Overall Appearance
Personality: Berthold is usually the quiet type, very shy, and often hides his true self. Berthold is a very nice guy, and is often seen but not heard. He loves sweets and is often very tired; heavy bags are usually under his eyes. Not too partial of having friends, he often treats people he is close to as acquaintances, rather than calling them friends. What is even more abnormal is the way he holds things; he holds items delicately as to not get his finger prints on them. Berthold is often seen as a freak and avoided by many, not that he complains, he does not mind being alone. He has a slight German accent, and has a passionate love of his home, Germany. At home, Berthold secretly reads Mein Kampf, which he hides in a stitch is his mattress in his room. Since moving from Germany, Berthold is rarely seen without a notebook or book in his arms to look at when avoiding your eye contact. He is rarely seen without books, and when he does not have them, it is best to attempt to approach him then. It would not a be wise or advised to try and pick on him for being so shy, he will often get upset and politely tell you what to do with your comments.

Berthold has an incredible brain filled with information to a tenfold. Berthold is at the top of his class and is great at planning strategically. Though it may not seem so, Berthold is also very strong and flexible; he is quite a skilled fighter, though it is unknown to most. Berthold, usually overlooking the opposite sex, is sometimes quite attractive to many naturally, to many it seems a waste; he never does go after girls much.

Background/Roleplay Sample
Background: Berthold has a rather complicated life. Growing up, he had a rather bad childhood with his alcoholic father and abusive mother; together they made his life miserable. He lost sleep, and he was always the black sheep of the family, he was the freak. He did not mind being different, but it was his parents that he was truly ashamed of. When he was first introduced to school, he never brought them up, nor did they ever go to any school functions, making it easier on him. He liked that.
When Berthold had made some friends in his school, and was beginning to get comfortable, he felt as though nothing could go wrong. Or so he thought. After years of bonding with a few boys and girls, Berthold was told that would all be taken away from him, his father had to move for his job, they would no longer be in Germany. This broke his heart, he had made friends, he loved Germany and its history, no country could compare to Germany in his eyes. When they moved, Berthold hid his book, and later restored it to the stitch in his bed. He had not spoken to his parents but one or two word answers, otherwise he was but a ghost roaming their house. He hardly spoke to anyone or ever gotten close to another again, he wanted to save the heart break again, and chose to just be alone. Less to worry about anyway, right?
