The Return [Open]

In this world, it seems that only the strong survive. The weak would suffer to the strong and be stamped upon and abused. It seemed like the world was a merciless place. One person knew this all too well. Adversity seemed to be his best friend in these times. Poliro Tensol. Once he was a proud captain. Now he has been reduced to a myth. No one had seen him in so long since his disappearance from the Gotei 13, he was thought to of died or missing. But no one really cared at the end of the day. No one came looking for him and he thought he was on his own. Little did anyone know, he went away to fight. If he didn't, who knows what of happened to him. He went to fight himself, his own mind. Another being born out the miserable pain of the loss of his loved one tortured his mind and fought for control. A monster inside his own soul. Before he disappeared, people often said Poliro looked dead on the outside. No one knew why. Then came the day where he simply disappeared without a word. Rumors existed for a long time about possible outcomes to him, some even may of sighted him but no one knew the the truth. The truth was, Poliro simply isolated himself from the rest of the world deep into Karakura Forest, in a isolated area of the forest where no one often came by. He did this because he felt he wasn't fit to be a captain with how his mental state came to be, with a hollow unleashed into his soul trying to control him and take over his spirit all together. However, Poliro wouldn't let it happen no matter what, but he had to pay the price and retreat from the world otherwise it all may of been too much for him at the time. It had been a very long time since the days he had gone. Maybe he was lucky to survive such events, who knows. But now, lets go to our setting. It was dawn. The sun rose over the woodlands. A sign for the sleeping to awaken. The forest and trees and other woodland terrains went on for many miles. The reaper was truly in a no-mans land. In these parts low level hollows were common due to not being able to get close to the big booming city Karakura itself. It was kinda of a hunting ground for some people. Poliro was making his refuge here. There was a small cave he went to rest. In the area where had made his refuge, the trees all around it were quite horribly burned and dead, as well as ashes scattered all over the floor. Poliro often suppressed his presence as his natural reaitsu is quite high due to the combined power of him and his hollow. However if you are close to him in this area you would most certainly feel it. For most people it would cause a sort of tingly warm sensation. Some would be afraid. The man himself, Poliro was looking up to the sky. He felt it was now right to return to the world. His strength had fully returned, he had gained control himself and his hollow meaning he was able to awaken new powers and ultimately he could face the world again after showing a lot of people big weakness and instability. But where was he going to go? He wasn't planning to return the Gotei certainly, lest they threw him in prison for his abandonment. Instead he was just going to let life guide him this time. However it wasn't always so peaceful out here. Just as Poliro was about to begin walking back in the direction of Karakura, his peace was interupted by what seemed to be a gang of low-level hollows. Poliro counted 5 of them as they seemed to slowly drudge forward for him. The mindless beasts felt his power and they obviously wanted a piece of him. There was one coming from each direction around him. He couldn't help but smirk. "Looks like we're gonna have a fun time right lads?" He softly laughed to himself. This forest was just about a lot more heated. "LETS HAVE IT!" Kicking into action for the first time in so long, Poliro got quite excited. The hollow in front of him would be the first to go on the stomping grounds as he drew out his sword. "Let's all send you away quickly, I'm nice like that.." HE ran to attack the first one in his way. Before the slow minded beast even realized it, Poliro did a powerful vertical slash down that sliced the brainless being into half. He then turned to face the others that were coming from behind, trying to close in on him. He felt the rush of battle again. The adrenaline that makes you feel invincible, the enjoyment of the fighting. He hadn't felt this for such a long time. His sword lit up with fire using his fire creation and control abilities. "This might sting lads." Following his cocky statement, Poliro slashed out in the direction of the other hollows. The flames rushed off the blade in a arc striking all of the hollows, the intense flames of Poliro simply burning them alive to death as they all went heel and fell to the ground becoming burning corpses. Sadly, using his flame ablities in the woodland would have some consequences as some of the trees that were still alive nearby caught flames and began to burn up. He sighed. "Looks like some people are gonna notice now. Better start moving. Doubt there's anyone to get me in these parts.." With that said, Poliro began to advance, a strong aroma of burning being capable of being smelled or picked up on from parts in the forest. Poliro in his little fighting moment also didn't really suppress his powers so from a distance, people could pick up on his distance. It'd be quite clear now; the reaper was finally returning back to the world after a long isolation. Anything could happen now as fate takes over. |

As the flames kindled within the forest and a heavy pressure exerted itself, another presence seemed to be looming attracted it seemed to the magnitudes of power present. A blonde girl who’s skin was as white as snow on a winters day appeared to be hovering in the air. As the fires spread out , raging into an inferno, karakura forest was ablaze, there was no doubt about that. Yet as the supernatural winds themselves seemed to pick up, the girl who was hovering on thin air slowly raised her left hand releasing nothing more than a compacted and controlled burst of raw reishi. Like a star burst, this wave would light up the sky for a moment, however it wouldn’t trigger the slightest alarm. Why? The energy was not harmful, instead it would generate an immense maelstrom of wind, wind which would batter the flames into undeniable submission just from the harshness and rough way they roared on by. The girls golden hair was blown violently by the gale, her formal attire fluttering rapidly in the breeze.
The winds which at their harshest roared like a pack of rabid wolves, would have blown leaves stripped clean from their branches high into the air. Cherry blossoms and flower petals joining in the mix in natures clear show of beauty. Next, the winds would change, slowly the ground and sky would begin to transmit raw power, a trembling would reverberate through the tree’s and bring a strange tint in the skies. Momentarily, for a nanosecond she went into bankai state, while untamed blue energy would seep upwards from the leaves of the forest, electrokinesis, the manipulation of the electrons in each individual atom would begin to take place. The purpose, was quite simple, by manipulating the tree’s she’d essentially fire-proof them for the next 48 hours, after which they would burn legitimately like any other common tree. However doing this to the whole forest was not an easy feat, the amount of electricity needed would have called forth an electrical imbalance in the clouds, essentially generating a massive freak storm above karakura forest.
Rain would pour down, a deluge of wet pattering against the canopy and the forest below. Magnolia slowly now as the rain whipped by her soaking her own hair and her clothes, descended into the forest. Slowly as her golden hair seemed to cling to the contours of her neck and face she had disappeared slowly into the green foliage of the canopy of the forest. There she wouldn’t’ have yet entirely landed on the ground, rather she seemed to have slowly allowed her rump to land on a branch hanging roughly 10 feet above the forest floor, her mismatched gold and blue pair of eyes staring into the murk and gloom, ominous thunder crackling overhead like some growling beast. She seemed perplexed, her lips slightly curled into a smile as her eyes found the shape of a walking man, who seemed to have about him the aura… of fire.
“..Hey you, did you accidently torch the forest , no offense but I was doing student council work in karakura high and I couldn’t help see the smoke. Also. . you seem fairly strong, what’s a power baller like you doing out here in the middle of a forest?”
Magnolia seemed to say her words ringing sharply, crisply in the rain which had filtered down from the canopy above by now. The droplets of rain beating against her head, leaving little streamlets of water to run down her face and curve from her chin to follow the contours of her neck. A light almost absent minded and laid back expression on her face. Almost like she had deemed that what ever she had run into would be enough to alleviate her boredom for the time being. She truly did have a million questions racing in that fine-tuned brain of hers, however she held them all back grudgingly so that the lad wouldn’t be utterly overwhelmed by every single little tidbit of information she was looking for. Instead she would have taken a figurative step back, reassessed herself and calmed down, counted to ten and let her eyes wander against the dreary green backdrop of the tree’s above, her figure illuminated by a stray flash of lightning.
”I just love thunderstorms , down you? Since ancient times you see, storms have been both feared and the topic of intense deitification, norse.. greek.. even ancient civilizations named their gods after the elements.. , but for me. . I just enjoy the feeling of the cold rain, and the chilling thrill of the rumbling roar which gets my heart fluttering in my chest. . . Wouldn’t you agree?”
Magnolia had murmured, clearly trying to take on and create some form of small talk, her words would seem almost absent minded trailing off into a whisper at the end while she just watched the storm, perfectly captivated by its natural beauty. She would make no move to hinder or stop his progress, not yet anyways, as she was waiting to see how the individual would react. Treating this both as a potential way to find more friends, or simply a social experiment. To see how the human state of mind would react in such. . bizarre circumstances did certainly stimulate her brain cells. So she just waited absent-mindedly watching the skies above to see how her newest interest would take the unexpected change in events.

As Poliro walked forward, he began to calm down again after his quick fix of thrills. The hollow within feasted on that adrenaline so he had trained himself to stay calm at all times. It was a part of how he controlled the beast within. Most of the time he had spent in isolation was spent learning how to control himself. It took a very long time to say the least. He often compared it to going off to fight a war As he walked, he began to quickly to realize he wasn't alone as he felt a powerful presence. He began to wonder who could be here and what their intentions were going to be. Poliro then saw the fires he had created seemingly being destroyed by some wind force. It didn't seem natural certainly. "Seems like someone noticed. Someone strong. Lets hope for once they aren't looking for a rowdy brawl.." He noticed the sky changed color for a moment. It seemed like unusual things were happening and he knew this was probably the work of the person nearby. He wondered what they were trying to do, was it the fire brigade or something that came to clean up his mess? He smirked to himself at the thought of that. Unfortunately though, he was expecting trouble due to the nature of the world. But maybe it wouldn't be trouble, it might be a bit more pleasant than that for all her knows. The sky then finally began to pour down with rain onto the woodlands as result of the abilities that had occurred in the area. Poliro sighed as his hair and clothes quickly became wet as a result of the downfall. The sound of the rain helped to calm Poliro's fury after his brief fight however. It began to make him a bit sentimental about his life and the events but kept moving on. This is where he'd finally come face to face with the one that brewed up this little rainstorm. He didn't know what form the person what was gonna take, but he didn't seem to expect who he found. She began to talk to him: “..Hey you, did you accidentally torch the forest , no offense but I was doing student council work in Karakura High and I couldn't help see the smoke. Also.. you seem fairly strong, what’s a power baller like you doing out here in the middle of a forest?" Poliro sighed in relief a little. He wasn't exactly looking to pick a fight so soon after deciding to make contact with people and society once more, it wouldn't leave a good impression on anybody now would it? Being glad that he wasn't going straight into battle and fighting with people, it seems like the woman had more to say which give Poliro some more time to give her a proper answer. ”I just love thunderstorms , don't you? Since ancient times you see, storms have been both feared and the topic of intense deitification, norse.. greek.. even ancient civilizations named their gods after the elements.. , but for me. . I just enjoy the feeling of the cold rain, and the chilling thrill of the rumbling roar which gets my heart fluttering in my chest. . . Wouldn't you agree?” She was speaking some interesting sentiments as the rain continued to pour down onto the earth around them. Poliro gathered his thoughts and was going to say a lot like she did. He'd be nice to her and share his own sentiments and thoughts with her as well as explaining why he was out here. He was gonna have a lot to say like she did, certainly. "Heh.. hello there. You're the one that stirred up this little rainstorm? Must of took some effort. I was indeed the one that caused that little fire there. I'm sorry for that, was a aftereffect of some small fry trying to take a piece out of me. I've been out here for a very long time dear. I've been.. training myself for a long time. Many months have passed. I've tried to make my presence out here quite secretive because I needed to be myself for that time. Its time now that I felt ready to return to the world. I don't know where i'll go or what i'll do, i'm just gonna let it all play out. I'll probably end up fighting one way or another. Its all i'm good at, to be honest." "The elements are forces that have existed for as long as the universe has. They are unstoppable, primordial forces. The rain feels weird to me. The sound of it is quite relaxing though however but to feel it come down me is just a odd sensation when you can turn it all into a steaming hot spring. Heh. He smirked a little. The rain carried onnto pour down upon the two people as he awaited her responses to his speech. |

“Why yes, I did cause this little drizzle~ However it didn’t really take as much energy as it took knowing what I wanted to do with the energy.”
Magnolia said softly her voice like a musical velvet, a mixture of both clarity and soft spoken power. Her mismatched eyes glancing up into the sky while she softly exhaled slowly thinking back on the crucial parts of his story. “I've been out here for a very long time dear. I've been.. training myself for a long time. Many months have passed. I've tried to make my presence out here quite secretive because I needed to be myself for that time. Its time now that I felt ready to return to the world. I don't know where i'll go or what i'll do, i'm just gonna let it all play out. I'll probably end up fighting one way or another. Its all i'm good at, to be honest." the guy had said previously, her eyes narrowed some as she had let out a little breath, shaking her head as the ground thrummed with power. Unmistakable power.
“Fighting is all you are good at? Then let me show you something . . . interesting”
Magnolia’s slender left hand raised up and slipped down her face as she peered sideways at him. This would occur as her energy rose surpassing the lads by a large margin, the sky lighting up moments with power which dyed the skies in their color, like a fallen star as she donned her mask, her energy had become like another entity entirely. However she’d have allowed her hollow voice which was as entrancing as her normal voice, like a music box carrying many sounds and many voices all at the same time, saying the same thing, in the same place , in the same moment in time.
“ Do you really think you are only a fighter?”
Her question was directed at him, and only him as her voice seemed to hold a cruel amusement, of someone who knew the world at its worst, yet chose to see the better in it. While power thrummed about her, her hair was slowly whipping around in rhythmic pulsating waves, like the beating of a heart. Her energy signature would have lit up the entire forest, but it wasn’t harming a single damn thing. This was because she could control the absurd amount of energy rising from her own body control it well and knew what her own limitations were.
Magnolia continued to sit there, the rain drenching her clothes, which clung to her body to which she seemed almost oblviously unaware of the indecency of those actions. Rather, it seemed like she just didn’t care. Her head shifted tilting to the side, as the energy seemed to begin settling down her mask seemed to dissipate as he had moved her hand across it swiping to the side. The sky returning to the normal shade of dreary grey the rain beating down melodramatically; her eyes had been lidded, hidden under thick lashes.
The girl seemed to have slowly shook her head after a moment, a hiss of air escaping her lips. ”Is this man for real?” she’d have thought while her eyes peered over at him, trying to decide if he was being serious or not. “He’s almost. . . like how mother was, unable to see the good in his situation” She’d softly have softened her steely gaze, lips curving into a understanding smile, as she swung from her hands which had rested on the branch water splashing as her feet landed with a wet slap on the ground, she now stood roughly 10 feet from the man, her breath coming out with a slight crackle of energy.
“You know I’m as much a cursed being as you . . . no. . I probably am more cursed then you. Cursed with this affliction known as power, we fight because we have the power to do so, the power to change the world. . . “
Magnolia began as she slowly would have begun to bleed, a barrier forming around the 2 mile stretch of forest around them, acting as a barrier to keep her energy from spilling out as she proved a point. The wind in the barrier picking up to a deafening roar, as amidst her bleeding a blue light began to expand around her body growing, growing, like a beast awoken from a deep slumber. It began to tangibly fill the air around them with a dense fog, a fog of pure reishi as that energy rose like the tide. Her gentle smile still on her face though as she had donned her mask once more, her energy exploding to the point that the barrier shook like it was the first wave in a nuclear strike. Magnolia shook reinforcing it keeping it from damaging the forest as the energy kept rising as she kept bleeding, as the two had been directly connected since birth.
Her lips parted now, as she let out a little huff, the energy continuously rising to the point that it would have been like a blinding light, illuminating the heart of the storm. Massive volumes of energy coursing through the vicinity of the woods, a light so bright that not even a smidge of darkness could find its way through it. Not even the smallest shadow remained in this supernatural light that stretched on lighting up the night with the radiance of a falling star. While she stood her clothes burning and rippling in every direction while bits and pieces fell off from the impending might of the energy.
” Just because you know nothing of this world other than fighting, doesn’t mean that you cannot find happiness. Such narrow thinking is irrational.”
Magnolia stated simply, her voice hollowfied yet somehow sweet, and soft like silk, understanding as if she was talking to an injured bird. Her energy continuing to rise while the light rolled, the thunder storm roared on, muted by the barriers that sprung up to contain the energy per her own wishes. She wouldn’t let even a fragment of her own energy escape. While her eyes had been focused solely on Poliro, as if trying to search in his sole for something, for a spark, her own expression was hard to gauge because of her mask. Yet she slowly let out a little bubbling laugh, breath escaping while she took a step forward, her shoes no longer present due to the immensity of her own energy.
“ So do not see the bad in your situation, such thinking is childish “
Her words held more than simple scolding, they held a weight the weight of having experienced these childish follies for herself. Her lips softly had parted while her mask seemed to open with her mouth the hollow bone allowing another steamy breath to trickle forth as she took another step forward. Her foot making a wet squishing sound against the mud that was underfoot, while she just had her energy continuously rising, she just had frowned to herself internally. Since her face couldn’t move due to the mask and its bony effects.
“ I bet you could be good at whatever you fancied if you wanted to bad enough. “
Her feet stopped moving, as she said this her voice just frank and honest, directly to the point while her hands hung at her side. Slowly though she began to raise the right hand extending it her palm face up as if she wanted him to reach out at take it, they by now certainly had been close enough to touch hands as they stood.. maybe .. 2 feet away from each other from the previous strides she had taken. Her hollowfied eyes hard to read as she slowly had thought something over, the gears turning in her head.
“ If you don’t want to fight anymore, Hide forever, people with power should use it for a greater purpose, to make things better in this world. “
Now her eyes slowly looked up at the grey sky and the barriers that loomed all around them, her energy rising almost as if it was resonating with her voice, with the honest integrity of her words. It would have increased further, higher and higher, as if the sky was the only limit it could see in sight. Blood running from her body as she felt with a dull throbbing the pain that gripped her when she actually fully released her energy. It was a familiar pain as a small trickle of blood ran from the side of her hollow mask. Yet to onlookers it would look like she wasn’t even bothered by it, she certainly had enough room to actually think around it.
“I to be honest, lost my mother to herself but now there is one thing I can do. I thought about it, and I decided I want to be the hope that the world has lost, I am not a rosary, a being of legendary power. Nor am I a deity like being, I lack that strength. But with this body, with my soul which are both everlasting for me until the end of time itself, I resolved that my purpose is to fight the forces that seek to destroy this world, to bring despair to it. I will rise higher like a bird, which soars for the heavens. With my power and my two hands. . . “
She began bringing her hands in clenching them into fists as she looked down slowly. Energy rolling around her as it exploded whipping upwards, another barrier forming while she was still bleeding but she seemed to ignore it all of it. The pain, it was nothing compared to the void that was left in her heart after her mother gave in to despair absolute once more. The mother she had known had died, along with the pain that had occurred that day. At first she was sad, she couldn’t have even handled it, then someone said something that forced her to change her perspective, which was why she slowly continued.
“ If You are only good at fighting, I Am only good for destruction, I was meant to be a seed to sew despair in this world, but I choose to go against the grain, my mother broke our agreement, she sunk into the depths of her bloodied dream. She died in my eyes, She died back then along with the compassion for me in her heart. War is impending on the horizon, it is inevitable as the sun seeks the moon, eternal partners that can never be together again, my dreams of a soft happiness broke to shreds that day, but you know what?”
Magnolia said her voice rising as she softly had turned her head to face the man who had said he was only good for fighting. Her lips and mask parting as she softly had seemed to have reassessed and calmed down, yet deep in her eyes, her soul was blazing, alight for the first time, like a being which had been rekindled from the ashes from the depths of hell. From the monster which had gripped it in the eternal nightmare for so long that it had forgotten what the depths of the sun actually looked like.
”I know my purpose, and for that I need to be stronger. I used to think the world was dull, a drab place with nothing in it, no one in it I could ever come to love. These thoughts made me a weak sad little woman. . . Unable to even understand simple concepts. However For them I need to become much . . much stronger, strong enough to be able to help stop despair from actually spreading. There has been so much pain, and I am partially to blame for it. “
Her lips parted as she slowly allowed her breathing to settle down for a moment. Then she continued. . .
“ If you think fighting is inevitable, then why not help towards stopping the fighting from continuing? If you think that’s all your good at , let me show you that you have more to offer in this world than mere fighting and melodrama , that there is more to this world than that. I may be one person, but I will change this world even if a little bit, and if I must die to do so, then so be it. So , do you want to be someone who only fights because he perceives he is good at it.. Or..?”
She paused.
” Do you want to use that strength for a gentler purpose, to protect rather than to senselessly fight?”
She finished waiting for his response.
