Sho Fuya [APPROVED 2-5]
Tue Jan 12, 2016 11:22 am
• Name: Sho Fuya
• Titles: Orange's Jester, The Lone Survivor
• Gender: Male
• Appearance Age: 23
• Age: 237 years old
• Affiliation/Rank: Formerly of the Vanguard/ Gotei 13 Squad 7
• Appearance Description:
Standing at roughly six foot five and weighing in at two hundred pounds, Sho lives up to the image of what a foot soldier for the Vanguard would look like. His skin tanned from multiple excursions into the field and field operations and his body toned through the very same operations Sho gives off the air of a man who is quite physically powerful. This, however isn't totally true as Sho doesn't really specialize in close quarters combat, but in long range kido combat. Sho has silver hair, which once was black, but after the conflict in Bolivia has faded to a gray color due to stress, and unknown reasons according to physical reports conducted after his return from the field. Though having been in several severe combat events, Sho doesn't have any scars of permanent physical damage as his specialty never truly put him on the extreme front lines of combat. He has a pair of piercing yellow eyes which compliment his stern features rather well.
At one time or another, Sho ditched the garb of the regular shinigami in exchange for the more practical battle fatigues of the Vanguard. The battle fatigues includes: a pair of regulation combat boots, black being the most common color. A pair of olive pants made from a tough fabric with one knee guard on each knee, made of a particularly dense metal as to help avoiding taking serious damage in that particular ligament. An olive colored combat jacket made from the same tough fabric as the pants, the fabric used for the pants and jacket are not hardened enough to hamper movement as a soldier needs to move after all, but tough enough to aid in protection slightly. On this jacket is also orange cuffs and an orange collar, signifying which unit he is with in the regulars of the army.
Underneath the jacket is a regulation black tank, with no particular usefulness except to absorb perspiration. What isn't regulation on Sho's person is his scarf, which is a dull red. This scarf is the last thing his sister ever gave him before her death and is something he holds extremely sacred to himself. He usually isn't seen without this scarf or out of his military fatigues, but sometimes when he does choose to go casual he can usually be seen in his black tank and a pair of his fatigue pants. But at all times is his scarf present.

Battle Hardened
Sho Fuya has been through several operations, mostly operations that involved destroying foes that were roughly outside of his realm of power, and his understanding. Through these missions and operations, Sho has an outlook on life that is different than most common folk. He knows that violence is necessary to end the world's suffering, and though he wants peace just as much as the next Vanguard soldier he has seen some things that would make normal people insane. Yet, it has hardened him, emotionally. This makes it hard for him to relate to those he views at naive, regardless of how much he tries to, and at times that irritates him as he doesn't understand how anyone can think to solve problems through conventional means against the forces of Shadowfall.
Broken Man
The events in Bolivia were not kind to Sho. He lost so much on that day that just thinking back to it reminds him of how different he used to be. Sho, at one time or another, was the sort of man you would want to be friends with, and was the guy who pissed off his superiors with his cocky and arrogant displays of his natural talents and skills. Yet, after Bolivia...well Sho is a different man. He seems almost distant sometimes and at other times he seems to be his old self. He finds it hard to open himself up to others and be friends with anyone due to his belief that eventually anyone he comes into contact with, make friends with, or chooses to love will just end up dying. It happened in Bolivia and he doesn't want to happen again. So he distances himself from his comrades, but still does the work that he is needed to do. This includes the day to day operations of his post within the Vanguard.
Lone Wolf
As stated above, Sho at one time or another, was a guy that people liked to be around, but now that is completely different. Sho now chooses to do operations alone and takes on difficult missions by himself as if trying to seek some new level of power to exact revenge upon the people that took his loved ones and friends from him. When people try to help him, he tends to try to push them away, and at some times even lashes out at those people regardless of their intentions. This is just Sho's unconscious want to help people survive, as he believes himself to be bad luck, and even more so believes that he is too weak to protect the people he cares for. As such, his lone wolf nature makes him very hard to understand, and even get to know, as he keeps people away, and tends to do things his own way.
Resolute
When Sho makes a promise or is given an order, Sho follows that order, and does his damndest to come through with that promise. That is why Sho has gotten far in the vanguard and used to have so many friends before Bolivia. He is a guy who once he decides on something, he is going to do it, no matter the costs, and that is also why he is the way he is now. His decisions effected the lives of those that were placed under his command and in fact his unwavering nature also has put him on the course he is on, the path of loneliness. Yet, being resolute has also allowed him to make huge strides as a soldier and a warrior, granting him superb physical tools to backup his skills with kido. As such, being resolute, to him at the least, isn't such a bad thing.
Resentful
Sho holds many grudges and resents himself more than anyone else, but that wasn't always the case. He used to be the person to let things slide and not really care too much if he was wronged, but now that things have taken a turn for the worse his darker side has taken root. He hates those that wrong others and murders, even more so he has a particular hate for Zwei, which according to him is half the reason his team and sister died. He does use that resentment as a driving force to get him through the day, but it makes him hard to get along with when all he can do is remember the harshness and the wrongs that have been committed to him.
Hard Worker
A lot of negative things can be said about Sho, but one thing that can not be said is that he doesn't work hard. He has earned honors from not only the Shinigami Academy, but also from the Vanguard due to the nature of work he has done and the work ethic that he embodies for each and every mission he undertakes. He believes strongly that the root of all good things comes from the seeds of hard work and believes that the only way to change things for the better is to work for it. It is due to this belief that Sho has gotten far in his times acting as a soldier for the Vanguard and even before that as a member of the Kido Corps. of the Gotei 13. He bases his life around the principle.
Loyal
The few friends that Sho makes and the few friends that he has left are people that Sho would die for. He has lost a lot and has very few people left in the world that he loves, but in a heartbeat if they were put in a situation that would put them in harms way, he would be there to take the brunt of the assault for them. He fears loss after Bolivia and even more so is looking to make sure that he never has to feel that feeling ever again. He would also do anything for the people he cares for...even break direct orders to ensure that whatever they wanted would happen. But that is just the nature of a man who has lost so much, but is looking to protect the ones he still has left.
Lover of Women
If there is one thing that negates Sho's natural ability to push others away it is the nature of his love for the opposite sex. He particularly can't say no to women who present certain "attributes" that he finds irresistible. However, this does not effect him so much on the field's of battle as he always feels like it is a shame to kill those who are of his "type" who are his enemies, but he still has to do it due to the nature of his loyalty. Still, if he ever did find a girl who could put up with his shit, he would probably do anything she asked of him, and more. Because that is the type of guy he is.
• Likes: Friends, Loyalty, His Scarf, Protecting Others, and Curvy Women
• Dislikes: Killers, Zwei, Demons, Shadowfall, Monsuta, and Superior Officers.

The World of the Living: Sho's Legacy
Sho was born to a rich family of aristocrats who had a deep background in experimental engineering and theoretical energy research. Being born into such a family put a great deal of expectations upon the young child, who was born to the young patriarch of the Fuya family, and his blushing bride on a bright sunny day over two hundred thirty seven years ago, Sho himself doesn't remember which day it was, but does remember his exact the year he was born. At the time of his birth he was heralded as the next prodigy in a long line of Fuya family scientists who had helped progress mankind's position in the world of the supernatural. As such from an early age, he was tutored, and tested to the near brink of his young mind's capabilities until he was of an adequate enough age to enter one of the most prestigious schools in all of Japan. Once there he would study and study hard as his parents watched over him every waking second to make sure that he continued down the path to further the Fuya family goals for his life.
In truth, Sho never really liked what was forced upon his plate by his family, and though he hated what they were trying to make him into, he continued to do everything within his power to keep up appearances. His younger sister, born three years after his birth, would help him in these endeavors, helping him break out from the house to go have fun with the few friends he had made on a regular basis, and also covering up for his mistakes. Yet, regardless of his own disdain for what his parents were forcing down his throat, Sho found himself enjoying some of the work he was doing, namely in theoretical energy courses where he always excelled in terms of practical applications of new types of energies that at the time were just being discovered. As time went on and Sho graduated from the elite schools he was placed in, he began to show signs of a rebellious nature at times.
Standing up to the teachers, talking down to them as if they were not worthy to be called his teachers, and at the time he was viewed as arrogant, however this wasn't true in the least. Sho did it for attention, which his parents never really gave to him outside of giving him some advanced formulas, or pushing him to solve some advanced algorithms. So as time went on, Sho's struggles for attention got more, and more outrageous. Eventually it ended in expulsion from several top class High Schools that just don't take Sho's actions any longer, and his parents would verbally berate the young man who was just looking for a little bit of attention from his own parents. His sister, who was kind hearted, and saw her brother's struggles was there for him through out his ordeals. Always being the shoulder for which he could come and lean on in his moment of need. They grew close and in the end his sister became his one lone rock against the stormy sea of expectations that had been thrusted upon him that he had never wanted.
She would urge him to quit his rebellious actions and just be a good student, the good student that she knew he was, and with her pleading for him to do so, Sho gave in rather rapidly. So, after a few expulsions, and a couple of stern talking to's, Sho got his life together, and began to work on being the best person he could possibly be. Though every once in a while he would slip up and cause a minor inconvenience here and there. Eventually after graduating from High School, Sho would be offered a position with a company looking to develop new, and experimental anti-hollow defense systems, to which Sho eagerly signed on. The job didn't pay well and neither were the working conditions ideal, but Sho found himself burying himself in his work. His studies in experimental energy applications causing him to come up with new and innovative ways to counter the Hollow's assaults upon populated areas. Eventually, Sho became a lead researcher, and eventually began working with a professor named Appling, who was put in charge of a project called the "Legionnaire's Shield".
Professor Appling and Sho's research into Spatial Energy leads them to believe that they could possibly isolate Hollow's in a different space far away from populace centers by inducing a shield around a certain area that would create zones of spatial energy that would zip a Hollow or Arrancar to another plain of existence all together, thus protecting cities, towns, and even villages from Hollow attacks. As they worked hard designing a simple prototype for the system, Sho would learn that his sister had gotten into a car accident. Choosing to take a leave for personal reasons, Sho would arrive at the hospital only to learn that the lone person he had ever relied on, and who had been there for him had passed on. Infuriated by the loss and grief stricken for not having been there for the person who had been there for him, Sho would bury himself further into his work, to the point where he would not sleep for days, and instead disappear into the confines of his lab to not be seen for weeks.
It was during one such session that Sho designed the parameters for the shield and would bring it to Appling who would begin designing the machine for its' first test run. After a few months of design hick ups and designating a good test zone that would be perfect for using the new machine at, they finished their work, and headed to Africa where a huge populace of Hollows had taken up refuge as of late. The goal of the test was to simply neutralize a few Hollows using the prototype and then return with their findings and data so that they could begin designing a bigger, more efficient version of the small machine they had in their possession. What happened, however was completely different than what they had hoped would occur. After activating the machine and sending a few Hollows away to a designated coordinate, they labeled the machine a success, but as they went to turn off the machine, the machine would begin to malfunction, and would not shut off. As they tried to shut the machine off by any means necessary, the machine would begin to go rampant, choosing random things, and then warping them to different locations around the globe. Eventually the machine began to generate a spatial field around itself, much like the shield that had been theorized by the two professors who had looked to create a perfect defensive shield for humanity. As Appling fled, choosing to leave the area instead of stick around to see what was going to happen, Sho decided to stay, and try to shut the machine off.
Sho wasn't going to allow the machine to go critical and cause a spatial chasm which would cause massive damage to the surrounding area. But as he tried to shut it off and figure out how best to deal with the situation, the device would enter its' critical state, and begin to form the spatial chasm that Sho had been worried so much about. As he felt himself being ripped open and torn asunder by the chasm, he would only in his dying breaths be able to shut off the machine, and save the surrounding area. In the end he had sacrificed himself to spare whatever was living in that particular area and in his mind he wondered if he would see his sister again now that he was going to join her.
Life in the Rukongai and Shinigami Beginnings
Life as a plus for Sho was rather quick, in fact as soon as he had died, and had became a spirit he was greeted by a shinigami with a ridiculous afro and a pair of dark colored shades. He would have laughed, but he knew what the shinigami was there to do, and he wasn't someone who would judge someone based off their appearance. So, rather quickly he was sent to Soul Society, and upon being sent there would soon find himself among hundreds of thousands of souls wandering around looking for meaning in a place known only as the Rukongai. Sho made it a point of interest upon arriving in the Rukongai to begin his search for his sister and with that thought in mind he began to search. His search led him to may different corners of the Rukongai, some shady, and others rather welcoming.
For months Sho would hold out hope to see his sister again, but over time those hopes began to fade away, and eventually simply disappeared. The Rukongai was a massive place, housing thousands upon thousands of souls, and there was no way that Sho could cover all that distance by himself. So, begrudgingly Sho took up residence in a small inn near the gates to the inner most sanctum of the Soul Society where Shinigamis were housed. During his time there he would help with routine maintenance work and even help guide new comers around the Rukongai to find their own place in Soul Society to make their own. Many people came to respect Sho for his actions and eventually Sho gathered a close group of friends who would come by from time to time to help Sho look for his sister, who though he had no hope of finding, was still willing to accept help in searching. Over time, they searched less, and less and begin to focus on what their roles would be in this new world that they had been placed in. Sho, who at first joked about becoming a shinigami, eventually decided to follow that path, and watched as his friends eagerly followed behind him. Supporting him every step of the way.
For years, Sho would train with wooden swords with the friends he had accumulated, but would get no where in terms of actual growth in swordsmanship. Yet, as his friends would begin to notice, as Sho continued to train, his spiritual energy began to increase, and after a while it became so noticeable that even Sho knew that though he was unskilled in swordsmanship, he had an unbelievable amount of spiritual energy that he had at his disposal. He would soon after learning this beg several shinigami around the Rukongai to teach him the ancient arts of Kido to him so that he could follow his own path to becoming a shinigami. After several failed interactions with the shinigami patrolling the area, eventually he would come upon a rather friendly one who eventually caved to his pleading, and began to teach him how to use Kido. It didn't take long for Sho to take like a fish to water when it came to Kido and even the shinigami teaching him quickly dubbed him as a "natural" to the ways of Shinigami magics. He was chosen to become a part of the academy at the recommendation of the shinigami who he had worked with.
It didn't take long for Sho to be accepted into the academy due to the nature of his high spiritual pressure and his natural taking to kido. Over time, however as he began his training in the arts of the shinigami, he would prove most incompetent when it came to the basics of swordsmanship. Lacking the fundamental skills or reflexes to be a swordsman, he did, however have the skills to be considered a prodigy when it came to kido. Classes based on shinigami magic quickly became Sho's favorite classes as his background in research and science made it easier for his mind to piece together the harder more complex magics that were handed his way. Yet, as he practiced spells, and learned how to use the powers that seemed to come natural to him, he continued to slack off in terms of physical training. This eventually lead him, over time, down a path that would not allow him to fully graduate from the academy due to the nature of his physical state. Sho, at first was resentful, but his hard working nature took him to new heights as he pledged to get stronger in order to graduate. After all, he had never failed before in his life, and he wouldn't start now.
Sho left the academy one day, promising to return once he had grown physically strong enough to become the type of shinigami who could graduate from the academy with flying colors. He was laughed at by several of the graduates for that line of thinking, but none the less Sho went on his way to become stronger. The path took him all the way to the mountains beyond and for a few years Sho would train there and hone his physical tools. He would start with basic studies on how to maximize the potential of flash step as he thought it would be the most useful for his style of combat as he didn't view himself as much of an up close fighter. He would constantly practice lessening the exertion from constantly using the flash step technique and every day it would get easier as he practiced, but none the less the physical tools that he had at his disposal would limit him from getting very far. After learning how to lessen the exertions, he would hit a wall hard, and that was due to his own physical tool set.
For another year, Sho focused on building his body, and learning how to maximize his six foot five frames worth of room. He chose to focus on just building the muscles in his legs and arms so that he could deal more damage with his sword swings, and so that he could support the muscles he was going to build. Over time as his body gradually got more fit and he grew stronger, he began to find ways around the wall that he had built due to his own physical limitations. The early training in flash step seemed to be rewarded by his physical training and vast improvement physically, so for a few more years he continued to build on his own physical frame so that at least if he got into combat with someone up close he would be able to at least defend himself.
This process of training himself physically, Sho wouldn't neglect his kido studies. While the majority of the day would be spent on physical training and working on perfecting a way to flash step without draining too much on his stamina, his nights would be filled with reading books, and studying incantations. For over a decade, Sho would use his training to move around through the mountainous rough terrain, and hone his physical tools while also memorizing and learning new and exciting kido. Eventually, after over two decades of spending time in the mountains, living off the lay of the land, and honing his skills against the random hollows he would encounter from time to time, Sho would return from the mountains, and arrive back at the academy a much different shinigami than he had been before.
He had the physical tools now to complement his own studies in kido, but more than that he carried with him battle knowledge from honing his craft against hollows. With the new tools at his disposal, Sho dominated the academy. In spars, in class, and even in group exercises, Sho was nominated for being considered top of his class. Those who had known the Sho from before would not be able to recognize him as he rose from nothing to becoming something that they could not ignore. As such, as soon as he graduated from the academy he had several offers for different squads, but Sho decided to follow his heart, and join the fifth squad as they presented him with numerous options in terms of further his own goals. After graduation, Sho would gain his true zanpaktou, a normal every day katana, which Sho cherished greatly as a sign of how far he had come since his own death.
Learning the Name and Leaving the Gotei 13
His zanpaktou spirit, a firecracker of a young lady, was not very helpful to Sho when he first heard her speak, she immediately began to call him a nerd, and complained about how she had not gotten a better shinigami as her partner. To be honest, it made life hard as Sho was constantly dealing with his partner mocking him as he tried to do his work in furthering the study, and pursuit of knowledge involving Kido. Even though it was tough, he still respected the spirit, and at times due to their "fuck the authority" attitude they would come to common ground. With his partner actively wanting to play pranks on their captain and wanting to play pranks on their squad mates, which Sho fully approved of. After all, he had spent so much time working on getting to where he was, there was no reason to be stuck up anymore.
So, Sho gained a title, as the joker of squad five, and that reputation seemed to black list him from most of the social get togethers and other other activities that the squad would go to. Yet, his skill in kido could not be denied, nor his passion for it, and at times he would sneak into these events even if they didn't want him present. They eventually allowed Sho to take part, begrudgingly, in some of their more advanced practical application tests, and over time Sho would become famous for being the guy to make things go "boom". His naturally high spiritual energy at times was hard to control, he had found this out over the decades he had spent in the mountains, and as he tried his best to calm his own energies, he would find more often than not, that the power was too much to contain.
The explosions wouldn't amount to much more than a stern talking to and his partner laughing her ass off. It was through one such interaction with a particularly interesting subject that Sho learned the name of his zanpaktou, Jikidenki. Jinks, as Sho referred to her as even to this day, let the name slip out during one particularly non-exciting practice session in the mountains on one of Sho's days off. Sho had been toying around with different kido on that particular day, practicing different spells, and seeing what would stick. More so than that he had been practicing his control, trying to find a way to limit his own destructive mistakes, and eliminate the issues he was facing during his more practical experiments he had been undergoing within the confines of the barracks. After a particularly nasty explosion, he had been banned from the barracks till repairs could be made, and as such he was spending his free time learning how to make the "booms" stop. After all, who would want to sleep outside when they had a nice warm barracks to sleep in.
During this practice Sho would come across a rather dangerous Hollow, one who for the life of him he could not put down with conventional kidos, and his meager swordsmanship skills. So as he struggled to overcome the force of the Hollow, who would more than likely devour him if given the chance, Jikidenki decided to help him out by giving him his release command. Choosing to live rather than to perish with her partner there, Sho who had backed himself into a corner by running through a particularly small cave in the mountains quickly found himself with little options, but to attempt to release his sealed zanpaktou and obtain his shikai. Calling out the command, Sho was greeted by the weirdest released zanpaktou he had ever seen.
A pair of guns lay idle in his hands. Sho, who had never used a gun in his life had no idea what to do, and was quickly attacked by the Hollow again. Sho, would manage to dodge, and began to run away all the while receiving instructions from Jinks on what to do with the guns. As they rushed across the mountain, the Hollow would unleash weird energy which would cause detonations across the mountain top, and though this would normally alarm people, the Fifth Squad wrote it off. Knowing that Sho made the mountain his training grounds and there was no reason to be alarmed. Meanwhile, Sho, after learning how his shikai operated would turn to face the Hollow, who began to emit the same energy again, and in that moment Sho would fire one of the guns saying the key phrase needed to activate the effect. The effect of the blast called the energy of the ability to begin to collide with each other, causing a massive detonation, and ending the Hollows existence.
Tired and barely able to stand, Sho made his way back to the barracks, and found that not a single person had come to his aid. When he inquired about why they were all lazing about, they simply spouted off non-sense about how he was banned from the barracks, and misunderstanding them for not caring about him, he quit the fifth squad. Deciding to go on his own path and leaving Soul Society all together to study kido on his own and to not have any reliance on people who could care less about him. He went to Earth, turned to drinking, and barely gave a crap about his life, until the Vanguard began recruiting people to serve the greater good of the people.
Joining the Vanguard and the Bolivia Incident
Joining the Vanguard was a good decision for Sho, even though he didn't see eye to eye with his superiors during basic training, he still felt better than he had felt in a long time. After spending years in the bottom of a bottle, remorsefully remembering his time wasted in Squad Five, and listening to his zanpaktou bad talk him when he was sober, it was a good change of pace to have a job. He found himself fitting in with the people, having kept in shape even though he was no longer a member of the Gotei 13, and his knowledge of kido still giving him an edge. He was assigned to Sigma Orange, a group tasked with protecting civilians during the conflicts that were to come, and they mostly worked joint operations with the Initiative.
Sho felt at home with Sigma Orange, especially a member known as "sister" who he viewed as his younger sister due to her cutesy nature, and her need to help him with his pranks to their commanding officer. Their officer, a real hard ass, dubbed him the Jester of Orange, and he took the nickname, running with it because he felt it was an affectionate nickname. Sister would eventually give Sho a scarf, something he would treasure till this day. During his time with Sigma Orange, Sho would undergo a lot of operations, and due a lot of excursions behind enemy lines. He earned a reputation as an excellent soldier and received great deals of respect, begrudgingly, from his superior officer who viewed him as an asset to the team.
Over his time as a member of Sigma Orange, Sho got more proficient with his shikai and learned the ins and outs of using it. As he became more adept, so too did his combat ability increase, and the regular training exercises for Vanguard activity were more than enough for him to continue to hone his body and skill set. Yet, from time to time he would pause, and learn more about kido, and advance his own knowledge on the subject, not really creating anything new, but simply learning how to utilize the kido in his arsenal more savantly than before. After many months of learning and training he eventually discovered he could launch kido from his guns, which aided him greatly as incantations were slowing him down enough as it is, and the guns themselves could accelerate the kido thus cutting back on the weakness of kido.
He would use this knowledge in excursions into enemy bases with hostage situations, usually to blast an unprepared demon, or to last minute save a team mate. However, no matter how much he trained, or studied Sho would not be prepared for the Bolivia Incident. What was going to be a routine defense operation, saving some civilians, and orchestrating the evacuation of the area turned into a massacre to do a miscued order. In the middle of the operation, Sho would see rockets fly off from the direction of the "sword" of their operation, a group of vanguard soldiers who were part of the initiative. The rockets would do nothing, but in return the city of Bolivia would erupt into chaos.
Citizens who were still trapped in the city would begin to flee with the assistance of Sigma Orange, while Zwei made the sword of their assault look like nothing more than a group of dominoes waiting to be pushed over. Sho and sister would split off from the main force to do a last sweep of the city block that they were in charge of when a massive building began to collapse. Surprised by the collapse, Sho would surely have died if not for sister shoving him out of the way, and having the building collapse upon her, killing her instantly. Sho, eyes wide, and un-wanting to believe in what had just happened to sister began to aimlessly walk around the city as everything else went to hell. The operation was later dubbed a failure and Vanguard troops were pulled from the city, the majority of the "sword" had been decimated, but even worse only one member of Sigma Orange made it out alive, Sho Fuya.
Sho, much like any survivor of a traumatic event, was placed under psychological examination where he was found to be emotionally distant, and even more so, unstable. Due to the nature of watching his best friend and closest thing to family die before his eyes, he had nothing else to truly live for, and contemplated suicide as a way out. Yet, he was placed under watch, and given meds to edge himself out of the feelings he was having, and eventually he managed to push himself through. However, upon finally turning the corner of what had been a very dark moment in his life, Sho was greeted with a dishonorable discharge from service of the Vanguard. Apparently, the Vanguard needed a scapegoat, and due to their being an excessive amount of red tape, and some members of the "sword" being unliable due to hookups higher in the organization, Sho became the target of hate. In fact, many people thought that Sho himself had orchestrated the assault on Zwei that had caused the incident in a nut shell.
Sho took his papers and told the people of the Vanguard to "cram it", not feeling in the mood to deal with the bureaucratic bullshit that had placed him in this position. He would return to the Rukongai, because at least there he had people who he could trust, and allies who would help him feel even an ounce better than he felt at the time.
Joining the Seventh
It didn't take long for Sho to be called back into service, it hadn't even been a week since his return to the Rukongai when he had received a message from his former captain of the fifth, no longer a captain, but none the less interested in how Sho was moving forward with his life. Sho, who really didn't care about his former captain, tried to brush him off, but was quickly denied the satisfaction, and told that he may be needed in the Gotei. At first, Sho was reluctant, because though he had enjoyed working for the Gotei 13, the misunderstandings of what had happened still plagued him severely. So for a week, Sho would not reply, and instead laze about the inn where he had worked when he had first arrived in Soul Society.
It was boredom that overcame his desires to hold grudges and with a wave to friends that had he hadn't seen in years, he went inside of the Seretei for the first time in many years. There he went to join a guard squad, choosing seven instead of rejoining five, as he felt that the old wounds of being a part of a squad that mistreated him was not something he cared to revisit. So, with finality, Sho joined Internal Affairs, as to better govern the guard squads, and to assist that things like what had happened to him would never happen to another shinigami again.

She barely stands up to be about four foot, ten and she lacks the curves of a more mature lady, though she is indeed just as old as Sho is, if not older. She is, for lack of a better term, quite childish, always choosing to pull pranks on Sho, and is all for helping Sho get his mischevious nature backed up in some form or fashion, going as far to help him plan out pranks and jokes that Sho can use. She usually can be seen wearing a white dress that barely fits her and is much too big for her body in general. It isn't hard to see that Jinks has a slight crush on Sho, which is quite odd for the dynamic of the shinigami/spirit relationship, but none the less she does fawn over him quite a bit. However, when questioned about it she seems to get quite violent, and outwardly repulsed by the thought of being attracted to a womaniser such as Sho.
Jinks is also a bit different in terms of what she is willing to tell Sho, choosing to keep some things hidden in hopes that Sho will find out more about what she has to offer him. This rubs Sho the wrong way as he seems to want the information out right and doesn't want to do much research on the spirit inside of his sword when he could be researching kido or doing work in the seventh squad barracks.
• Inner World: Sho's inner world is always in violent state of upheaval. The world could be considered a barren desert with few rock formations, but above it is where the true form of Sho's world is. A hovering castle surrounded by a powerful electrical storm could be seen by those who had the ability to see inside to his world. Inside of the castle, a place that Sho has only been once to meet Jinks, and learn her name is a vast library with almost indescribable knowledge that Jinks has gathered for Sho about herself and the use of her powers. For now, however the castle gates are closed, and Jinks absolutely refuses to tell Sho how to enter the castle, instead choosing to have him figure it out on his own. The temperature of his world is rather temperant for a desert and the storm above lets out micro-bursts of wind and short bursts of rain that never seem to last long enough, thus giving it its' climate. There is no sun in this world, though there is light cast from the lightning, and the dim stars that twinkle out from between the storm clouds.
On occasion, lightning strikes the desert below, leaving behind glass fragments, and charred craters in its' wake.
• Sealed Zanpakutô Apperance : Sho's sword is nothing special to look at, the only real difference between a proto-typical katana, and sho's Zanpakutō is that the scabbard is yellow with dark orange diamonds placed horizontally down the middle of the scabbard. The blade itself is light and not very thick, which would indeed cause problems in straight up sword fights, and is more than likely a bi-product of Sho's kido specilization over physical training with a blade when he first obtained his Zanpakutō. Yet, due to it being lighter it also is easier to swing, and easy to use for a man who doesn't really specialize in swordsmanship. The blade is a natural metallic color, much like a typical sword, and doesn't really stand out from the rest of the blades in the world save for it being thinner than most blades.
• Sealed Zanpakutô Abilities:
Lightning Rod: Though Sho's Zanpakutō is not really strong enough to go into close quarters with, Sho's Zanpakutō has other uses in its' sealed state. One of those uses is the ability known as Lightning Rod, which allows Sho to absorb electrical energy into his blade, and use that very same energy to enhance the power of his electrical based kido. Much like a common electrical system back in the living world, the blade acts as electrical wiring, transfering the energy of the electric attack to Sho's body harmlessly much like a conventional lightning rod would stop a lightning bolt, but the difference in this situation is it is more like a lightning rod is connected to a battery. Sho's body being the battery in this situation.
There are limits to how much electrical energy Sho can store and after those thresholds begin to be achieved Sho can easily "overload" himself and fry himself from the inside, but Sho knows his limits and will actively avoid absorbing too many electrical attacks as to dodge having to worry about that potential negative effect from happening. Much like a battery, Sho can transfer this electrical energy to his lightning based kido, but not just that, but he can also add that same electrical enhancement to his other kidos. The effects of these enhancements can range from fire kido exploding to further enhancing the damage of water based kido by using the water of the kido as a natural conducter for the electric energy he discharges. Furthermore, kido used to slow or imprison others can be electrified in a similar fashion, making a sort of electric fence further enhancing the defenses of said kido.
The last effect of Lightning Rod is simply discharging the electrical energy across the blade, this is useful for when kido can't be used, and Sho needs to discharge some electrical energy to avoid frying himself. The effects of this are usually quite visible as the blade will turn a blueish color and begin to have sparks flying off of it and lightning beginning to jump from point to point upon the length of the blade. This side of the ability isn't just for show though and can be used to zap opponents much like a stun button with a sharp edge. Depending on how much electrical energy is being discharged the pain of being hit can be increased drastically or slightly. Such as nerve damage and searing in terms of drastic damage to electrical burns and slight numbness from slight energy releases. Those with electrical resistances would take no damage from any of Lightning Rod's given enhancements.
There are of course weaknesses to Lightning Rod, such as solid rock, or earth. The lightning can in fact be grounded and the very same comparison to a lightning rod comes into play here. If the excess energy sent out by this effect were to be grounded the energy would disappate entirely. Meaning the energy would be nullified and the only thing that would be coming their way would be an unaugmented version of the attack or kido used. Furthermore there are other weaknesses, such as conventional insulators that keep electricity from entering into a substance, such a rubber. These too can be used to nullify the aspect of the electrical enhancement that Sho can use with this ability.
• Release: Repel and Attract, Jikideki!
• Shikai Description:
Upon uttering his release phrase, his Zanpakutō begins to let out a discharge of lightning, and then splits into two different weapons. The weapons, an oddity for a shinigami to have, are two guns. Both of these guns are completely silver and appear to resemble long barreled revolvers with leather placed on the handles for comfort purposes. Ocassionaly sparks will come out of the barrels length and upon using shikai abilities sometimes the barrels will glow a distinct electric blue.
• Shikai Abilities:
Spirit Gun: Much like a typical gun from the real word, Jikideki can fire bullets at opponents, these bullets however are not made of lead or silver for that matter, but instead hardened spiritual energy. The hardened spirit bullets, a terms that Sho uses to describe the things he fires with these guns, can be either as blunt as a stone or as sharp as a sword. The bullet quality is changed based on what type of shot that Sho is wanting to fire and the bullets, being formed from his own naturally high spiritual energy, change depending on just how much spiritual energy he is willing to put into each bullet. More energy makes a sharp/penetrating bullet that does it damage by piercing through his target much like a conventional bullet, while less energy creates a shorter range blunt/concussive bullet that feels like the opponent is being hit by a heavy rock.
The effect of the damage in the case of the blunt bullet comes down to tightly condensing the low amount of energy put into the bullet till it is so tight that it appears to be "solid". This solid bullet does its damage due to its weight and the amount of speed put into the launching of the bullet as the bullet's weight is much higher than the piercing bullet. It is very much like putting a rock in a rail gun, the electrical magnetic force inside of the gun, accelerating the bullet much like a rock would be if launched out of said rail gun. The blunt bullet, however due to its not as areodynamic form, does not go as far as the sharp bullet, in fact the sharp bullet goes twice as far as the blunt bullet. The blunt bullet can barely cover a distance of fourty meters before it begins to arc downward and lose acceleration.
The sharp bullet's, which is used to penetrate and cut, damage comes from pouring a bit more spiritual energy into the bullet. The energy appears cylindrical when fired and is more areodynamic than its' blunt counter part. The tip of the "bullet" is quite sharp, easily penetrating through tough armor and very low armor alike. The desired sharpness is created by focusing on tightening the energy at the tip of the bullet until it is a tight edge, much like a knife point, and focusing on forming it into a cylinder so that it is more favorable to reach top speed quicker and fly farther. Much like the blunt bullet it is fired like a railgun was firing it, except in this situation the bullet is a metal knife being shot out at the opponent. This bullet can go as far as eighty meters before it begins to arc downard and lose acceleration.
The gun itself is what enables the firing of such rounds, much like a conventional railgun. This effect is created by making the bullets a specific charge and then using Jikideki's own natural electrical energy to change its' charge to the same charge as the bullet behind where the bullet is being stored in the barrel. This causes a repulsion effect that launches the bullet forward at speeds of up to one skill tier higher in general speed, the speed of the bullet depending on how long the bullet is in barrel, and charging. The gun can in fact "charge up" instead of firing mulitple times to increase the speed and distance of the shot. The speed and distance can not increase to over mach 7 and one hundred twenty meters for the piercing bullet and eighty meters for the blunt bullet.
After eight shots from each gun, Sho must reload the guns. This process takes up to one post to "reload". The final bullet increases the damage of the bullets by 2 skill tiers (If Sho was 2-5, the bullet would do damage as though it were shot by a 2-3). Further more the effects of Stagnate and Accelerate are increased as though Sho were a whole full tier higher (Such if Sho is 2-3, the Accelerate and Stagnate effects would read on the final bullet as though he is a 1-3) on the final shot.
Stagnate: Jikideki is not just two guns that can fire spiritual energy at their foes, but it is also two guns that can harness magnetic and electrical forces to certain degrees. One such degree is known as the "Stagnate" ability. Due to Sho having a background in theoretical energy he can logically understand the charges of energy being fired at him or being used to manipulate the elements. Due to that he can use Jikideki's ability to harness the force of magnetism to change the air particles around the attack to a similar charge to the energy being used to manipulate an element or being launched at him. The effect of this ability is obtained by pointing the gun at said attack and stating "Stagnate" before pulling the trigger on the gun. The gun then launches what appears to be a bright, yellow ball of electrical energy at the attack that disperses in front of the attack, and melds with the particles of air around the attack.
The attack being launched will visibly begin to slow, the amount of the slow will depend on the tier difference between Sho, and his opponent. Those of higher tiers than Sho will only notice very little difference in the amount of speed of the attack, but those of lower tiers than Sho will notice immediately that the energy around the element they are using to attack or the energy used in the attack will begin to slow drastically. Those who are one full tier (if Sho is a tier 2-5, this effect would happen to a 3-5) or below Sho will notice that the energy will completely stop, Ceros stopping in mid-air, kidos completely stalled, and the energy being used to keep the element being used under control completely stopping and causing the element to go rampant, spilling out in different directions.
This ability is used to slow attacks so that Sho can better dodge or to slow energy attacks so that others can dodge the energy based onslaughts coming their way. This effect works similarly on matter, but to a lesser degree as Jikideki's ability to harness magnetism is mostly specialized toward energy based moves, thus the slow will not be of the same level as if it were used on an energy based move. Using this ability counts toward one of the eight shots on either gun and the range of this ability is roughly one hundred meters.
Accelerate: Through the very same method of slowing down attacks with magnetism, the reverse is true for the ability "Accelerate". Accelerate hangs it hat on speeding up techniques by putting a similar charge of magnetic force (positive or negative) behind energy based attacks to speed them up and thus make those attacks harder to dodge. Accelerate is usually used when firing a kido or a spirit bullet at a foe, who at first believes the attack is coming in at one speed, but then Sho will fire a small blue orb out of the barrel out of one of his guns stating "Accelerate" as he does so. The orb implodes behind the kido or bullet, creating a repulsion effect due to the nature of magnetic fields, and launch the bullet or kido into overdrive, increasing the speed of the magic or the bullet by up to one tier skill of extra speed.
This effect can similarly be used on allied energy based attack to a lesser degree, speeding up those attacks to a lesser degree than his own.. This makes Sho a very useful support in terms of combat as he can aid energy users through his shikai to this degree. In a very similar fashion he can also use Accelerate to screw up the timing of his foes energy attacks by sending them backwards a short distance using the repulsion of magnetic force of a similar charge. Much like stagnate, he would do this to dodge the attack or to help his allies dodge the attack. Whichever direction Sho is pointing his gun when using this ability will cause the ability to launch in that direction meaning that if Sho launches at a foe's ability from the side, it will repel the energy based ability to the side. Causing the energy to veer off course and hit at another location entirely.
This effect, similar to stagnate, has tier limitations in a sense that if it is used on a foe's energy attack of a higher tier there would be very little veering. Those of a similar tier would see it veer off course moderately, while those of a one full tier lower (If Sho is a 2-5 then this effect would apply to a 3-5) than Sho would have the attack completely veer off course. Much like Stagnate this ability takes a single shot of whichever gun it is fired from. The range of this ability is one hundred meters.
Kido Cannon: Sho doesn't need to fire kido from his hands due to the nature of this ability and instead can fire kido from his guns. However, unlike firing kido from his hands, firing kido from his guns is slightly faster, increased by one total skill tier in terms of general speed. This effect is similar to Starrk's ability which allows him to fire Cero from his guns, but unlike Starrk's firing being almost limitless, these shots of kido are limited. Namely limited by the amount of shots left in each gun, meaning he has a total of four kido in each gun, and each kido he uses through his gun takes away two shots from his total eight per gun. However, Sho can "store" a kido shot in his guns, meaning he will not have to perform the verbal component to fire this specific kido. The kido fired from a "stored" shot will do more damage and be considered a skill tier higher than what it actually is. This is due to the kido being enhanced by the natural electrical energies of his shikai.
To store a kido, Sho must take a post to store the kido in his gun by placing one hand on the gun he wishes to store the shot in, and uttering the verbal component. Once stored, that gun will have two less shots available to it, and those shots can only be "reloaded" by expending the stored kido inside. Sho can store up to three kido in each gun, but with each stored kido the amount of extra power that each kido will receive is decreased by .5. Meaning that if two are stored, both kido will receive a .5 skill tier increases on firing and if three are stored there will be no increase. The range of the kidos used by this effect are increased by thirty meters.
Attract Earthen Metals: By firing the a shot at the ground, Sho can pull up earthen metals by attracting them toward the energy fired. This can create natural terrain shields and obstacles that foes will have to move over or bull doze through. This ability is usually used to create cover for himself or allies so that he can fire from cover or shield his allies from harmful effects. This ability can also be used to attract those with earthen metals on their body (such as earthen metal armor or simple keychains), forcibly dragging them forward toward Sho to either get them closer to him for an attack or to pull them away from harm. The gun acts as a magnet, attracting the metal toward the gun in the instance of drawing an ally or a foe closer to him.
Much like the other effects of Jikideki, using this ability takes a shot. The range of this ability is fifty meters.
Improved Lightning Rod: Much like the Lightning Rod ability of its' sealed form, Jikideki retains the ability to absorb electrical energy into itself. Unlike its' sealed counterpart, however Jikideki can further enhance kido with electrical energy when kido is fired from the one of the two guns and negates the lowering of the increased power of kido by .5 if this ability is active and there are stored kido inside of the guns. Meaning that if there are two kidos stored in the guns there power will be up by one skill tier, but if there are three the power of those kidos will only be increased by .5 skill tier. Furthermore, Jikideki can actually launch lightning from the barrel of the gun instead of using the lightning to enhance to enhance kido.
This lightning will fire in whatever direction that Sho aims his guns and does not take up a shot, scorching earth, and burning whatever comes into contact with it. Those that are resistant to electrical damage can completely ignore the lightning fired. The lighting can go as far as two hundred meters and can only be used if electrical energy is present due to the "Lightning Rod" ability.• Bankai Description: (You may fill out your Bankai Description, but unless you get staff permission, you may not use your Bankai right off the bat. Comments/Notes: For Spirit Gun, I think that the enhancements from the last shot should only up it two tiers. So if 2-5, it would feel like a 2-3 shot the bullet. That's my only qualm with Spirit gun.
For stagnate, my only issue is the tiers that it starts stopping energy at. I want it to be an entire tier level below him for now. So 3-5 would stop 4-5 and below.
Same thing for Accelerate. Entire Tier leap of 5 pls b.
For now, make Kido cost Two Bullets. Too much for the tier I have in mind for now.

Alright, I've made the necessary adjustments as you suggested. I just wanted the Shikai to be strong as I don't know when I will be doing a bankai update in the future for Sho. Though I agree it does seem a bit overwhelming, save for the Kido Cannon which I didn't think was too strong, but I will defer to you, and your experience in this case.
