The Endless Night (SOLO)
Thu Jan 29, 2015 9:49 pm
James lay in his bed at his newly purchased house. The seemingly endless expanse of his room slowly encroaching on him from all sides. Perhaps it could be said that what he felt was loneliness. Perhaps it was fear. James enjoyed the dark, however. The cold quiet that came with being alone was one that was mildly comforting to him... but also disconcerting. James was indeed a human, and Men's hearts often long for companionship, however, James' heart was want of no such thing. Such feelings that accompany companionship were beneath him. However, he still found himself quickly reacting to the vibration spreading rapidly throughout his thick sheets. His cell phone was going off. James, lifting his upper body off of his plush and rather warm blankets, leaned over to see what the commotion could possibly be. As he rose, a rush of cool air brushed past his face and down his neck, sending a shiver down his spine. Looking then to his screen he could see the name of one of his more recent companions. Lydia Venes. The girl with the purple hair and snarky attitude. Perhaps it was better he ignore this one. Though, his curiosity inevitably would get the better of him, so in the effort of saving himself the precious time, he unlocked his phone, and peered at the blinding light.
"hey james, I need ur help with the thing... plz halp?"
James sighed, and closed his eyes. Definitely not something he needed to worry about. Laying back into bed, he-- his phone buzzed yet again. Another text. Unlocking his phone yet again, he looked at the screen blindly, until the colors swirled into focus.
"of course, if u dun wanna i understand... i'll just be here alone... working... without any help..." James rolled over, and continued his course. At the moment, his bed was calling him and--
apparently his bed wasn't the only thing calling him, as his phone now chimed loudly. Glaring almost angrily at the phone, he saw the name Lydia Venes displayed on the screen. He was hesitant, if somewhat loathsome to answer, but what must be done must be done. He couldn't have her going off to pursue some new project because the one she was on was too difficult for her alone. Picking up the phone, the girl's smooth, mid-toned voice came in nearly immediately.
"So, I know it's like, really late and stuff," She said, clearly about to continue the sentence with something along the lines of 'but I need you to come over'.
"But I really need you to come help me, James." Sighing to offset the laughter he almost let off at the girl's incompetent predictability, James responded rather sluggishly to her question.
"I... ugh, give me a minute to get ready."
She giggled, which to James sounded like a dying horse, but that may just be due to his frustration at being denied sleep. This was the cost of getting shit done. Hanging up the phone, James slowly clothed himself (OOC: As he sleeps in just his boxers and a robe like a G) and prepared for the journey ahead.
This hair just won't quit growing... he thought, staring at his currently shoulder length white locks. No need to cut it, as it was too short still. Perhaps he would just style it better, so that later on he could deal with all the aesthetic stuff. For now, focusing on getting to Lydia's was his first priority.

Lydia turned over in her bed, and hung up her phone. Looking at the time, she had all of 20 minutes before he got here. Looking at the state of her room, however, 20 minutes may not be enough. The papers were sprawled haphazardly across her bed and she had several varying articles of clothing laying across her floor, effectively making the room appear almost impressively cluttered. Shit. she thought, quickly trying to figure a way to clean and organize this pile of filth. Starting almost instinctively with the papers, she quickly grabbed them all and put them into a loose stack in her hands. Then, walking calmly over to her desk- possibly the only neat thing in the room- she tapped the papers into a neater more refined stack. Placing them at the center of the desk, she noticed that her bed needed more refining.
And by "refining" she meant it needed to be entirely remade. It looked as though a four year old decided to wrestle with prison inmate, it was so tossed about. Trying her best to swiftly press the sheet onto the bed properly, she noticed a pair of panties hanging from the ceiling fan. The ceiling fan. This girl was messy. In fact, she couldn't even remember how that happened. After neatly making her bed, she ran downstairs, all the way to the kitchen, and grabbed the broom. Now sprinting back to her room, she threw the broomstick like a javelin at the panties, almost with insane accuracy knocking them from the fan. Scooping them, and her other lingering clothing items from the floor, she threw them all quickly into the closet. Hearing the doorbell ring, it seemed she had run out of time. Running downstairs yet again and to the door, she opened it, completely forgetting that she was barely wearing any clothing. Her face changed into a deep shade of red. James looked down at her and sighed.
"Is this why you called me here?" He asked. She could never really tell whether he was joking... But in keeping with tradition, she offered him tea.
"J-J-James, would you l-like some tea? I can g-go make some if you like..." She felt her face turning redder. Great. Now it looked like she was seducing him.
"No thanks, as usual Liddi. Now shall we get to work?" Lydia covered her bare stomach and thighs with her two hands, and nodded to the man. Backing away toward her room, she quickly locked the door, leaving James outside waiting. That should buy her time to change, and finish cleaning.
