Falling Red Star (Invasion of Jamaica) Empty Falling Red Star (Invasion of Jamaica)

Artist: Adrian Von Zieglar - Song: Reign Of The Dark - Word Count:1058

The sun began to set above the coastal nation of Jamaica. The last shreds of light from the day began to fade, the dull glow of red fading to gray, then black. Though the effects of the Black world coming to be and the effects of the recent damage to the moon may have been plaguing this land before, a whole new threat was waiting in the sky above. They seemed like some kind of rogue Shinigami, floating above the country for fifteen or twenty minutes. As the darkness set in, it would be almost impossible to see the figure from the ground. The truth of the matter was far worse than a simple rogue that had decided to gaze upon the realm, but a monster beneath the flesh with fouler intentions in mind. As the last slivers of sunlight dissipated into the night, a smile crossed the Shinigami's face.

The robed figure resided close to Kingston, the largest city at the very edge of the country. A single hand raised in the direction of the city. The toll of the new age of spiritual warfare was present amid even the capital, but all the same, their society had risen to a less-developed, but still futuristic age only a few eras behind the leading nations of London, Japan, and the Americas. All the work put forth to reach such a stable state in a world driven by chaos? It would be gone in an instant.

A bright crimson light began to glow in the darkness. To the city of Kingston To those below it would appear like a vibrant red star, filling sky with traces of light. it spiraled, casting four beams of the same light across Jamaica that could be seen for dozens of miles. It remained there for some time, slowly getting brighter and starting to..spin? The four arcs of light rotated from the center of the glowing star, shifting from straight beams to arcing curves that set the sky a blaze with vibrant red color. It was at that point it would start to become clear that something was very, very wrong. Alerts began to spread to what defenses the coastal nation had, but it was already too late to stop the big bang that debuted the show.

From the star above, a massive beam of red light descended upon the center of Kingston! It fell in the blink of an eye, crossing from several miles above the ground to the surface in a matter of moments. The beam struck the ground in the center of multiple skyscrapers and apartments. Everything it touched was completely obliterated without fail. A giant hole was drilled through the island, cutting through tons of rock and metal with ease and cutting all the way through to the ocean below!! That was only the start of the damages though.

The same beam of light exploded! A wave of destruction spilled out from the ;point of impact, washing over the city and destroying everything in its path. Buildings were torn asunder and broken apart. People unfortunate enough to be in the capital at the time would die before they could comprehend the situation around them. Their bodies were burned to ash, incinerated in the blink of an eye. Men, women, children, workers, off-duty soldiers and many more all met their end in the blink of an eye, consumed by a blast of destruction from an unknown source. The destruction continued outward until it reached the coast, falling into the ocean and disappearing into the waves. A wall of red steam started to rise from the excess energy boiling the ocean itself in the immediate area. It clouded the black sky in a tint of red, further obscuring the land's vision of the cause.

The star faded away, along with the enormous beam that consumed the majority of the nation's capital. Fragments of the city remained, alongside a small number of those in more durable structures or who were strong enough to survive the explosion. The grounds were razed, fire and toxic smoke rising from the ashes. What was the point of it all? This sudden destruction from an unknown entity that even now was shrouded by the darkness.

Did there need to be a point?

The Hollow-infested Shinigami turned away from the city, turning to the next city that was closest to the fallen capital.Saint Andrew..Nothing too important, but it was the closest. They walked away from the rubble and remains of Kingston's corpse Their intentions were uncertain, but the feeling that slowly spread across Jamaica would tell them the tale in advance. This destruction would continue with no warning or message given beforehand. They walked slowly, a dark energy exuding from their feet with every step. The next target would have ample time to collect their military and call for aid. The Capital, however, was not given that luxury. Minutes began to pass until the next attack would ravage another city in the formerly uninvolved coastal nation. If no one cared to deal with this invader?

The whole of Jamaica would become one of the sea's largest graveyards.

Blackheart had been enjoying a day off in the sun, far from the pain and the misery of the vanguard office, a flowered hawaiian shirt of a pinkish color covering his rippling upper torso while his lower seemed to be covered by a pair of simple slacks. That being said he had currently been minding his own business, sipping from the lovely strawberry margarita he had gotten from a near by vendor. There was nothing quite like kicking back for a day half way across the planet and eluding the ever growing stack of paperwork he’d have to deal with when he got back, however as he was enjoying this perfectly sunny day? The sun didn’t even seem so bright anymore, there was a . . . Tinge in the air that was almost irritatingly demonic in it’s nature, and around this time the sky even started to turn red as he looked up at what seemed to be an oncoming cero. As people scattered like flies Blackheart could have done many things to counteract it or even stop it outright however the demon was as they would say it? Rather reluctant to do anything on his day off, as if you ever got a day off from protecting the planet from idiots like this.

Hence he had stepped in front of the blast and raised a hand, and then he had as the cero grew and came closer done one ridiculously simple thing. He had swatted it to the side as if it was a pest, utilizing the super compressed demonic energy on his skin and akuma kyodo to allow him to merely reflect the beam off at an angle to shoot off into the clouds. This of course would have blown a massive hole in the fluffy white that floated lazily in the sky, yet Blackheart wasn’t really concerned about that to be completely honest. He was more interested in making sure people got evacuated, hence why he would have taken his margarita and downed it in a few huge gulps tossing the glass it had been in to shatter against the ground. Then the male had looked around for the figure that had caused such a thing to happen in the first place, his expression remaining neutral, calmly assessing the situation as it unfolded rather than getting overly worked up about it, seeing as there was no reason to get flustered, if he didn’t remain calm, he would probably lose lives as he had on the moon, it was simple as that.

Next as a warning Blackheart allowed his dense spiritual pressure to climb, completely untraceable and unable to be felt by the mortals below, simply because? The amount of demonic energy that the First Unknown was emitting was absolutely monstrous. It would project outwards in terms of raw pressure and cause buildings to tremble slightly within a quarter block radius around him. This was the warning, to show that while he didn’t know who he was fighting, that he had more than enough energy to beat the living shit out of them if need be, he wasn’t afraid of bashing a few heads when it came to the safety of the greater good, and it was also because of this that the male would have sat down on the ground. Sure he could “AttacK’ or “Chase” but the problem was if he did that it left this place unprotected, which would mean people could die without him being able to protect them. Hence why blackheart even in his sitting state was well aware of his surroundings thanks to the sensory input from his zao ka’s natural abilities. Finally he seemed to scratch the back of his head before he said to himself in a grumble.

”..I come here for some peace and quiet and what do i get? Moron’s with ego trip’s that’s what. Maybe i should just lock myself in my room next time and do a virtual dive. “

All said and done, Blackheart currently wasn’t the happiest of campers, even if he didn’t show that he wanted nothing more than to pummel who ever tried that stupid stunt into the ground like a drum. However he knew his limitations and stuck by them, and he waited to see what would happen next.

Artist:Darkness OST - Song:Trinity Church - Word Count:2022

The nameless fiend watched over the darkening city as their blast rocketed toward the ground with the foulest of intents. In moments a large chunk of Kingston would be reduced to molten ash, the explosive follow-up sure to cause damage for countless miles and sending that many more souls to a premature grave. There was no reason to wipe out entire cities like this, no revenge or desire for land to breed that destructive intent. If it were the land they were after, reducing the entire country to ruin was the last thing someone would want to do. Then what was it?

The only reason for this attack was to draw them out. Them could have been anyone, from the hoards of weaker soldiers that defended the boarders from other bits of fodder, to someone on the scale of the Earth's wardens or the Captain's of the soul society. Unexpectedly, it seemed someone was already there before the assault began and the visions of devastation the unseen monstrosity had for the coastal nation were swatted away. The enormous cero was struck, its impact not even resulting in an explosion. Instead it had been cast back to the sky where it had been fired from. The massive beam of light past through the darkness, piercing a giant hole in the clouds and lighting up the shadows in a malevolent red glow.

The one that launched the attack would be visible for a brief moment, their cloak of shadows dispersed by the red glow of the beam . A exceedingly muscular Shinigami stood amid the sky, their face covered by a visor that stretched entirely around their head like a ring. Their body in general was an abomination, pumped with an excess of drugs and technological augmentations that killed many of the features they once had. Its purpose was solely to serve as a biological machine of war, kept in captivity whenever that purpose was not being fulfilled. Traces of black energy coursed around them, appearing like a cloak with how close it was to their body. It turned its gaze downward to the point where its blast had been deflected, the technology across their face picking up an excess of information from that simple act alone. Scanners narrowed down to verify the exact point where the blast had been reflected.

What was far more surprising than its attack being deflected was the nature of the one that did so. The burst of energy that rippled out as a means of warning made it much easier to confirm what they were. It was a Demon, and an exceedingly powerful one at that. He heard nothing about one of the higher ranking members of Shadowfall coming here when the assault was planned, so who were they? Was it a rogue of some sort with extraordinary might that had claimed this place as their own? In any event, a product of interest was already here, so now all there was to do was claim it. The Shinigami smiled, their own power beginning to flow from their body in response to the Danava's threats.

Whatever the sky-bound soul was, their spiritual energy was not only extremely unorthodox, but as overwhelming and suffocating as some of the most powerful fighters across the globe. The atmosphere almost seemed to contort above, the pressure alone causing structures directly beneath the floating menace to sink down into the Earth. There was a duality to their presence, a mix of Shinigami spiritual pressure and a very apparent mix of Hollow energy. One could assume it was a Vizard, if not for some clear differences between them. Unlike a Vizard, the Hollow energy that resonated from the Monarch was far more foul and corrupted. There was an unmistakable sense of malice and killer intent not derived from instinct, but the desire to cause suffering and pain purely for the sake of it. The clearest giveaway was the manner in which these twin powers reacted to one another. The energy of the unseen Hollow was the dominate force considerable. it was like they were not a Shinigami at all, but a Vasto Lorde calling upon the power of one much as Vizard called upon the power of a Hollow.

Just as the last traces of light faded in the ever-darkening sky, the genetically-mutated Shinigami took a step forward. Their body vanished in an instant, using trace amounts of energy to surpass their already seldom matched pace with the augmentations of shunpo. They crossed the large field of distance between the sky and the man responsible for bringing an end to what could have been a glorious display of destruction. There were no words or sign of hesitation in what followed, only an immediate assault without restraint, pause, or warning.

The bio-weapon of a Shinigami appeared in front of Blackheart, their speed and strength causing the ground beneath their feet to be broken apart just from the moment they landed. Tremors spread across the city as earth and concrete broke apart and scattered through the air like shrapnel. The nameless being was already poised to strike, their visor picking up on an excess of data each second on the out-of-place Danava. The cloak of dark energy continued to flow around them as they moved, covering every opening of their defenses as they moved to attack to ensure nothing got in the way of this Unknown's first taste of pain.

The punch that followed moved at sonic speeds, their arm blurring as a single fist was cast toward the center of Blackheart's body. Embers sparked to life from the speed and power of the strike causing the air itself to ignite If it were to connect without opposition? An explosive of kinetic force would ravage the Demon, easily enough to send most combatants flying off of their feet and out of the general area entirely! Fortunately there was going to be something to break their fall if things went as intended. The strike was poised with a target in mind, intending to knock the Danava into one of the largest buildings close by where people were trying to evacuate. The goal of this science experiment gone wrong wasn't just to harm the man that got in its way, but use the as a projectile to shatter the very city they intended to protect!

If nothing altered the course of the attack, the impact force would be more than ample enough to break Blackheart through the steel walls of the structure and send rippling waves of kinetic force through it with enough intensity to shatter the entire structure and bury anyone still inside under hundreds of tons worth of rubble! That was only if everything went as planned though. In either case, this wasn't the end of the prolonged assault either! For the first time, the abomination spoke, their voice cold and without feeling, but otherwise normal compared to every other oddity that composed their existence.

" Hadō thirty-three...Sokatsui."

Whether Blackheart was still in close-range after successfully defending or had bee cast away by the punch a moment ago, all that would change is the angle of the spell and the posture when casting it. Using the other hand, the controlled puppet gathered their energy for he spell instantaneously, alongside the tainted power of the beast in their soul. The spell was altered as well. Rather than light-blue flames, a crimson ember formed in the center of their palm. An excess of spiritual energy spilled out from their hand, hinting at how much power was being put into the upcoming spell. The dark energy that moved around them acted reflexively to defend the Shinigami for the brief moment their attack charged. The already damaged landscape would sink, compressed under the weight pf the duality of power working in forced harmony to create strength unlike what many single souls could ever conjure.

If nothing were to cease the spell? Devastation would follow. A massive storm of crimson flames spilled out from the mutated Shinigami's palm. It easily consumed anything in front of it, melting the ground and leaving an enormous crater beneath it as it moved. It didn't have the same explosive potential as the earlier cero, but it made up for it by being a -much- larger attack in design. The pillar of spiritual fire raised high enough to consume entire buildings. It stretched outward to cover as many structures and induce as much damage on the surrounding area s possible in a single move. On top of its odd shading and feel, the power of the spell was also drastically amplified by the corrupt energy coursing through it! This would not only make it more difficult to stop, but drastically increase the numbers of defenses it could burn through to steal the lives of those hiding away in some of the more durable structures as well. The flames flooded entire blocks, melting steel and breaking apart architecture..Any damage it inflicted on Blackheart was a bonus, but it wasn't the goal.

The stream of flames died off as quickly as they were conjured. The last races of the kido split from the creature's palm. Whatever the result of spell against the Danava's ability to defend against it and protect the city, the immediate area around him was in ruin. The might of those two attacks together had crushed the ground into a large crater, obliterating any objects that were close by and cracking or melting down the sides of close-by structures. The visor around their face was overclocked, picking up as much data as it could and trying to find a file on this unknown Demon. Despite the vastness of their database, there was hardly anything on them, like their existence wasn't something most were intended to know of. It perplexed the formless parasite, filling them with a sense of curiosity to pick Blackheart's brain for whatever their purpose and history was. Maybe they would even suffice as a new vessel of war!

The augmented Shinigami lowered their palm after the sudden blast, giving the dust time to settle so he could evaluate how successful his efforts had been and defend from counter-attacks as required. One thing was for sure though..If these two were to fight here? The city wasn't going to survive it. The entire country may have been in danger depending on what kind of retort the Danava had to offer. The Shinigami smiled, speaking again if it was given a chance to in the wake of that last attack. Their tone shifted, becoming more uplifting with a clear sense of arrogance and curiosity.

" Now, this isn't something I expected to see. I thought you would be aware of my intentions today. I informed everyone important, so why is a Demon here to get in the way? "

Down the enemy descend like a star that had fallen from the very heavens themselves, a star of such corruption that it was repulsive to the danava. Garbed in a cloak of darkness he landed and almost instantly went about his assault, one that blackheart in all honesty couldn’t avoid, not because it was too fast but because simply speaking? He Couldn’t Let anyone die and until everyone evacuated it was his duty to protect them, hence as he gritted his teeth the punch impacted his stomach his skin if viewed in slow motion would ripple outwards like a wave, contracted muscles visible like iron beneath his skin the impact that caused a sonic boom to spread out across his skin would be considered enough to cause the very ground immediately behind the danava to shatter like it was simply playdoh that had dried out under the sun. He’d take only a step back with his left foot planting it upon the ground to increase his resistance against the punch, a huge bruise already appearing on the male's body where most would have been shattered by such a blow but, he? He Was Combat incarnate. To punch him with a fist was to punch the incarnation of bare handed combat itself. Hence he’d not move from his spot other than the single step back he took, the ground having bunched up behind his foot forming a wall from the force he exerted his eyes staring forward as at that point, if someone was to slow down time until it was at a millionth it’s normal speed? They might catch the fist that came forward in slow motion.

However in real time? It would be as if his fist teleported brutally into the opponent's face, earth shattering in the following implosion of air that had trailed behind his punch. This force would time it that as the opponent had begun to cast their kido? His other fist would crash through the blast, causing it to explode on the spot the force of it only thanks to the demon’s ability for bodily manipulation letting him harden his skin into something akin to steel would only the outer layer of the skin on his fist be incinerated from the blast, The dust and debri from the previous clashes being blown away from the recoil all the rubble cleared from the crater that had sunk in the ground the Demon’s body shifting as he seemed to rotate at speeds that brought the wind itself up around and then released in a wave at near instantaneous speeds from the very edge of his foot. The result? A wave of air that most likely with it’s gale force winds would be enough to throw The Danava’s Opponent back like a ragdoll tossing them up into the air as the males foot then planted firmly on the ground steam rising from his still smoldering fist. The biting sensation was all but unnoticeable

Blackheart still firmly believed that his day off was his day off, however as he let loose a barrage of punches which was ended by a firm but lightning fast reverse scissor kick he had to admit that it kinda had turned out to be a shitty one all the same. Only after landing on his feet and assessing the situation would he actually get into fighting stance, wincing at the bruising on his body from where the punch actually had hit him, then he’d go through the process of popping dislocated joints back into their rightful places, rotating his arms, poping his neck a few time, and finally? He’d spit a glob of sludge lookin blood to the side , the internal bleeding already beginning to diminish in his body since while he was strong, he wasn’t impervious that punch even with his iron like muscles still had caused some damage. A fact that made the Davana arch his brows in mock suprise before finally he settled into something akin to a fighting stance, weight evenly distributed through the center of gravity, rolling from his toes to his heel’s a bit as he planted his rear foot at a 90 degree angle in comparison to his front foot creating an L shape.

Artist:H.E. DEMON - Song: Chilling Elegy - Word Count:2607

The first strike connected, the landscape being crushed under the monstrous strength of the mutated Shinigami clashing against the Danava's form. A few things became clear in that brief moment. The way Blackheart didn't even try to evade what would have been the easiest attack to dodge in the coming encounter. There was a flinch you noticed in someone that wanted to dodge, but was just overwhelmed so much that their body failed to move. Such a motion never occurred in that flash of an instance,, further reinforced by how durable the man proved to be with the strike drilling through their flesh and bones. It was their full intent to take the hit and absorb all the punishment alongside it, but why purposely take damage one could above?

To stop the eruption of force from devastating the city around them. Now there could be a number of reasons why someone could chose to endure the strike, but the sole invader's focus was on the expression of his first target's face. The look in their eyes, the mannerisms present across their form in this very abrupt conflict spawning around them. He didn't conclude that they wanted to protect the city by how they acted, but how they didn't act. Were taking the hit for observational purposes, the warrior's focus would be more directed toward the monster in front of them. They lacked the feel of utter madness to lead some in the Demon realm to stand take that kind of strike head on without good cause. What tied it together was pairing this with the scene that dawned the conflict to begin with. They purposely moved to deflect his attack and stop the devastation that followed. He wasn't sure of it at first, but this reinforced it.

Deduced in the fraction of a second between the strike connecting and the next scene that followed, the Monarch had gathered one thing to take advantage of already. The great thing about that kind of opponent is they would gladly expose themselves to even death to protect the faceless swarm of Humans that lacked any means to fight back against the rising age of darkness. Where they gave up in efficiency, it returned to them in resolve. But resolve was pointless if never given time to build!

Just as the first counter-attack was thrown toward Ruvik's face, the waves of dark energy around him moved together at the exact spot the punch would land! The Shinigami' body didn't move a muscle, conducting his will through the cloak of corrupted energy around him to defend from any attack to come his way and give him all the room he needed to press the offensive. The majority of the cloak disappeared, coming together to form an exceedingly dense layer of black that mirrored the sized and shape of the coming punch. However, not only did it instantaneously move and condense into a proper defense, but the very texture and form of it changed as well! When the punch was only inches away from connecting, layers upon layers of sharpened spikes protruded from the small, but immensely powerful barrier. If the attack continued? Blackheart's fist would meet a wall of stabbing knives sharp enough to cut ino flesh and puncture muscle. However, going forward with the attack wouldn't be without merit! As soon as the fist pushed through the spikes the surface of the barrier would shatter! Pieces of dark energy fragmented away, spilling through the air like shards of broken glass. For a defensive it didn't seem all that durable!

However, where it lacked in durability, it hd insane versatility. While the surface of the defense was broken? Hundreds upon hundreds of additional layers, nearly on the microscopic level remained behind it! Each protruded more razor-sharp spikes to cut through their hand time and time again. One layer shattered after the next, a new layer of daggers attempting to rip apart Blackheart's flesh and spill copious amounts of blood from their hand. This use of layers would quickly break down the momentum of the punch, slowing it and reducing the force behind it as it shattered one layer, then the next. Even if they were to redirect the strike? The barrier would move alongside it, acting as a constant and annoying bridge between their strike and its destination. That was far from the worst of it though.

Presuming things progressed to that point, where the power behind the attack had been almost completely neutralized, the dark power shattered by the immense force it garnered would return! Not only that, but it took on new form. Instead of reinforcing the shield, the returning energy rapidly attempted to build around Blackheart's fist! It trailed along their knuckles and palm, progressing downward toward their wrist and forearm at shocking speeds. This was no longer -just- a defensive play, but a means to capture the man's limb and place them in an ever-worsening situation. Much like the original defense, daggers began to spill from this glove-like construct and aimed to pierce Blackheart's flesh even further. If possible, they would enter through wounds already opened by the wall of spikes a moment ago, Only unlike before, these constructs shifted into a slightly different shape. If everything went accordingly, the protrusions would change under the surface of the Danava's skin. They grew prongs, taking on the form of hundreds of small hooks that aimed to latch on to muscle and flesh and further reinforced the bind this dark essence had on the Danava. Though this bind was still far from unbreakable, freeing yourself from it would come at a cost. The hooks would rip apart their flesh and muscle from the inside as a result of their new shape, using the strength of his victims's own resistance to enforce their suffering.

What happened next and how the Unknown responded could vary, but one of two things were most likely. In one case, they would break free from the bind and sacrifice their next attack to defend or escape. In that scenario, the kido would fire as intended. In the other situation where they remained to strike the blast with their other limb?

Ruvik had a limited essence of his cloak to work with, and using it all was essential to having any effect against a higher caliber opponent like Blackheart. This left his hand with no apparent defense from the second attack..But that was perfectly fine. With the visor increasing his reaction time and vision even farther than they already were, he could register what was going to happen. The kido would continue to glow in preparation to fire, but in those split moments, the energy behind it was redirected. The spirit of the Hollow worked to block and contain their arm while the body it controlled was given orders to redirect the flow of energy from their left-hand to the fist that remained in close contact with the Danava's chest. In addition, rather than try to avoid the punch by shifting the position of his arm, he thrust it forward, slamming what energy had been gathered right into the coming punch! Needless to say, devastation followed. The construct of spiritual energy detonated prematurely, sending a wave of potent flames and energy toward both of them and consuming the immediate area around them. It was drastically less potent than the completed blast, but powerful all the same! Burns appeared along the Shinigami's left-arm and hand, traces of the energy even striking his side and burning through his apparel.

What was more devastating was the impact force of the punch against his palm. Where Ruvik had overwhelming raw power, it was clear that Blackheart was well versed in technique and actually applying their power in a manner far more efficient than most. Even with the metal alloys under the husks skin providing an exceedingly potent defense to any attack, fractions of then defense were broken through, multiple bones in the hand fracturing. The throne wouldn't let injury get in his way though! His opened hand clenched around the second punch, aiming to hold them in place and match the Demon's technique and form with unwavering force and absolutely zero restraint! It was at this moment that the final act of this assault came to debut itself.

Vibrant rays of crimson light spilled outward from the same fist that remained against the Vanguard Operative's body. In the short period all of this took place, the Hollow skillfully transferred the remaining energy from the kido and additional power into their hand for a quickly conjured cero! Lack of preparation or not, it would be foolish to think any kind of cero was harmless, and that was especially true for a master at the art like Ruvik. His fist opened up, revealing a large sphere of pulsating destructive energy! The ground once again began to shake, the light growing brighter in the smallest time frame possible for the blast to fully form. The two restraints in place alongside the abrupt nature of it all were hopefully enough to pull off the stunt.

The malevolent man smiled,, unsure what kind of effect this would have on his foe Never-the-less, it was going to hurt. Were nothing to stop him, a potent cero would be released point-blank at Blackheart's chest! While lacking in size and explosive power compared to the earlier attack, it did not like in piercing strength and obliterating force. The Monarch's efforts were to drill straight through his opponent's body, incinerating their flesh, bones, and organs in the range of the blast. At the very least the attack had the strength to inflict serious burns and push most combatants on their level back! It could easily knock them through the stone wall behind them, shattering it and continuing to push them forward until they met a structure durable enough to force the cero to detonate and consume them in another veil of burning flames and crushing power.

In any event, the Vasto Lordes would take a step back at that moment, putting a small bit of distance between them, were the former blast not to send them flying. His arms fell to his side, the pitch black darkness that defended from the strike quickly dispersing to its cloak-like state. It would be clear now that it was not just an aura, but an entire tool of its own creation to be bent at the beast's will. Though unlikely, if the follow-up attack were to continue as planned from the opposing warrior, Ruvik would respond accordingly, taking an approach just as aggressive as before, if not more so!

The dark cloak shifted again, coming together as a large, but thinner dome of energy in front of him. It completely nullified the rising wind, breaking it apart and sending the currents to his sides. Though this defense would appear to cloud the man's vision, that was far from the truth. The blanket of darkness was only visually dense, easily able to be seen through by the visor over the puppet's eyes. Whether Blackheart took the opportunity to assault him in that instance or waited a moment was irrelevant.

If the assault continued, the cloak would rapidly condense once again to the reinforced barrier from but a moment ago. The exchange that followed would not be in Blackheart's favor. One punch was stopped by the moving barrier that darted from place to place, copying the exact same spiked tactic as before. One hand focused on defending from the the strikes the barrier could not, and that left Ruvik with one arm left to attack with and no opposition to get in his way! The Shinigami pushed forward, defending from the barrage while returning dozens of attacks for the defender's body! Each strike carried immense destructive potential, producing shock-waves that ripped apart the landscape and would tear apart any structures in their path from the projected force of any that were dodged.

In the short length of the clash, the wounds present in the puppet's hand had already healed completely! Though difficult to notice, this would become apparent with his hand regaining its full strength just in time for the closer. The left-most throne leaped into the air, rising well above the kick and his adversary in a single leap. The barrier split itself apart quickly, encompassing his body in the thick cloak of darkness once again. It didn't take long for gravity to take effect and for the Hollow-controlled Shinigami to descend toward Blackheart from above. The dark energy encompassing them moved to make a large shield of sorts between them as he fell, preventing the normal eye from tracing him at ground level. Meanwhile, the visor on his face gave him a perfect view of everything going on through the veil of shadow. As one might except, this was nothing more than a distraction.

As soon as the Danava opted to dodge or attack upwards into the darkness, Ruvik would use that very barrier as a platform to step on. He vanished in a flash of speed at the last second. Any attack toward the barrier would easily split it and reveal no one on the other side. Instead, the augmented villain would appear in the Vanguard's blind spot at that moment in time, a final strike cast to give further reminder what kind of battle this was going to be. A blazing hay-maker soared toward the back of his adversaries head, intending to bash them with as much raw power as his current state allowed. It was more than ample enough to crack open even a durable fighter's skull and send them flying or crashing into the ground with megatons of force. The possessed Shinigami landed on their feet without issue, the cloak of corrupt energy rapidly returning to them and encompassing their entire body as it did at the start of the battle. He was curious how this foe would adapt to everything and if they had any tricks to even the playing field.

Only time would tell. The fiend continued smiling, crimson eyes locked on the Danava with intent that not only screamed death, but oblivion and bedlam!
