FUS-ION, HA! [Discussion Thread]

We all know fusion. Almost all of us have seen Dragon Ball Z or know its plot well. Ever since lots of us have been kids, the idea of those character fusing was amazing. A strong character fusing with another strong character? That's a super strong character, and also awesome for gaining the traits of both.

Well, what I'd like to propose today is a roleplayable fusion.

What?
Between two people, they decide on the two characters that they want to have fuse. THe fusion would be temporary, lasting for 3-5 posts or possibly more, depending on the Quality of the fusion. Each person would have a turn to control the character, allowing for their character's dominant traits to show, or selecting between the two of them who has control over the post. This gives a unique kind of roleplay experience for both members of the fusion, and allows for member cooperation the likes of which have never been seen before. Not to mention the epic names that result.

Who?
Anyone that would like to! People who want to increase bonds between one another, get to know one another better, have more fun, or have more character growth. It also allows for the characters to get to know one another better, as they can communicate to one another through their thoughts.

How?
My current proposed solution of how to perform it is thus: The Doctor. Fusion is a biologic occurrence, meaning that it is something that the Doctor would be fit to result in. Add in the loneliness factor he has, and you get motivation to enable fusion to occur. Essentially, the Doctor will create a process that causes the two people who are being fused to have their soul split. Their literal soul will split in half, by their own volition. This means that the fact that they become 1 being is true, as they will have one actual soul, made from the resulting two halves. The other two halves that are not used to make the one go into making the entire system work. They create a shell that results in the new being becoming allowed to exist, bonding the two of them together with its energy. This means that they become one true being due to a soul being used to bind a soul together without excess, creating the fusion.

When the fusion ends, the two halves split once again, the energy used to bind them restructuring their whole souls from the half that they have remaining and being used to separate them once again into two beings, leaving them feeling slightly drained from the energy to separate their souls.

Why?
A personal dream of mine has always been to have the ability to actually fuse characters, as it greatly encourages roleplay and character development, as well as giving characters another option in how they are used. This creates another dimension of fun and I'd like to institute something with my idea called 'fusion trials'. Basically, these would be two fused characters fighting or otherwise competing against one another. Sounds fun, no?

When?
As soon as possible! If I see enough support I'll do everything I can to get it implemented immediately into the site and have it be viable for use, now that I have the 'how' of making it possible down. So if you like this idea, drop a line and tell me so!

Fusion Abilities

First: Sword Combination, Electric Snake Fang
A sword that can rapidly accelerate at several times the speed of sound, while charging with lightning bolts streaming from it at the user's will.

Second: Howling Dust
When roaring with determination, can cause a massive blast of pure Dust Style to be released.

Third: Bodily Conversion: Snake Style
Able to transform pieces of the body into snakes, extraordinarily durable and with fangs as sharp as blades and as tough as diamonds, able to increase their size at will with the usage of energy.

Fourth: Gravitational Scythe
Able to summon a scythe that can release massive waves of pressure, moving everything around it straight downwards, attempting to slam it violently into the ground.

Future Ideas:

- A form the fused can enter into, such as releasing their combined weapon or something similar?
- Permanent fusions, though this would be extremely difficult and take more time for the Doctor to develop.
- Conduits: Special items that can allow the two specific people to fuse so long as they are close enough to one another, perhaps also with its own ability to turn off as is desired.
- Custom Creations: Using the abilities granted by their new form to create new techniques in special styles, or something similar.

What do I think of this idea? I don't mind it one bit. I feel you should probably make this some sort of black-market deal and make some money off of it as an unofficial shop of sorts if you wanna go that route. However, I just think this whole thing needs a bit more advertising and what not.

I don't personally have much of an issue with it, but I still think it would be a challenge to RP a fused character. So that would be up to the people who decide to undergo this to deal.

I think this would be more appealing if you could create weapons of these sort of things. Maybe if you were to take two DNA samples and then forge it into a type of equipment that would be interesting for myself. I also think the store idea isn't bad, but you'd need to find someone to commit like Blank said as well.

My own thoughts are indifferent, but I'm not against it. Looking over some of the events, I'd recommend make it some type of mini-mission to make it more appealing as well.

Safe to say I love the Idea

I'd like to ask a few questions and make a few propositions in this post so here goes.

• To begin with, whos skill sheet would be prioritized/used by the fusioned duo?
  
• Can you inter-race fusion? (I know the anime showed it, but if inter-race fusion took place in this context then whose racial abilities would be utilized?)
  
• Does the tier of the fusioned being differ from that of the unfusioned individuals? (Say Zin and Hakai fused, would they reach tier 0-1 in combined power? (Bit like Vegeta and Goku Fusion) Or say Shatari and Moonie fused, would their tier be averaged or would the stronger individuals tier dominate? (Or would the duo need to be within the same tier bracket in order to fuse successfully? Considering equal amount of power has to come from each person, if we're following the DBZ canon)

I think that this will encourage tag teams and lead to a few people partnering up. Its great, but I suggest having a fusion profile for each individual, so maybe a whole new character template consisting of a combination of information from each fighter so nothing new is added unless new techniques are created by the fused pair. These fusion profiles, much like character app should be stored for reference in order to prevent people abusing the enhanced state.

I think that the tier of the fused creation should also be determined by staff upon approving the fusion profile. (Unless you have something else in mind)

I think that each individual out of the duo that want to fuse should pay 10million each in order to attain an item which allows them to fuse together. So people don't go around fusing left, right and center but have a set partner with whom they can fuse with.

Personally, I don't think that one person should be allowed to fuse two of their characters together as it takes away from the point.

Sadly, I had more to say while reading through this but as times passed I've lost track so if anything does pop back into mind ill be sure to post it.

Thankfully, I've addressed most of these in the original, and this allows me to address tehm in brief.

1. The skill sheet would go on the new profile and would be determined by the creators.
2. Yes, you can. The new being isn't a specific race, simply has specific powers.
3. The tier would be determined on the 'grade' of the fuser they have (think the potara earrings.)
4. See three.
5. I'm going to make a shop where the fusers can be purchased. One cannot fuse without a fusion profile, but as long as the fusers are compatible with their users then everything should be fine. Of course, each new fusion would be extremely disoriented at first, but it would be interesting nevertheless.
6. We'll see. I'm still thinking about that.
