Zombie Massacre[Zombie Burst Mission]
Mon Jun 30, 2014 2:32 pm
On a roof overlooking a street, someone was sleeping on the roof of a house. Invisible to some people, the one known as Varas Giorio was sleeping. Soon his sleep would be interrupted by something or someones. Screams were heard, bloodcurdling screams. Screams that could melt the souls of those that heard them. Varas opened one of his emerald eyes to spy people attacking other people. Shrugging he did not think much of it, until he noticed that the people attacking the others were rotted away, like corpses. Standing, the arrancar groaned like he could not have a peaceful day in the human world.
Tap, tap, tap could be heard as he walked to the edge of the roof. Calmness, entered his mind as he watched for a couple seconds before aiming his arm at the hoard. A pulse of energy could be felt as the arrancar charged up his reishi. Light starts to shine in the palm of his hand. The glow turns brighter and brighter as it grows bigger and bigger. The light appeared to be a ball that the arrancar was holding in his hand. The ball appeared to be white with green outlines, a sign that he was using his own reishi to create this.
The arrancar scowled to him self as the wind picked up waving his long raven black hair with the breeze. The white jacket adorning his torso was waving in the wind as well. Once the ball had reached critical mass, he twitched his fingers firing a fearsome technique known by most people as a Cero, at the hoard of zombies that was advancing upon the city. The beam of pure destruction approached the hoard to destroy a large part of it.
The arrancar still remained calm throughout his focused assault upon the hoard. He knew one thing however, he was going to need help in defeating this hoard.

Fighting a hoard of zombies is not something Anzu Oshiro would consider fun, nor could she ever imagine that she would find herself in such a situation. But of course, fate had a sick sense of humor and had decided to throw the life of the lethargic child into disarray. She didn’t know how bored whatever entity that had brought this phenomenon upon Saburo City was, but conjuring up zombies to quench it wasn’t the way to go. Especially when said creatures threw the entire city into a panic, enough for those outside of it to be thrown into the fray. She, personally, had not received any information from any of the networks settled within Karakura, but Seika must have because said woman had been the one to deploy her into Saburo City, specifically the ‘Burb’, with the single order to take care of the problem within the area.
Anzu had thought the problem would be hollows or some weak demons, zombies had never crossed her mind. And if she was the sort of person to use foul language, well she would had definitely had a few choice words for her caretaker. But at the moment that didn’t matter now, since she was already there she may as well proceed with Seika’s orders. Even though the woman knew that she was the sort of person to allow problems to resolve themselves. Heck, the only reason she wasn’t going to allow the problem to resolve itself without outside interference was because Seika had promised to allow her a week away from school. A week she would spend sleeping.
She sighed deeply, closing her eyes as she inhaled the foul smell of rotting corpses, preparing herself to rid the Burbs of the problem as soon as possible and with as little effort as possible. Her eyes snapped open, narrowing as she could see something in the distant that wasn’t a zombie. “Seika hadn’t told me there would be someone else,” she muttered, though Seika hadn’t told her much. Anzu sighed, stepping off her perch on top of a random building, and teleporting herself to the location of who ever had fired the attack upon the hoard of zombies.
She appeared behind him, yawning to give away her presence. “That’s quite impressive.”

Sensing the arrival of the woman, the arrancar turns around and looks her up and down, looking bored. "Make yourself useful and start blasting the buggers." Varas turns back around while unsheathing his Zanpakutō. He points it in front of himself before rubbing it from the tip to the base. "Fly, Pegaso!" Barely a whisper comes out of his mouth. A huge power surges out of the arrancar.
His mask breaks off of his head, leaving it mostly bare. A headband made out of bone covers his head now. His clothes explode off of him due to the amount of power he's releasing. Tight bone armor forms upon his slim yet muscular body. Wings form on his back, signalling that this arrancar can fly if he chooses to do so. Spikes grow upon his knuckles. The transformation is complete.
Varas yawns before shooting into the sky being faster now that he had released his resuraccion. He shoots up over the hoard while aiming his hands at the ground. Power surges through his body, he is gathering his reishi for a powerful cero.
He has a cruel scowl upon his face. Twin orbs appear in his palms. They grow larger and larger with each passing second. Reaching critical mass within 3 seconds, Varas fires the twin cero at the ground. He sustains the cero for a couple seconds each. He spins while launching them making them spiral outwards. At the end of this fearsome attack, a large chunk of the hoard has been destroyed.

Anzu yawned upon hearing the words of the male, who by the way hadn't really bothered to introduce himself though such a thing didn't really bother her. There was a very small chance that the two individuals would run into one another after this particular battle was over, and thus getting to know one another, or at least one another's name, would be a waste of time. Especially when the horde of dead, rotting corpses didn't look like they would be stopping and waiting for the two quite alive individuals to exchange pleasantries.
She yawned again, watching as the male went back to taking care of the dead that had every intentions of overrunning the city and inducting many more into their ranks. She didn't seem like she would jumping in to help anytime soon, for in her opinion the man was doing a fine job without her assistance and she was never the kind of person to turn down an opportunity to be, well, lazy. Thus she decided to stay put, keeping an eye on the male as well as witnessing his spectacular display of power. She could only assume that the attack he used on the horde had been the same one to have caught her attention.
Now that Anzu was closer, the attack didn't seem as impressive as it had from far off, but that was of no matter since it did a fine job of destroying a large portion of the zombie horde. She sighed softly, closing her eyes as she ran her fingers through her hair. “It doesn't really look like you need my help for you are doing a fine job on your own,” she said, eyes reopening. “But, I desire to speed things up.” And as those words left her mouth, she used the power she was quite fond of to teleport a good deal of zombies from the area. Where they ended up, she really couldn't bring herself to care. “Let us make this fast, I have sleep to catch up on.”

Song: Throwdown --- By: Fox Stevenson --- Word Count: 755
BOOM.
Out of nowhere, space at least a dozen metres off the ground opened, and from it, a burst of dimensional energy shot down, grazing whatever was below it. "HOLY SHIT!" From the same rip in space fell a boy, cloaked in black from head to toe--though, he didn't really look like a boy. Rather, quite an attractive girl, but that's besides the point. Dropping from a height of several metres, the boy landed gracefully, feet first and face.... surprised?
"It'll be a while before I try that again," he remarked, patting his shoulders as if to clear himself of dirt and dust--though, none was present. "SO! What do we have here?" Looking around the landscape, the boy took notice to a rather plentiful amount of people, though, their energy signatures were pretty weird. And, in fact, it wasn't just a plentiful amount! The reishi displacement in the air would tell the boy that there were at the least several hundreds of people! "A bigger crowd than I thought," he said, looking around and sustaining the surprised face he held a few moments earlier. This face was even moreso noticeable when he looked on the ground he landed, a few dismembered and torn apart bodies lying there. Quickly reacting, he gasped and held his hand to his mouth, making the following seem overly-dramatic. "Whoops."
But, for some reason, it felt just. Like, doing so was a good task, worthy of a protagonist. So, if that was the case, who were these people? That was when the boy took notice to two other energy signatures, different from the masses of people that seemed to be connected somehow, as their similar energies would signify. Off in the distance, a beam of light shot down from up above, seemingly originating from a person. Feeling that the energy was reminiscent of Hueco Mundo, he had assumed the beam of light was something along the lines of a cero, and the being--well, clearly it was an arrancar. "Heh.. An arrancar, eh." His tone hinted indifference to what would seem to be an arrancar, with a bit of animosity and interest mixed in, somewhat counterbalancing each other. "Well then, who's the other one?"
Closing his eyes, the boy focused on the reishi throughout the air, taking notice to any slight displacements or the lack of it. From it, he would be able to take notice to any contours and small details which kept the reishi from existing in that space. As a result, he could essentially see the shapes of everything down to a minuscule level, allowing him to take notice even to the pours on one's skin--and from this, he would see a young girl, seemingly younger than himself. Actually, she looked really young! What was she doing out here, near an arrancar blasting hoards of people?
Speaking of the hoards of people... "Kururai, stay weary. These people don't seem to be... 'aware'. Like their lifeless." Bouncing around the walls of his mind echoed the vibrant and multi-pitched voice of an entire dimension's conscience, the Nether. "What do you mean lifeless?" Questioned Kururai Osamerukami, the apparent name of the boy. "They're similar to hollows. Blank minds only set on feeding--as it seems."
"Like hollows?" His voice shook as if in excitement. From his mouth poked out a pink tongue, glazing over his soft shining lips. Kururai, who had been intent on growing stronger and evolving as a hollow, by eating other hollows, felt drawn in to the zombie masses, feeling strength to be nearly within reach; and from this feeling, Dimensional Energy seemed to leak like crazy from his body, enough to make him glow an indigo hue.
"I see."
In a burst of movement, the indigo tint around his body disappeared, focusing and blasting out from his feet, a trick he used in a previous fight against hollows to bolster his speed efficiently and quickly. In this moment, gliding a few inches off the ground in a burst of speed, Kururai would begin to attempt what he had done earlier within the Nether. The build up of energy focused in his right palm caused some shaking, hinting at instability. Almost.. there..."
From his palm shot out a giant blast of energy, but unlike before, it stopped after traveling two metres. In actuality, it would seem as though a massive sword had been expelled, the amount of energy flowing from it brimming spectacularly, shining enough to be seen from at least a mile away. "HAH. Got it." The traditional smirk painted his cheek, excitement overflowing from him.
"Let's begin."

Varas landed after he performed the aerial attack. The winded arrancar looked around him to see much of the hoard was still standing and walking towards him. He scowled at them before starting to run at a zombie. He did not have any intention of using the exhausted cero attack again so he planed on doing physical attacks using his fists powered by his own natural element of light. His fists started to glow with a strange white and green light. He was breathing hard, while running tired from the double ceros that he fired.
He jumped into the Frey, and started to punch the zombies one after another not scared about being bitten due to his armor protecting his body, and the only place they could really bite was his neck and head. He wasn't planning, he was simply attacking the zombies one after another. His own laziness forgotten. He was slowly getting swarmed by the zombies. Slowly getting overwhelmed by them. He looked at the other two spiritual beings."A LITTLE HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED! I NEED A BREAK FROM BASHING THEM!" He was winded, he was slowly losing juice. He needed to rest. Varas was giving out, from all the reishi he spent even while using his Ressuraccion. He was oh so tired. He could feel his eye-lids start to close. His attacks were growing sluggish. The arrancar needed help, and soon.

She would not be helping the likes of the exhausted man, that was his own damn fault he had ran into the fray without factoring in the fact that the number of the dead were probably in the hundreds if not thousands. Anzu would be letting fate decide rather or not the male should pay for his impulsive actions. Yes, teleporting him to her exact location would had been an act of kindness, but she was saving and using the energy she had to teleport large portions of the zombie horde to some location she really couldn’t care to discern. It would become somebody else’s problem, and that’s all that mattered to the lethargic doll.
“Nobody told you to rush into the middle of the horde! So, no! You got yourself into that mess, now get yourself out,” Anzu shouted, so that the man could hear that she had no intentions of helping him. Rather or not a new being would help him was an entirely different story. And she guessed that if the fates wanted him to be saved, they would send an ‘angel’ to save the man before helping them out with their little problem. She hoped one did come, not to help out the man but to simply help make the process of clearing this particular sector of the city faster. She needed a break, having put a great deal of strain on herself for the simple fact that she was teleporting weight that exceeded her natural limitations, which was five hundred kilograms.
Calculating how much weight she was exactly teleporting wasn’t an option for her nor did it really matter. All that did was the fact that she would most definitely be sleeping for the rest of the week or until she could no longer feel the strain of teleporting masses that far exceeded her set limitation. So yes, help was needed and it would surprisingly enough come.

Kururai was ready for one hell of a time, but it didn't seem like those joined in the task of cutting down the ranks of the zombies shared his sentiment. In fact, one of them went so far as to shout for assistance--something Kururai wouldn't necessarily comply with. On the other hand, the young girl was completely reluctant to help the one who shouted purely out of lack of responsibility for his actions. It was understandable why she would take such a route in response, but it wasn't quite a necessary reaction. Rather, if anything it seemed a little mean, despite the sound reasoning behind it; either way, these affairs held little concern to Kururai. In the mean time, he was still wholly focused on the hordes of lifeless corpses, and despite picking up what the other two were saying by feeling for the vibrations through the air and translating them into actual spoken words--due thanks to the Nether--their conversation was completely disregarded.
Instead, the sharpened reptilian pupils of Kururai scoured the area, taking in just how many bodies there were that were available to his bloodthirsty self. Barely a moment past by before he had a estimated grasp that placed himself amidst a small army of 500 or so--after the multiples the other two took out. So, obviously one would assume it'd be a hassle, right? Not in Kururai's point of view. Far from it, actually; as opposed to the common reaction, he was simply feeling better and better about the situation at hand. High numbers meant more experience and strength to grasp--a concept he was all to accepting of. Thus, his onslaught would begin.
Charging forward--a burst of speed generated from Dimensional Energy blasting out the bottom of his feet--the sword, effortlessly wielded, swung forward and about in a horizontal slash--and the result from this motion? Well, the only reaction Kururai had ever expected from this was the same one he got; a large mass of Dimensional Energy pulsed through his arm, the massive blade acting as an extension and therefore carrying on the energy. From it, an indigo blast was expelled, a tangible crescent shape filling the air. It seemed thin, almost two dimensional, and the speed it was traveling at was hard to keep track of, covering such a wide distance in so little time.
It was a rather impressive move, and well executed despite it being the first time Kururai had done it. In fact, it was likely that he could have failed in performing the move, had he formed the sword in hand successfully the first time. While testing the concept, a burst of energy had relentlessly and uncontrollably left his body in a disintegrating ray. Taking that failure, he already had experience in expelling energy from his body and completely detaching it from himself. Following the concept, he simply extended the act by channeling it through the sword instead of just his arm. From the quickly thought out move, an offensive attack was born, and it was no joke.
Through the air, traveling a good 100 metres, countless heads flew from their necks. The crescent construct generated from Kururai's slash was strong and sharp, potent enough slash completely through the head of numerous zombies. Of course, such a strong attack didn't come without equal payment. As a result, Kururai grew some fatigue; unfortunately, the adrenaline running through his body and the excitement in massacring the masses forced him to completely ignore the tiredness his body would soon reflect--something which might be an adverse consequence in the nearby future.
Despite the rush in his head, a bit of his excitement--although certainly running strong--had subsided just enough for him to have processed what he actually heard earlier. "Was that a... plead for help? By an... arrancar, of all people? HAHA!" From the haughty laugh came his left hand, rising up to cover his forehead and eyes, revealing only his nose and a wide smile, gaping open for his laughter to escape. "No way! And the girl even denied help! Too good!" His laughter continued on for a bit, the zombies still a little ways away from him, thanks to the earlier attack covering a wide area. "Okay, okay. He's asking for help. Which means... He's weak! An arrancar, needing help for weakness! Too laughable--practically sinful! Hah! I wanna see this, oooh yes. That'd be a sight for sore eyes."
With a swing to his side, generally done to fling blood off of one's blade, a small wave of energy blew out from it, severing a few legs from the zombies' hips. This one generated a far weaker amount, thus reaching only a few of the creatures. In the meantime, Kururai would take his leave from the position, instead forming platforms of Dimensional Energy in midair, followed by a series of hops propelling him further into the air. By the end of it, the boy was standing a good few dozens of metres above the amassing hordes that began to encircle the arrancar--the only one of the three amidst the horde. All that was left was for Kururai to bear witness to a lucky struggle or the arrancar's demise. Which would come--a thought easily passed by in his mind.

Could it really be? Zombies in this day and age? These thoughts came from a man furiously scribbling into a book with a quill and ink. His hair was an auburn red and he dressed in clothes that made him look from a different era all together, Victorian England if you’re clothing culture was up to date. His head would dart from side to side like a bird observing the scene, even his eyes had that avian look to them. All around him people were fighting the abominations, although from this distance he could see one of them casually staying out of the fight. It appeared as if no one had noticed him, which is the way he preferred it.
Still scratching into the book he seemed to be taking notes on the way the dead moved, attacked, and died all over again. There was the oddest look of ecstasy on his face as he continued to observe the dead, he got so much pleasure from the morose he could hardly contain himself in this time of wonder. Zombies were always such a fascination since he was so used to the dead becoming spirits and then from there transforming into many wonderful different species. He himself was one of the rarer ones, although he wasn’t keen on revealing exactly what he was when he himself was unaware of the complete situation. Hence why he decided to remain outside of the fight.
Sighing heavily he realized that the others were killing more of the beasts than he preferred. They weren’t leaving enough alive for him to properly research. It seemed like he might have to actually jump into the fight in order to see up close and personally how they reacted to different types of attack. Leaping off the building he was hiding himself, he gracefully descended to the ground as the wind gave way to his movements and cushioned his fall. Dipping his quill into his ink well, he drew it in a long stream, the stream then formed the shape of a rapier. It looked liquid enough to keep the eye following its movements, however when he slashed a nearby zombie the head fell right off the shoulders as if hit with an actual blade. Every few zombies he would slowly lean down and inspect the remains, touching the blood and inspecting the various wounds. The man was more interested in how they continued moving and how they re-died then how to cure or fix them.
As he continued deeper in the subdivision he realized soon enough he would encounter the other two fighters if he already didn’t draw their attention. A beast from a distance was closing in, with a quick flick of the wrist, the blade in his hand turned into a whip and took the feet out from under the encroaching beast. The whip was made of the same ink and had quite similar properties of the rapier, the thing they always had in common was that the quill pen was the hilt in both cases. Walking up to the sprawled out beast he put a boot on its chest to keep it from rising. The whip now becoming a rapier once more proceeded to stick into various parts of the zombie. The zombie finally fell when head was separated from the body. ”Interesting." Were the only words he spoke allowed as he continued his rampage through the quaint residence.

Upon realizing none of the asshats were gonna help him, Varas did the one thing he could do. With a mighty flap of his wings, he shot upwards out of the hoard while spinning so if any of the Zombies were still clinging to him, they would be flung off and into zombies or one of the people that were fighting the hoard.
He couldn't care less if the zombies flew into those people, the people that abandoned him to die. He cracked his neck. His body glowed bright white with green outlines all around him. His katana appeared in his hand. He slowly sheathed it.
The arrancar yawned, before he started to walk towards the edge of the hoard. It seemed his ressuraccion, was a reishi guzzler. Varas released his ressuraccion to conserve his reishi and replenish it faster. He walked towards the human girl, his emerald eyes glowing, with what no one but Varas could guess.
Varas yawned, yet again. It seemed he was tired and was going to rest a few minutes to get his reishi back to at least a fourth of what the level usually is, before starting to blast the zombies once more.
