sweat pouring from his very core as he huffed and puffed his way through the construction site. Pictures of Hollows of this size didn't do them any type of justice. The size of such a grand Hollow was unimaginable, being easily compared to the height and width of a small apartment building. Surely such beings could only exist in small handfuls, right? A sharp turn sent the young boy flying forward once more, climbing the steep slate of concrete that stood before him. He was clearly in over his head, both he and Steiner. Could two mediocre humans really take down such a formidable foe? Shoving his teenage fist through the thick skin of the Rhinoceros Hollow prior to the Building's arrival, how could he do such a thing now?
It didn't matter at the end of the die, obviously. No man left behind, no one left for dead, many different phrases and sayings could fit the extreme idea flopping about within Saisei's mind. Steiner was surely left for dead on his own out in the Construction Complex. Without Saisei, whether or not they can truly damage the foe, the man was sure to die. The same could easily be said of Saisei himself, he knew that death awaits anyone who wished to face the Hollow without taking it seriously. Nevertheless, the pink haired boy swallowed his fear with all the might he had, coming to a complete halt on the thick slab of concrete beneath him. A quick huff force his chest outward as he mimicked a very awkward looking statue.
"Alright, here we go. You can do this Saisei, just take a deep breath. Nothing will go wrong, everything will work out just fine. Right? Right." A quick pep talk and he was already rushing off once more. The thick slab of concrete he had previously climbed was far from the only bit of concrete around him. From the looks of it, the boy had found himself within one of the large structures that was suited demolition by those currently building in the complex's vicinity. Steiner and Saisei seemed to be in for at least a tiny bit of good luck, the 15 storied parking garage was clearly going to give the boy and man some type of advantage against the large Hollow. Clambering his way up towards the top platform was no easy task. Of course, the boy had little choice. Continuing his trek, Saisei eventually found himself awkwardly limping forward into the harsh wind and heat of the thick desert.
Saisei flung himself towards the edge of the parking garage top platform, taking a long glance towards the sky above as drew breath after breath in order to both mentally and physically prepare him for what came next. A quick glance towards the ground below showed a bracing Steiner, the large creature before him sending a quick smack against the man's body as he took the brunt of the force head on. Surviving such a blow was insanity, the now injured man shuffling around before screaming to the heavens above. God damn, Steiner. How unsafe did you want to be to yourself? The clear attempt to anger the creature seemed to work just fine as well, a quick and swift kick made contact with his figure before sending him flying. Moments later, his limp body came into contact with his company's van. Scrambling, Saisei's mind completely shut down as he shook with both fear and adrenaline. Turning away from the injured Steiner, the boy took one step after another as he tapped his hands awkwardly together in front of him. His steps eventually led him to the building's edge, only prompting a quick turn towards the building of a Hollow.
A single breath escaped Saisei's lips as he sighed, dropping his hands to his sides once more before speaking aloud. "Alright, here's how it's gonna go. You're going to jump. Really high. After jumping, you're going to punch him. Really hard. Really, really, really hard. That simple. Nothin' to it, Saisei. One single punch, it's gotta work right? Right. Alright let's do this." The outer monologue quickly came to an end, sending a shockwave of energy through Saisei's body as he jolted forward. Breaking out into a brisk sprint, the boy only continued to speed up as finally reached the steep fall that was the side of the parking garage.
Finally, there was no more turning back. Saisei found himself quickly rocketing through the air, arms out stretched to prepare himself to brace for impact against the Hollow. Watching as it slowly pulled his right arm towards the Sky, Saisei saw his opening. It was all or nothing as the boy reared his own right arm back as far as the socket would allow for, a surge of Chi energy beginning to build up in high amounts at the very tip of each and every knuckle of his right hand. Coming towards the outstretched arm of the monstrous being, its slow movements began to alter, a quick change in energy allowing for its hand to abruptly reach forward towards the boy. In an attempt to free himself from what was surely impending doom, Saisei extended his own hand forward as well, making contact with the palm of the Hollow.
'Nice one, jack ass.' The hot headed girl from before seemed to hover before his very eyes, the world around him quickly coming to a slow as she spoke. She didn't have much to say, given the angry scowl on her face alongside the sky behind her. Saisei seemed to quite easily escape the Hollow's grasp. Though, oddly enough, the world's slowed speed clearly defined the lackluster hole that pierced the palm of said Hollow. In return for his valiant efforts he was given a reward, if you could call it that. A tiny glance to his right revealed a skinless right arm and extended bones shooting from his Knuckles. Not exactly the prettiest sight, but what was he to expect? As soon as the sight of his mangled arm came into view, the boy's world quickly crumbled apart. The speed once again returned as he was rocketed towards the thick sand below, making a sickening amount of crackles upon impact with the sand.
'Guess that didn't go how you planned for it to, huh?' Once again, the scowling girl stood over the mangled boy before releasing a deep sigh, the boy's vision quickly fading to black before could make it meaningful comment. Just like that, Steiner and Saisei were both in a poor state of mind and body. Most likely, really, they'd both have a sweet embrace of death soon enough. The Hollow roared in excitement as the human's spent their time barely clinging to the world around them. Was it truly over? It seemed so. If anything were to keep them from death now, well... it would surely be some form of miracle.

Steiner watched Saisei return to the field of battle as he had and his eyes went wide as the Hollow slammed the boy to the floor like a football for a touchdown. For a few seconds he would stare straight ahead and watch for any sign of potential movement from Saisei, upon seeing none of that, the young hero of honor forced himself to his feet. He needed to buy some time, to protect the boy who had just risked his all only to be taken down a few pegs as the Hollow had done, and Steiner tensed up as he began to stagger forward toward the Hollow who's hand was already healing from Saisei's early assault. Steiner along the way, reached out for the piece of rebar which was located on the ground in front of him as he walked by it. He gave it a few experimental swings and let out a deep sigh as he did his best to make a running rush at the Hollow with bad intentions.
The Hollow which leaned down to get a mouthful of Saisei meat, quickly received a piece of rebar impaling it directly through one of its' few vulnerable points on its body. Its eye exploded in a mess of black blood and eye juices as the Hollow let out a loud howl of pain. It staggered bag, taking the piece of rebar from Steiner's hand, and slashing his hand with said rebar in the process as it fell on top of the parking garage to right itself as it held its' face. Steiner groaned, letting out ragged breaths as he staggered over to Saisei, and picked him up with all the strength he could muster into a fireman's carry. The pain from being flung back first into a van made Steiner wince as he lifted the boy on his back, but he needed to get him out of there. Somewhere safe so that he could recuperate without having to worry about being eaten by some extremely large Hollow. The Hollow continued to howl in pain as it clutched at its face trying to pull the rebar from its eyes, this gave Steiner the cover he needed to stagger forward, as he scanned for any cover to hide the both of them.
"Just hold in there kid...I've got you.", Steiner groaned as he saw a nearby supply tent where he knew he could put Saisei. All the while he continued to think of what he could do, it wasn't like he could just keep running with Saisei like this, and he couldn't risk both of their lives by hiding out here in a tent. As he continued to think he put the kid down on the ground inside of the tent, making sure to check for a pulse, and to check him out to make sure he was absolutely alright. Well, he wasn't alright, but at least he would live to fight another day, but that was also up to what happened in the next few minutes. Steiner let out a long sigh, coming to the realization that there was no way that both of them were walking away from this alive, not like this anyway, and Steiner patted the kid on the head before turning around to face his destiny. "Its been real...you've got a long life ahead of you and my days are numbered, live that life to its' fullest, alright? Take care of yourself...", Steiner said as he exited the tent and began to limp his way over to where the Hollow was howling from.
He walked with purpose, dedication, and poise as he neared the spot where the Hollow was at. He saw that the Hollow had removed the rebar from its' eye, yet had not regenerated his eye at all, maybe because he lacked the ability to do so, and as it noticed Steiner arrive on the scene it turned with monstrous fury to face him. "Alright, lets do this shit.", Steiner said to himself as he marched forward looking for any sort of weapon he could find. He found none, he would instead most likely have to run, and buy Saisei as much time as he could instead. He wondered just how far he could go with his injuries and his current state of power, but that line of thinking couldn't be afforded at this very moment. No, the only thing that the hero of honor should be thinking about is how to better help his new friend survive for just a bit longer. "Alright, you son of a bitch...lets see how fast you really are.", Steiner shouted as the beast let out a howl and began to charge at the young man as he began to rush off into the distance.
With each step, Steiner felt the pain intensify, but he swallowed that pain, and bottled it up deep inside himself, letting that pain fuel him to run faster more and more. He would save Saisei and he would make sure that he could keep on living to see a bright future. Even if it killed him. That boy had a bright future, he had a full life, and would go on to do great things, he knew that by just looking upon him, and seeing the things he had done. He had risked it all for him and as a hero he wasn't going to let that go unrewarded and unjustly squandered. He would pay Saisei's sacrifice back by sacrificing himself as well, by buying the boy a few fleet seconds to gather himself, and escape before there was no way to escape. He knew that Saisei would hate him for that, but he needed the boy to survive, no he demanded that boy to live, and that was why he was doing this now. The Hollow was gaining on him, he could hear the howls of the beast, and feel the vibrations of its' feet stepping on the ground drawing closer to him. Steiner took it into another gear, digging deeper into his tank of reserves to pull out even more, and in doing so his eyes flickered purple for a millisecond before turning back to the aqua blue. He didn't know how much longer he could run, but he was going to keep running until the beast was far away from the young boy unconscious inside of the tent.
