Personality

Personality: Steven is the type of person that can commonly be seen thinking about problems and fights. While he does do physical training on a regular basis this is not his primary focus. Even when he is training he is still thinking about what areas he is weak in and what his own strengths are. He analyzes things almost constantly. It is possible to find Steven sitting around seemingly staring in the distance or wondering around lost in thought. Some believe that this indicates that Steven is lazy or easily distracted. This is not the case. Steven has a focus that is far beyond most people. He is able to focus on problems and address issues that others are content to ignore. He takes everything he does very seriously sometimes never resting until something is solved. He doesn’t take very well to jokes as he sometimes has trouble understanding them. He is very serious but also extremely loyal. He considers this to be something that is very important. Those that break vows, promises, friendships, or betrays people, he hates. He believes that these are not things to be taken lightly and will hunt those down that choose to betray others. Those that hold to these things he likes well enough. It isn’t enough for him to consider someone a friend however. That is something that it takes time to order to accomplish. He does not lightly consider someone a friend but once he accepts someone’s friendship he will keep to that friendship and protect them with everything he has.

- Likes: He likes puzzles and challenges. Things that get him to think about the situation are his favorite activities. He also likes a good fight because they keep his skills honed and sharp. The greater the challenge set before him the more fun he has trying to overcome it. He likes having control of as many variables as possible. Loyalty and friends he holds close to him.

- Dislikes: He hates anything that his luck bases as it never seems to be with him. He hates gambling and those to do it. He will make bets but only when it is a contest of skill since he has some control. Oath breakers and betrayers he loaths. Those that harm others he finds pathetic especially if it is for no other reason then simple enjoyment.

Background History:

Learning:

Steven was raised in an interesting environment. He is what you would likely call a nerd and at the same time he was part of a rather wealthy family. He had more than enough money to feed the nerd life. He bought hundreds of dungeons and dragons books, played tons of videogames, was constantly reading books, he even did some live action role playing. Throughout his life he had a fascination with medieval weapons and fighting despite the modern age of guns. He decided that just playing and reading about this style of fighting he wanted to actually learn how to do it himself. With all that money and time he knew that it was a dream he could actually accomplish.

He started looking everywhere he could think of in order to find those that he wanted to learn from. Those that could teach him how to fight with ancient weapons. His first trip was Europe. It was here he had found a renowned fencing master. He trained hard to learn how to fence and his skill quickly grew. Quick attacks and fast movements were difficult at first but he showed an aptitude for it. When his teacher finally decided that he had learned everything he could less than a year had passed and Steven was not even yet a teenager. His master gifted him a rapier so that Steven could continue practicing. He was grateful but he knew it wasn’t anywhere near enough. He wanted to learn more.

It was the beginning of his travels around the world to learn as much as he could about as many fighting styles as possible. He traveled to japan and learned of the katana both using quick draw sword and sheath style of fighting and kendo style swordsmanship. Sometimes already knowing one form of fighting makes it harder to learn another but Steven managed to meld the methods together forming his own unique styles. He traveled to Africa and learned the spear from several tribes scattered throughout the land. It took him a while because it was a totally different weapon then he was used to at that point. He then traveled to England where he learned how to use a long and short sword both. It was years of travel that he spent learning everything there was to know but he considered it all worth it.

Consequences:

After learning so much from so many people Steven decided to try out his skills in an actual competition. He entered a renaissance fair that had an open competition for weapon duels. He was the youngest and probably the weakest person to enter the competition. Still he wasn’t afraid to enter in the slightest. He knew he had learned enough to hold his own here. His first opponent was a large man that held a long sword and tried to use it with brute force to take Steven down quickly. Rather than allow this Steven simply dodged his attacks for a while until he found the pattern. He learned where the opening was and when the man made a foolish strike towards him Steven leapt at the man causing him to stumble backwards falling over and losing his weapon. Everyone was astounded that such a young boy had managed to pull off a victory like that.

Other competitors had taken note of this young boy that had emerged out of nowhere to win his first victory in one shot. He had a series of tough matches following that first one. Every time his opponent tried a different tactic and every time he managed to pull off a victory. He might have been young but he proved that he was just as capable as these older more experienced men. That is until the semifinal round. He came across a man that should have been easy to defeat. He used his strength like the first man when Steven went for an opening he found it closed. He couldn’t figure out how to get through to win this fight. Eventually Steven himself went down and had to give up the fight. He was a little down about the fact that he lost but he had made it all the way to the semifinals on his first tournament. The man that beat him tried to put him down calling him a fool that should have learned his lesson. He claimed that the others had gone easy on him since he was young. The other competitors all congratulated him on making it as far as he had. He knew that he would have to enter again in order fight that man again and win next time.

Steven prepared for a tournament for the next year. He practiced hard with every style he knew thinking about how he had lost. He couldn’t find an opening to get in so he had to find a way to make one. He crafted himself his very own weapon to use in the ring. He followed all of the regulations so he could enter with it. It had a blunted blade on both sides but it was split down the middle. That was a structural problem but he only needed it for one fight. When the tournament started he knew what he had to do. He fought his way through the matches once more. He watched the man that he set out to beat. They were in opposite brackets so they would fight in the finals. Steven knew he would make it there as well as this other man. It was there that Steven brought out his new sword. His opponent laughed at it saying it was a foolish weapon that would shatter. The fight started out like before. Steven looked for an opening while dodging and he saw the same fake opening as last time. A swing downwards towards him but he would be ready to make a side swipe when Steven made his move. This time however rather than dodge Steven caught the other man’s sword in the split of his. With a quick twist he pulled the sword from his opponents hand catching it himself winning the match and the finals of the tournament. He tried to give the sword back and congratulate his opponent on a good fight but his opponent stormed out of the arena.

One thing that Steven did not realize was just how much honor that his opponent lacked. The other fighters all come out and congratulated Steven on his stunning win and commented on how surprising and clever his strategy had been. He still felt uncomfortable with how his opponent had simply stormed out of the arena like that. There was something wrong in his eyes when he looked at Steven. He knew that he was planning to do something reckless but he never predicted exactly what that would be. He stayed with the other fighters as they all went out to celebrate the tournament ending. Steven celebrated right along with the others even going so far as to pay for all of the drinks. Slowly everyone started to leave and head home to rest up after the long day of fighting and start preparing for the next tournament when they would undoubtedly see each other again and probably at least a couple of new faces. When Steven decided to leave he was surprised at what he found. The opponent from that last match was waiting for him outside. He simply stood there and said nothing. Suddenly he heard the gunshot and felt the pain in his chest. He looked down and saw the blood flowing down his body as he fell to his knees before falling to the ground. He someone holding down the man that had shot him but he knew it was too late for him. His opponent that he had beaten in the last round had taken his revenge though he would pay for it dearly.

Death:

Steven knew that something had happened to him. He could remember that he was somewhere that he wasn’t before. But he knew that he was in the right place. He hadn’t been angry when he had died and he didn’t feel overly attached to anything so when he did die he moved on quickly on his own without ever having to be sent to the soul society. Talking to some people there they told him where he was and that he had died in the world of the living if he was here. It was difficult for him to believe that he was actually dead but he knew that it was all true.

One thing that people told him was a little strange was that he didn’t remember that much about his old life before he had died. Most people remembered their families and a bit about whom they were. He didn’t really remember much of anything really. He lived most of his live on his own and following his own path. Even when his parents were there then never really spent that much time with him. They had been too busy for that so it wasn’t that big of a surprise that he didn’t remember them that much. His live had revolved around the training that he had sought and that had stuck well with him.

He had shown up in one of the more low-class areas of soul society and it was considered to be a bit dangerous when it comes to crimes. Steven looked around and knew that he didn’t like the place that much because of that reason. He decided to use the skills and training that he remembered and start trying to clean up the town. Whenever he saw people trying to steal he would chase them down. If somebody was being attacked he would defend them. It surprised people how quickly crime rates were decreasing. He was starting to become known as something of a protector and a hero to the town.

One day the shinigami came through the town to check up on things. There were at least a few people that were upset with the seireitei because of the fact that they showed up to help the common folk so little. A group of these waited for one of the shinigami to be isolated so they could attack him. Shingami are highly trained but even the best man is overcome by numbers. Steven, seeing this attack begin, rushed in to help the shinigami. He took the shinigami’s back with nothing more than a quarter staff and blocked the gang attackers from sneaking up behind him while the shinigami used the back of his sword to keep from hurting anyone. They were still outnumbered but slowly the men began to either fall unconscious or flee away. Steven didn’t stick around but a few days later he receive an invitation to join the Shinigami Academy. He never learned the name of the shinigami he had helped but he knew it was most likely because of him that he got the invitation.

The Academy:

When Steven first went to the academy to test into the classes it was clear that his sharp mind and natural ability with a weapon would be to his advantage. He easily earned a place in the advance class which he figured would provide him with a challenge. He excelled in the classroom portion of the school but during the practicals his ability with Kido soon proved to be average at best and sometimes outright terrible. He practiced with it often to try and grow better but he had to admit that for some reason it was difficult for him to handle. When it came time to practice dueling with practice swords he was one of the best. Others in the class did provide a challenge but he was able to win every match for some time.

Eventually he started to get paired up against older students that had been practicing for some time and even against a few shinigami that visited the school to help train the students. Slowly he started to learn that his skill with a sword was not going to be enough for him to excel. He did use it to win a few matches but he lost as well. He knew that these opponents were not anywhere near the best of the shinigami. He started to train himself more, often times being on his own running or swinging his sword. He started to wonder with a near blank look on his face as he thought out his strategy. This is when he started to gain the reputation of being lazy or distracted.

Steven never slacked in studies and learned everything that he needed to in order to graduate with high marks. He was ready to join the 13 squads. He knew that in the academy his growth would be limited so when he was offered to graduate early by one year he took it. He wanted to get out there and learn more to get stronger. He intended to one day be one of the best. He would continue to learn and grow. He would aim to become a captain someday. He knew it was a long way off but he knew where he was headed.

Zanpakutō

Reiatsu Color: Red

- Zanpakutô Spirit Name: Oruzje

- Zanpakutô Spirit Appearance: In the inner world Oruzje looks like a 6foot tall robbed figure. There is little visable beyond the robe but it is clear that he is strong from his movements and posture. There is no face visible through the hood of the robe. Various weapons can be seen protruding from his back as if he had been struck by them which disappear if he is using that particular weapon. When in Bankai the face beneath the hood becomes a copy of what his opponents Zanpakutō looks like in their world.

- Inner World: The inner world is a large plain with grave markers all around it. Ruins can be seen scattered about that resemble walls and forts. There is rusted armor and broken weapons scattered around the plain as well. It appears to be the remains of a large battle from long ago.

- Sealed Zanpakutô Apperance : When not using his Zanpakutō it simply remains in the form of a katana.

Shikai Abilities-Oruzje’s main ability is that it can take on the form of a variety of weapons. It is adaptable so it can be used in a very wide range of situation. Different forms slightly increase Steven’s physical capabilities but cause a decrease in another.

Shikai Description- All of the weapon forms that Oruzje can take have silver blades/body’s while the handle wraps are all brown. Oruzje cannot assume the form of two weapons at once.

Form Increases Decreases
Dagger Speed Durability
Long Sword Weapon Skill Strength
Axe StengthWeapon Skill
Shield DurabilitySpeed
Lance Rangepoint defense
Blade BootsHoho Kido
Metal Gloves Hakuda Zanjutsu
Great Sword ZanjutsuHakuda
Trident KidoHoho

He evaluates his enemies moves to try and determine which weapon is the best to use in any given situation. He can change during the battle as the situation changes. This does take a small bit a time during which he would be vulnerable which makes him try to limit the number of changes he uses to prevent his opponents from taking advantage of this weakness. He must be careful to make sure that his opponents do not take advantage of his weakened abilities

There are other forms that the weapon can take but none that Steven able to yield yet. These weapons are apparent on the back of his Zanpakutō in his spirit world.

Bankai Description-As with his shikai his Zanpakutō has a changeable shape. One large difference is that there is one part of his bankai that IS permanent when it is released. Once released a pair of glasses form over his eyes. Text can sometimes be seen scrolling through the lenses.

Bankai Abilities-His bankai is very complex yet at the same time rather simple. His weapon actually takes exact same shape, form, and abilities of his opponent’s weapon. If his opponent uses a Zanpakutō it will become a perfect copy but otherwise it is only be able to manage a rough impersonation. For example he could copy a shinigami or vizard weapon perfectly but an arrancar’s where the body is changed he would simply get some form of armor that would essentially copy the extra abilities the arrancar received. He will ONLY get the abilities that come from his opponents weapon itself. If the ability is something that they can use without the weapon it cannot be copied. (for example if it is something that a Zanpakutō must be released for he can use it but if it can be used in a sealed state then he can’t.) Steven’s capabilities are still the same no matter what. He will not gain extra speed if it is a speed based weapon but be forced to use his own. This means that if an opponent is stronger then he is that the abilities he can produce will be somewhat weaker. If is opponent is instead weaker then he is he will be able to produce a stronger version of the same abilities. The text that scrolls through the glasses he is wearing is a technical readout of the copied weapons abilities. Some people seek him out because he sometimes thinks of ways to use weapons that his opponent didn’t think of themselves.

Release-Take form Oruzje (to release (can start as anything)), Shift Oruzje (to change the weapons form) (He raises his sword in front of his eyes and says) Peer into their heart and reflect what his hidden there, Bankai Mirall Oruzje (obviously for bankai)(his sword then disappears as his glasses begin to form.)

One thing. About the Bankai (even though it's crossed out) I might as well address it now. When you copy an enemy weapon, change it so that the copied abilities are adjusted to Steven's own power level. For example. If you copy an ultra mega death weapon from a 0-2 that creates big nukes on demand. You would adjust it to your much lower tier to create relatively large explosions on demand, though not nearly as great as their's. Or, if you copy a weapon from a lower tier like 5-0 that shoots tiny fireballs, make it so that you can shoot larger fireballs. Get it?
