Sand in Your Scales(Yaksha/Saisei)

Yaksha, The Anthropophagus
Sunbathing worked better when you cast a shadow. Yaksha had realized this the hard way, when he had spent a good four or five hours just lying on the banks of a Haitian beach. He resembled a rock more than anything else, half of him buried into the dirt, the other half sticking straight up. He could hear vaguely around him, but most of it was muffled; as always, he was placated by the simple presence of conversation, the mere knowledge that there were others nearby who weren't wasting all of their free time on violence and slaughter.
Granted, they wasted it on things that were arguably just as bad; he couldn't begin to fathom why so many of them came here carrying laptops or phones or other ridiculously advanced pieces of technology he still couldn't quite dissect. He only knew that something down in him felt a sense of deep-seated loathing when he watched these people, trying so desperately to distract themselves from the world around them. It always left him feeling like he had to say something, do something; it made him want to reach out and start bashing skulls, to begin ripping souls free from their bonds, and gnashing his teeth. He knew it would achieve nothing. After this long, Yaksha knew with hideous intimacy how little his feeding frenzies really changed. But some voice deep back in his head told him that this world needed someone who could really remind them what was important.
But why should that be him? Just because he was old? Humans had grown quite old as well; he had begun to realize that the more he looked around, the more generations he could see walking alongside one another. Even great grandparents looked hale and hearty, ready to go for another few decades. And overpopulation? With space travel, could humans ever overpopulate? Unlikely. No, Yaksha was just as obsolete as always; he had changed his voice, changed his name, changed his form, but none of that changed what he was.
Yaksha was one of the angry dead. Getting angrier every moment. Because of the damned sounds of all of those game consoles nearby, because of the fact that he had somehow managed to nestle himself into this bank of sand for five hours without anyone even coming close enough to kick him, or touch him. Because he was feeling the hunger, that neverending throbbing ache, flare up again.
And most of all, because he knew he was never going to get that golden brown shade ladies always seemed to love. But he was a ghost, and he could afford to be patient. If he spent a few years trying to do the impossible, what did he lose out on? A few years passed like hours, when you were his age.

Karakura City was an interesting city, one that most people would probably say is the pinnacle of "different." Being a young man who knows mostly nothing about the world however, Saisei thought to it to be true that there were indeed places similar to the city. Haiti, for instance, seemed quite different from anything he could imagine. Lacking anything outside of a simple government, the country seemed alive with happy people in rays of sunshine. The harsh winter of Karakura only made the bright sun of Haiti seem like paradise.
Surprisingly enough, Saisei found his way to the island country through transit on a plane boarded to multiple stops in Yuudeshi Owned and free territories across the world. It was easy to decide from the list once Saisei stepped into their first destination. The warmth, the sand and water, things that Karakura didn't have with the addition of a sun that didn't hide to well made it far to easy for the child.
Stretch Saisei had finally awoken from what seemed eternal sleep on the soft sands of a Haitian beach, the sounds of people and their toys quickly filling his senses. He didn't understand technology well enough yet to understand the importance of the objects people held so closely, his coming of age making him all but ignorant. Nevertheless, this didn't keep the boy from informing himself when he could. Throwing himself into the waking world fully now, Saisei began a small trek across the sands, secluding himself while he had the time.
Each step sent waves of Chi energy through the small fragments of sand, his senses filling with his surroundings due to his special perks. Humans lacked anything outside of older age if they were born... normal, something that surely frustrated many of the people across the world. Lucky enough, however, the Chi Human crossing his way across the Haitian beach knew quite well what he could do. The Chi energy that found its way spreading outward finally came to a halt, informing Saisei of the nearby area relatively easily.
It seemed a little too late for the information to connect however, Saisei's barefoot slamming into a buried object right below his feet. Normally, the boy would have acted quite a bit faster to find anything of interest, the warm sun and sweet breeze seemed all too enticing to let the boy focus however. Jerking naturally from the object, he groaned and sighed, turning his attention to the soft sands.
"...Huh." Saisei didn't see much, but he knew well enough that a hollow existed beneath the warm sands before him. Rubbing his sore toe, he chirped up knowing that the Hollow wasn't exactly going anywhere. "You seem a bit busy, but if you aren't this could be the perfect oppurtunity for me. Got a sec?"

Yaksha, The Anthropophagus
And there it went; a disturbance to his perfect hideaway. He'd spent _hours_ coming to this side of the world, just so he wouldn't have to deal with the endless harassment. He'd even tried to hide his spirit energy, so he wouldn't have to worry about some random patrolling shinigami coming to give him another long, drawn-out lecture. But no, someone had found him. The exact method was something Yaksha would have to figure out, but for now, he had more pressing concerns. Yaksha rose from the sands, tiny granules dribbling off his body, as he slowly slid knife-like fingers between scales, digging out whatever tiny bits of sand were left.
He stared at the young boy, his eyes a piercing, beautiful shade of green; the sort of green that made one think they would've liked to stop and stare, and spend a good bit of time thinking of nice terms for them. Yaksha inhaled slowly, then gave out a slow, lazy snort at the child in front of him. His fingers waggled through the air slowly, slicing tiny trails through the particles of sand that been blown up by his sudden appearance. He hunched forward, and even so he still loomed over the young human. He didn't speak for several long moments, simply letting a long, mottled purple-and-red tongue dart out from beneath his mask, tasting at the air. There was power surrounding this mortal; subtle, quiet power, the sort of power that most hollows would've found endlessly appetizing. Yaksha, more than anything, just found it a bit of an entertaining quirk.
His voice, at the moment, was devoid of all class or civility. He spoke, ingraining every word with as much cold, gruff, curtness as he could manage. He twirled away, beginning to walk towards the nearest rock outcropping. He didn't even bother to look and see if the mortal would follow, simply began to slink off towards it with the sense of one walking towards the gallows.
"I've got time. Be quick about it."

"Well then, aren't you a big fella." The boy chuckled to himself, watching as the hollow found his way from the depths of the sand to a standing position. Despite his relative shortness, the hollow seemed to tower over the young child. Not many people stood so tall above the crowd, not from what Saisei knew at least. Nevertheless however, the human lacked any sense of danger as he watched the slow and precise picks of the creature. Nearly lost in thought, Saisei couldn't help but admire the snake-like hollow, his quite obvious distaste for being bothered was almost disturbing for a child. Taking one last and quick look, he began the tiniest of jogs around the man before jumping up in excitement.
"You'd be perfect. See I was wondering if you had the time t-" Making an about face, the hollow inched his way towards what Saisei could only assume was the large rock outcropping that sat nearly against the waters edge. Pushing forward at his side, the human child tucked at his shirt before grunting. He was small compared to the hollow but didn't mean he had to treat him like he was. The quick and cold words that slithered from his mouth must have been sickening to most, the bright child lacking any real notion in his word. Thinking the best of everyone had its perks though it also had its extreme weaknesses. Taking the lead now, he planted his feet next to the outcropping before the Hollow had found himself reaching it, turning and placing his hand out in a balled fist.
"I'm Saisei. I bet you were confused why I kicked you huh?" Beaming towards the hollow, the Chi Human chuckled and shook his head. "I knew you were there but I was a bit distracted. I'm sure you can understand a stubbed toe, right? Hahaha" Glancing towards the bright blue ocean, a strong breeze enveloped the boy. Shrugging and turning back towards the hollow, Saisei rubbed his chin before considering his options. At best the hollow would willingly accept his request, at worst Saisei would end up dead in the Hollow's stomach. Of course not all hollows were that way. Though Saisei doesn't remember much of what he learned, while living with his father for the short time that he had he was sure of the fact that any race had their outlying "special ones." That being the case, he pointed towards himself and boasted.
"You wanna fight? I ran into a young girl recently and had a really bad time. You won't really get it, but I think if I fight you the same thing could happen. If you want you can eat me if I lose? Maybe that's too much of a bet but I don't know what I could offer you." Taking yet another shrug and deep breath, Saisei sighed and rubbed his nose.
"I guess its only if you want to. I gotta start somewhere, even if it means I might die. Can't remember everything just standing around and stuff. Help a guy out right? Kids aren't always a giant annoyance right?"

Yaksha, The Anthropophagus
The hollow rose one hand dismissively, flicking it through the air. It was a slow, gently negligent gesture, something completely without urgency or intent; he could have been asking a person to stop pouring a glass of wine, or to stop speaking, or to commence some manner of horrendous torture. He didn't speak for a few more long seconds, walking towards the outcropping of rock.
"You realize any engagement will lead to me becoming a pariah in this community. They won't care about the reasons, or the mitigating circumstances. It'll be the big bad hollow bullying the squishy meatling. One soul is hardly worth the trouble that would bring."
He paused, his face twisting, writhing. There was something odd in his eyes, some faint glimmer of madness or confusion or uncertainty. He seemed to lapse into silence for a moment, staring off into the silence as his lips moved silently. One could almost believe he was holding a conversation with himself, or trying to remember something important. He didn't move for ten, fifteen, twenty seconds, save to murmur ever so softly, in various tongues.
In truth, Yaksha had felt it, somewhere deep inside of him; there was a sensation almost like a wrenching, or a gurgling. Had he been alive, he may have attributed it to indigestion, or nausea. But he was an immortal entity, unbound by simple concerns such as that; whatever was going on was far more nebulous, and likely lacked any real word for a human correlary. He inhaled once more, his mind almost reeling. He started trying to retreat inward, but it was...slow, this time. It was painfully, unpleasantly slow. Why couldn't he think? Why couldn't he focus? Normally all he needed was a few quiet moments to sit and meditate and-
Quiet. That was it. It must have been this boy in front of him. This insolent little shit, staring up at him like he was just any other person, treating him like he was nothing of note. Did he not understand that he was in the presence of an apex predator? That he was food, and he was alive only by the kindness of Yaksha's will? That he was such a tender frail little whelp and with a single hand he could reach out and snap the boy's neck and rip it off drink the blood suck out the marrow pluck the eyes one after the other and let the vitreous drench his throat and what in the hells was he even thinking?
Something was wrong. Something was horribly, hideously wrong, and there were questions that needed to be answered. Something had come horribly unglued in Yaksha and this little fucking brat was responsible and he was going to pay. And then, perhaps, he could consider how he was going to fix it.
"Fine. Give me a name, so I can know who to render your remains upon, should this end in your death."
