There was something to be said for silence. In many cases it was welcome, it was pleasant, it was serene. Many of the most beautiful things in the world were accompanied by nothing and that was what made it oh so beautiful. This was not one of those times. The entire city had gone silent, the entire city had gone dark. All means of communication from Las Anod had vanished overnight. When nothing had changed over the course of a few hours, ruling out a technical issue, Vastime deployed a military investigation in to what had occurred, separating them in to two squads and dispatching them to different centers of the city. One expedition was heading downtown and the other to the suburban area.
And the suburban area could be summarized in one word...silence. When the Vastimian expedition arrives, they would notice that any of the hustle and bustle that SHOULD have been present was completely gone. At sixteen hundred hours there should be a lot more activity. Children coming home from school, parents arriving home from work, parents forcing their children out of the house for a well deserved nap or some desperately needed privacy. Instead, what they would find is pristine mowed lawns, toys strewn across the streets, cars parked in their driveways and an utterly devoid of life neighborhood. Something was obviously wrong.
The Vastimian mission was, first and foremost, to re-establish communication with the rest of the world. The communications array for the suburban area was located near the borough center and it would, or at least should, be the destination for for this intrepid group of investigators. First they would need to get there though, with the best possible insertion point for the squad being a few miles of neighborhood away from the center. They would have quite a bit of ground to cover and homes to investigate on the way there...just what would they find?

Elis, The Nun
There was no doubt about this. Elis, was lost. She had wandered from her convent after sneaking out when the old crotchy Sisters weren't looking, and sprung out onto the world, looking for something to do. She had used what basic ability she had in the trick that got her moving considerably faster than any normal running person, but seemed to have gone to far with it, as right now she was nowhere she knew. And surrounded by people she didn't know as well. But, if she was good at anything, it was winging it and hoping it would all work out in the end, so she slid up to the ground and slotted herself in.
One of them, a rather cute girl - Elis was a little confused at the very title she had just given her, but ran with it because thinking about it would mean actually having to use her brain, and in this situation, that would just lead to disaster - sounded like she really knew what she was doing, so Elis stood next to her and nodded confidently. As if she really belonged her and wasn't just a stray out of nowhere like she actually was.
"Yes, getting moving is always good. Can't get anywhere if you don't move, after all. So we should totally move to our location and do the thing" She exclaimed, throwing out blather to show that she knew what she was doing, honest.

This operation was going to be one of obligation. The reason why the likes of Shatari Yuudeshi found herself on this incursion to investigate the radio silence from Somalia is because of the fact she was good allies with Hayden. He started out as one of her own, developed and grew beyond her wildest expectations. However, it wasn't exactly a bad time. She was happy and proud of him for managing to make a decent name for himself in this dog eat dog world.
However, she wasn't on this trip to go down memory lane. There were reports of "infected" creatures beginning to surface from the depths of various Somalian cities. While she wasn't quite sure what was going on yet, The Yuudeshi was more than ready to deal with the crisis in her mind. So long as she remained in contact with The Yuudeshi Network, she assumed she could send detailed reports of what was going on. And, if there was some sort of plague in this area, she was certain that up close observations of it could prove to be useful in creating a cure against it.
So, that is yet another reason why she was walking down the dead streets of this barren city. There was no point in calling for back-up yet as she had enough resources and tools to hopefully keep herself afloat if things should turn dangerous. And, judging by the silence around her, it would only be a matter of time before something came out and attacked. Being that she was born into a warrior based clan, it can be assumed that one grew a sense for this type of thing. And, based on that sense, it was a bit too quiet for her taste. Hence, it was better to set her sights on the two beings who had shown up to be a part of this mission.
One of them appeared to give off an energy signature which was that of a vizard. That meant that there was a good chance that this person was a part of the Vizard Corps. And the reason for this assumption is because of the fact that the higher-ups in charge of organizing this mission wouldn't send random civilians from Karakura. Although, she could be equally wrong in that assumption to. The Yuudeshi wouldn't really know until she opened up her mouth and ask.
Which is why she was curious when an almost powerless human was assigned to this mission. It was bizarre to her as she didn't seemed to be equipped with anything at all. As Shatari herself wasn't exactly the strongest Yuudeshi out there, but she prided herself on her equipment and how well she could use it with her tactician-esqe skills. So, it was obvious enough that she was going to have to help arm this person. Otherwise, she was doubtful they'd last. Therefore, when the silver haired Yuudeshi made her way over to the pair, she'd wave to them in order to make sure they knew it was an ally.
"Hey, hey, hey~! I take you two are on this incursion as well~? If so, the name is Shatari Yuudeshi and I think I'll be leading this mission."

- Spoiler:
- KARAKURA SCREAMERS
Item Name: Karakura Screamers
Item Type: Only Shatari is able to use this item
Used For: N/A
Item Description: The Karakura Screamers are a pair of dual-wielded hand-guns that Shatari uses in combat from time to time. Each of them are multi-barreled pistols which allow for the usage of many types of different bullets. She fills them up with a mixture of different bullets for ammo. An example of this is that the first chamber on each of the Karakura Chambers are extremely dense bullets made from the hardest diamonds known to mankind. Based on the variety of different threats out there, it doesn't matter if the threat is spiritual or non-spiritual, when combined with the extreme offense of the diamond bullet and the insane speeds in which it is fired; Shatari has estimated it's strong enough to even place a dent in stronger-level Hierro's.
Meanwhile, the second chamber within these weapons have the capacity to produce bullets charged by energy reactors within the guns which can otherwise crank up outputs which can slay higher-level opponents. An instance of this occurring were if Shatari had happened to charge up the cores of the Karakura Screamers, if used at a high enough level, she'll be able to craft shells which can shoot down metaphysical/spiritual attacks, take out hordes of Hollow's or Menos with ease and give her some form of protection against more high-powered threats.
On top of that, the Karakura Screamers can even be used as blunt weapons. For, with the diamond-like material they were comprised of, each of them have enough impact force to cause critical pain to creatures even on a Captain level if they were hit enough times by them in the form of pistol whips. Though, in this instance, Shatari may need to keep her speed up to otherwise prevent them from disarming her.
Other noticeable features in the Karakura Screamers is that they have the capacity to use highly advanced sensors to lock on to opponents within a five hundred meter radius of Shatari. By picking up on movements and energy signatures within the area, the dual-wielded guns will lock-on to this pulsation, Shatari will identify the threats through an external piece of equipment and then begin firing off round after round until something hopefully hits them; also adapting to a heat-seeking like nature.
Obtained From: The Cybermind
Yen Price: 5,000,000
Notes: The energized bullets will eventually overheat and stop if Shatari spams too often. Therefore, she needs to be careful she doesn't over-do it too much.
- Spoiler:
- The armor given is just a standard issue piece of armor from the Vangaurd. Since she is a warden, it is assumed she has access to material which can withstand cannon fodder attacks
Then, with a sharp look towards Elis, The Yuudeshi would scratch her head and begin to fiddle around with a holographic device. After inputting a few codes into it, a pair of dual-wielded guns emerged and she was able to give a pair to The Nun-like woman. Along with that, metallic armor appeared out of the device. It would cover the upper body of the human and would prove well enough for her not to get killed. As The Yuudeshi seemed intent on Elis picking it up; since Shatari nodded her head in the direction of it, as if instructing her to pick it up.
"The guns should be enough for you to put a dent into anything that might come our way. And the armor should hold up against any type of canon-fodder we might come across. As, according to my reports, we may be encountering some resistance as we have other agents dealing with hordes of these "infected" in another city. So be on guard."
Then, with a soft sigh, The Yuudeshi would put away her device and look at Azela for a few moments before smirking:
"And you are right: let's get this show on the road."
