Chiheisen has the ability to merge the wielder with one other thing or merge that thing with the wielder, whether it be organic or inorganic, or even abstract, or to separate two or more inanimate things.

Generally, this ability is used to fuse or merge with physical substances, such as becoming one with a wall in order to quickly pass to the other side, or sink into rock in order to avoid a hail of bullets. But it could also be used to separate substances into their bases parts, if allowed enough time. The more complicated an object is or the stronger it is spiritually, the more time and effort it takes to merge with or separate.

If allowed the proper time to focus and channel her energy, Narumi can project these spiritual waves with greater strength and allow herself to fuse with more abstract things, such as allowing her sense of hearing to fuse with the surrounding area in order to overhear anything said within a reasonable distance.

When using either aspect of this ability, Narumi's aura distorts and ripples in strange fractal and geometric patterns.

In this form, it is impossible to fuse or merge two living spiritual beings together.

» Bankai Abilities: The 'fusion' of her Shikai deepens into far more broad territory, although use of these techniques quickly depletes her focus and her energy reserves. For example, Narumi can (once, twice at most at current level) briefly merge with the surrounding air allowing her to totally avoid one attack, reforming shortly thereafter in some nearby place.

Additionally, her 'separation' facet of this power also advances, allowing her to render more complex objects into all of their baser parts at once, rather than pulling them out slowly, one by one.

The few who have observed this effect have likened it to spacetime manipulation, as she appears to also be able to cover vast distances in a manner similar to a teleport.

The ultimate attack of this release is to briefly, partially, merge with a single, target opponent. This act is extremely violent to both bodies, as spiritually aware beings are too complex to merge, and inflicts the same level of grievous wound onto both Narumi and her target. Generally, wounds from this effect can appear grotesque or extreme and do not follow any typical pattern of characteristic, such as slashing wounds from a sword or burns from a Cero.
