A Fateful Meeting [Andy]
Sat Sep 19, 2015 3:30 am
The white-haired recruit was easily found within the halls of the Vanguard's Base. Bottle of water grasped tightly within her left hand, towel slung over her shoulders as she was just called away from her own personal training. Plastic bottle slowly raised up to her lips, tipping it back as she took a few sips to re-hydrate herself. So soon she was already challenged, met new powerful people, and was shown just how much farther she had to go before becoming one of the best. Thoughts began to wander, mainly focusing on the request sent out to her. A new face already being asked for by name for the higher-ups... Well, at least higher up when compared to her position within the Initiative as simply a member.
Boots fell upon the grounds of the base, body gently bouncing up and down with every step, almost a hop. She was excited, lips curling upwards into a smile as the cap was screwed back unto her bottle. She had already met the leader of the Vanguard, Azure, and seemed to be at least liked by him. Mind fondly remembering the meeting and how it certainly left a good impression with her, it also stopped her from staying in a spar long enough to break a few bones. Dull ache felt within the back of her knees and her right arm's wrist at the mention of injuries. The fight was quite scary and was a test of her power. And she personally thought she did well. Eyes slowly widened as she shook her head, getting off topic once again as she soon found herself in front of a door. Glancing towards the room's number and nodding as she found the correct one. The one she's been called to head towards.
Why was she called by someone new? There were others who were stronger than her, and people much more accustomed to the ways the Vanguard worked. A fairly bruised hand found itself curling into a fist to gently rap against the door. Knocking upon it as her free hand grasped the handle to turn and push inwards. Body leaning forwards to peek past the opening, curious look on her face as she spoke out before even seeing if anyone was in the room. "Yo, uhm, I was sort of called here by someone so just seeing if this it the right room. Still new and could have heard the summon wrong." Voice a bit too laid back to be considered professional, and not once did she ever seem to care about appearing fully professional. Normal attire worn, sporting a white shirt with black jacket over it. Metal gauntlets covering most of her forearm with short shorts for her privates.

Was this really the best room the winged bastard could muster up for him? Kamui found himself on his back, looking up at the ceiling as his legs kicked idly through the air above him. He had been given a lot of license to conduct his operations upon getting here. He'd been permitted to establish the squad he desired, he had been permitted to establish the his own base of operations, in fact he had impressed enough to be given a high ranking position in the Vanguard's Intelligence organization. It wasn't much of an accomplishment, intelligence was not exactly something they had an overwhelming supply of, but his the organization he was playing liaison to had been quite charitable all things considered. Unfortunately, Kamui was nothing if not entitled, the least they could do in his mind was give him a better room to work with. Alas, this was what he had to work with, for better or worse. It was a pretty dry room, the walls were barren, the floor riddled with mats, and if it was a little bigger it'd actually be perfect for his purposes. Unfortunately, it wasn't perfect, but it was definitely serviceable. Kamui opened up the manila folder containing the dossier on the Initiative Member named Elysia, no last name. That was amusing in and of itself.
Then she came through the door...and the other thing he found especially interesting about her came in to full view. Kamui did not do much to hide his rather incorrigible tendencies and the focus of his eyes was something he made no effort to disguise as they immediately made a beeline for the girl's chest. Kamui rolled over on to his stomach before painfully prying his eyes away from her chest to her eyes, playfully kicking his legs behind him as he looked her calmly in the face before turning his attention back down at the dossier, gently, but quiet audibly, mumbling to himself.
"Elysia, close range combatant, hot headed, impressive initiation, yadda yadda yadda..."
Kamui shut the folder and pushed himself up in to a crouch, his attention shifting back to the woman in the process. He had taken an interest in her for rather obvious reasons, two of them, but that was only going to carry her so far as a member of the Vanguard...father in other pursuits but she was going to have to demonstrate aptitude beyond that elsewhere. The young man sighed and raised himself to a standing position, softly tossing the folder to the side.
"I doubt I've been introduced or really announced, so we'll get that out of the way. My name is Kamui Cruor, I am the Crown Prince of the Northern Kingdom of the Sugiuran Realm, etc etc titles titles and presently the Liaison to the Vanguard. Part of my duties involve evaluation and education of Vanguard combatants, particularly those of the Initiative. Those who do not qualify, for one of the central programs are to receive individual evaluation and education."
A soft smile played across his features as the words left him, a soft smile that somehow came across as incredibly condescending. It was true, she wasn't picked for the squad or for any of his other projects, but Kamui had picked her for something important, important to him at least, and if she truly knew about it then the tactic he was employing most likely would not work. He needed her to prove herself however, to demonstrate for him that she deserved to be given such a gift. He would not be able to determine if she deserved it if she wasn't coming at him with blood in her eyes.
"Do you want to know why you weren't selected despite these rave reviews from Azure? Mostly because I think the man is soft. I don't see anything special before me now, outside of your chest which I have to admit is rather impressive, and I don't know what Azure sees in you. You're simply not good enough, too weak, whatever descriptor you want to use...feel free to demonstrate to the contrary."

Elysia had found herself within a fairly plain room. With how the message was brought to her, she honestly thought that the decor would be much better. Or at the very least, a few potted plants that most fancy meeting rooms seemed to had. The door was pushed open fully, form coming into full view as eyes began to scan the area. Nope. Nothing really worth noting- Eyes soon found themselves on a person staring right at her. Eyes focused a bit lower than her own gaze, and only a few moments for her face to become one of un-amusement. Eyes narrowing towards him as she seemed to just wait until his eyes finally met hers.
An eyebrow was raised at the mention of her name, what she was good with... Even the fact that she was considered above average in her initiation. Slowly her weight shifted unto one leg, hips thrusted out to the side slightly as a hand rested upon it. Eyes only keeping their glare straight unto him. Already this just seemed like something that would be more of an annoyance to her rather than a gain. Someone who got a crappy room and her dossier that didn't really have anything of importance within it. Her fingers quickly balled into fists, joints cracking rather loudly as she relaxed once more.
Her stance seemed to change just slightly when he announced his name and position. She didn't really know many names or groups due to her lack of knowledge on the outer world... But she definitely knew enough to know a prince of anything led to having some form of power to back their actions. Her weight shifted once more, leaning backwards against the door as it shut behind her, arms raised over her generous chest to cross over it and obscure view to make sure she was the one this meeting was for. Not her assets. It didn't take a genius either to tell with how he spoke that she was going to be chosen for some special form of training. If fighting a hulking brute that seemed ready to tear her head off her shoulders wasn't enough, now a special thing that people could be denied from was offered.
"Well, I can certainly say that Azure was much better at not being a pervert." Eyes rolled to the side once the comment was made, boot gently tapping against the ground due to her feeling fairly anxious despite the sly insult, or sly at least within her mind. The whole scenario before her was odd and would normally cause many other people to be a bit more cautious around someone of such a high ranking. But, Elysia was cocky, she knew she was a member of the Vanguard, and deep in their base, and this person didn't seem like someone who'd start a fight if Azure granted them a room to use despite how crappy it was.
The smile he gave to her left her feeling quite odd. And a bit challenged, lips pursed as a greater feeling of annoyance was visible on her face. She kept somewhat calm however, this person still had power over her in some way, shape, or form. She had not the slightest clue of his true intentions, of what goals he had hidden by the same smile her offered out towards her. A few memories of her life began to flash by, all of situations many people would prefer to forget, but these... These she wanted to remember instead, in order to help pave the way for her life in the future. Many time she was taken out to the sides by those who ran the Pits, making deals and offers for the 'shows', and they would promise to smuggle things for her... Most of the time, it involved slaughtering a friend instead of simply incapacitating them.
It was obvious she was zoning out for a few moments, eyes staring ahead blankly before her head shook. Focus turned back to the man before her who spoke once more. A brow was cocked, head tilted to the side just slightly at a little bit confusion. Why would she receive reviews from Azure? She only had one fight, and quite honestly lost it in almost it's entirety, only aspect of it that she won was tenacity. The next view comments delivered led to her eyes narrowing forwards, fingers squeezing her elbows tightly as the crossed arms seemed to tense just slightly. "I'm not all about my breasts dumb ass, I've done a lot of shit. I know you fancy spiritual fighters in these giant bases fighting for the good of the world can blow up islands or whatever else the fuck you all do, but that doesn't mean everyone below you is 'weak'."
The woman pushed herself off against the wall, arms resting at her sides now as her chest was thrust outwards slightly enough. A gesture that used to mean that you were assertive and preferred to be more dominate within fights within the Pits... But here, she wasn't all too sure, and just hoped it wouldn't lead to more stared. "If you called me just to insult the strength I've had to kill people for, then I'd rather go back to actually training then waiting around in a lonely room reading papers by yourself." There was a bit of venom within her voice, one that showed that if she matched his strength, she would be a lot closer and exerting more pressure upon him. Already, he had a bad start to getting on her good side... But what did that matter for someone who can surpass her, or even end her before she could even make a difference in the world?

Jovial. The word to describe the laugh that came from young Kamui was jovial. He sounded like he was genuinely having fun with her responses. Even in so far as he seemed to be disregarding the bulk of it. There was no change in his demeanor when she threatened him, when she growled, when she said something about fancy spiritual fighters as if in their world that was some sort of insult or even the threat to go back to her training. Even if they were on the same plane of power, he would have responded with such amusement, but coming from this girl was even more comical. The second the last word left her lips he just could not help himself. Before she could even respond to his laughter, Kamui raised his arms above his head and grabbed the back hem of his collar, quickly discarding it as his hand pressed against his chest. From the spot he touched on his shoulder, a small circle began to expand, as if he tattoo'd his own chest. Blossoming and extending out as separation formed between the circle, shifting in to rings as a tiny dot at his core expanded, the tattoo morphing in to a target one might see on a shooting range. As this process unfolded, Kamui spoke to the woman.
"You mean Azure is a lesser pervert, of course. You're mistaken however. I have yet to blow up an island, that is not however why you are weak."
Kamui took a few steps forward, his face returning to that blank, "happy" facade that he had held prior as his eyes shifted to hers once again. She was a coarse person, abrasive, rough, a whole lot of negative qualities that would normally turn a mentor off. However, unlike most of these people, Kamui understood war, he understood what true combat was, he understood what the ugly side of their world looked like. The greatest warrior was not going to be the strongest, nor the brightest, nor the most sadistic...it was going to be the one that was willing to get dirty, the one who was willing to sacrifice, the one who was willing to do whatever it took to win. That was the one who won. That was the one who mattered, that was the victor. This girl understood that. Talent and ability only mattered so much if you weren't willing to capitalize on it. He didn't care if she was strong, or smart, or talented, those were things that could be supplemented with work. You needed the mindset, the core ideology, he was hoping she had it.
"Hayden, you lost didn't you?"
Kamui's eyes and head turned, shifted toward the blank wall and almost instantly an image began etching itself on to the blank wall. Forming the lines and contours of the figures as Kamui shifted his eyes back toward the girl, still wearing the same expression he'd worn since day one. From what his mother told him, this was the kind of training his father performed and while he did not especially care for the man, he did have some nice ideas and it was difficult to argue with results. Besides, his perversion was something his son had definitely inherited and he was not above using an effective and enjoyable tactic when it worked. He was sure just seeing the image that was being put on the wall was probably going to piss her off even more than calling her out on her defeat would, but he was banking on her interest in where he was going with this would keep her at bay...if only to let him finish speaking.
"If you don't want to lose again, we're going to play a game. You land a solid hit to my abdomen before I manage to...heh..."strike" each of those six points, and I'll acknowledge your strength and I'll acknowledge your strength and put you in to the accelerated program for our most esteemed soldiers. Undoubtedly the quickest way the Vanguard has to offer for increasing power. Feel free to walk out that door or begin whenever."
