“..Today has been a wreck. . “
Blackheart had been kneading the bridge of his nose with his index and thumb while sitting in a chair in the command post of the vanguard. Many chairs still remained vacant as the unknown currently was still . . . Up to his ears in paperwork, it was frustrating knowing that right now, even with what he could do there was still some very, very startling matters that needed to be attended to. One such matter was figuring out what to do with the ruined vanguard base that had been slowly deteriorating on the moon. There was so much information that could be gleaned from it, and even more than that, there was something that still needed to be figured out on the moon. How azure died, and how his death led to the moon blowing up as it had. These things and more weighed on his mind as he thought about just what needed to be done even before a new leader would even be correct in timing to take up the mantle. Old issues needed to be settled, people needed to be questioned, about what happened, about where they had been when the explosion happened. Yet blackheart instead of working himself up, would take a metaphorical backstep, and try to calm his frayed nerves.
“..Every day is a wreck, i hope people arrive soon.”
His left hand drummed on the table lightly as he was reading through a particular paper that he had wanted for this meeting. Damage reports of places that moon debris had fell, and further more finally he had gotten a report of the total damages incurred by the shadow fall attack on the moon, and quite honestly? The graph he was looking at was actually quite . . .Concerning, many areas had been either annihilated or destroyed, and the main base was practically just a shell. That was only on the surface of the moon, the inside was infinitely worse, crumbling passageways , half collapsed rooms, probably billions upon billions of yen worth the equipment unusable, stuck there, or simply hidden under everything that had fallen down around it. It was a nightmare that would be enough to drive any one person insane if they were trying to figure out simply what to do with it all. For this reason blackheart had sent out a collective com a few hours earlier to all the vanguard members, from the wardens down the ranks to the very lowest rung of the latter. This after all was a conversation that included everyone, as it would impact everyone depending on what was done with it.
Now. .WHY would he do this? It was simple, elections had been coming up in the vanguard and because of this, eventually someone would be elected, and before that happened it was important to get as much of this problematic nonsense out of the way as humanly possible. Assuming the mantle of leader was a huge responsibility, which would only be made even harder by all the other stuff that would need to be taken care of before any future progress could actually be made. With this in mind Blackheart leaned back in his chair and let out an exasperated sigh, it had merely been work, and more work since azure died. Not even physical exercise, it had only been mind numbing papers and statistics and watching the impending collision of meteors all over the world, a thought that had made him cringe even further. It was beyond unfortunate it was actually sickening to the unknown of the vanguard that all this could transpire, even with them taking active steps to prevent it.
So that in mind, and many other things running through his head he would have pulled up the remote to flick the holographic projector in the back of the room on, a 3D diagram of the moon blowing up with many arrows pointing to both the damage done, sectors that have relative low damage, and evacuated personnel and what was going on with them. The dismal picture, would be blown up while other images of falling meteors in varying states of descent through the atmosphere and then the effects mana wrought with the mad world had been blown up as well. Open riots in the street’s people beating each other and other depraved acts that had popped up almost overnight across the globe between nations. It was absolute insanity out there and active steps needed to be taken, this was a mess that started with the vanguard and so it was atleast in blackheart’s opinion. Partially the vanguards own mission to begin fixing it , to make the earth once again . . Safe for everyone to inhabit.
