Odd man out [Desu]

With the sound of the whistle blowing he let out a pent up breath, the run was over. For the first half of the gym period on Thursday the students were required to run and in this gigai it was harder for Carter than when he was in his shinigami form but being a 'student' at this school like he was assigned meant he had to fit in somewhat.
The thought of fitting in made him roll his eyes, that's the last thing he did around here. A short, white hair, mid term transfer student would never fit in, hell even when he tried to join the chess club he was made to play the kid who refused to shower until he decided to quit.
Behind him a foot connected with rubber and the air whistled slightly as a ball came at the back of his head, If I'm going to be the weird kid might as well scare them to leave me alone He thought before turning on the balls of his feet and flipping in the air with his hands in his pockets. His left foot connected with the ball and it went flying past the kid who sent it, the smirk whipped off his face.
Carter looked at him with his glossy eyes while upside down in mid air before gravity took over and he found his footing again. The longer he spent in this school the more alone he felt, sure he had three people he could probably call friends, two of whom he didn't understand why for the life of him they were friends.
"This might just be a posting but it's shitty to not have a soul to talk to every day." He mumbled to himself while walking past his back pack and scooping it up. The shade of the equipment shed was were the rejects hung out and he would walk by them, knowing he wasn't wanted even here. With a content shrug he walked on and back into the sprawling school, heading toward the one place no one would bother him, the library. It was a beacon to an age forgotten to him, the musty smell of books, the words written by men long dead that still echoed through out the ages.
One the way down the halls he stopped by his locker, putting his pack up since after this period he would be out for the day and his homework was already finished. "What a drag, even one little hollow fight would be better than this boring crap." He spit, slamming the flimsy metal of his locker door with a vibrating rattle before walking down the hall and to the right, into the only scared ground on this campus.
Once again he let out a pent up breath and strolled down the aisles of books, having read over half of them in his few short weeks here he just picked ones at random anymore that he hadn't read. Today was a book called The Vampire Lestat, the thickness told him it would last him at least a day and a half. Once he gathered the hard covered book he sat down at one of the desks in the back corner where he assumed he would be left in peace to read.

Having found a desk int he library with literally no one else around except the sleeping librarian Carter would stick his nose in a book about Alexander the Great, wondering if the man was more than just a man in his time, if he was something else. Carter could very well have seen the man being a quincy but in combat the fearless leader had never used a bow.
His feats were great and many and Carter wished he could learn from the man still, wished he had survived the test of time and was still breathing. Leaning back he would look up at the ceiling with his hands behind his head, his fingers sliding through his white locks. In his mind's eye he could see himself leading a seething mass of holy shinigami against the darkness that was shadowfall. Sure that would be a life time away but it was nice to day dream, in his mind he thought of how he would beat Mana in a fight to the death, the two exchanging heavy blows and Carter looking as if he were about to lose only to unleash his true power and wipe her away, in her final moments cleansing her soul so she could be reborn. It's no good to day dream... He chastised himself before looking back down and thinking of his posting.
Hopefully this would be his last pointless post. This town was safe, it was over kill to bring him here with so many giants walking around and keeping the dark at bay. He would only get in the way and hardly ever got a blip on his phone let alone had to fight a single Hollow. He knew though that he was posted here while his application for a Gotei Captain was processed. The last thing the wounded organization would want is to have a possible leader die in an unsafe environment before he could be of any use.
He had many plans if he was approved but that was highly unlikely considering how weak he was compared to the other current captains. He had a few abilities that might make him look half decent though that he hoped would carry him through to the position of Squad 7's Captain. Not a single person was fighting for it which was to be expected these days, most people wanting to go rogue and do their own thing as was 'cool' now. He was still devoted to the cause and found himself idolizing Alexander the Great for that reason.
"If only you were alive, you could help me out." He muttered as hands slammed down on his desk and jostled him, catching him off guard due to his day dreaming. A flitty looking blonde girl with stunning blue eyes would yell at him something about being a hero or some sort of demon king. His eye brow raised when he looked up, ignoring the question he would introduce himself. " We're in a library, can you please shut up, or at the very least be quiet. I'm Carter by the way." He said, his eyes flicking the the librarian who hadn't even stirred, still snoring awya before coming back to the girl.

Yeah he had already figured this girl out, she was bat shit crazy. She was muttering something about not answering his question that made no sense to begin with then tried to clarify it by asking what he was the demon king or the hero, what he was. If his eyebrow had been raised before now it would almost be touching the ceiling. He knew she couldn't tell he was different by sensing his spirit pressure. That had been rendered impossible when he gained his angelic ascension.
Sure he was a shinigami but he was separated from the rest in the sense he had no noticeable spirit pressure, he appeared a normal human to those who were spiritually aware. This girl had to just be a fruit cake who latched onto anyone that caught her attention and he found himself unlucky enough to be that person. His mind thought back to his flip scissor kick. It wasn't entirely uncommon to see an active teenage boy perform that feat but he could have caught her attention back then and that would explain a lot.
He would keep staring at the girl before exhaling, letting out frustration. He was just trying to blend in at a high school he didn't want to be at, it was a boring posting, no demons, no hollows, nothing to save. This place was so relaxed and mellowed out that it made him want to bang his head against the wall. He was used to high risk fast paced things going on around him and now he felt like a snail caught in a society of slugs. Not that he looked down on the humans but he did wish he could have had a more meaningful posting until the Gotei 13 returned the verdict on his possible advancement.
With nothing better to do he would humor the girl, clearing his throat he spoke up, " I'll answer your question but only if you answer mine first, are you a whack job or are you a supernatural?" His response holding a slight amount of sarcasm. Something was telling him she might not be nuts at all and he was trying to figure out how she managed to find out he wasn't normal. No one could detect his abilities even if he used them so he was set back and kind of surprised and he didn't like to be surprised.
