Artist: Mogeko Castle - Song: MaouDamashii Town 10 - Word Count:
Kamui had spent the majority of the earlier morning, having woken up their canine friend so early that it could barely be considered morning, taking Yuki up the very mountain that they had spent so much time hiking through the wilderness for. He had brought them here to take Yuki to her new, momentary master and school, but the mountain did provide a unique opportunity for Sophia as well. Even if wilderness training in the mountains was not as stereotypical as humanly and, coincidentally, inhumanly possible, it was something that was patently effective. He did not see a reason for either himself or Sophia to be especially above it, regardless of the stereotyping afoot.
Sophia had asked for something rather specific. Unlike her partner in crime and Kamui's other student, Yuki had solely wished to grow stronger. Where that path would lead her was open and very, very up for interpretation. It offered a lot of creative freedom and it was freedom that Kamui was more than willing to take advantage of, but it was directionless by itself, aimless wandering. Sophia by the inverse knew EXACTLY what she wanted and while that did take some of the inventive fun away from the process, it did make Kamui's job considerably easier. She had completed the edges of the puzzle for him and he simply had to fill up the pieces in the middle.
Kamui pushed through the foliage, popping out in to the little clearing they had been using as a camp and letting his eyes search for Sophia as the sun finally reached a height that the conventional human would actually consider morning. She wanted to learn Shunko, which was going to be a challenge for Kamui in and of itself. Sugiuran magic was heavily structured by necessity, simply enforcing your will upon reality without any kind of focus was a bottomless well that had many, many inherent risks. If the feat you attempted to accomplish required too much energy, you'd fall in to that well and drain yourself of your very life before the phenomenon had finished being fulfilled. It was why the concept of Shunko, the raw magical amplification of all physical faculties, sounded implausible to Kamui. At the same time however, Sophia was hardly the first time he had heard of the ability and while the actual method of acquiring the technique was obscured to him, he knew very well that it had taken the creator hundreds of years to develop the craft and the ones who followed after her were not much more expedient than Yoruichi was. It was a frustrating puzzle, but that was also what made it worth while. He also had what he hoped would be the first step in crafting what she had asked him for...and if it didn't exactly pan out, well, the ability Kamui was intending to teach her was at the very least useful in its own right. And with that, there was not much point
"Sophia, are you ready to go?"
