Content Awareness: Value Your Writing More [Announcement]

«VALUING OURSELVES A BIT MORE»
We should all strive to deliver the best content we can on this site.
That's the best way I sum up this message and how to start this announcement. This isn't about myself, nor is this about anyone in particular. Instead, it's targeting an overall atmosphere and feel on the site as of late. Platinum Heart's has built a foundation over the past six years (nine if you've been with us since Untold Stories) that has been founded upon story, themes, plot and quality and engaging content.
So, I want to remind people to always strive to write their best and seek to create compelling material. Don't always flock to the most popular thing. Instead, try to create something solely for yourself and try to create meaning behind it. Don't just aimlessly wonder the site, seek to create a rich and fulling plot with a purpose and sentient behind it. Don't just make a character for the sole purpose of power, rank or smutting. That's not the proper way to write in order to make something worthwhile.
I want you all to think deeper about the actions your character has, the history that made them what they are and how to strive for something so much more than what they are. You can think of more complex material than just random goofy social threads, or endless amounts of smut. We have a world that is rich and ready to be explored if you have the imagination and determination to seek it out.
While change is an inevitability with anything in life, going forward with Platinum Hearts, I want everyone new and old to think about the content they are producing and trying to gauge it's quality, value, purpose and theme. I feel that if we come together on this as a community that it will do wonders for plots, events and missions going forward in the future. I don't want people who are new or old to feel pushed away because of the current atmosphere. I want us to be able to work on this together and figure out a way to get out of this funk as a community as I know we can do it.
Which is why I'm not going to preach any further. You understand the gist of this message by now. So, a little bit later, I do plan to make content community classes and I will give advice and tips on how to create more compelling content for those that want to listen, read or see it. I'll give those details out at a later date. I'll also take it upon myself to start mentoring members soon and trying to teach what I know to you so you can understand what I and others would like to see in the community.
And, at the same time, I would like any founding or older members of the site that have to time to pass their knowledge on as well to anyone you feel could use it.
If you have any comments/feedback/input? You are welcome to message me or leave any concerns or questions in the thread. I'm not pointing fingers at anyone, but I feel we can do better and I want to see us do better. I would rather not see something that has had so much blood and tears wither into social and smut threads. Both from myself and from others throughout the six years I and others have staffed and ran this site.
So remember: put more soul into your writing, please. We write for fun, yes, but don't let your material become elementary. You can do better.
