Lydia (Eva) Venes [READY TO GRADE]
Mon Jan 19, 2015 10:12 am
____________________________________________________
» Name: Lydia Venes
» Titles: Liddi-- although she doesn't use that anymore.
» Race: Human
» Age: She's 18.
» Gender: Female
» Affiliation/Rank: Yayjuu GREMLIN Overwatch
» Appearance Written: Her purple hair falls sharply onto her perpetually serious face. Her eyes, normally a shade of sky blue fit delightfully against her fair-colored skin. Her lips are a strangely light shade of pink, considering that her face seems to beckon for darker shades, almost as if it knows how serious it is. Her slender figure portrays her energetic tendency. C-C-C-C-CUP, Sorry, had to.(Side note, the picture doesn't have blue eyes, but yeah, the character does.)
» Appearance Picture:
- Spoiler:

» Personality:
Lively and Energetic: This is not to be confused with easily excited. Lydia herself is simply naturally full of life and energy due to her constant physical training, and endurance runs. She has a strict diet to maintain her health, and will not break it for gold nor glory. She actually has an aura of energy that is given off when she gets pumped.
Diligent: Lydia works very hard when she puts her mind to it, exhausting all that energy toward a good use. She will not rest until her task is completed. Sometimes, she quite literally will not sleep until she completes a task. She makes sure to put all her effort into her projects, and doesn’t care about the price if it advances her knowledge. (She only amputated her own arm just to show that her theory on brain waves and electrical pulses was correct. Just that.)
Careful: She will not allow failure. She will cover all exits and burn down the building so to speak. And that’s only after she’s shot her target into oblivion. All a figure of speech, but she doesn’t take chances. One thing she’s sure makes her better than James. She has an incredibly still hand, and takes her time mulling over finer details, if it means that much more efficiency.
Insecure: She’s felt looked down upon all her life because of her weight, intelligence, and power. She always feels weak, so she’s always training to compensate. She doesn’t want to be looked down upon because she’s overweight, so she always makes sure to stay slim, and even keeps a strict diet. Lastly, she’s always heavily insecure about her intellect, especially after the events of her childhood, where she was judged based on her ability to see spirits, which was sealed away by the trauma of losing her parents (whom turned into hollows right before her eyes, and were promptly slain by passing shinigami). This was added to, by being deceived so easily by James.

» History:
- All Good Things:
Lydia was orphaned at a young age, and found herself in the care of the Venes family early on. Because of this, she grew strongly attached to her new mother and father. Her adopted mother, Sara Venes kept her pampered and well kept. Sara was infertile, and thus, pleaded with her husband to adopt. Regardless of their reasoning, Sara loved Lydia, and always took the best care of her, as though she were her blood child.
Her husband, Quinten Venes gave her anything she asked of him. Lydia had felt this was her home. Or perhaps that whatever home she had before was irrelevant now that she had them. But as with all good things, her parent’s lives came to an end. Lydia, having been in middle school at the time, had lost her ability to see spirits, which was the only thing that kept her grades high in the very unfairly apportioned school system of her area. Her grades slipped, and with them her popularity. She at first was teased for her failure, but then outright bullied. The students, people she had called her friends once, all one by one turned against her.
Lydia turned to her adopted cousin Jessica for help, as she had no more family to turn to. Jessica decided to let her stay at her home, and even withdrew her from the school as her new legal guardian. But the words of her ex-friends still stuck hard in her mind. Calling her stupid, or fat, or saying she’d never be able to do anything. Lydia worked out daily at Jessica’s mansion, running daily around the grounds and doing anything she could to slim down and strengthen up. Eventually, exercising became a habit for her, as she never wanted to hear such hurtful words again. Again, however, despite Lydia finally settling into her new home, all good things must come to an end. Jessica had fallen in love with a man in Mongolia, and decided to move to go live with him. Though, she left the mansion in Lydia’s care, and paid the bills for it and everything.
Lydia was happy. For the first in a while, she was happy. But wanted more. She hated being unable to learn. She hated being cut off from her studies. Driving to the library to check out some files on spirits and energy signatures, she was perhaps a bit too hasty, or too careless. She crashed and spun off the road and her car flipped over, breaking her collarbone. She was brought to the hospital to be operated on by state-of-the-art surgery machines. What began by tinkering around in the hospital on cybernetic machines, grew into a strong fascination with them.
When she was finally discharged, she went to the library, but this time her focus was on Cybernetics. She became extremely well versed in them, and even applied to a technical school at age 14.The school had seen her skill in cybernetics theory and accepted her, even knowing that she was indeed still a child. For her very first project, she designed a robotic arm that followed the commands of the users brain by translating brain waves and slight muscle movements into electrical pulse commands. She then had her own arm amputated simply to demonstrate whether it worked or not. She’s had a bionic arm since then. Lydia was top of her class by 15, and reveled in the glory of finally being better than everyone else. Here, she was strong. Here, she was the smartest. Not cruelly graded by powers she did not possess.
When she turned 16 (In April), her professor provided her an internship with the now disbanded Force Feedback, where she worked as a technical advisor under the Deputy Director of the Bureau of Technology, a man named James Caldwell. James was only 18, two years older than her, but he exuded an aura of confidence in his research that she appreciated. She and James were off to a somewhat awkward start, one which included a lot of blushing on her part, but perhaps it would be better left unexplained that he, like a character in an ecchi anime, immediately began sizing her up. But it would be better left unexplained. She and James, despite their awkward start, actually hit it off quite well. He was always kind to her, and always helping her with her research. They talked after work on the way to her mansion about up and coming technologies, and new theories in cybernetics and such.
She was always astonished to hear his surprisingly nonchalant responses to questions whose answers had vast implications in the practical field. She used one of his responses with regards to Energy Manipulation and Effective Apportionment to formulate a Theory of Energy. It was rough around the edges, but she hoped to show it to James eventually. One day, they worked so late, that they ended up having to relocate to her mansion, where she had her many sheets of paper drawn up in an untidy manner. James, noticing the sheets began to review her theory, much to her dismay, as it was not adequately organized or completed. James laughed at her research, stating that it was “good stuff” but needed work. So naturally, when he offered to help her with her research, it couldn’t be helped that it would be done at her mansion, no?
Every day, after a long day at work, James came to her mansion to help her with the theory. Every day, she opened that door with a smile, and offered him tea, to which he always refused, saying "No, thanks Liddi" with a mixture of sadness and disgust on his face. It was quite mysterious to her, but she became intrigued by it. Finally, after about 6 months, on November 5th, the theory was complete. And with the completion of the theory, Lydia felt that her feelings for James were quite complete as well. When he met with her the next day, after she messaged him that the theory was finally complete, he came in silently, looked over all the pages, and turned to her. Now was her chance. She couldn't keep her feelings in any longer. She looked him dead in his silver eyes that quite reminded her of a pool of mercury. She opened her mouth to speak.
“James, I wanted to tell you something.” He smiled at her, and questioned “What might that be?”.
She looked even further into his eyes, getting lost in them. “I lo--” He put a finger over her mouth.
“You were a fool to have fallen for such a simple ruse. That stupidity of yours will be your end.”
Lydia stood in shock. Perhaps he had said something different than what she heard?
“If you went and fell in love with me, then I suppose that’s just too bad. I see you with no more regard than a fly.” He smiled then, and her stomach turned. Had she been betrayed?
“And a rather large fly. You’re a bigger pest than I’d imagined. Flying about in front of my face so that I cannot ignore you, until finally, and this part happens now, you get squashed.”
Hot tears blazed their way down her face. She’d trusted him. She... She loved him... was that all a lie? Was everything all a lie?
“Don’t worry about the theory. I’ve downloaded it to my contacts earlier, and it’s now on my home server, ready for revision. You however,” He said, and just then, she felt paralyzed where she stood. “Won’t be so lucky.” James turned and walked straight through the front door, and as he exited, he whispered something under his breath.
The theory papers all lit ablaze at once, and the house ignited around her. Smoke, tears, flame, all things abundant in the area she was trapped in. If only she had been smarter! If only she had been stronger! She would die here, all because of him! It was all because of him! Her tears fell stronger as she felt the emotional stress building up inside her. She wanted to scream. To cry her very spirit out. She let out a soul-piercing wail, screaming at the top of her lungs in all her despair. Just then, she heard a voice call out to her, but from within. Do you want power? The power to crush all who oppose you? She did not halt her screaming. The flames closed around her. Yes. Yes. She wanted the power to destroy him. She wanted vengeance on him for taking advantage of her. She didn’t want to die here. “Yes.” She quietly responded. Her mind was cleaved in two, part of her wishing to merely survive, and the other to destroy James. To exact revenge. Her mind was rent in two. Her spirit divided, yet still whole. She had been born anew. Help me, Eva. She didn’t know how she knew it’s name, but she was merely relieved that she came when she did. The flames around her halted. Her anima stone returned to her! She only had enough power at the moment to stop the flames around her, but she still managed to break the paralysis on her by James’ energy-based magic. Stumbling out of the flaming mansion, she fell onto the lawn, and fell unconscious. All good things must come to an end.
She awoke the next day in the hospital. If they examined her spiritual vitals, they’d find out about her. About what she was. Eva took over her body and leapt clear out of the window, mutating her legs into something like spikes. She dug into the ground below. Catching her breath, Eva ran from the hospital. She couldn’t let herself be discovered. Regardless of how she felt, she was now a Ziamichi. Eva ran as quickly as she could to the nearest Yayjuu headquarters, where she then plopped down in the front couch as if a soldier finally returning home. Lydia quickly regained her control, and managed to explain her story to these people. She had no home, no theory, and now, no companions. She had no-one but Eva, and at least now (Thanks to Eva), she had a new home.
Lydia quickly impressed them with her technical knowledge, though, compared to someone they called “Shadin”, they were lacking. They admitted her to GREMLIN squad, where she sharpened her strategic and tactical skills by performing Overwatch missions. All practice missions, of course.

» Racial Powers:
Internal Anima Stone: Lydia unlocked her Anima stone, and thus regained her ability to see spirits, though she isn’t very proficient in magic, she can sometimes use up to beginner level spells, as per the universal anima sorcery guidelines. Along with this, she has strong control over elements related to energy, and is thus able to fire simple energy blasts equivalent to a bala from a low level arrancar (Or just a 4 tier whichever is weaker) at a high cost to her physical energy when being used. (Gonna make a gun that helps with lowering the danger of firing energy blasts,)
- Spoiler:
according to her theory, which she memorized-- but that’s a spoiler xD
» Evolution Powers: Seeing spirits-- finally.
Energy Manipulation: On minor levels. creating or dispelling beams, orbs, or pellets of energy equivalent to a 4 tier energy blast. Simple fire starting and dispelling. Again, at a high cost in energy/fatigue. You read the history xD You know how it works :/

» The Spirit's Name: Eva. Just Eva.
» The Spirit's Race: Human in a sense. More like, an outline for a spirit that was being destroyed-- Kinda like a bundle of energy but with a form? She was being eaten by a demon and so has parts of it corrupting her energy, and thus Lydia’s.
» The Spirit's Gender: Female
» The Spirit's Age: 28.
» The Spirit's Written Appearance: Black Hair. It’s long. She has a hair band. She wears black, white, and grey, particularly because it originally took too much energy to maintain colors inside Lydia’s spirit. Now she just likes it. She always has a type of gun in her general area. Despite what it looks like in the picture below, she is missing her left arm.
» The Spirit's Pictured Appearance:
- Spoiler:
____________________________________________________
» The Spirit's Personality:
Blunt: Eva will always tell you like it is. In fact, this probably stems from the strong inner confidence she displays in her own ability.
Not-so-strategic: Unless you count rushing to overcome the enemy as a strategy.
Ironically, Prideful: See above. She really thinks she’s the best there is. Or perhaps it’s because she knows she’ll get there? At any rate, it’s all the same to her. She’s so confident in her ability, it can sometimes be painful to watch her making plans that will seriously never work. Seriously, she should probably be glad she met Lydia. I, as the creator, am not even sure how she survived in the first place.
Consumed Entirely by the Goal: She sees Lydia as having saved her, so naturally, if she were to see James, she’d probably expend all of her and Lydia’s energy to kill him. Not something to be laughed at, see Reticent below.
Possessed by a Will to Live: She’ll do anything to survive, even if it means jumping into a dying person’s body to do it, or throwing them aside... Though, this isn’t exactly cemented, as, the more she learns about Lydia is the less she wants to leave.
Reticent: Eva never displays her true feelings, or rather, her true thoughts. Sure she’ll be straightforward, but that usually only serves to make her look stupid. Deeper down, she’s much craftier than she appears. Perhaps much stronger...Scared to death of Demons: Self-explanatory. She’s really fucking terrified of demons, seeing as the only one she had the misfortune of meeting tried to obliterate her very soul.
- Spoiler:
But in the case that she were stronger than she shows here, I’ll plop that into the app for approval first, instead of just LOLGODMODing it.

» The Spirit's History:
- She a Mess:
Eva Serocanthe was a human woman with a strong power of mutation/transfiguration, and a bit of a drinking problem. She could change her own gene code to make herself look like others, augment her strength or defensive skills, or even cause mutations in others. One day, late on the 5th of November 2413, she picked a fight with the wrong guy. She, being too prideful to withdraw from a challenge, was quickly burned to a crisp, forcing her spirit to leave her body in a mass of flames. She wandered aimlessly for the entire next day, with an ominous feeling looming over her. She found a mansion on a hill the evening of the next day, and started walking toward it. A chill went down her spine. As she slowly turned around, the hulking figure of a demon could be seen behind her. She ran as quickly as she could to the mansion. It was her only hope of survival, as she clearly couldn’t fight that... thing. Approaching the door of the mansion, she was pounced on by the demon, now fully caught up to her. Half screaming, half crying, she pounded aimlessly at the beast. Somehow, by some crazy fucking luck, she managed to escape with only her left arm ripped off by the beast. She ran through the front door of the mansion, as a boy passed her by, smirking... the house caught ablaze from within, and loud screaming could be heard. Did he do that? No use worrying now... She darted through the halls toward it, perhaps whoever it was could help her. She saw a girl, whose spirit looked a tad... small. Almost like there was room enough to squeeze in! She ran for the girl, and put her foot in the door, so to speak. She had a flash, and saw what the girl wanted most. Power. Power for revenge. She could give that. She could give that if it meant her life would be saved. Do you want power? The power to crush all who oppose you? All was silent within her mind, but her screams never stopped... This girl was in pain. Help me, Eva This girl knew her name? How much did she know about her? Was Eva drawn here? Was this fate? All questions that rung in her mind. Questions, that she would soon find the answer to. But for now, her powers had a block on them. There would be no way that she could escape alive without them. She broke the barrier surrounding the stone, and the flames around her halted. At this rate, there would only be enough energy to escape, not to save the house. The girl crashed around a bit, barely managing to keep the flames off of her, and landed outside. Landed rather unconscious. The demon was gone. Now was her chance to escape! She tried her hardest to peel herself out of the body, but couldn’t. Every time she tried, it seemed to drag the girl with her, and her soul was quite rooted to her body. ... Perhaps I should have thought this one through... Well, at any rate, the girls body was full of energy for the siphoning. Perhaps if she regained her full energy, she could escape! She stole the energy left over from the girl, and saved enough for her to stay alive. Taking over, she stood to her feet, extremely fatigued, and walked the girl to the nearest hospital. She may have died because of her stupidity, but she wouldn't let an innocent girl follow suit for the same reason. She slept in the hospital bed that night and woke only when the Lydia did. If they check our spiritual vitals, they'll know what we are! Shit! Eva hadn't thought that far ahead! Immediately, she assumed control, and hopped clean out of the window on the side. I hope this still works... Eva thought hard in that instant about her legs materializing as spears. The bones in the girls feet crackled, and her legs quickly formed into the shape as they fell. she reinforced the remainder of her leg to absorb the shock. Landing hard, her spiked feet landed straight into the ground. Digging herself out, she ran to the nearest Yayjuu outpost. She’d only heard stories about them up til this point, but they were her only hope at escaping. When she got there, she plopped down in the seat in the lobby like she owned the place. She was exhausted.

» Ziamichi Spirit Powers:
Internal Mutation: Eva can mutate all of Lydia’s body parts, save for her left arm, which was torn off by a demon (whereas Lydia’s was amputated). She can turn her limbs into any shape, or reinforce them to any strength up until steel and because of this, can fight on par with an average shinigami (no release). That’s just her average combat mode. She can slim her body and mutate her muscles to speed herself up, or mutate to disguise herself as any other person, with the only telling factor being her mechanical arm. Her strength naturally is equivalent to Lydia’s which is already far above the average human’s. She shares Lydia’s quick reflexes in combat, but not much else. Drawbacks: She’s fucking stupid, and often rushes ahead in battle like a certain Mr. Jenkins. She can maintain her mutated states for varying periods of time.
Those dealing with appearance- 8 to 10 posts before she starts feeling fatigued and must rest. Anyone with the ability to recognize spiritual signatures once seeing her (In her real form clearly) can match the two together.
Those dealing with strength augmentation- Since anything Eva mutates comes from Lydia’s body, in order to beef up one area, she must weaken another by pulling the cells from it. 3-4 posts. Her strength augmentation increases her speed level or strength by half a tier (Or one skill level, whichever is stronger) for the duration of the aforementioned period.
External Mutation: She can mutate others by firing off spores. If the victim gets hit in the face with one of these pellets, they will have one of a growing number of debuffs (if you mind my gaming terminology) These pellets are essentially made from Lydia’s blood, which Eva mutates as such, so the consequences for prolonged use are evident. (Though, because of this, Lydia is likely to draw blood before combat and load it into her arm which I plan to upgrade first order of business) The current, and only mutation she possesses is the ability to slow others down by pooling their energy to weigh them down. Their speed slows by around 50%. They must breathe in the spore for it to take effect. The spores are released at around 120 mph.
____________________________________________________
» Unique Traits:
Attention to Detail: Due to Eva’s secretive nature, Lydia gains the power to spot other shifters/ people in other forms than their own.
Hyperstrategic mind: Often Lydia is thrust into missions that force her to think strategically, and thus, she is capable of making decisions that develop into full blown strategies in a split second, well, the decisions anyway.
» Forms: None, hilariously, Eva already has control over her body whenever she likes. The goal here is instead to get them to cooperate.
» Drawbacks: They ain’t that far yet.
» Control: 2-- Ahem, “Lool”.
