WHAT IS ATTACK POTENCY?
The Point Of Making Outlines And What You'll Gain
The purpose of this guide is to help you understand a bit more about how the mechanics of PH battles work. This is not something that is required to learn, but it can help enhance your battles and is mainly done for fun. As, even though there is a lot of story/plot elements on the site, that doesn't mean you CAN'T have fun with your battles and have some extra mechanics in it.
Part One:What Is Attack Potency?
Attack Potency refers to the destructive capacity of the attack. It does not refer to "xddddd I can blow up the sun with my big ass attack", but more so describes how make attack damage a characters attack is equal to.
For instance: Rose (my character) is capable of focusing the potency of one of her hits to otherwise equal to having enough destructive output to destroy entire towns. However, instead of it being placed in a large area of effect, that potency is focused primarily on the opponent and it describes how much damage is being done to them.
Part Two: Why use Attack Potency?
Attack Potency is important to PH because of the fact that our power-tier is related to it. By that, I mean there are characters who have enough destructive capacity to destroy entire islands, but that doesn't mean their attacks are going to have a wide scale of effect that destroys entire islands. Otherwise, there wouldn't be anything left on PH.
So our universe is more so fitted towards the POTENCY of the attack rather than WIDE SCALE damage. Which is one misconception I think is common on PH when it comes to battles.

Part Three: So What's In It For My Character?
Well, if applied correctly, you can have a difference in battle threads. The reason I say this is because if you can determine the potency of your attacks, you can attempt to have a variety of different effects on the battle.
I.E. Let's say that your character is a part of a faction. This faction allows your character to have a piece of equipment that increases the potency of their attack to city level. They have one usage with this item and they are against a weakened opponent who is on a town-scale level on the powerscale. (Refer back to link) If they are able to use this piece of equipment correctly, they can try and put down the target with the right attack potency.
Conclusion
In short, every type of ability that uses some kind of energy has a potency to it on Platinum Hearts. And this potency can make a difference in a fight if it's better understood and applied correctly. While we aren't going around destroying small moons, higher-end characters do have high potency attacks which can distribute damage in a confined area which is equivalent to having enough destructive capacity to destroy a small moon.
