Soul Evolution: Project SERAPH [WIP]

What is Soul Evolution?



Soul Evolution is the awakening within the soul of the human race. With the ever increasing appearance of overwhelming powerful beings, the human genome created an almost mutational approach to aggressive genetic evolution. This evolution has given humans otherwise extraordinary, the abilities of more powerful beings of existence, being able to see beings of different planes. It has also given humans the ability of longevity, increased in physical attributes, special abilities that can manifest themselves as something akin to reality bending feats seemingly deemed physically impossible without the existence of magical influences. As one's tier can increase, their influence over there “Psionic Focus” can increase, giving them further control to bend reality, as well as other, more basic supernatural feats. These feats can include regeneration, super speed, levitation, increased physical levels. This will allow them to fight on par with the ever increasing strength of beings of spiritual nature, using their burning soul as their one, and only, shield.

The fine print:

Soul Evolution is influenced and detected as a mutational genetic difference within the human genome. This “evolution gene” is what allows this rapid change from the average, to extraordinary. While the abilities may manifest themselves within a large spectrum between weak and strong, one fact still remains: With use, one's power will increase.


Project: SERAPH


Soul Evolution humans have been known now for quite some time. Their existence slowly becoming more common in the realm of the living, among the kin of powerful beings. As they have grown more common in society, there are those who would seek to nurture this change, to either guide one along their development for scientific or militant reasons.

This is where the emergence of a movement begins. Project: SERAPH shows itself, an acronym for: Soul. Evolved. Reality. Altering. Psionic. Humans. This project was stimulated with the concept of bringing out the most of the evolution gene. This X factor that is capable of so many supernatural feats. At first, it was merely a concept thought up by a certain individual, which then became a dream, an action. By detecting this gene, isolating it, and researching the way in which it functions. It is found that many people have this capability and the emergence of soul evolved humans have become more common.


Soul Force


Is that catalyst on which a human is able to manifest their power. It differs from Chi in the sense that it is one's own stamina so to speak. It is generated within themselves, rather than gathered from outside sources. With very few exceptions, this is always the case. This ambient energy could be considered one's own soul, hence it's namesake. It is what gives a human the ability to be that much stronger, faster, even mentally sharper than someone without it's effect. It has been speculated that this will even give them the ability to live longer, heal from otherwise fatal wounds to regular humans. This could also be seen doubling as their life force. However, life force is the small bit of this that is reserved for one's own life. Tapping into this could produce incredible power, but at great risk. However, aside from that, it's not like it's something that can't be regained. Soul Force, as well as Life Force (albeit more slowly) can and will replenish, just like stamina. It may become unstable or stretched thin as it is trained and repeatedly pushed to it's limits, but in so doing this, the body as well as the soul grows stronger.


Psionic Focus


Psionic focus is the the phenomenon that occurs with all Soul Evolution humans, their soul adapts and melds into something of a unique being. With use, their soul can change and morph, producing a personalized set of abilities based on many factors. Fighting style, environments, climates, even diet and personality can play factors in this. An example could include a person from a cold climate producing an immunity to cold, as well as the ability to alter a very specialized portion of reality that can allow them to freeze things, emanate coldness, or otherwise reduce the temperatures of people and things around them. So long as a person can understand the fundamental way that allows their mind to logically reason their power to existence, it can manifest itself. Basically, the more they understand exactly how their ability works, the greater control they obtain over it. This, along with the conditioning of their soul are the two key ways to gain power.

How this can be affected by Tier:

A human will start to develop their psionic focus in tier 4, showing signs of what could have otherwise been mistaken for reishi as something fundamentally different. Their souls going through subtle metamorphosis as it changes and adapts. Some scientists have related this change to Darwinism, taking the survival of the fittest approach to how the powers develop. With this, it is nearly possible to produce calculated results by subjecting humans to similar conditions, all developing a psionic focus that stems from what they were subjected to, what they experienced. An example would be if a team were stationed on a submarine civilization, the ocean being a core part of their lives would cause their focus to develop in a way that makes life easier in harsh aquatic conditions.

From Stage 3, their focus can start to branch out, affecting more aspects of reality that are less conspired with the core focus they developed. These can be seen as more intricate levels of scientific variations. An electromaster who can generate electricity and shoot out electrical discharges might start to develop the ability to manipulate something like electromagnetism, or create plasma by exciting electrons. A telekinetic user may be able to understand that they can have more of a fine control over what they are capable of, perhaps developing a way to condense particles in the air into something of a air bullet.

From Stage 2, They can begin to awaken even greater facets of reality, perhaps producing things thought thematically impossible by physics standards. Fire in water, a telekinetic blade of physical matter created from seemingly nothing, impossible alchemical changes in the area around them.

From stage 1 and above, these powers can perhaps affect grand level scales, capable of altering city level aspects of our world.


Soul Shift


Soul Shift is the ability to physically manifest one's soul, or part of it, into reality. With this, one might consider producing protective armor, perhaps a weapon, or other catalyst that somehow helps to accentuate their abilities. As one's psionic focus becomes more prevalent and complete, as too will this form, until it is finally able to be used. This functions a lot like a shikai, or perhaps even a bankai, depending on the power level of this. It requires a constant drain on their soul force, but in turn grants them a greater affect on what they are capable of physically or otherwise.
