Unohana giggled lightly at Toshiro's usual outburst of anger when people didn't send the right respects of his name, however, this time he wouldn't be the captain. Something that slightly worried Unohana about him carrying the position. She was unsure if he would feel less worthy after being a Captain for so long, but it was something he'd have to grow to live with. "Don't worry, you will always be Captain Hitsugaya in my mind. Don't let the rank alter your mindset for our future endeavors, we all need one another for things to work out. And I wouldn't dare ask another to fill the spot over yourself, Captain Hitsugaya." She smirked, being her normal pleasant self that she had managed to create a name for.

Listening to the story of Hinamori's most recent endeavors, Unohana was a little bit thrown off by them. While she knew Hinamori to be someone that was easily manipulated by her personal attachments to others, Retsu also didn't see her to be on that was easily captured due to her potential. Not only this, but she was shocked to hear that the Quincy of all people were related to the matters. What would the Quincy want with the Shinigami now, of all times? Surely the quarrels the two races had once shared with one another were extinguished long ago, though some did still hold their grudges and rightfully so. "Whilst I am pleased to know that Hinamori has returned safely, there are plenty of other shinigami that require the proper training to treat the injuries that Hinamori has experienced. While I may be experienced, Hinamori signed up for this knowing that injury was possible. Therefore, she will be treated just as any other Shinigami that lies within the ranks of the Gotei 13 will be treated and will be escorted to the 4th Squad. If further help is needed beyond that, I will provide assistance, but until then others must learn for themselves as well. Special treatment won't get anyone anywhere." Unohana stated sternly, glancing over at Hitsugaya periodically to ensure he wouldn't be enraged by her choice in words. Though she didn't really mean any harm to Hitsugaya in saying them, she knew that Hinamori was a sensitive subject for the platinum-haired lad.

Tsubasa went on to talk about an old adversary that Unohana had once had, and if she could remember correctly the man stood a damn well challenge against her. He was one of the many that knew her to be the person she once was, making him someone that she'd rather not reconnect ties with. She'd do what she could to keep the beast chained to it's stake. "To be quite honest, Captain Commander, I would prefer it if my shadows stay cast behind me. Surely the man isn't one who he once was when I knew him, and having hounds like that will only hinder our operations in the future. I'll decline your offer to retrieve him, there are many others that could prove to be of assistance to us that aren't considered a danger to us. This includes the training grounds..." She explained trying to portray the point that she didn't really want to fill the place with people she didn't hold very long relationships with. She wished to have people that held reputable names that still held value and hadn't tarnished over time due to their actions. While it might seem a bit cruel, she couldn't just trust anyone with these positions. She understood the groups importance and didn't wish to slander the Gotei's name with its members. Though, inevitable, it could at least be dampened.

Tsubasa continued on to command some of his men that leaped from the shadows to complete a task he requested of him. Likely to do with Tsunashi, though it wasn't something that was of her concern do to her declining his offer. He continued on to talk about the culprits when the name "Sosuke Aizen" came up. To which Unohana grew slightly shocked by the intrusion of words. "That can't be possible..." She muttered and turned away, though she wasn't exactly worried about the man being alive... she was more worried about those that were alive by his side. They were bound to damnation now if it were true. She turned away placing her hand to her chin pondering how such things could be possible. Behind her, she could hear Tsubasa continue to speak with Hitsugaya, which she paid little mind to.

She turned back to Tsubasa once more and bowed to him. "I believe this meeting has been aquitable enough. Please send a messenger if you wish to further discuss arrangements for other members. As of right now I must make my departure. I have given you my word, now I see it to be time I put forth action toward those words. Farewell, Captain Commander Unabara. Until next time." She turned away toward the door simply touching the barrier kido he has placed upon the room making a square cut out the size of the door, walking out. She turned to Hitsugaya and nodded to him before departing back to her home where she would begin to make accommodations for new living arrangements within the walls once more.

It was fairly easy to forget that Toshiro was very much still the Shinigami equivalent of a teenager, mature for his age or not, the fact was he was still very young. He could already tell that this partnership was going to be full of coy teasing, like some kind of deliciously twisted Rangiku with more tact. Sheesh, Toshiro can never get a break can he? Women love to tease him in one fashion or another. Like some cute little animal that clearly doesn't want the attention, but you hug it affectionately and see it makes a super cute squeak sound while obviously trying to get away. You love the sound! So you hug it again and again and again. It's sort of like that. It's maddening! But, inner Toshiro digresses. Her words traveled to him, but it came off as if she was mocking him or at the very least teasing him with semi-sincerity. Still, it wouldn't be Hitsugaya without some manner of composure. Besides the fact he was a lieutenant now, in comparison to normal divisions he still held equivalent power to a captain. He was equivalent to the normal captain and his captain was over such, answering directly to the commander. It was like some sort of zero division, except it answered solely to the Soul Society as opposed to the actual zero division who answers only to the Soul King.

"I see... Thank you.." he responded, his eyes casting away slightly in an almost seemingly semi-embarrassed gesture. He felt it was clearly mostly teasing, possibly; but it was still something quite nice to hear. It wasn't often in the slightest, but Hitsugaya did have small instances of seemingly emotion like responses. Which is something, if it is to be considered his usual icy persona. Seriously, you'd normally have better luck making an attempt to have a legitimately continuous conversation with Byakuya Kuchiki than to get a rise out of Toshiro. He has the emotional consistency of a popsicle unless it has to do with certain people or subjects. Otherwise, aside from those, you'd practically be talking to an ice cream cone and get the same 'wtf do I care?' response. Ugh', this is why we're not a people person. Emotions, social BS; all of it. Too complicated. Life should be simple. Like... Er'.. Stuff.. Shut it. -_-; Hitsugaya is a surprisingly complicated character, isn't that right inner Toshiro? ...Dude.. Y'er making us sound crazy. I'm not crazy, you're crazy. Toshiro simply sighed as a result of his realization that he needs to work more on his social skills.

Then it happened, Tsubasa and Unohana had slammed their fists into Toshiro's biggest two no-no buttons. Momo and Aizen. Toshiro didn't respond for a moment, almost as if the male was in shock. As if it had to sink in what they were speaking of. Aizen being spotted? Not a chance..? Something involving the Quincy? The hell is this, the Twilight Zone? Momo alive? Was kidnapped.. Oh no... You pushed the button. You don't do that. You shouldn't'a did that. "I have two questions." Hitsugaya replied, his voice shaking with every syllable he uttered; the male taking careful care to control the flexion in his tone. Every fiber of his being was begging for aggression, it took everything the man had to keep it in reigns. And he was barely doing that. Without even realizing he was doing it, committing the following act entirely unconsciously the temperature in the surrounding vicinity dropped well into the negatives in terms of the Fahrenheit scale via his Reiatsu leaking out as a result of his more recent emotional turbulence which further displayed and emphasizing the sheer will power he had to utilize in order to cage his urges that was boiling to the surface.

"Where is Momo?" he asked, desperately trying to control himself. As he spoke, his hot breathe met the cold air which made the cloud that formulates when people speak in cold weather. He said this, leering at Tsubasa maliciously. But any veteran would notice that it wasn't Tsubasa he was aiming this at, he didn't even see Tsubasa at this point; he saw through him. Seeing only those who were at fault for Momo's condition. Those who took her, and his very self. "And where are they?" it was very, very clear to whom he was referring to in regards to 'they'. Saying this through clenched teeth, heck, at this point his whole body was tense. If this was the old Toshiro, he would've already lashed out. Now he was controlling it, however small amount off control it was it was still an improvement in regards to how he used to be. In a way, it was sort of impressive. He kept trying as hard as he could to keep his composure. But it was proving more and more difficult by the second. It was an easy concept to consider... Never come between a dragon and that which he lives to protect.

He had spent so much time looking for her, so many years lost. What could they've done to her in that time? WHY DIDN'T HE FIND HER!? The fuck was he thinking?!?! He let them kidnap her and do god knows what to her. Rape? Torture? It was like the incident with Aizen all over again. A cluster of emotions were simmering inside him, climbing over each other to scratch at what little surface of composure was left. It wasn't clear what was worse. The fact his heart was breaking due to the guilt or his actions he was currently enacting despite himself. It was a touchy subject to begin with, but Tsubasa struck a nerve with a lightning bolt in this instance. To make matters worse, Unohana callously cast off Momo without any regard. It was horrible. Part of him understood her reasoning, but another part of him wanted to give her a piece of his mind. If words could kill, right? What's worse is he understood her disposition, which made himself more angry at himself. In regard to her words and her leaving, he bit his lower lip in a physical manifestation of his growingly feeble attempt at holding it in.

His lip began to bleed a little as his aqua hued optics cast themselves directly into the eyes of Tsubasa, his eyes betraying him via displaying his inner turmoil; the blood creating a small trickle of the crimson liquid down to his chin. This is how messed up he was at the moment, he almost never displays much emotion and now his very eyes are giving away his inner most secrets. "Please... I need to know..." he remarked, bowing his head. He was ashamed at his actions, but he couldn't help it. That's what this meant to him. Can you breathe without air? It's the same thing. He'd never willingly admit it, but she had become an irreplaceable existence to him. Someone essential, someone he....

His crimson eyes struck a piercing gaze at Hitsugaya as Unohana left the office, she didn't truly expect him to buy that. Their were more worms to the Takeshi Yamazaki person, he would allow them to be left alone. Hitsugaya asked two questions, vengeance is what this boy sought. No different from Tsubasa many years ago when he killed his sister, his eyes softened as he let a sigh out. "Momo is safe resting with several guards on her from my clan, she's in the Fourth Division for now." Indicating he intended to move her, he wasn't sure yet as his eyes looked at Hitsugaya. Should he tell him, no he couldn't risk it. If anything happened to him, the girl would lose her will to live. Based on Kisuke's intel he could tell how close they were. Tsubasa frame didn't move as he waited for a moment. Seeming to calculate everything, deciding on what he should do with Hitsugaya. If he went out there he could send anyone else they have in different locations to death, he needed to stall.

"In a moment the second the thing, will be answered..Calm yourself, for a moment..something I wanted to tell you.." Tsubasa's voice was calm and something about him seemed composed, he saw the outcomes Hitsugaya saw. They were dark and something he hoped wouldn't of happened, his eyes remembered the days of being an assassin. It wasn't simple or easy, he needed the moment as he closed his eyes. "When I first saw her, I thought I was looking at someone from a time so long ago..She resembles her, I understand your emotions well enough.." Tsubasa said, something about his voice was pained as though something squeezed his heart. It was like a vice grip on his chest, he knew the moment down to the very second. Once upon a time his light was extinguished, his eyes had seen things that made the things Captains had done during Aizen seem childish. His nature was more like someone from Unohana's time perhaps, he didn't seem so normal to those that looked.

Tsubaki Unabara, the little sister of three brothers..An angel born among the demons of the Zeraki..She was different from most, she...had a nature I can't quite explain..Once I was your age, similar power and such. I remember a fight and she was in the middle..I lost my temper..and because of that...I lost the one thing important to me, losing everything that ever mattered was the hardest thing ever..But I am still alive...but the blood will never come off my hands, not hers and that is something you must avoid Hitsugaya at all cost." Tsubasa said the pain was evident, something involving Tsubaki Unabara was painful and the site of Momo only served to make him think on it again. He felt helpless, in the old days he'd off been out there and ripped them apart without a second thought. Hitsugaya still had his light, Tsubasa had to protect him and Momo from the darkness that waited for a chance. They would end up in a blackness that Tsubasa did constantly trying to die in battle.

"I can't tell you where they are, because if you go now..Hundreds of people will die.." Tsubasa's hand was lightly clenched into a fist, Hitsugaya perhaps didn't understand how hard it was for him. He looked up at the ceiling a slight bit of blood trickling from his hand. "But, when we know why than you and Soifon will be sent out.." Tsubasa sighed releasing his hand from the strain of it, he wanted to be alone. Talking about Tsubaki for him was hard, he glanced at Hitsugaya now someone he suspected would be leaving now. Now that he understood it, Tsubasa and he had traded positions at one point. Tsubasa and Tusbaki had gone through the same ordeal except that fate had been kind to Hitsugaya. It had allowed him to keep Momo and Rangiku, his eyes looked at Hitsugaya now. Rangiku was safe, he'd already assured that but many things were uncertain. The story wouldn't be done so simply as this, everything needed a proper ending and the Quincy would have theirs.

"Don't...let go of her Hitsugaya, go to Momo now..She needs to hear your voice, your light needs you..Don't walk the path that I have, only pain and suffering will find you on it." Tsubasa's last words to the young Shinigami. His eyes looked outside, Hitsugaya was angry right now and it wouldn't slip in most likely. He knew that Hitsugaya wouldn't send anyone who was captured to death. Because he didn't see the girl Momo being happy about it or in fact anyone. The job they were apart of, had them sworn to save as many people as possible. This wasn't just a job it was a life, they had no choice but to do it. Tsubasa wanted to kill them, to end it but his instincts told him to wait. His mind as well, he had to act slowly and take in every single move. Tsubasa's crimson eyes looked out the window as though something was on his mind. The burden was still heavy, it didn't get easier being him, nor would it ever become a thing that was easier to handle.

The Pale Rider - Preparation for the next Pale - Page 2 Empty Re: Preparation for the next Pale

The mans cold aqua hued optics were burning with passion and intent. As though ice could burn.. Some kind of cold flame? Regardless of the logic, the point was that Toshiro was experiencing a large amount of emotions on a huge scale. To the point he felt the figurative lump in his throat, which seem to prevent him from speaking. Resulting in his begrudgingly having to listen to this man a moment longer, when all he wanted to do was make those who hurt Momo suffer for their misdeeds. This urge was almost enough to make it unbearable, but he stood there. Listening. Tsubasa spoke to him. Implying that Momo was being kept under guard and that she would be moved soon. As a result, Toshiro automatically understood his implications at Momo herself. How dare he... Does he mean to say that Momo is some kind of traitor or sleeper cell?

"You mean to say that she..." he began, but his voice trailed off as it dawned on him. He didn't know who he was more pissed at. Tsubasa for acting on perfectly reasonable possibilities that a leader needs to do so to protect the greater good or the fact that Toshiro knew it to be perfectly reasonable and understood it, in fact he knew that if the situation were reversed that he'd have done the same thing if he had to. Which made him even more mad. Then he began to lecture Toshiro, explaining to him the story of Tsubaki and how things turned out. Which agitated him even more. But listening, really listening; he began to understand on some level the similarities between the two. Toshiro closed his eyes slowly, thinking quietly to himself as he listened.

In the time which passed by, he heard the old Captain-Commander out with sincerity. Including, but not limited to, the fact if he went off half cocked that it would potentially cost the lives of countless other people. Which Hitsugaya would undoubtedly blame himself for, never forgiving himself as a result of it. It was like trying to drown a forest fire with fire trucks, almost impossible; but given time and effort it could happen. Toshiro found himself considerably more calm, having been given a moment to think. But like this fire, there were still burning embers amidst the ashes. Still, his frame of mind now was far better than it was. He was himself again. This didn't mean he wouldn't enjoy payback, but he would do it in the right way; without the cost of others to pay the price of it. He wasn't that kind of heartless man.

"Understood, Captain-Commander. I apologize for my behavior." he said coolly, after a moment of silence was experienced which meant Tsubasa had finished speaking. One thing hasn't changed in all this time, Momo was a quick way to get to Hitsugaya. Whether this is a weakness or a strength remains to be seen. Toshiro gestured his form toward the direction of the doorway. "Unless you have something further for me, I have somewhere I need to be." he said in his usual cold persona, implying he was off to see Momo. To make sure she was okay. Without giving much room for reply, Toshiro quietly left. He allowed his feelings to make a fool of him. Something that happened when Momo was involved. However, he was in control at the moment. At the moment.
