Deus Ex Machina: God from the machine, the simple solution to a complex problem. What more fitting name for the type of technology meant to achieve a level of connectivity and power only made through the intervention of technology? Thus it came time for Vastime to begin to invest it’s resources into the type of technology which could rival that of anything the Yuudeshi’s, Shadowfall, or any major organization could focus upon. Thus the idea and concept of the Deus Ex Machina was conceived, a Phantom Brain that was not only designed as a super processor but a the first prototype in what will eventually become the future of technological advancements.


The first main process of this Phantom Brain is the ability to comprehend data at an enormous rate without delay. Similar to that of Shadin Yuudeshi, this function was based heavily upon his own ideas of a super-processor with modifications as needed. Considering a large portion of the world’s information flows through Vastime due to it acting as a central economic hub due to its African location, this processor has a direct link to the network system of Vastime and whatever other appliances connect to that network. This means it can find data at within microseconds of needing to gather it.


However, it also has the application to slow the world around the user due to the extreme rate in which data is flowing. Similar to that to a person in an intense focus state this allows them to improve their reflexes and reactions although granted they have the natural speed to react. This could be a game changer in terms of fighting at the higher level, granting the user the ability to react to attacks and beings which normally would have the upper hand in reflexes or overall speed. When paired with someone with a master in focus or will power these attributes can be enhanced creating quite the cocktail.


The secondary main function of the Deus Ex Machina is to act as the control hub for any other cybernetic abilities the user may have, this model directly linked to the physical enhancements that will be listed in the ability section.


The third and finally functions is a bit more unique the user, which is currently Desmond Hayden. It is a well known fact since his encounter with Wolf Lionus he is a holder and strong user of the strange ethereal substance known as Death Matter. Normally something like the Phantom Brain would be completely incompatible with the Phantom brain but due to an operation under taken, along with weeks of trial and error, they managed to lock onto Death Matter ‘biological’ key for Hayden and imprint that into the technology allowing for it to become compatible with the new age technology.


However, this now means Hayden control over the substance has been dramatically enhanced before amplifying his passives with death matter ranging from his regeneration or complex generation of the substance. He no longer needs a physical connection to the death matter to manipulate it due to the neurological and wave length they now match he can manipulate death matter from afar. This could range from gaining a new set of eyes with death matter by leaving it in a location, tracking a enemy, learning about the composition of an item or person, and most of all being able to increase his capacity with the substance.

Augmented Muscle & Bone System


Info: With the addition of Phantom Tech to Hayden’s body he found this would be the perfect opportunity to combine his physical aspects with technology rather than go the ability route as many others do. Hayden’s Deus Ex Machina allows his super processor to devout a energy towards his bones and muscles utilizing both death matter to increase the regenerative properties and the force in which they can produce and withstand. Through this concept he has permanently augmented the way his body reacts to damage and how he can turn up applications of energy in a situation which calls for it.


Obviously when diverting energy to one place or another one must make a sacrifice, well in this regard this sacrifice boils down to the potency of Hayden’s energy attacks. In a perfect world Hayden attacks and physical strength are relatively balanced, but his physical power and speed becoming something he relies heavily on. Through diverting his attention or reiatsu to his body rather than his energy attacks such as a cero or such, he drains the potency of his energy attacks. He also runs the risk of burning his body out far before the fight is over but this is in the case of extreme usages of it, such as diverting and maintaining all his energy within his legs for an prolonged period of time.


With Hayden’s body control power, which simply unleashes the maximum potential of his body, this increases that potential beyond what is normally fathomable. When matched with his raw strength he can become an absolute menace to the world and things around him, easily being on par with a being such a Radioactive one of the strongest fighters in the world.

Potential Burst


Info: An intended but welcomed side effect of this Phantom Tech ability set, is the ability to be able to see the potential which flows in all beings. The way it works is that everyone theoretically has unlimited growth potential but aside from that there is a finite amount people can access in a short while. It is why training only unlocks a small portion of it despite how intensive it can use, to unleash the true unlimited potential someone would be akin to opening a fizzy soda- it would simply explode everywhere. But you can ease the cap off and close it allowing the pressure to release slowly, this is a similar concept to potential.


Using the new augmented eye Hayden has along with the super processor now located in his thick noggin, he is able to process and see how much limited potential someone has within them from the way their energy flows to the stiffness of their bones and muscles. More importantly he can temporarily unlock the potential for that person as to improve their combat capabilities for a small portion of time (a singular thread) to allow them to perform at a higher level. However, once this is done it cannot be done for another in real life week least the person body burns out from over user. While someone might think to use this in combat it is actually advised against, instead this would be used for a training thread as it would allow the person to practice and learn to increase their growth and inevitable limited potential which leads to permanent benefits- meanwhile if he did this in combat it would be akin to placing someone in a power suit with no training- they would hurt themselves by not adjusting.


However Hayden cannot use this on himself due to both how his abilities are constantly pushing his limits and potential making this something he would use on a mentee or something of that caliber.


Network Dominion

By holding a direct link to the Vastime Network, it can act as the central hub of it’s network from time to time. This means while connected it holds utter dominion over the network and those connected to it allowing Hayden to activate technology that may be across the earth within in an instant or communicate efficiently. This means where Hayden goes also means the Network follows within him, acting as a sort of ‘wifi’ extender due to the processor within his brain. This means he has constant access with the network even if all his external devices where shattered which is something completely possible when battling beings of 0 tier and above. As such this allows him to manifest the Network in a physical sense, albit more centralized to Hayden.

» Notes: Tl;dr Vastime researched some of it's own methods in producing Phantom Tech wanting to have an equivalent of a higher duty user. Seeing the effects on Shadin Yuudeshi they opt'd to not go down the quantum route. lol
