» Item Description: There are many beliefs about great Gods in the sky. The likes of Thor and Zeus, Ra and Pan, but less about those that had not got their own pantheon. These creatures, flecks of concentrated spiritual energy, are known to those who are aware, as the Small Gods. While not actually gods as most people know the word, rather clumps of spiritual energy that have come together over an incredibly long stretch of time to gain sentience and eventually become attributed to an aspect, they are known as such. Some Small Gods have clear places of residence, such as Resilience Gods residing in things of great sturdiness, Fluidity Gods residing in anything liquid, and even basic concepts such as heat, were the Gods of Heat reside in the hottest things on the planet. These Small Gods are happy were they are, and generally remain where they are, giving rise to stories of indestructible rocks, or a cave that is perpetually hot even in the darkest of winters. However, some Gods can find it more difficult to reside. Such as Gods of Swiftness, Gods of Skill, and Gods of Might. It is these Gods that are much easier to coax into living within a being than any intimate object, since living beings are much easier to be swift, skilled, or mighty than a tree is. It is here that the stories of supernatural animals are born.

A Bear housing a God of Might could be stronger than any of his kin before him, and able to rule over large swaths of the animal kingdom. A fox with a God of Swiftness may move faster than a human would consider possible, and always evade pursuit and capture. But, the most interesting hosts by far are the human beings. The potential for skill, strength, and swiftness intrigues the Small Gods, but unlike animals, they would be more aware of their newfound abilities, and thus more liable to make use of them. So when a Small God takes a liking to a human, or other sentient humanoid, they are presented with tests. The Small Gods remain generally unknown because very few people notice these tests for what they are when they are put in front of them, and even when they are passed, they rarely understand where this new power has come from. Coupled with the fact that the Small Gods generally focus on the best of the world to begin with, having somewhat of a pride complex being so old, Small Gods housed inside humanoid beings, are very rare.

However, for those who do understand, and actively hunt down Small Gods to be tested by them, such boons become great helps in their lives. Granting them the potential to surpass most and become the top of their game. And for those who manage to coax more than one Small God to live inside them, they could be privy to a great and esoteric process.

Most beings can only support two Small Gods. Upon trying to coax in a third, it will take the measure of the two already inside, and either reject the coaxing entirely, or if the aspects are similar - such as a marital artist with a Small God of Swiftness, and a Small God of Might trying to coax in a Small God of Skill - then the three will merge into an Auspicious Small God. The melding of the three aspects into one spiritual being that bonds with the host's soul grants numerous advantages in the field, depending on what this spiritual being's new aspect is. The martial Artist's three Small Gods would meld into an Auspicious Small God of Combat, granting him a momentous edge in the field of combat.

However, while they can be found in nature, Humankind will always find a way to spin an enterprise and get rich off the land. So some diabolical spiritualists set about collecting these Small Gods and turning them into small pills, which were then sold for astronomical prices to anyone with the money and connections to learn about them. However, this led them to gain a reputation as being pills that grant a few days of superhuman performance, and then kill the host from what seemed to be exhaustion. It is nothing to do with the pills, but the person eating them not meeting the requirements the Small Gods demand of their host, and thus burning out from trying to sustain it. For the rare person that does have the body capable of hosting the Small Gods, these pills dissolve the spiritual energy that makes up the Small God into the soul of the consumer, leaving nothing but the power of their aspect behind.
The limit of three Gods still applies, since at the third pill, the body reaches its saturation limit and can no longer imbibe the energy of the pills. These pills are thought to be far superior to simply coaxing a Small God since they do not need to pass any test to prove their worth, and if done right, the energies will still combine into an Auspicious Small God.

Aside from demanding greatness from the hosts, they also demand a cleanness to their hosts Soul. They can not abide Hybrids of any description, and only accept those known as Vizards if the host is especially considerable in their field.
