Artist: Mogeko Castle - Song: MaouDamashii Town 10 - Word Count:

Kamui had spent the majority of the earlier morning, having woken up their canine friend so early that it could barely be considered morning, taking Yuki up the very mountain that they had spent so much time hiking through the wilderness for. He had brought them here to take Yuki to her new, momentary master and school, but the mountain did provide a unique opportunity for Sophia as well. Even if wilderness training in the mountains was not as stereotypical as humanly and, coincidentally, inhumanly possible, it was something that was patently effective. He did not see a reason for either himself or Sophia to be especially above it, regardless of the stereotyping afoot.

Sophia had asked for something rather specific. Unlike her partner in crime and Kamui's other student, Yuki had solely wished to grow stronger. Where that path would lead her was open and very, very up for interpretation. It offered a lot of creative freedom and it was freedom that Kamui was more than willing to take advantage of, but it was directionless by itself, aimless wandering. Sophia by the inverse knew EXACTLY what she wanted and while that did take some of the inventive fun away from the process, it did make Kamui's job considerably easier. She had completed the edges of the puzzle for him and he simply had to fill up the pieces in the middle.

Kamui pushed through the foliage, popping out in to the little clearing they had been using as a camp and letting his eyes search for Sophia as the sun finally reached a height that the conventional human would actually consider morning. She wanted to learn Shunko, which was going to be a challenge for Kamui in and of itself. Sugiuran magic was heavily structured by necessity, simply enforcing your will upon reality without any kind of focus was a bottomless well that had many, many inherent risks. If the feat you attempted to accomplish required too much energy, you'd fall in to that well and drain yourself of your very life before the phenomenon had finished being fulfilled. It was why the concept of Shunko, the raw magical amplification of all physical faculties, sounded implausible to Kamui. At the same time however, Sophia was hardly the first time he had heard of the ability and while the actual method of acquiring the technique was obscured to him, he knew very well that it had taken the creator hundreds of years to develop the craft and the ones who followed after her were not much more expedient than Yoruichi was. It was a frustrating puzzle, but that was also what made it worth while. He also had what he hoped would be the first step in crafting what she had asked him for...and if it didn't exactly pan out, well, the ability Kamui was intending to teach her was at the very least useful in its own right. And with that, there was not much point

"Sophia, are you ready to go?"

PLAY ME MUSIC <3

Burning Fire and Desire

Artist: Hannah Huston - Song: When A Man Loves A Woman - Word Count: 404

So many worries and thoughts crossed her mind. She wanted to know if everything would still be okay while she was gone. Was she being a good director? Was taking this leave the best thing for her comrades. She made meticulous preparations for this event. She had set back up plans on back up plans. There were contingencies for the contingencies. She knew very well that there were dangers encroaching on the Soul Society. But, she was a great leader so she prepared for any event that could possibly happen. There was also one other worry that lingered through her mind. She closed her eyes and envisioned the energy around her. Would it be possible for her to even learn shunko? That technique was extremely difficult and she feared not being able to do it. Silence. Opening her eyes, "I will never limit myself."

Sophia looked onward as the sun began to shine through the sky. She breathed in the environment. The wilderness, trees, wildlife and fresh air. These are things Sophia appreciated day-to-day. But, to not have to deal with the hustle and bustle of the Healing Corps it was nice to share this moment with Kamui. Sophia gazed around their surroundings. Surveying the land, "The energy in this area is so easily shaped..." Since there were no other individuals reliant on spiritual energy and reiastu, energy was readily available to be bent and manipulated. Sophia turned away from Kamui looking at her back, her tails shining brighter than they usually do. Swinging her curves, her tails danced in front of her, she smiled playfully at Kamui.

Slowly Sophia's posture straightened, "I apologize.. I have no intention of making light of this training session. It's just the way I cope with certain situations." She slowly bowed and smiled brightly, "I'm ready whenever." She wanted to show Kamui her prowess with spiritual particle manipulation. The reishi in the air began to thicken as they danced around the two. The particles formed into pink petals as they began to culminate around Sophia's hands. Wrapping themselves around her hands, they gripped tightly forming translucent pink glove-like accessories on her hands. Bringing her hands up to her face in a boxing position, "Give me your best shot."

Kamui's head tilted slightly to the side as Sophia waved her tails around and seemed to marvel at just how much energy she had at her disposal to play around with. The mountain was a spiritual hot bed, not so dissimilar from Karakura, and the sheer immensity of it had apparently not been lost on Sophia. The school on the top of the mountain where Kamui had sent Yuki off to, while its population being a fraction of Karakura or Seireitei itself, had kept the hollow population to a minimum on the mountain. It would seem that, unlike her partner, she had picked up on just how potent the very air was for a Shinigami and the sheer vibrant nature of the woman's reishi tails was demonstrating that. As such, it was coincidentally the best place to practice the particular brand of madness that they were attempting to embark upon. Kamui was almost jealous. He was a being that held neither Reiatsu nor could he truly really feel it. His body recognized it as energy, but he'd never see the world in the same scope Sophia would, none of his people would until they took their own world back. As such, to Kamui this was a mountain and not a whole lot else. However, her reaction provoked a laugh from Kamui. He was not entirely sure what about their interactions made her think that he was an overly serious individual. Power manifested in many forms and not all of them mandated a frown.

"Sophia, did you know that procrastination is actually healthy in moderation? There have been quite a few studies on the topic. Being able to divert attention from a difficult task and muse over and complete simpler tasks actually allows you to develop quite a bit of added productivity toward your main goal. You'll never be scolded by me for letting your mind wander in non-critical situations. If you take everything too seriously, you'll die having never enjoyed anything."

Kamui's head tilted further at her next proposal however, as she asked for his best shot. That was a...brave request. Though, Kamui had a general idea of how to approach this. Sagumi had liked this mountain, that's why there were two artifacts located here and in time, Kamui would bring Sophia to her own, but at the moment he was not entirely sure that she was able to claim it. If he had his way after today though, she would be on her way to doing so. However, no training would be complete without a lot of theoretical monologues and Sophia was going to in no way be exempt from that.

"I am not a Shinigami, so correct me if I'm wrong, but there are two ways in which to cast a Kido spell. The first is to use an incantation and channel the power of the spell through the words. The second is to forgo the incantation and settle for a weaker, but easier to use variant."

As Kamui spoke, Sophia would notice energy, psions to be specific, coalescing around Kamui's hand. It was an Ancient Magic, Steel Qiqong, as the energy began swirling around Kamui's hands, ramping up the energy and prospective destructive power swirling around Kamui's hands. Ancient Magic wasn't his forte, his advent of the Modern Magic system was definitely more his style, but he could hardly be considered un-proficient at it. Sugiuran Magic was a little too different than Shinigami Kido to really offer direct instruction for her. He was not going to be able to teach her his own abilities, but he hopefully would be able to put obstacles in her way for her to power through while pushing her toward what she needed to learn.

"You sacrifice power for speed...but what if you didn't have to sacrifice two seconds of muttering to yourself? The chant is a medium...but you can already form Reishi around your hands like a glove. That denotes a level of control beyond what a Shinigami is typically capable of. Why limit yourself to only having a chant as a medium?"

Kamui moved quickly. She had seen him move at maximum speed before and this wasn't it, but it was still fast enough to give even the most devout speedsters pause. The cyclone of energy around Kamui's fist would lash out, snaking forward to strike the Reiatsu enhanced palms before him, looking to test just how strong the energy she had managed to gather there was. Regardless of how well the energy held up though, the sheer force from Kamui's blow, if Sophia decided to block it, would be enough to push her back quite a few feet and potentially even remove her of her balance. If he ever hoped to teach her to use her Hakuda as a medium for her Kido, they were going to have to make sure she was proficient enough in both to even dream of combining them.
