Reiko crossed her arms, swearing to never come to town by herself again. Now she was being interrogated by some…dude. Some dude who was creepily disturbing. She felt the heaviness of his spiritual pressure weighing down all around her, saw the people’s chests heaving as they were forced to their knees, heard the words that came out of Matthew’s mouth. Her green eyes flashed dangerously although her expression didn’t change one bit. She spoke calmly, her voice lowered almost to the point in inaudibility. She would handle this situation calmly. Panicking never did anyone any good.

”The laws of man? Men have no laws to live by besides the ones they chose to create. They can choose to follow the law or to go against it, but either way, there’ll be consequences. Believe me, I know that full well. I jus’ know where my limits are too. Ya can’t control everything.” After all, she’d been turned into a monster, at least in the Soul Society’s eyes, by circumstances she hadn’t foreseen and couldn’t control. She knew that she was much happier away from the people that had exiled her and had no wish to return.

Reiko gestured around her at the mass of people, some rushing away and some unable to get to their feet. She felt bad for them, felt that she needed to help, but for now, she would be still. At least then, she could stay alive to help them. ”If you were to kill everyone here, well, that’d be bothersome. More cleaning up for me.” She laughed. ”But that’d be alright in yer eyes, no doubt, cause that’s true freedom to you.” She stood slowly, left hand now resting lightly on the hilt of the tanto strapped to her thigh, but she didn’t move from her spot. ”Me, I don’t like it so much. It’s not true freedom to me. I said b’fore that I’m no fighter. I’m not after more power, ‘cause I know it doesn’t make me happier. I ain’t you.” She shrugged. ”Each to his own, I guess. But I’ll tell ya now that I’m too lazy to clean up any dead bodies ‘round here, so there better not be any.” Reiko wasn’t ready to fight and she certainly didn’t want to; she knew she would most definitely lose, but at least, she could heal. She could try to protect. All around her the people fell.

An amused female voice resounded inside her head. ”They’re hurting, Reiko. What’cha going to do?”

Reiko shook her head and thought back to it. ”I know. Just wait.”

So she does get it after all, but there was something still off. The girl felt it was her responsibility to clean up a dead body that isn't really relevant to her whatsoever. What was the meaning for this? Matthew continued to let his power leak all over the place as the power alone caused so much discomfort and suffering in the nearby radius. Finally, the eclipse was complete, and covering the sun was now a Moon that was a shade of red. This was known as the Blood Moon, and one of Matthew's signature techniques. Matthew looked around a little as his expression went from meniacle to stern. His focus was dire as he watched people run from the area and squirm all around him. He finally came to the realization that it was a little messy afterall.

Matthew let out a little sigh as his power was conciled and he sat back down. His right hand made a fist as it met his chin and he looked over to the girl. She was standing quite firm and her stance seemed to present a little resiliance to it. Seems she was expecting him to attack her...

"Please, calm down. I don't wish to hurt you, I just wish to conversate..."

Finally people were able to breath and they all ran. A few people noticed how Matthew and Reiko were the only ones breathing just fine and suspected them to be the cause of the odd amonoly. Matthew didn't care really, he's done his fair share of damage and whatnot, so for someone to get his picture again didn't matter.

Matthew grabbed his coffee and took another sip, and as he did, his left eye twitched a little. His coffee was cold...

"Excuse me, can I get... Oh..."

Matthew called for service, but it seems everyone ran become of what he did. Matthew let out a little sigh again and smirked.

"Can't get any good service anywhere eh? Well lets take this discussion somewhere a tad more appropriate."

Matthew then with his left hand lited it up as under the eclipse, the shadows of the area engulfed both him and Reiko and they disappeared from the cafe and were both teleported.

Literally in an instant, the shadows and the darkness disappeared as Matthew was now standing at the edge of a rooftop of a building in Karakura, and Reiko was right behind him. Matthew was looking up at the Blood Moon with an emotionless appearance about him. His mind was going left and right at the moment as he had something on his mind...

"You know, something big is coming. It is beyond both of us, and our futures depend on that very anology. What is true freedom. If you are willing to rid yourself any form of conscious and make your own rules in this reality, apart for society, you will travel far. I can see you made your own personal rules after you became a vizard, seeing as they still are banned from Soul Society..."

He paused for a second and then turned to look at the girl. The angle in which he stood made the Blood Moon right behind him, as he appeared stern...

"But personal rules aren't enough. You need to be able to decide your path beyond the Laws of Society, into the Laws of Man. If you can do that, true freedom will arise, and when displayed in front of a being of real power, you might not only make a good front, but you'll live or die knowing you made the right or wrong choice..."

Reiko’s hand tightened on the hilt of her zanpakutou. This was getting a bit too far, wasn’t it? Any longer and she would have to do something…A vein pulsed in her temple, and her inner hollow called out to her, a voice mixed with that of Shirohebi’s. She tried to put them away, but they persisted, getting louder, more concerned. Just as she was about to release her shikai and start working on some of these people, Matthew’s reiatsu died down a little, and the man sat down. Reiko regarded him with a look of indifference and slowly dropped her hand to her side. As long as nobody was in dire need of medical help, she wouldn’t do anything.

She lifted her head and watched the sky as it sank into darkness, and the shadows covered their two figures. Then, she was on a rooftop, illuminated by an eerily crimson light. She followed Matthew’s glance to look at the moon. It loomed over them, larger and more imminent than before. After some time, Matthew began speaking again, and she reluctantly turned to listen. This guy had brought her nothing but trouble today.

After he had finished, Reiko sighed. ”Ah damn, ya made me leave my banana bread behind! I wasn’t done with that, y’know?” She grinned, but her smile soon faded, and she shook her head, seemingly amused. ”Jeez, I still dunno what yer try’na do. But I guess I’ll just play along. I said before, I think true freedom’s different for everyone. For you, it might be this insane crazy power or whatever. I dunno what goes on inside yer head. But for me, I’m not after power. Ya see, I like seeing people smile, helping people to live so that they can smile. I like smiling too. So that’s true freedom for me, I guess. I’d love to die happy, but believe me, I don’t care much about makin’ a good front in battle.” Reiko smirked. She didn’t care much about impressing the enemy or displaying all her glory. Whatever it took her to finish it off, she did it, even if it was so-called “unfair.”

”But do tell, Matthew. Why ya so intent on this whole true freedom thing? I’m a curious creature, y’know?”

Power?

Was power all she thought this little conversation was about? Fighting? And what was with this seeing people happy business? This Vizard obviuosly wasn't grasping the sole purplse of this little chit chat. Matthew was not really pleased as he thought that this one would be bright enough to understand the true deffinition of Destiny, instead of this cliche form of fate that every being must obey that is known as the "Rules of Existence". A pop could be heard from his left shoulder as he turned his neck to the right and poped his shoulder joint into place with his neck as well. He then looked back down on this girl, as his eyes began to light up as red as the moon. The darkness of the area really kept the errie aura of the atmosphere and he just looked stern...

"Do you believe that this is just about fighting? If so, you fail to grasp my point..."

Matthew then hoped down from the ledge and reached into his pocket grabbing another cigarette and lighting it with his lighter in one swing. A slow and long inhale followed as he then removed the cigarette from his mouth and exhaled. His eyes closed as he just let out another long exhale.

Now she was of course entitled to wonder why Matthew chose this individual. There are millions of people around, and for him to pick her, there must be a reason...

"And the reason we are having this little chat is because you are a select individual that will face this course of action..."

Matthew then decided that this should be good enough. He's given her enough information and a good display of things that should allow her to see full grasp of two sides of the vail, instead of a "Glorious" one, and a "Dispiseful" one. Matthew then took another puff from his cigarette as he knew that this wonderful discussion would have to come to a close...

He needed to get home to his girl afterall...

"Listen, take with you what you choose from out discussion. Just know that maybe, darkness isn't evil, and light isn't always good. And remember..."

That was when the Moon began to move from the suns very stance. A bright light began to take the light in once again, and the blood red aura was beginning to face. As the light reached Matthew, he began to disappear as the light touched his very being...

"What you choose, will define your very destiny..."

And at that, the mysterious Matthew Hinote disappeared into the daylight, out of complete vision, sensing, and any other sense. He had accomplished his goal, but what was his goal? To twist the mind of this individual? Was it to perhaps inform her of a great problem on it's way? Or was it to open her mind to endless possibilities down the road?

That, was her decision...
