Outside the Golden Coast Empty Outside the Golden Coast

So much had happened, being named the next leader. Such a big weight to take upon one’s shoulders, this burden was something massive. Tsubasa couldn’t take this on lightly, however it was something that was needed. Being named the next leader, the one to guide the Shinigami to the direction they needed to go. The one to seize the hope, his skills weren’t clean enough yet in his mind. The fight with Nami had far too many interruptions. People came in left and right, he just needed space and a good fight at this point. Tsubasa learned much from Nami though, she may not have realized the lesson’s she passed down as a swordsman. His learning skills were quicker than anyone else she’d met he wagered and next time she’d see the fruits of it perhaps. This task Damien left him was big and it was a favor to a teacher whom taught him without realizing it. He’d promised to fight and kill the Demon Queen at first, it was simply a contract. But now it has evolved into something, perhaps bigger than he’d ever anticipated. This had become not just been a contract, it had been a huge growth for him. Accepting the pain and the past finally burying the hatchet that he once carried for killing her. The pain was no more and he’d done what was needed, his emotions were stable finally.

This had guided him to the route he was now at thanks to the man known as Damien.
It was almost frightening to think about it, so much weighed on his moves now. Though that was the purpose he wouldn’t mistake his path and they knew it. Tsubasa was clear in his actions and he slowly stood up now, drawing Byakko from its sheath with a hiss the sun glimmered on his body. As he became but a shadow in the beam of the sunlight, he began to perform it. Moving his sword down in a singular cut motion slowly, he seemed to be measuring the movements and moving forward. As the blade came down he stopped and turned it left within an instant, his control being shown slowly. As he continued to be a shadow in the sunlight, his projection danced with him. Those who saw could picture a man fighting many enemies as they watched something became clear. Tsubasa swung his Zanpakutō with such control that he could stop at a moment’s notice and change direction. His silhouette of blonde hair could barely be seen within the suns warm glow. His crimson eyes focused and set on the path now, he seemed to be striking with purpose. As though battle the demons within one last time, one last spar alone.

The future brought a destiny something he couldn’t do any longer. His only friend had been Nis and he’d stood alone all this time still. He could only believe in himself and that was all he could do. He didn’t have the capability to heavily put his faith into others. But now he had to trust them, put his faith and strength in their hands. Tsubasa had to learn to trust in others this day and he would put his faith in Ibiki. She was a strong capable woman who could defeat the enemy before them. That was the faith he would have in her, Nis could do it so could she. Tsubasa’s body moved like water perhaps almost more so fluid than that. His blade swings were gentle and yet held a power that was mysterious. Each gentle stroke of this swordplay dance in the sun’s gleam had been him striking his doubts. Tsubasa did his best thinking in the moments like these. Thinking about the future and where he would improve, jobs like his were important. He needed to fight them and show the world that he was capable of the great things expected. However important thoughts of what needed to be done to keep hope for the Gotei 13. That demonic woman was correct; hope was fleeting and something easily taken. Would his strength be used for a temporary solution? No that wasn’t the answer, something long term must be done about it. There simply isn’t a way to make use of a situation.

That ends within a couple years; Tsubasa’s body stopped and remained still now for a moment. What if an alliance meeting was held to show the leaders? One to let the people know they would work for the best interest of those around him. Tsubasa’s frame stopped and stared off into the water as the sun gleamed across its surface. The color shimmering was something beautiful one could respect, his crimson eyes held it as such. Shinigami stood with him; they couldn’t let him be anymore after all. He was now the Head Captain of the Gotei 13. The Leader that they so long wanted, most would be damned if anything would happen to him. Tsubasa’s promotion would be done more officially once they were back in the Gotei 13. But the announcement had opened doors the stabilization would be much easier now. Doing it as just a Captain would have been harder, but as the Head Captain he could do it. Without taking one thousand more years, his gaze stayed fixated on the ocean for now. Casting a huge shadow that really spoke volumes of the situation the Enigmatic Shinigami had landed himself into, quietly and peacefully he observed the horizon.

Outside the Golden Coast Empty Re: Outside the Golden Coast

A lot had happened to Sagumi in the past twenty four hours and none of it was especially pleasant. He had been shot at, forced to incapacitate three humans and almost kill another, all to run in to the object of his millenia long hatred...and then be forced to retreat. It wasn’t that he was scared or lacked confidence in his abilities, but there was simply too much information to process, too many variables to account for, too many reasons to stop. He couldn’t be sure, but he knew that the little blue haired girl at least rivaled him in terms of raw energy capacity and the one who came late outstripped him, but by how much he was ignorant to. Energy sensing was handily his weakness and gauging an opponent’s strength, at least based on their amount of energy, was something that he had always struggled with and struggled mightily. He didn’t have enough information on just what Shisome was, or just what Lilium was in this plane or just what puppets she had accrued for her cause. Until he had all this information it was not wise to pursue her, to stomach her presence. The situation did leave him incredibly unsatisfied however...restless. He didn’t really get a chance to fight before doing the logical thing and leaving the area and while Sagumi did indeed fashion himself as more of a scholar of combat than a bonafide warrior, he did crave combat and excitement, he did love the thrill of engagement. Not receiving either had been disappointing and indeed left him considerably on edge.

It was then, on route to Melbourne and dodging the numerous, he believed the young girl referred to them as Iramasha, that littered the path between Wollowalladoogleberry and, if his rudimentary knowledge of the map was accurate, something they referred to as the Golden Coast. It was a name Sagumi’s rather twisted mind found amusing, the R.Kelly Golden Shower scandals of the past still being rather fresh in his colossal memory. Of course, many of the spiritual beings didn’t follow human culture as closely as he did from before the myriad of wars and conflicts brought the planet in to the current, sad, miserable state that it was in. It was at that time, perhaps conveniently, that Sagumi noticed Tsubasa. The man possessed a monstrous amount of spiritual pressure, even Sagumi wouldn’t be able to miss that. He could still feel Nozomi, she was safe, and Sagumi was curious. Nozomi would be fine without him for just a little bit longer. Sagumi gave a curt nod to Shify, instructing the anthropomorphic Red Panda to continue on to Melbourne and the creature, not all that appreciatively, nodded in return and continued on their current course as Sagumi veered off, heading toward the monstrous presence he felt.

Sagumi landed deftly behind Tsubasa as he was slicing his sword through the air. Sagumi could appreciate the way he moved, in a lot of ways it was similar to his own movements. Not quite the same level of absurd elegance that six thousand years of martial arts experience tended to lend, but his movements were by no means unrefined and elegance and fluidity only accounted for so much, a younger creature with that much control was sincerely interesting to the human however. It would seem his curiosity would be rewarded and in an interesting fashion as well as he let the silence permeate for a few moments, letting the gravitas of the man’s situation fully be the focus. Sagumi did not know what was on the man’s mind, he wasn’t a mind reader, but he could tell that something profound had happened to the man. He could at least read metaphorical symbols well enough to compensate for the inability to read minds. Sagumi found a nice boulder, perfect for a seat, at the foot of a nearby tree, gracefully landing on the top of the boulder with his legs pulled to his chest, feet resting on the stone as his hands press against the back of the stone, relaxing in a rather odd posture as he quietly watches the man for a few more moments before speaking up.

“Ten out of ten, would watch again, could probably do with less brooding though. It makes you seem super serious and dry. A smile really does wonders for your complexion.”

It wasn’t that he was specifically trying to bait or goad the man, though that was an outcome he didn’t remotely mind, but that was simply what Sagumi was like. He poked, he prodded, he annoyed while he looked for the buttons to push on people. A wide, playful grin played across his face as his eyes burrowed into Tsubasa, the intensity of his gaze probably betraying the levity that would otherwise permeate from him. While he was not one to typically search for meaningless fights, he almost hoped he did goad him in to aggression. Sagumi wanted to see if the man’s form and grace only applied to theatrics or if they could serve any practical purpose. He was relatively sure they could, but he couldn’t help himself from wanting to find out just how strong this random encounter would prove to be, especially because this was one of the greatest fonts of Reiatsu he had ever felt. Sagumi wasn’t very good at differentiating the races, but he assumed it was a Shinigami or at least a Vizard. Oh yes, this would be quite amusing.

Tsubasa's next movement was a flawless transition turning and bringing the sword into a reverse position while turning to hold the gaze of the male Sagumi had arrived. His crimson gaze stared with a stare like most murderers that few had. "Perfect.." He slowly brought the sword in front of him, this was the perfect chance. This man seemed capable and perhaps as a warrior he would learn. Strength was needed, Tsubasa had to advance to a new level and fighting method. Moments like this, they were rare and almost never came. Warriors didn't cross paths often, not true ones who walked the path. Tsubasa had fought for ages and only a couple had the feeling of Sagumi. The feeling wasn't something common it was his skill to detect things out of place. This guy was something else, much older than appearance would suggest he suspected. His body and the muscle definition would indicate a style of combat that was different from most. That was perfect, Tsubasa had used strange moves himself to showcase the controlled swordplay and grace he used. Their was a secret to these movements that his enemy didn't know just yet. Tsubasa gave the sword a single sword stroke and a slicing blast traveled at Sagumi. Introductions weren't required for this, they would simply dual. Tsubasa wasn't one for it, his position as a Captain was obvious. The White haori designated him as such a being who walked among the Captains. But this man before him couldn't imagine the truth, this wasn't just a Captain. Not anymore, this was the next Captain Commander. His last act as the Captain of Squad 12. Tsubasa Unabara would engage and battle with the man Sagumi.A swordsman would battle this day, he slowly brought the blade back into a regular stance returning to a normal form.

The attack was designed to test the skill level of the warrior, he wished to see how he fought. Would he dodge, perhaps he would counter it and smack it away with some interesting method. Testing one's enemy was part of the tactical style that Tsubasa used. He'd not even tapped into the monstrous amount of energy lying within the depths of his being. Tsubasa had only done what was needed to ascertain the strength Sagumi had. His body the way he stood everything about the man told him that their was a monster inside him. Did he know the name of this man no, he only knew a warrior when he saw one. Tsubasa Unabara the murderer of men, would fight one last dual on his own behalf. His promise to Ibiki on his mind, they both had promises to keep. He'd given his word he would overcome Yamamoto and bring balance. He'd worked himself to the bone doing it, Tsubasa's eyes of crimson could kill almost if one looked at them.

They gave off an aura almost, though this was only part of the power his clan had. Tsubasa had traveled a road few others could walk. His sword could only grow after all, becoming strong was all part of the destiny for him. He wished to be a great warrior and he'd done as much as he could. Turning himself into a fine swordsman but a level remained just out of reach. Here against the mysterious man he would finally bridge that gap and grab hold of it. The time was now and the last opponent for him was this man.

His expression, while not necessarily expected, was by no means foreign to Sagumi. He had lived a very, very long time, a point that couldn’t be stressed enough, and he had seen that face on many people. The cold, hardened, ruthless stare of a killer, it was one he had donned on multiple occasions and it was by no means a deterrent to Sagumi’s carefree, almost oblivious mannerisms. The man wasn’t fond of pointless violence, but he could tell by the look in his new acquaintance’s eyes that he wasn’t giving Sagumi a choice and as he leveled his sword around to him, a soft sigh escaped the red maned man’s lips. As was stated before, he could use the workout however and the look in the man’s eyes was rarely positioned upon weaklings. Maybe Sagumi would get to have some fun with this after all. As the man swung his sword, quickly swiping it at Sagumi’s position and sending what Sagumi assumed was some form of reiatsu induced blast, a red translucent barrier erected in front of the oblivious man, his body barely even acknowledging that an attack was thrown as the blast crashed against the barrier and would be stopped in its tracks and would probably dissipate soon after. Provided it did as such, the barrier would follow it. Sagumi knew earnest killing intent when he saw it and if this man was earnestly trying to do him in, he would have put considerably more effort in to it. As the blast would collide with his projected trigger shield, Sagumi would, in a rather cavalier fashion, hop to his feet and tenderly brush the dirt from his backside, the words he spoke demonstrated just how playfully he was approaching the situation in direct contrast to his counterpart’s severity.

“Swords huh? Can’t say that’s my preferred choice. Well you’re a shinigami I suppose I should have expected. Though I thought the white dress meant you were a captain of dead people. I didn’t realize that impulsive violence was part of their regime. Oh well, when life gives you lemons as they say.”

As he spoke, Sagumi reached to his side and drew his weapon, a rather tame and uninteresting Wakizashi if appearances were to be believed. Sagumi, in part, did not like this. He wasn’t affected much by the aura his opponent gave off, he wasn’t the first serial killer Sagumi had squared off against, but Sagumi wasn’t sure he had ever faced off against one quite like this. If this man started earnestly going for his throat it would turn in to a genuine kill or be killed situation for the Chi Human and that was simply something he was simply not enthusiastic about. It’s not a matter of a moral high ground or anything silly like that, but there was indeed a war going on literally around them, there had been more than enough loss of life...or Sagumi supposed in the case of most of these creatures and unlife, but regardless wanton bloodshed was not something Sagumi embraced wholeheartedly. If this man equally embraced the intellectual aspects of fighting, knowing the difference between a “duel” a one on one bout of violence and “dual” which was the adverb form of duo and effectively means “two,” would be a good step but so far he couldn’t be sure his opponent shared that sort of search for knowledge rather than brute force and power. So far, given his mannerisms, it didn’t seem like that was the case. Perhaps Sagumi should just go for the kill outright, try to finish this as quickly as possible. He did have a date with Nozomi to get to after all. Yes, that was the course of action, no more playing.

With a quick motion, Sagumi’s sword in a downward arc before him, the tip smashing into the ground in the process. As the metal touched the earth, Sagumi’s chi was channeled through the blade and into the ground before darting toward Tsubasa’s feet at a blinding speed. Once reaching its destination, it would generate an explosive, shattering the ground he was standing on and, if the man was standing directly above the epicenter, knocking him into the air. Regardless of whether or not Sagumi’s attack connected, a Geppo would be initiated and Sagumi would shoot forward and into the air, sword raised above his head as he would appear directly above wherever Tsubasa was before violently throwing his sword down and toward the crown of his head. Sagumi was not going to play around, despite his earlier mannerisms because despite effective immortality, dying was still rather painful and he’d rather not endure it earlier than he would eventually have to.

Tsubasa calmly observed his enemies motions, if this man didn't care for sword play he was a very confident man to pull out a blade. Tsubasa watched now, calmly observing the slash was a great distance away. Clearly another long range attack, interesting this man could do it as well. So they could trade shots at a distance for a while but it wouldn't solve anything. Tsubasa used a shunpo and moved himself safely away from the explosion of chi energy that was created. It was time to go a bit further with his sword play, Tsubasa stepped forward with his right foot. Pivoting on it to move forward he brought his sword down at a low angle getting ready to judge his enemies speed. The man seemed to have a body for proper sparing like this, a battle of this nature wasn't to the death obviously. He would of released his sword and fought in earnest if that was the case. But this was for learning, Tsubasa wanted a chance to work on his sword play. Something he never got to do at all he brought the sword up. Going for a horizontal slash at the male's mid section, though this wasn't absolute. Tsubasa could change his sword's motion and redirect the location of the blade as desired. This would in turn allow him a great deal of control with his weapon. Tsubasa and the Unabara practiced insane sword moves, things that defined the logic of most men. His was simply he could change direction and change the speed of his slash. But he needed to make this his own, something had to change for him to accept the title. The title of Head Captain, he needed to grow. His focus had to become more than it was he needed to be able to focus to the point he could cut the largest blasts into nothing.

Tsubasa had to become a leader, someone they could depend on for the future. The burden he bared wasn't a light one but that didn't show in his sword. His eyes weren't desperate, but if one looked it was clear what he was doing. He was learning trying to find the points to improve his game to become a better swordsman than anyone else. Fighting Sagumi would provide it, he was the only being he'd met thus far older than him. He had to have knowledge, Tsubasa was betting here and hoping at the same time. That this man could provide him with a glimpse of the future. Tsubasa had to become more, he needed to step up his game and perhaps this battle would let him do it. Would he win or lose, that wasn't a matter to him. Tsubasa wanted to learn it didn't matter if he won or lost those were irrelevant. Getting stronger was important, it was the most important thing for him at this moment. To complete that which he'd forgotten, to accept his place. Tsubaki was dead and it was his fault.

Even if he never could forgive himself, he had to move on and become the Captain Commander. To become the leader they needed, Tsubasa had a duty to uphold and for that. He would accept it, he would accept the fate he was given. The first man to surpass Yamamoto would be him. He would be the first Shinigami to surpass that man and become the greatest among their order. That was his goal, Tsubasa didn't settle for tiny expectations that few others could do. He made his goal and would shoot for it without hesitation, his blade would guide him and whatever came of it. He would succeed for that was the path he had, success was the only option. Failure was not one he would accept, Tsubasa seemed to have a fire burning in him that few others did. He was confident and seemed certain of the path he walked. Murderers like him were rare, but it wasn't wrong what he did. He murdered people because it was what he had to do. There had been no other choice, this battle between he and this man was his choice. One of the first one's he had made in a long time. For once it was his choice and no one else's, this was his decision.

Outside the Golden Coast Empty Re: Outside the Golden Coast

It was strange, Sagumi was feeling an odd mix of disappointment and...boredom. Tsubasa was a strong opponent, Sagumi knew he was a strong opponent, but he wasn’t being a strong opponent. Despite what he or the gods above may think, Sagumi and Tsubasa were not friends, this was not a friendly spar. Leaders were not forged through friendly shadow boxing, leaders were forged through blood and hardship, leaders were forged when they were pushed to the edge and had no option but to push back. If this man wanted to be the leader he claimed to be, if he wanted to blossom the shinigami in to something other than irrelevant sacks of shit, if he wanted to accomplish anything, he needed to start treating Sagumi as an enemy and he needed to stop holding himself back. Sagumi was almost insulted by the air the man was giving off. Sagumi didn’t want a spar, you didn’t learn anything from a spar at their age. He’d entertain him for now, he’d play along with their Laussez-faire approach to the severity of the issue, but Sagumi was not going to pull punches. They could learn from each other, they could test each other out, but Sagumi would not be satisfied with this, not for long.

When confronted with a stronger and/or faster opposing force, as Sagumi was now, simply trying to out maneuver or out muscle them is obviously ineffective. If Sagumi tried to pit solely his speed and strength against this man’s, he would lose, you didn’t live hundreds of lifetimes filled with combat without being able to gauge an opponent’s strength, but Sagumi didn’t need to try and match his opponent pound for pound. If you can’t beat an opponent in strength and speed, you need to attack their mind. Sagumi had no hope of landing in a blow in any straightforward manner, that situation however, the best way to secure an opening is to force your target to make decisions, specifically make decisions he does not want to make. To force him to keep reacting until, finally, he reacts himself firmly into a corner and then that, was when you struck. He already made his first decision.

As the man shunpo’d away from Sagumi’s initial attack, the man’s body has quickly followed before being positioned above him with his sword aiming directly down at his crown. Normally, this would be an absolutely horrible idea, Sagumi had left himself so fascinatingly open it wouldn’t be ridiculous for Tsubasa to expect some kind of foul play or misdirection, Sagumi certainly was the type for it, but what Sagumi was banking on was Tsubasa never quite seeing powers like his before. Tsubasa’s attack would connect and for a brief moment it would look as if he had actually hit Sagumi, before the man’s body would go up in a puff of smoke. Where Sagumi was previously in the air would find Tsubasa’s sword striking the boulder Sagumi had been sitting on prior, the weight of the stone now pressing down on the man’s blade. The second the switch was made, Sagumi’s now crouched form would press his feet against the large tree backdrop and kick himself forward, initiating his Geppo and rocketing himself forward. Not a split second after the rock would fall on Tsubasa’s sword, Sagumi would reappear in his sight, along the ground and below his weapon. The next decision Sagumi would make for him. The human was not one for swordplay, that doesn’t mean he couldn’t do it, he could, he had spent years honing the art, but when personal preference and comfort were involved, it really wasn’t his thing. If Sagumi needed to use a weapon he preferred a staff or spear, but there was one thing a sword offered that those weapons could not, synergy with his hand to hand. Sagumi was not looking to land strikes with his blade, especially not against a more accomplished sword fighting like Tsubasa, instead he simply wanted to use his blade to remove his opponent’s from the equation, if only momentarily. As he appeared below him, Sagumi quickly and powerfully swung his sword up, not aiming for Tsubasa, but aiming for his sword as it was forced to react to the weight of the boulder. Assuming he was successful, the force of his blow would at the very least delay Tsubasa’s movements as he reacted to the shock as Sagumi swung his left leg around, toe pointed inward and landed behind where Tsubasa’s right foot was resting previously.

If the man was versed at all in Human Martial Arts, he would distinctly notice it as the stepping method of Baguazhang. Sagumi utilized this most basic of techniques to try and circle around to Tsubasa’s backside as he was attempting to deal with both the sudden replacement and Sagumi’s sword strike aiming to pincer his sword. Simultaneously as the man’s sword withdrew from his previous strike, his empty hand shot out, aimed for lower back of Tsubasa, palm open and outstretched. If Sagumi’s palm strike landed, the initial concussive force would be felt, but a large surge of kinetic chi would flow from the man’s palm and violently force itself into Tsubasa. The difference in magnitude would feel like a gigantic sledgehammer was striking his back rather than a palm and if it connected, Tsubasa would be ejected from the area, knocked back violently and feel considerably worse for the wear, but not permanently or even seriously injured. As the palm stike was thrown, a single word would be uttered from Sagumi:

“Ichisotenshu.”

Regardless of whether or not the man’s attack landed, his weight would shift to his front foot before he quickly kicked off, jumping backward and putting sufficient distance between him and Tsubasa to prevent any form of reprisal. They’d enjoy their song and dance for now, but soon, Sagumi would want to get serious, it wasn’t often he fought someone who he could cut loose around and not instantly obliterate them where they stood.

Tsubasa heard the echo in his mind what was he doing this wasn't him no this was a child. Tsubasa couldn't do it this way and he wouldn't accept it any further. His focus went up as he began to focus even more. On the distance around his body judging his enemies position and calculating. Byakko's voice rang in his ears the tiger spoke. [i]"This isn't you Tsubasa, release your fangs and show him truth..this play ground crap has never been you..do not change for you are desired as you are.." Tsubasa's eyes glowed red as he moved his sword to the side of the boulder with split second timing a crimson murderous aura appeared around him, he was done playing the child's game. Tsubasa didn't to change not an ounce and he understood it now. This man just being an enemy was helping him understand he could sense the boredom and could tell himself this wasn't his kind of battle. The feeling in the air become murderous as the deadly intent could feel as though a man was being stabbed. Tsubasa didn't understand Sagumi's powers and that was truth but he'd fought long enough to know when something was up. Curving his sword around the boulder was simple control and using his focus and intuition to tell him when to do so. Rather than striking it his blade went around the rock as he let the murderous intent out in the open full. A crimson aura covered his body, he intended to fight now as a Unabara. Could he read this man's movements not quite he'd not fought him long enough to get a feel for the rhythm the man was utilizing. His sword was low when Sagumi came to step back into range having it right there and ready to strike as he waited, Tsubasa had a trick of his own.

He wouldn't be able to exchange with him perfectly as he blocked the sword strike with his blade using the sword now and locking up his. But he did something unexpected now while he was far from Sagumi's level he could do one thing. Tsubasa was trained to a level where he could exchange with Sagumi in hand to hand. Thankfully he'd fought a fighter who used the stepping method previously and had enough foresight to understand what the position meant. Focusing on the blow and where it was going he shift his weight aiming a blow that would be larger than one would expect. Tsubasa couldn't dodge the blow of Sagumi perfectly like he wanted. He couldn't focus in on all the things at once not yet, he was getting closer and could feel his own growth coming slowly. But he had enough power to launch a blow at the exact moment Sagumi launched his. Tsubasa's kinetic blow was aimed at the lower rib cage of the side Sagumi lead with. The blow was aimed at an angle which would make it extremely hard to see.

If Tsubasa missed even by an inch impact would still occur with kinetic energy strong enough to knock Sagumi back. Tsubasa did one last thing to ensure the trade when Sagumi went into the stepping method he stepped the foot forward slightly closing the distance only a little giving him more space to let the attack loose. He'd managed to read slightly what he needed to do as he got knocked back. Sagumi's blow landed but on his left side he flew backwards a bit as his glowing eyes remained on the male. His body ached from the exchange, the blow striking him had knocked him away several meters. What he'd managed to do though had brought the damage down slightly, not by a great margin however. Tsubasa had lined his arm with kinetic energy and enough force to knock back Sagumi if he landed it. His eyes never left the enemy, trying to make sure his blow had struck. Managing to launch a blow of his own and get the correct distance for an attack landing at the same time was hard.

But only time would tell, Tsubasa had seen something there. Something around himself calculations figuring out what the length of his sword was. His senses felt stronger, but how could he use them better that exchange could of gone towards Sagumi more he suspected. But if his blow struck they were on equal grounds, he was learning something here. Only time would tell what it was, Tsubasa straightened himself despite the pain to his body, his mind tried to figure where the blow had struck as the nanobots got to work on fixing damaged tissue and muscle. The lesson had begun in earnest as his eyes stared at Sagumi directly with the murderous glow still lit.

About fifty percent of what had just transpired had gone according to plan. There are two ways to get through an opponent’s defense. You can either slip through it and ignore it, or you can destroy it. Sagumi, in essence, went with the latter. Tsubasa’s defense at that moment was his sword, Sagumi removed the sword from being able to deflect him and utilized such a simple strategy to terrifying effect. He effectively pinned his sword and went for a vital area and he connected on that attack and usually, that is all Sagumi really needed to secure a victory. At least, it would be on ninety five percent of the population of this dimension. As his hand made contact with his opponent’s shirt, a small seal would form on Tsubasa’s back. The seal itself was virtually undetectable, given that Sagumi connected with his opponent’s back and the only sense by which it was detectable was sight. Short of having eyes in the back of his head, Tsubasa would have no way to notice the seal that had been placed on his back. At least no way that Sagumi could think of was available to him. That was his first step toward a decisive victory.

The other fifty percent that did not go according to plan, was Tsubasa’s reaction. If Sagumi was not a complete master of his own body, he might have been completely shattered. The other surprise was the technique he used, it was Sagumi’s shffl. Of course, Tsubasa probably did not call it that, Sagumi wasn’t even sure he called it anything. People in this world were not as focused on arbitrarily naming things as they were in Sagumi’s home. They named everything in the universe Sagumi came from, simple spinning kicks even were given grandiose names. Here, they stick to naming actually relevant things. Sagumi would need to react and act very quickly to this and he could only barely do as such. The man activated his wavedash, his feet hovering slightly off the ground as his hand made contact with his opponent and his free hand was snapping around. Independent of his muscles, the man started rotating away from the incoming fist, utilizing his Go No Sen, Sagumi lessened the impact on the side of his face as his opponent’s fist connected before he was launched far away, a noticeable red mark left in its wake.

Sagumi was not finished however, using the momentum generated from being backhandedly punched in the cheek, Sagumi, continued spinning, the full three hundred and sixty degrees, letting his Go No Sen steal his opponent’s force and send it right back at him. As he was finishing his spin, Sagumi’s palm balled into a fist and exploded outward, throwing the full momentum of his spinning body behind his fist. This was when the third ability would come to light, the Sumashuu Kenpo. Using the gigantic force he had accumulated, the sheer weight of his blow exploded from the tip of his fist in to a massive concussive torrent straight behind the flying Tsubasa and quickly catching up on him and threatening to overtake him and deliver a further torrent of pain. Sagumi quickly dug his sword into the ground to halt his rotation, coming to a stop and nursing what would later become a rather impressive bruise on his face, or at least it would if he did not have access to his Vindeca. He might keep it though, perhaps being wounded would earn him some sympathy sex from Nozomi. If only she shared a fraction of his libido she would absolutely be the perfect woman. Perhaps that frigidness actually did make her the perfect woman. Sagumi might get bored if he got his own way all the time.

Thinking about actually getting to have sex with his wife didn’t actually mean he was bored with this altercation, far from it. He had not thought he’d ever meet someone with similar abilities to his and so far, this man had demonstrated the same energy control and physical combat ability that Sagumi had self-claimed dominion over. He had faced challenges before, but they were always his style versus another’s radically different combat form. This was the first time he had ever met an equal, or perhaps even a superior, in terms stylistic skill. He was genuinely excited for this. If he did not have such experience and such a reservoir of techniques to fall back on, he wasn’t even sure he would have a chance here. This was a wonderful battle of youthful energy versus experience and Sagumi could not be happier at this turn of events. He might even be pushed into awakening, wouldn’t that be fun.

Tsubasa noticed the move coming at him as he flew away, but he had a trick up his sleeve Tsubasa used his power now releasing a huge kinetic blast with his sword counter acting the attack sent at him as he flew. He regained his composure after a moment and something would become clear to Sagumi, though Sagumi had dealt damage to Tsubasa he did while building up alot of static electricity, a costly move in truth. Tsubasa generates a high amount of static electricity naturally and fighting in close quarters like that had generated a bit. He snapped his fingers causing it to explode around Sagumi now, Tsubasa was still holding back for the most part. But he saw no reason to do so any further, the warm ups were done. Simple sparing as he knew now wouldn't cut it. His reiatsu was unleashed with the murderous aura he had, letting his enemy know he was going to go for it. Tsubasa did something only his clan was capable of doing. He seemed to rush forward to attack Sagumi at a high speed but it was only a decoy really, it could do some damage if not blocked. But not a ton of damage, this was one of his families secret moves. Tsubasa using it meant he was serious about fighting the male finally. Lighting formed around his sword now as his reiatsu came out sending lighting everywhere, it was an intense feeling. Tsubasa was starting to fight in earnest at least in his sealed state. He decided that it was time to fight this as a true battle, perhaps he would release shikai soon enough. Sagumi wanted to test the prowess of him well that was something he could do. Using the decoy as a chance looking for the opening he would take it if he saw it. Tsubasa planned to handle this situation seriously from here on.

Using the explosion as a mean to create the double, the amount of energy he put out would make hard if not impossible to tell which was real. Truth be told with that and the murderous intent coming from him. Tsubasa wasn't angry by any means, he seemed calm as though this was his normal attitude on things. The blood lust though was thick, more so than a Demon could match in a thousand life times. Something about him showed that he was ready to handle this matter without holding anything back. This was something of respect now, few men could use moves like this and he deserved some respect for being older than Tsubasa. He imagined that Sagumi was a capable fighter who deserved to see Tsubasa's Zanjutsu for what it was. The total package that it was, he waited till after the reaction for the Decoy. Watching the movement Sagumi made with no pause in his step he took a shunpo forward. Deciding to use something a bit more devious, Tsubasa fought in perfect harmony with his Zanpakutō, so creating this step was the purpose. He came right in front of Sagumi but was prepared to withdraw in an instant, he was fighting the battle the way he should. He would attempt to learn while he fought, but something seemed clear. When he stood still things seemed easier to focus in on, he couldn't put a finger on why though. Everything seemed to slow down and he could almost reach out and touch it. Something was close, he was getting closer to finding the answer.

Fighting Sagumi had him growing closer and in the next move he'd have even more to show for it. He was seeing things at a slower rate when he focused, but it wasn't important right now was it? Tsubasa could tell something was going on, he could see things much clearer than before was it this warrior? Did he draw this out of him perhaps, it was hard to say truly. Tsubasa could only guess as to what the case was for this, his eyes of crimson focused on new levels as he grew stronger. His focus was growing more as the fight continued, watching Sagumi's movements understanding the focus it took. The Murderer was learning something new and amazing right in the midst of a grand battle.

Sagumi had faced a power like this before, in the other world, though this one was decidedly a different element. The previous encounter involved a shinobi who used friction to immolate his victims, seemingly out of nowhere. It was a fascinating adventure in not so spontaneous combustion, but once the science behind his application of chakra was discovered, dissecting the attack was not difficult. It was a similar situation here. As he watched Tsubasa mimic the kinetic force that Sagumi had hurled at him, canceling their dual blasts out, he noticed, perhaps too late, just what the man was doing in the meantime. Sagumi felt the residual reiatsu playing upon the really quite small static electricity he had gathered around himself, two rotations wasn’t going to be a world shattering explosion, and as the man snapped his fingers, a flurry of sparky combustion detonated around him, Sagumi only barely managing to curl into a ball and protect his vitals from the explosion as the heat burned and seared his flesh. Sagumi was, despite his rather vicarious disposition to women, a creature of self-control and not a sound escaped him as pain pulsed through his body. His mind was always on one target, one objective, and now, it was fueled by an emotion Tsubasa did not have, anger. It was not so much that he was angry at Tsubasa, oh no, this was a fight he engaged on his own volition and getting hit was a part of that process, hitting him was Tsubasa’s job, anger could not be directed at him. It could be directed at himself for allowing his own injury, however, and it made him all that more determined to retaliate in kind.

The damage he had sustained was mostly cosmetic, painful, but not debilitating and Sagumi’s full range of techniques and movements were still readily available to him and his Vindeca would eventually catch up, mending the the burns he had littering his body. Sagumi watched quietly as the dust settled around him and a second Tsubasa, or perhaps it was the original, was running straight at him. It was true, Sagumi had no way of differentiating which Tsubasa was the real one. It was also true that he really didn’t need to. The reality of the situation was that the clone, the decoy, was just that. It was generated through energy, and while he could replicate his own energy and make the pair completely indiscernible through that, he could not replicate Sagumi’s technique. Sagumi would not need to know which Tsubasa was the real one, he would only need to activate the seal he placed on the original and it would take him straight to the one he wanted, straight to the actual prize. In a metaphor Tsubasa would no doubt appreciate, Sagumi was the lightning bolt and the mark on Tsubasa’s back was his lightning rod. Sagumi stayed still motionless as one Tsubasa encroached upon him and right when the moment was perfect, Sagumi set into motion many a thing. A spear would instantly materialize in his free hand, a handy mechanic for the weapon to have, and just as the clone finished closing in, Sagumi would no longer be where he was. Instantly, truly instantly, Sagumi would move from his crouched position on the ground to holding a crouched position on Tsubasa’s back, his feet pressing against his seal. Quickly, almost immediately, after Sagumi would thrust both of his weapons down and hopefully through Tsubasa’s calves. Burrowing his weapons, his sword and spear, through the man’s muscles and bones and further driving them into the ground. Ideally pinning Tsubasa to the Earth. In immediate succession and with a sense of grace that made everything look like a dance, Sagumi pushed his hands against the butts of his weapons, twisting and contorting his body to spin on the weapons like a multi-based top. As he spun, he would aim for driving his knee straight into the meat of Tsubasa’s spine. This knee strike was far from ordinary however. Should the tip of the knee connect, a massive, absolutely massive, amount of kinetic energy would be roughly forced into Tsubasa’s back. Enough force to absolutely shatter a building would be flung directly into the man’s backside while Sagumi’s hands firmly held his weapons into ground.

If all went as planned, Sagumi’s strike would forcibly rip the top half of Tsubasa’s body away from his legs right below the knees, as Sagumi firmly kept his weapons planted in the ground to suitably tear his upper body clean off. If the man followed normal Shinigami conventions, a successful attack here would end his life, he’d bleed out after the arteries were successfully severed, but Sagumi was expecting something different here. This man wasn’t the usual affair for the death gods. If he was, Sagumi would not be having so much fun. Sagumi was very much going for killing blows against this opponent, anything else would be insulting, but he knew that even if everything went according to plan, he still hand much, much more work to do if he was actually going to kill this man, he was not going to be put down by something so trivial like ripping his legs off or his spine snapped in half. At the very least, Sagumi hoped that was the case, it’d be pretty boring if Tsubasa could not avoid or come back from this, though given the quickness and immediacy of what should have been a completely unforeseen attack, Sagumi was more inclined to believe the latter as more likely.
