I. Personality Traits
Calm: Overall, Kokuto isn't someone who lets his emotions get the better of him. While he did have a number of manic episodes upon his release from Hell, he has noticeably calmed down and has been able to, well, calm down, after those events. Therefore, it's rather hard for someone to get Kokuto to lose his temper, as it isn't easy for someone to get under his skin. Furthermore, it should be noted that he is incredibly level-headed, rarely losing his cool, even in the direst of situations, something that has allowed him to keep his composure in order to make quick decisions that could mean life or death. So, he often uses this in order to perform brief moments of analysis to give himself a guess of what is to come. Thus, while he has become much laxer since his earlier days, he is very capable of using this to his advantage.
Seeking: Likely one of the most important traits to Kokuto's persona. Ever since his release from Hell, Kokuto has searched for a purpose in this world, something that he still looks for to this day. There is always a sense of emptiness and feeling of untapped potential lying deep in his heart. With this in mind, Kokuto has constantly traveled the plains of every dimension he can, simply wandering in order to find something to give him drive, no matter what that drive might find itself being. At first, he believed this was something that he could sate by joining Shadow Fall and being amongst his own kind, regardless of it being an antagonist organization.
However, this only served to partially fill the emptiness within him. Thus, he found himself spectating various events throughout his current life, with one of these sessions being different from the rest in the form of being in the presence of the Demon Queen herself, Mana Asthavon, during the Tournament of Power in Greece. After having his physical limits broken, the devilish Queen was able to see this feeling of emptiness and bestowed him the Seal of Eris -- connecting him to a family and continuing to fill that hole within him.
But, even then, it wasn't enough. These were all minor things to him, something that not only started to fill his emptiness but fueled his drive to find something that he could support wholeheartedly and find a deeper sense of purpose in. Therefore, even to this very day, Kokuto wanders the world in order to find that. From the Living World and the many places that he has visited in order to try and find it, to the Outlands of the Demon World. But, through this journey, Kokuto has come to one conclusion -- every step he takes has brought him closer and closer to his goal.
Indifferent & Blunt: To sum up Kokuto's thoughts on most things, he doesn't really feel strongly or negatively towards a lot of things. He is someone that looks at things from a very neutral standpoint and will rarely make any form of biased statements. Rather, he would generally attempt to come to some form of compromise between people. However, while he is indifferent, he has no problems with voicing his opinions. As a result of this, Kokuto is rather direct and blunt when it comes to his thoughts and opinions on matters, and -- tying into his indifferent nature -- there isn't much that makes him feel guilty or feel bad as a result.
However, he has shown to be rather remorseful when it comes to negative reactions being displayed because of this trait. As, deep down, he still does have a semblance of humanity in him. While he doesn't show it in the best form, he does feel genuine guilt, should someone shed tears in front of him. He can't stand seeing someone cry, due to him feeling guilty in return as a result. Therefore, while he hasn't abandoned this trait, he does feel the repercussions of it, and will often exhibit feelings of remorse, whether it be deep in his heart, or voicing it.
I. Character History
Human Life:
At a time before Kokutō was sentenced to Hell, he was once a Human and had a younger sister who was killed by an unknown number of assailants. This prompted Kokutō to avenge her death by murdering her killers. However, this did not grant him solace. By his own admission, he then set out to inflict his suffering on others. This action, however, condemned Kokutō into spending eternity in Hell as a punishment.
Life In Hell:
Once bound to Hell, Kokuto, from day 1, wanted out. He barely lasted a day without losing a small piece of his sanity. The screams of the damned constantly nagged at him, making Kokuto want to get out of his prison. So, he began to yank at his chains. Pulling and struggling against his bonds, hoping that they would come loose. They never did. What did he expect? He was put in Hell for a reason. He wouldn't get out so easily. But the resilience of Kokuto was only increasing ever more.
He continued fighting. He never stopped. For hundreds of years, he fought against his own fate, trying to change what had been sowed. However, one day, he started planning something different. If Hollow came to Hell, maybe they could break him free? It seemed like a sound plan. All he had to do, was wait. He waited. And waited. But no Hollow ever came. But Kokuto never gave up. He kept waiting. Nothing would crush his determination. He waited longer and longer. Nothing ever came. He soon gave up on his plan. Back to using brute force. So he resumed fighting his chains on his own, breaking where the chains bound him slowly. Day by day, the connections got weaker. Until one day......
The snapped.
The chains broke, and Kokuto was free. Adrenaline pumped through his body as he started to make his way towards the exit of Hell. Unknowingly gaining access to the chains that bound him to Hell, as well as a curved sword, Kokuto fought his way through Hell, running towards the exit as fast as he could. Cutting down anyone who stood in his way, he raced towards the exit. However, what he didn't know, is that there were guardians of Hell. The Rakasha Demons. As he reached the exit, he was stopped by Zyanya Ka'ghil. Simply by staring at her, he knew one thing. She...was going to rebind him. Extremely painfully. After the absolute crap was beaten out of him, Kokuto was rebound to Hell, but this time, chained to the 4th layer.
Even more furious, Kokuto screamed and cursed for hours on end, struggling against his chains more than ever. This time, he would get out of Hell. None would stop him this time. As he started struggling to free himself once more, but to no avail. With him now bound to Hell even tighter than before, all Kokuto could do....was wait.
Reincarnation:
Now chained down in the 4th layer of Hell, Kokuto had even more burning vengeance and hatred than ever. Fighting against his bonds all day, every day, Kokuto seethed in Hell, desperately wanting to get out of there. More and more days passed by, which soon turned into months, and then years. 200 years passed and Kokuto was starting to lose it. Remembering what had caused him to be bound there, he continued to fight his chains. Anxious to escape, Kokuto's vengeance was one of the two things that kept him sane. However, he would not be in this prison for long.
Another 200 years later, in the year 2416, while Kokuto was resting from fighting his chains constantly, a demon came across him. However....Kokuto was so uninformed on what had been happening around him, that he had never heard of the demons, or anything that had evolved. He figured that Demons were merely a human myth that people only told to children to scare them. However....this one was the real thing. There was no doubt about it. Seeing the simple rage in Kokuto's eyes, the demon took a form of pity on Kokuto. Instead of leaving him to his imprisonment, he gave him an offer. Become a demon. Kokuto was skeptical at first. How? The demon explained quickly, and very briefly on how he would convert him.
Conversion.
By using a demonic ritual, this demon would utilize his link with Za Koa to convert him into a demon. However....it would need him to do one thing. He would need him to open his soul to allow the soon-to-be new Za Koa energy flow through him. Agreeing quickly, but carefully, Kokuto allowed his soul to open up, and he waited. As a telepathic prayer was sent into his head, Kokuto continued to wait. But soon after this prayer was said, a rush of energy burst into his body, and his entire body changed. A burst of purple energy shot from Kokuto, shattering his chains and laughter echoed from the energy that shot from Kokuto's body.
As the energy faded, Kokuto's True Appearance stepped out, unchained and unbound. A sick, twisted grin sprouted from the previously bound Sinner, and just like that, he was free. No longer being a Sinner, Kokuto was free from Hell. The absolute moment he was freed, the two wings on his True Appearance spread, and using his new Demon powers, he left Hell. Now, he is out for vengeance. With Kokuto free, and now a demon, he will not stop until everyone has tasted the same bitterness he did.
I. Natural Abilities & Skills
High Spiritual Pressure: Kokuto possesses extreme levels of spiritual energy, able to casually evade and defend against opponents mildly stronger than him. However, with his new Demon reincarnation, his spiritual pressure has increased a ton. Simply becoming a demon had increased his power. However, it wasn't enough. Within his normal form, his spiritual pressure is decently high, but within his two demon states, he is releasing two seals on his power. These two seals have two different releases of power. His first release is a 25% power increase, bringing him to half power, and the second release being a 50% power increase, bringing him to full power. This is because he put seals on himself to not only have him learn how to fully control his new powers, but also so that he could prolong and have more fun with his fights.
"Master" Swordsman: Kokutō has shown during each of his fights to be extremely proficient in combat with this sword, as he was able to slice many enemies clean in half with a single swing, as well as able to However, after his reincarnation, his skill has seemed to have increased ever more. With Kokuto effortlessly able to swing his sword around with supreme skill, his skill as a swordsman is extremely high.
Enhanced Speed: Kokutō is capable of moving at high speeds, and is able to quickly get behind someone and attack them. Sometimes, his speed can even go unnoticed if one would not be paying enough attention. However, his speed in not his most powerful trait. While his speed is very high, is fails in comparison to his own personal abilities, as well as his demon abilities. If anything, his strength and endurance would most likely be his most powerful non-demonic traits.
Enhanced Strength: Kokutō is shown to exhibit extreme strength, as seen when was able to take on attacks on par with multiple Ceros. His strength is immensely high for some basic demons, but it also leads him to be very arrogant. With his strength being on par with his endurance and main abilities, he can sometimes believe that he is unstoppable, and can become quite careless in combat.
Enhanced Endurance: Kokutō has a high level of endurance, more so than the other Demons. With him able to take multiple Demon Spells casted by those slightly stronger than him. However, his endurance has most certainly increased with his reincarnation. With the new power of his demon physiology coursing through him, his endurance is extremely high for a basic demon. However, he is by no means invincible. With enough highly powerful strikes, or just enough strikes in general, Kokuto's endurance will start to falter.
Keen Intellect: Kokutō is a very crafty individual. Highly manipulative, Kokutō was able to deceive many that passed by him to attempt to break his chains, and set him free. However, the one thing that he was sure that would permanently break him free was a Hollow's power. However, his keen intellect does not stop there. Although he is partially insane, he does not always abandon strategy and just keep attacking. He does think before he strikes sometimes, often thinking about what the consequences would be if he used one of his abilities.
I. Demon Powers
Affinity For Hell: Demons are said to get considerably stronger in Hell. Just by stepping foot within the place is said to grant them immense power. This is very true, even for someone like Kokuto, who was imprisoned in Hell. However, this does not mean he ENJOYS it. Kokuto has an utter hatred for Hell, mainly due to his imprisonment. This causes him to constantly avert from any kind of pathway to Hell. Whether it be through a Demon Ability or some sort of special skill, Kokuto will go to any lengths to stay away from Hell. However, there is an exception to this. While he does despise Hell, he will go there if he is needed, or has no other option. This does NOT include the Demon World. Although Hell IS a PART of the Demon World, Kokuto will rarely, if ever, set foot in the depths of Hell willingly.
The Art Of Demon Magic: The Art of Demon Magic. Something that is much different than a Shinigami's Kido. With the stuff being meant to be what magic is "supposed to be", Kokuto's skill in it....is very poor. With Kokuto constantly relying on his OWN skills, his skill within the art of Demon Magic is very, very limited. Sure, he can throw up a few barriers and attacks every now and then, but it fails in comparison to his Energy Shield, and his other mainly offensive attacks. With his power in his own skills, as well as the other abilities of a Demon, Kokuto just simply refers to Demon Magic as a waste of time. He doesn't exact HATE Demon Magic, since he does use it from time to time, and can sometimes rather enjoy it. However, it is mostly considered a waste of time by him. He on;y uses it as a last resort.
Curse Effect: Kokuto's Curse is very unique. With his constant bitterness and hatred for the ones who decided his fate, Kokuto's Curse is essentially, the manifestation of that bitterness. Effectively naming it Tōgoku no nigami (投獄の苦味 Bitterness of Imprisonment), his Curse does just that. Whenever Kokuto utilizes his Curse Effect, one would begin to feel an immense amount of unexplained rage and bitterness for everything around them. However, with the "imprisonment" part of the name, his curse can do something else besides just making you mad from nowhere. If one were to imprisoned in any way, and Kokuto's Curse was active, the rage that one would feel from this would be even more powerful, causing almost desperation to be released from the prison. This is Kokuto's way of revenge. However, this can only be used if the PC gives permission to be affected by this.
Shadow Movement: A Demon's answer to Flash Step. Kokuto's skill within this Demon Ability is very....average. With him using his own speed as opposed to using Shadow Movement to move around the battlefield and places in general, Kokuto can sometimes be seen rarely USING Shadow Movement. However, when in a tight situation, Kokuto will use Shadow Movement. But, then again, with his speed mildly high, using Shadow Movement is, most of the time, a very rare case.
Akuma Kyodo: A layer of defensive skin that protects a demon from many attacks. This is something that is almost always active, and in a sense, innate for many demons. Kokuto is no different. With his mildly protective Akuma Kyodo active, he can be extremely durable from attacks, magic, spiritual attacks, and some toxins/poisons. However, this does have it's limits on how long it lasts before it breaks, but this is not the only weakness on Kokuto's Akuma Kyodo. His Akuma Kyodo is actually slightly weaker than an average Akuma Kyodo, with his Akuma Kyodo lasting a small time less than others. In any sense, Kokuto's skill in Za Koa is much stronger than his Akuma Kyodo.
I. Unique Powers
Energy Shield (Unnamed): Kokutō is able to immerse himself in a blue energy shield, which is strong enough to allow him to emerge unscathed from a single average powered Cero. However, with the reincarnation, his energy shield has taken a sickening red color mixing with his previous blue. Not only that, but his energy shield has gotten stronger. With him now able to tank about two to three average Ceros before his shield would shatter and have a two post cooldown.
Yuugokujin (幽獄刃, Spectral Prison Blade): By hurling his sword in any sort of downward direction, Kokuto can release a wave of Za Koa energy. This energy wave is purple in color, and seems to have the power of a Cero upon contact with an unprotected surface, such as a Shinigami's skin, a Sugiuran's skin, or something that does not have the protection of a Hierro, Akuma Kyodo, or Xinfeng. However, if one of these energy waves were to make contact with a Xinfeng, Hierro, or Akuma Kyodo, it would seem to have the power of a Bala. This is one of Kokuto's most basic attacks unique to him, and is very versatile in combat. His total amount of firing these per post is three, with him having a single post cooldown.
Enra Gomestu (閻羅拷滅, Torturous Ruin of Yama): One of Kokuto's more...strange attacks. Beginning this with thrusting his sword arm out, causing a small purple shockwave that stuns and knocks back someone a few inches. However, this stun lasts about half a post, and the shockwave is incredibly weak. The shockwave is only meant to be a small push. The stun is very weak as well, with someone at a high Focus level (Advanced and above), would be able to shake it off. With his sword facing horizontally, Kokuto begins slashing rapidly back and forth, left and right. each and every slash causing a black and purple wave of energy to flow from it. Each slash is mildly powerful (Around Adept Strength, Advanced in Demon States), due to being enhanced with Za Koa energy. After this, he begins to charge energy within his hands, and thrusting his arms out, and a large black and purple wave of energy would surge forward, damaging and knocking back anyone who would be in the way. The final attack is much more powerful than the rest, with the energy wave on the strength with about 3-4 Ceros. This can only be used once per post.
Rengoku Renge (焔獄蓮華, Blazing Prison Lotus Flower): This attack must be performed in the air. It does not matter how Kokuto gets in the air, but this attack can not be performed on the ground. Once in the air, Kokuto turns his sword and slamming on the ground. During this, the blade of his sword is charging a large amount of Za Koa energy within it. Once he lands, the blade causes a small pool of lava to appear beneath him, and also causes multiple orbs of fire to shoot from this pool in the center. These orbs land about 10-20 meters from the center, forming a circle with many gaps in them. However, more fire branches off of from the fires as soon as they land, causing a small ring of fire to form. As they do, a large wave of fire shoots upward, forming a fiery prison in the area of this circle of fire. However, this prison is not perfect. If someone is able to move fast enough (Adept Speed at minimum), they can escape the fire ring before the wall of fire that makes the prison form. However, if someone were to use some sort of skill equal to a Cero, or attack the wall (With Adept Strength or higher), they can break the wall of fire long enough for the PC to escape before the fire reforms. This prison of fire lasts for 2-3 posts, and can only be used once per post, with a 4 post cooldown.
Setsuzoku (接続, Connection): By releasing the chains outwards and implanting himself to that solitary area, Kokuto can quickly bind himself to the dimension he is in, preventing any forced travel. However, if someone of an EXTREMELY high power, say a 1 or 0 tier were forcing him to move, or maybe a 2 tier with a high Focus skill. If so, he would not be able to hold himself to that dimension. This is, however, incredibly flawed. With him able to bind himself to the current dimension, he is essentially, unable to use any abilities while bound. When doing this, it's almost like he's sealing his powers to keep himself firmly planted in/on the dimension he is in. However, this also, in a way, modifies his Kage Chōkyō-shi. Since his chains are now made of Za Koa energy, his can perform Kage Chōkyō-shi. By sending his chains into the air, he can allow the chains to channel the Zo Koa energy through them, forming a dimensional hole.
I. Equipment
Curved Sword: A sword that Kokuto used to have while in Hell. With a zigzag design of the blade, and a broken tsuba, this sword was one of his prime weapons. However, when he was re-incarnated as a demon, his sword did not come with him. Instead of attempting to forge a new one all by himself or something lame like that, he did something....different. With his sword now lost, he decided to create a new one. Out of Za Koa energy. This new sword he has is in the same design as his old one, but with some changes to the sword itself. Not in design, but in abilities. One thing is that this sword is made from Za Koa energy. This means that this sword can only be summoned with two conditions. One of them is that Kokuto MUST summon it with a Demon Ritual. The other is that if he is low on energy, or near death, this sword cannot be summoned. However, if the sword is already summoned, it will be considerably weaker. The durability of the sword is equal to Kokuto's durability. However, if it breaks, it would have a single post cooldown, single recreating his sword is an easy task, however, it would make his sword incredibly weaker if he only uses one post to get it back. To fully get his sword back, he would need to wait 2 posts.
Chains: Kokutō can manifest the chains that once bound him to Hell, and uses the ones attached to his left wrist as a long-ranged weapon, like a whip. In addition, one of the chains connects his sword to his right hand, allowing him to use it for long-ranged attacks. However, since he was freed from Hell, he has now learned how to control his chains in a more....useful manner. However, these option(s) are only available when he uses his Demon Transformations. In addition, the chains that were previously on his chest have seemingly vanished for some reason. Some say that the binds on his soul, where the two chains were on his chest, were what kept him from escaping Hell. Another thing about his chains is that they are no longer actual chains. With his freedom, the chains vanished from him. However, with Kokuto being used to using them and having them, he wanted them back. So he used Za Koa energy to bring them back. Without these chains previously binding him to Hell, Kokuto now is free. With his new chains, he will rain down vengeance on everyone. Everyone will taste the same bitterness his did. These chains very durable, and can take about 3-4 posts of attack before breaking and having a 2 post cooldown on reforming themselves.
I. Possessive Drive
☨ Adjustable State Benefits:
Burning Chains: Kokuto's chains receive a major boost in this form. With most of the chains disappearing from his body, his chains essentially become one with his body. However, with only most of the chains leaving his body, they still need somewhere to branch from. It is the reason why his wrists still have the chains on them, as well as his legs. However, something else that his chains gain within this form is that his chains now glow with a blood red. While he is in this state, Kokuto now can burn enemies with his new versions of chains. However, these chains are not actually on fire, but, are so incredibly hot, that they have simply glowed too hot to have a visible fire on them. When these burning chains make contact with unprotected skin, it will severely burn someone like a human, insanely easy. If a normal human without any protection on their skin were hit by these, they would suffer 1st degree burns. However, if someone with enhanced durability or some sort of protection were hit by these, such as Shinigami, Chi Human's Xinfeng, or an Arrancar's Hierro, it would be simple burn marks that would not cause any overtime pain, but just make one feel a slight moment of pain.
Blade of Hell: Not only do his chains gain a boost from accessing this form, but so does his new sword. With his blade now having a blood red glow around the previously black blade, the Curved Sword of Kokuto now takes on a sinister form. A new aura of heat flowing from the blade of the weapon as the blade becomes near too hot to touch. The blade can now burn someone with a simple slash. However, these burns are VERY minor, and will merely feel like a sting. The sword itself gains merely a extremely hot blade, and a small bonus with the ability to mildly burn someone.
Enhanced Akuma Kyodo: Kokuto's first Demon State is enhanced within this form. However, this has an extent, as well as certain drawbacks. With this enhanced demonic skin, Kokuto is able to withstand a larger amount of damage overtime, as well as attacks in general. However, this only affects the left side of his body, and the right side of his body is completely exposed, reducing the protection of the Akuma Kyodo on his right side to give his left side the large amount of protection it gains in this form.
Enhanced Shadow Movement: Kokuto becomes much faster in this state, as his Shadow Movement skill increases slightly. Not able to perform multiple short bursts of quick movement in rapid succession, and can move around the battlefield very quickly. However, he can get tired and lose energy very quickly, if he uses it carelessly.
Banyu Goka (蛮幽業禍, Karmic Ill of Savage Ghosts): One of Kokuto's most powerful skills. By concentrating a large amount of Za Koa energy, he can release a massive column of energy. This column is purple in color, and deals massive damage. The reason that this is in his 1st Demon State is because when he was released from Hell, this skill becomes so powerful that he became physically unable to perform it within his normal form. To perform this Kokuto seems to bring his left arm close to him, then thrusting his chest skyward, and curving his arms at his sides, releasing an enormous torrent of energy which initiates the attack. This can only be used once per post and has a 3 post cooldown. This skill is on par with about a single, average Gran Rey Ceros.
