Urufu Azathoth
~This life is filled with hurt
When happiness doesn't work
Trust me and take my hand
When the lights go out you will understand~

It’s in the blood. It’s always in the blood. No matter what he needed to find, who he had to contact, or what he had to achieve, he could find his answers in the blood. It only took a moment or so for the liquid to drench his tongue, than slide down his throat like crimson mercury. He was always upon the precipice of insanity, but the intense gravity of a broken mind usually took its hold on him during his feeding period. But of course, there were no other answers for the broken being that was Urufu. He had to consume the blood of the living (or undead, such as Shinigami and Hollow) to survive. It was his only option. Anything else caused the poor teenager to spew his guts forth violently in a collage of colors.

Currently, he was gums-deep in the shoulder of a sleeping man. He hadn’t heard him creep through the window after scaling the wall, an easy task for one with the strength and claws of the adolescent Azathoth. It was a simple pinch of the neck, and an artery was cut short from the rest of the body. He was soon unconscious. Drinking deeply, the man would soon be dead. Urufu had to eat… but he didn’t have to kill. Removing his jaw from the man’s flesh, he slit his palm with a delicate stroke of his claws. Using an ability known as Reverse Retribution, it was a simple matter to invoke the natural healing methods in the man’s body mixed with his own, and increase the speed at which it happened. Basically, he gave him an intense healing speed temporarily, for that specific wound.

Turning from him, he wiped his blood-stained hands and mouth off on a simple cloth draped over the window. Stepping out of the room using the actual door, he encountered the wife of the man. Luckily, she had her back turned. A small ripple went through Urufu, and he suddenly had the same appearance as the man. ”Hello Clarisse.” He said warmly, his voice a tad bit deeper then it normally was. Clarisse was his wife now, apparently. Delving into the memories of the man, he saw that he was an inner romantic, and with no one else around, he enjoyed to show it. Wrapping his arms around her waist, he pulled her close to him. ”When’s breakfast?” The memories indicated that she cooked breakfast in this house.

After a simple reply and quick kiss, Urufu broke away from his new wife. ”I’m going to go for a quick jog.” Luckily, that was a normal morning routine for James. Walking out the door slowly (so she wouldn’t turn and look at him, he was still wearing his cloak with a black katana strapped to his back), he shimmered back into his normal form. Walking down the road whistling casually as Urufu Azathoth once more, he spiked his spiritual energy. All of the blood he just drank spiked his adrenaline. He had to burn it somehow. Perhaps a hollow or something would help him. Clenching his bloody claws into a tight fist, he heard confused shouts behind him while strolling down the street barefoot, sharp stones unnoticed under his tough feet. Clarisse had noticed James was still in bed, and probably the blood. Not caring, Urufu spiked his energy once more, and continued on his walk.

Mayonaka was on a patrol in the human world, nothing much for him. He found himself being slightly bored as there were no hollows in the area. He was on his feet in a second when he sensed the spike of spiritual energy in the area. Something that could spike their energy like that was definitely worth investigating. So off he went, on his way to meet whomever the source of the spike was. As the energy spiked once more, Mayonaka decided some shunpo might help him find who he was looking for quicker.

He was on a rooftop over looking the street where a man with a katana and a cloak was strolling down the street. Definitely not normal apparel for a pedestrian. Mayonaka jumped down onto the street and called out to him, knowing that he would hear him, as he certainly had spiritual energy. The sun was getting higher in the sky, it would be getting lighter and lighter out, something that did not please him, and that would not help him should a fight break out. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that though.

There were some other pedestrians on this street, something that concerned Mayonaka slightly. The man before him had spiritual pressure similar to his own, and was armed with a katana. At first look, they seemed evenly matched. But nobody could know what tricks either may have up their sleeves. Hopefully his tricks would be greater than those of the other man.

"You spiked your spiritual energy just a short moment ago. Who are you, and what business do you have here?" Mayonaka asked, his hand not on the hilt of his Zanpacto but not unprepared for a fight. The clouds in the sky would help him a bit, making it a bit darker out. These were unreliable though, as the sun could peak through the clouds at any moment and foil any plans relying on shadow.

Immediately after spiking his heavy, white reiatsu, Urufu felt it. Someone had clearly noticed his reiatsu, for a foreign reiatsu was drawing closer. ...Shinigami. Yes, the newcomer was definitely a shinigami. Urufu wasn't the world's greatest hunter for nothing. He could tell the difference between each unique race from the reiatsu they gave off simply. Turning to face him, he traced his movements down the buildings until he landed near him. Was it he who had spiked his energy? Why yes it was. Nodding at the man to indicate he was aware of his presence, he wiped blood off of his mouth with the back of his hand once more. He should probably respond before he thought he was being rude or something.

"What business do I have here? This is earth, dude. I live here." He told the man sarcastically, flipping the blond hair out of his dark purple eyes. "In fact.. What business do YOU have here, Death God?" He retorted, a cold, cynical eye on the man. Urufu... do not antagonize the man. Shiro's voice came from the katana strapped on his back, albeit telepathically. Rolling his eyes inwardly, he heard a laugh. Of course Shiro was amused. He was always amused. "But because you asked, I'll tell you my name. I am Urufu Azathoth. And just may you be?" His eyes flickered downward towards the hand near the sheath of the sword.

Reaching his hand back, Urufu clenched his fist around the handle of Kaze O Han'ei Shite. Drawing the blade, it transformed as it left the sheath, bit by bit, until he was wielding a sword the size of a car effortlessly. "And this is Kaze O Han'ei Shite." He responded, holding the blade on his shoulders while his other hand was near his face. He was picking his teeth free of human flesh with a long, blood-stained claw. His eyes were still focused on the shingami, proving himself ready for anything. Your knees. Shiro's advice always came perfectly. Urufu had forgotten to bend his knees. Doing so, he dropped about a half an inch, barely noticeable.

"I really don't like someone asking me my own business in my own town. It's really annoying." Urufu was lucky people weren't busy this early in the morning. Someone would notice him talking to himself, covered in blood, with a massive sword being wielded like it was a feather. That was sure to raise some questions. "So unless you have a point to this, you should move on." He told the man, his voice cold and ruthless.

"It is my sworn duty as a Shinigami to protect the people of this planet. You seem to be a threat to the people whom I must protect." Mayonaka's hand went to his Zanpacto, drawing the blade and pointing it at Urufu. As Vice-Captain of the fifth squad of the Gotei 13, I demand you cease your feeding upon humans, or else be forced to cease by myself. Hide in shadow, erase all light, bring forth darkness upon thy foes, Bakudo 33: Kurokumo." It became darker around them as the words left Mayonaka's mouth and the light became very faint. The circumstances had shifted now, much more preferable for him.

Urufu's sword was big, and he wielded it with ease. Mayonaka would have to be cautious of it. They seemed to be of approximately equal spiritual pressure, so a blow from that sword would hurt. A human at the level of a Vice-Captain... he didn't like it. No matter, with the shadows present, The fight would be much easier for him.

There was always the chance that Urufu would choose not to fight, so Mayonaka kept his Zanpacto sealed for the time being. Kuregi would be helping him at a moments notice if Urufu didn't stand down though. And as soon as Kuregi was unsealed, Urufu would have a hell of a fight on his hands.

What an interesting introduction. It was simply too bad that Urufu gave not a single fuck who he was. "Blah blah blah... So what? You be that vice captain. I'll be Urufu Azathoth, leader of the Coven, wielder of Kaze O Han'ei Shite, and god of Wolves." See, anyone could have a snazzy introduction. Suddenly, the sky darkened. Good. This would be interesting then. Raising his sword up and lowering it so the tip of the blade was pointing straight at Mayonaka, his arm outstretched completely. A slow smirk began to spread across Urufu's face like an acid, corrupting all that was good into an eroded version of it's former glory. His purple eyes shone brightly, despite the darkness. He was ready for anything.

"So... when are you going to stop me?" Urufu asked, growing slightly impatient. All that talk and nothing. Was he honestly going to have to be the one to draw first blood? Seriously? That seemed rather indignified of the man. Sighing, Urufu rolled his eyes. Snapping his elbow shut, it slammed like a hinge and brought the flat of Kaze O Han'ei Shite's blade into Urufu's chest. "So be it." And then he disappeared.

Urufu had used shunpo in order to position himself directly above Mayonaka. Quite high, he was nearly 20 feet in the air. Raising his weightless blade above his head, he slashed downwards with both hands on the handle, wind and reiatsu gathering with the slash to produce a wind scar, which hurtled down towards Mayonaka with a bloodlust of it's own.

And so the first move had been made. Mayonaka saw through the quick movement of his opponent, and used shunpo to move out out of the way. Turning swiftly around, and now about 30 feet away from his original position, Mayonaka very rapidly recited an Incantation: "Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, the sea barrier surges, march on to the south! Hado 31: Shakkaho!" His right hand holding the Zanpacto, he had his left hand pointed at Urufu. A ball of red light appeared at his palm, followed by a fiery blast which soared at Urufu.

"Do not underestimate the power of a Vice-Captain." Mayonaka said, before muttering an incantation under his breath and dashing forward with shunpo towards Urufu, minding the massive blade before him. His destination was behind Urufu. On his way to Urufu's back, Mayonaka slashed at Urufu's front, then followed up with a strike at his back, both strikes within milliseconds of each other. His shunpo over, he pointed the index finger of his left hand at Urufu, lightning shooting out as he said the name of the Kido for which he had just recited the incantation under his breath: "Hado 4: Byakurai."

As the kido fired for Urufu, he smirked. Time to prove his worth. Spinning rapidly, his blade struck the kido. A white reiatsu was backing up the steel however, and the kido was immediately deflected. The red ball shot off into the distance. Sealing his blade to allow for faster movements, Urufu allowed some damage to be taken. Bleeding heavily from his stomach, the blade slit through his flesh quite easily. Dammit. He would need some blood after that. It mattered not. He would get it. Ignoring his wound with barely a wince, Urufu waited for it to happen. The blade slashed at his back as well, causing him to cough blood up violently. Finally, however, the fruits of his labour would pay off. As red streamed down his body, Urufu counted to four. On his fourth count, he launched his wrist up and grabbed Mayonaka's wrist. Pointing his finger up, the lightning shot gently into the sky. Spinning rapidly, the sealed version of Kaze O Han'ei Shite whistled towards Mayonaka's chest. It wouldn't do as much damage as the released version would, but it was a start.

"Is... is this ...all you got? ...Shinigami Scum..." Urufu wheezed, black blood dribbling down his mouth as he coughed more crimson nectar onto his front, still determined to obtain the precious blood that this man held.

With his left hand momentarily bound by the grasp of his opponent, Mayonaka still had his right hand with his Zanpacto free. Bringing up the blade quickly, he blocked the attack from Urufu. His left hand was still being held by Urufu. Whispering quickly, he ran powerful electricity through his hand and into Urufu. "Hado 11: Tsuzuri Raiden." Mayonaka ripped his hand from Urufu's grasp as he used shunpo to get away from him. "Shōkyo subete no hikari, Kūgeki." His sword became black as his Shikai was revealed. Finding himself in the shadows as he was, Mayonaka was comforted to be submerged in his element. Disappearing into nothingness, he felt bad for Urufu.

"Time to get serious."
Mayonaka's voice said, seeming to come from everywhere in the shadows. Eight panels appeared on all sides of Urufu, as well as one on top and one beneath him. Jumping from the shadows behind Urufu and through one of his Demonic Mirrors, Mayonaka looked at the trapped Urufu. "Welcome to my element, Urufu Azathoth, Leader of the Coven, wielder of Kaze O Han'ei Shite, and God of Wolves." he said, before melting back into the dark.

It's In The Blood (Mayonaka) Urfwere14

A sharp pain coursed through Urufu's body, causing him to see Black momentarily. Slamming the blade of his sword into the ground, he used it to support himself, leaning against it and panting like a beast. "You know... what's funny... about your... world?" Every heartbeat echoed inside of Urufu's head. His vision blurred; images pulsed in his head. His eyelids grew incredibly heavy, the grip on his sword grew incredibly weak. "I... can still... breath." There was a minor pause, and then "I.... can still... FIGHT!" Urufu's eyes shot wide open, the violet dwindling as gold took over. The flesh beneath Urufu's cloak bubbled, slicked over and solidified again as he grew taller, his bones shifting and stretching to the point that it cut his skin open momentarily, before it healed over swiftly. Throwing his cloak off quickly, he was careful not to cut it any more then it had already been sliced open.

"Vice Captain. You have underestimated me. Simple shadows will not stop Me." Urufu growled, raising his furry arm up. The muscle mass that had been along it nearly tripled, providing him with a very decent build. Swiveling to the direction he last heard Mayonaka, he inhaled deeply. Unfortunately, his scent had disappeared. That was no matter. Flicking his tail behind him, his wolfen ears twitched atop his head. Use me. Use me now. Shiro's voice boomed inside of Urufu's skull. Grinning, he reached his arm out towards the hilt of his sword. No wounds hindered his movements. Transforming into a different dna pattern entirely, for that was what he had done, had erased all wounds. After all, he was no longer Urufu. He had used what was known in his inner circle as the Primordial Blood.

Curling his fingers around the hilt of his sword, he pulled the metal out of the ground, which instantly transformed into it's full state. Like a fine mist, white dots began appearing over Urufu's already white fur, which swirled and condensed before forming fully as his reiatsu, which appeared around Urufu in the guise of a werewolfen spectral. Aiming his blade towards the shadow panel he had last seen Mayonaka at, the glow around Urufu intensified. "You know... Most people label me as a 'Vampire' when they find out about the first few stages of my abilities." White reiatsu and winds began to focus around the blade of Kaze O Han'ei Shite. That would be false." Raising the blade so it was perpindicular to the ground, he swung it down hard, his feet scraping along the ground slowly as he was pushed back by the force of the technique. Following the slash down and swinging the blade out behind him, he twirled with it until he was facing the same direction once more, the glowing wind scar having struck one of the panels and shattering it, the shadows disappearing in it's wake.

"In fact...The true natures of my ability leads to this." Looking at the panel that had formed on the ground before him, Urufu sheathed his blade, the scabbard still miraculously strapped to his back. The sword sealed itself upon contact with the rim opening, of course. Taking two steps towards it, Urufu lifted his fist into the air. Reiatsu condensed around it, the white reiatsu that he produced burning intensely over the steel wool-like fur that covered him completely. Slamming his fist down, but stopping just short of the panel, a burst of his reiatsu continued moving forward, smashing into the shadows and spreading outwards like a bubble bursting. The force was so powerful that Urufu's fur whipped wildly in the winds produced. Standing straight back up, his tail swished behind him once more. 2 down, 8 to go. Unsheathing his blade, he transformed it once more. Oddly enough, Primordial Blood was rarely used with a weapon, but no other weapon would have matched so perfectly at this moment as the fully released Kaze O Han'ei Shite.

Mayonaka was surprised to find that someone would go so far as to break his Demonic Shadow Mirrors. "These panels before you are special. They are more powerful than you would believe. To think that you would try and destroy them surprises me not, it is because you see very clearly that they are powerful things. But you must remember, each time you destroy a Mirror, I can easily attack from any other Mirror in a flash." Mayonaka, appearing behind Urufu Azathoth suddenly, attacked quickly before melting away. Another strike appeared from nowhere as he appeared again, having repositioned himself after his first attack. He was gone, then from on top of Urufu, another powerful strike from Kuregi. Gone. Behind Urufu. Gone. Below Urufu. Gone. "Urufu Azathoth, you have underestimated me. Do you truly believe that these are simple shadows?" his voice sounded again from everywhere within the dark.

He may be down two mirrors, but that was okay. If Urufu tried to destroy any other of his Shadow Mirrors, Mayonaka would be ready to instantly counter him; if Urufu did not try to destroy any other Mirrors, Mayonaka would use them to defeat Urufu. This was his element, and whether Urufu could breathe and fight or not, Mayonaka could still defeat him.
