The Wind Road [wip]
Sun Mar 12, 2017 9:35 am
Hurricane Fist: A highly advanced martial art style, inspired by the power of a Hurricane, it allows for momentous blows when utilized correctly. Focusing the Slip-Stream to her fist, Mirja can execute micro-oscillation, reaching nearly twenty thousand circuits a minute. This gathers The Wind and creates a self-contained Hurricane within the area of her fist, which is forced into the target upon impact. The revolution of this short-lived but powerful Hurricane rips at the impact zone, and depending on the direction of the oscillation, can either blast the enemy away with a mighty gust of wind, or suck them further into the fist, increasing the damage dealt via momentum.
The Wind Howls: Taking the concept of Plus Ultra's Nine-Headed Hydra, Mirja utilizes Boundless Lungs to saturate the surrounding area with The Wind, creating a small area in which she is sped up for a moment, to such an extent she is able to create a dimensional refraction phenomena and deliver three kicks at the exact same moment. Unlike the soft, easy flow of The Wind that the other techniques use, this is hard, and brutal, ignoring the limits of the body in exchange for physical activity. It can only be used twice before Mirja's legs are decimated, shattered bone and torn muscle as the body is pushed too far beyond itself. After each use, it also leaves her breathless as she uses what she breathes the power the technique.
Transit Tunnel: Compressing The Wind into a small tunnel, it is then fired off towards the target, hitting them heavily and disrupting them for a moment. Then, while the tunnel is still active, the user can travel through it and appear on the other side in an instant, ready to take advantage of the enemy who has not been given time to recover before the foe is before them.
Leviathan's Maw: Gathering The Wind around her leg, Mirja kicks upwards with momentous force, the coiled muscles in her body exploding into activity for a moment and launching The Wind towards the enemy as an incredible crescent blade. The speed and power of this attack allows it to cleanly cleave through any physical or spiritual barrier - including a person's body - that ranks Advanced in the relevant skill. It has such power that it is able to considerably damage physical or spiritual barriers that rank Master in the relevant skill. The downside, is that the Maw weights heavily on Mirja's leg muscles, ripping at them even after a single use. Two uses of the Maw is her maximum, a third will obliterate her leg in an incredibly painful manner, such that it easily overrides her Pain Tolerance.
Wind is Blood: A technique that requires Boundless Lungs to use, it is an evolution of the ability, in the fact that over time, use of Boundless Lungs leaves trace elements of The Wind within the user's body, and these persist, becoming a permanent part of them. The Wind blows inside of them, and resists energy attacks on their body. Using energy to control or manipulate a person's mind, stop their heart, freeze their joints, disturb their gravity, or anything that directly affects them, is blown from their body without finding purchase. This does not, however, mean that the Energy manipulator can't create a spear from their energy and shove it through the person's chest, control nearby rocks to crush them, or shoot them with Mind Bullets.
Queen's Domain - The Windless Zone: After using Boundless Lungs, Mirja places her palms on the barrier between her and The Wind, and pushes, while moving her hands. This creates a self-sustained barrier that expands to nearly twenty foot in diameter. The barrier sucks the majority of the air out of the zone, only barely avoiding total decompression. Despite this, the sudden lack of air and inability to draw another breath can range from irritating, to crippling. Targets with Durability Advanced or less will feel their lungs start to collapse as they stay inside the Windless Zone, working harder and harder to no avail. This can make them easy prey for the user. The barrier loses it's self-containment and collapses after a minute, and The Wind is to finely dispersed to use any Wind Road techniques without a dramatic change in scenery.
The King's Arrival - Once, Mirja pitted herself against a raging Storm, the King of an area which had long since been abandoned, due to the fact that the storm had developed self-sufficiency and would never blow out. She stood against gales sharp enough to shred her specially armoured Shihakusho, and ran enough to scour the skin from a person's body. This King was eventually put down, and peace returned, but even as it was reborn, clear of mind and sound of form, it did not forget the duty it owed the one who had saved it.
With a command on The Wind, Mirja can bring the assistance of The King to where she fights. A sudden Storm whips up, covering miles, and miles, and replicates the very forces Mirja had to fight against. The rain - or hail, depending on the temprature of the area - reduces footing and visibility, as well as causing physical damage to those lacking and adept in durability. Gale-force winds how, threatening to take the person off their feet and violently slice open skin and bone. The King seems almost alive, as it focuses it's attention on Mirja's foe, and gives her a small zone in which nothing happens.
However, the attention of royalty is brief and their causes many, so The King can only remain for three posts before dissipating to see to it's subjects. The King can not return in the same thread that the post count has run out.
Storm Regalia: The Right to Rule The Wind Road, this Regalia takes the appearance of a soft blue dress. The materials are naught but The Wind, cloaking the one who rules their Road and granting a considerable boost to all Wind Road techniques - including Slip Stream, which is the initial step on the Wind Road - and enhancing the speed, power, and Regal Might of all the techniques. This transforms The Wind Road into The Hurricane Road, not something to be used in the presence of allies, since The Hurricane Road is power on a scale such that it cares naught for anyone, or anything. A slight concession is made for the Storm Queen - Mirja - but even she can be torn apart by it if she uses it without caution.
The Regalia weighs heavily on the user's body, taxing them and demanding a great deal in return for this support. Mirja can manage to subsidize a vast degree of energy to keeping it active, allowing her three turns of which she can use it freely. Another three turns can be further added by her current body's physique, but on the third turn of using her body to deal with the demands of the Regalia, she is subject to intense pain as her body begins to fall apart, unable to withstand the strain any longer.
Queen's Court: By holding court inside her own body, The Wind is subsidized to become an internal thing. This prevents her from using any of The Wind Road techniques, but bolsters her physical attributes to a phenomenal level as The Wind roars inside her, tuning everything to beyond perfection and supporting her like only the best vassal can support their Queen. However, The Wind had no idea of restraint, or the limits of Mirja's body, and so she is only able to safely hold Court for three turns before her body begins to feel the strain of The Wind's undisputed attention. Another three turns and Mirja's body is torn apart from the inside.
This ability is comparable with the Storm Regalia, the same way Shinigami are compatable with Geisei-Hadō. The Hurricane Road has a monstrous impact on the enhancement of Queen's Court. But an equally monstrous impact on Mirja's body in a shorter span of time. This technique can only last three turns before she is crippled by the Hurricane taking her to pieces. Her Territorial Tulpa would keep her alive, but little else until she received proper, extended, medical attention.
