Angel NEETs Employment.

"Come on, Aki!" Aso explained, lithely running up the steps until he reached the top of the large staircase. They were on their way to have Aki meet Kabuto Iramasha, one of the leaders of the Angels, and one of the biggest paperwork keepers in the entire Island's political structure. "I'm sure he'll have a great position for you!" He smiled at her, before turning round, and knocking on the great doors.
Within, there was only one being. The beings name was Kabuto. Kabuto Iramasha. He was the only one in the office today, as the other Angels were out doing what angels did, which was a lot of Angel-related business. Honestly, Kabuto thought tat they were just a punch of slackers, but hey, he was here to do his job so he did it. Without warning, however, something knocked on his door. His gaze went upwards as he began to walk, before finally reaching the door, opening it wide and looking out of it. "Well hello there. My name is Kabuto Iramasha. I've not seen your face before, small Angel." He said, looking at Aki. "Is there something you need of me?"

Aki raced up the stairs after Aso, trying to keep up with him as much as she could. However, while she had been training her mind and emotions, Aso had trained his physical body, and there was no way she could match his strength. When she finally managed to make it up the stairs Aso had already knocked, and gasping for her breath she waited for whoever was on the other side to open the door. Her blue eyes looked anxiously at the door as she waited, and then it opened. She listened to all he said before replying with a calm, smiling face.
“Hello Kabuto, my name is Aki. Well, you see, yesterday I returned from a four hundred year…”
She cut off, shooting a begging look at Aso, hoping he would understand. Well, if he didn’t get the message, she would look back at Kabuto, sighing before she continued.
“Well, a four hundred year absence. I was lucky enough to meet Aso when I arrived, and he’s been helping me out. Anyways, I don’t feel right just sitting around while everyone else is busy, and when I talked to Aso he suggested that I visit you. Well, more like he brought me here, but I’m glad he did. I would have gotten lost for sure.”
Giggling, Aki then walked over to Aso, wrapping her arm around his shoulder as she waited for Kabuto to reply to what she had said.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
"Of course it is. Are YOU going to question beholder's artistic sense?"

"Well, nice to meet you, Miss… Aki." Kabuto said, as suddenly the eyes beneath his glasses flashed and sparked, and what looked like numbers began to move past them rapidly, and it no longer looked like he was looking at them. "Ah yes. There you are in the database. Plant abilities, wasn't it? You vanished from the radar after some kind of incident…" He spoke out loud, his eyes looking back at Aki once again after he did so. "Good man." He said simply, nodding to Aso.
"Well, that's probably the right decision. At the moment, I'm the best person for you to talk to…" He drifted off for a moment as he watched the two of them, in that embrace, his trail of speech lost for a moment as a memory rose, unbidden, remembering his own wife. … He was only lost for a moment, before he immediately began where he had left off. "About that." He said, turning around, looking up at the inside of the mansion.
"Well then, come inside. Don't let me hold you. First, I'm going to need you to complete a brief interview, and then I'll designate you to where you can be of the most help." He explained to her, holding out his right hand to indicate a couch, sitting in a chair opposite it. Aso sat down on the couch so that Aki could sit next to hima nd not lose her grip as well as look at Kabuto in the eye. "First. I need to know all of your skills and abilities, leave out nothing. Second, I want you to tell me what you think of yourself as a purpose. Third, I want you to tell me why you desired to come back to the island. Finally, I want you to tell me what your intents are with that young male there." He said simply, looking over at Aso, who looked taken aback for a moment, before listening closely once again. "The last one is purely personal, though the others are all business-related." He told her simply, resting on his two hands which made a bridge under his chin, his eyes gazing at the two of them as on his face was a lazy smile.
He knew very well that she probably wouldn't take to that line of questioning very well. However, he was trying to be as professional about this as possible; although the last question there was no way he could help. He remembered his own wife, and what had happened with her. [i}There is no possible way I'm allowing that tragedy to repeat itself, ever.[/i] He thought to himself, looking at Aki straight in the eyes through the top of his glasses, listening to her answer intently, trying to decide for himself what to do about it, all the data about the current available positions already bidden to the fore-front of his cyber mind, his brain whirring at an unimaginable pace as he awaited for more information…

“W-what??”
Aki sputtered after listening to his last question, and then pondered for a minute.
“Just a few questions first, do you need to know about all of my abilities, or all abilities that I can use? Second, why did you ask about Aso?”
Aki’s first question may have seemed slightly odd, but it wasn’t. She was trying to get away with a technicality, hoping the man would fall for it. If the man only wanted to see her abilities, she wouldn’t have to show him the abilities granted by Quora Tomaka, and thus be able to continue hiding the fact that she contained a psychic symbiont. However, his question about Aso seemed odd to her, why would it matter what her intentions with him were? She decided to answer the other two questions first though, hoping that maybe things would turn out alright that way.
“About what I think my purpose is in life, I believe it is to help people. No, nothing more than that from what I know. However, I do not feel that I was meant to sit idly by, waiting for something to happen. As to why I returned…”
She cut off with a loud groan, as a tiny yellowish sprite seemed to appear on top of her head, then flutter down on to her lap. One of the wings was damaged, partially torn off. It looked completely real, however, Aki knew it was just an illusion though. Looking at it in frustration, she opened her mouth, speaking to it rather than them.
“Why… I told you not to do this; I told you a million times on our way to this island, so why did you disobey me now?”
The sprite opened its mouth, seeming to speak animatedly to Aki, but no sound escaped its lips. It was an illusion after all; the sounds were going directly to her mind.
“They have a right to know??? You… how much do you even know about these people??? You’ve never been here until yesterday, how could you possibly know anything about them??”
The sprite opened its mouth again, and Aki laid her head in her palms as it talked, looking at it when it was finally finished.
“Please… just please listen to me and go back. I’ll have to explain it eventually to them, it’ll get done. Also, stop spying on people’s feelings, it isn’t nice you know.”
The sprite looked upset, and then flickered before disappearing entirely as Aki lay there with her head in her hands. That little bugger was a pain sometimes, but she had never expected this from it. How would the two of them react, it was a thought that scared Aki.

"I believe you heard me quite completely." He said simply, listening to her. "Abilities that you can use, please." He asked of her, before hearing her question. "I asked because as an Angel Iramasha my wife died painfully during her "job" when I asked her not to. I want to know if you would take the feelings of someone who cares for you and step all over them for your 'job'." He said bitterly, breathing out and then in. "Because more likely than not he cares a great deal about you and when he asks you to listen to him I want to make sure that you will listen to him." He told her simply, before reaching a hand behind his head and stretching.
"That purpose is a good one, and will take you far." He told her, before blinking and raising an eyelid as something appeared from her head. What… is that? "A Ziamichi spirit, is it? At least, it seems that way from the disharmony; promptly noted." He informed her with a smile, relaxing in his chair as he thought. "Alright, give me a few minutes. I would like to have some time to think about this." He informed the pair of them, before getting up and walking out of the room.
"...S-Sorry!" Aso exclaimed, looking embarrassed. "I had no idea that he would do… that… " He would explain, reaching up and scratching the side of his chin softly, looking rather confused and almost like a teddy bear that someone would want to hug, totally innocent, before he sighed. "He's right though… I'm not sure what I would do if I found out you died like that. I'd probably flip out…" He explained softly, looking back up at her. "Especially considering how I'm supposed to be a shield of protection. People I care about around me aren't supposed to die. I'm supposed to save them…" He explained, his soulful eyes staring directly into hers.

Aki looked up at the man, a confused look on her face at what he called Quora Tomaka.
“Ziamichi spirit? What’s that?”
Then the man left and Aso started talking to her, seemingly apologizing to her. Why should he, it wasn’t his fault what had happened. More interestingly, why had Quora Tomaka disobeyed her order to stay hidden? It had always done exactly what she told it to except in life endangering situations. Looking up at Aso she smiled, shaking her head.
“Don’t apologize, you didn’t do anything wrong. Aso, everything depends on what I end up assigned to do. For all we know I could be sitting in an infirmary making my herbal remedies all day. Those things are powerful, but they don’t specifically need me to administer them. All in all fighting isn’t something that I wish to do, but I want to help and protect people. How can I sit around while you’re protecting this island?”
Sighing she leaned back on the couch as she raised her arm before her, looking at it. After a moment of inspecting it she let it fall down next to her, then started talking to seemingly thin air.
“Qoura Tomaka, sorry about before, can you come out now? I never did get to properly introduce the two of you, can you connect to everyone who enters this room as well as Aso?”
The little sprite flickered back in to place on Aki’s lap, and this time Aso could here its voice as it spoke, coming through the being’s telepathy. When Kabuto came back in he would also be able to her the soft, squeeky voice of the thing.
“I keep telling you Aki, you need to stop being so secretive about me. These people care about you, unlike the gotei they wouldn’t throw you out because of it. If you continue like this you’ll be too afraid of using what I’ve taught you, fearing that someone might find out about me. You might even get yourself killed when you otherwise would have survived. Or you could end up letting other’s die when you could have saved them if you had use my powers.”
Turning towards Aso, the sprite’s lips curled in to a smirk, taking a minute to look him over before speaking.
“So, this is the lover boy who invaded my home before… well, how do you do? My name is Quora Tomaka, and as it seems my landlord is in love you I guess I won’t be blowing your brains up. Have a nice day.”
Aki gasped, then glared down at the little thing. Under her angry gaze Quora Tomaka just looked up and shrugged its tiny shoulders.
“What? I just interpreted your emotional state from your mind, it isn’t like I stole in to the mind of that Kabuto person and gathered all the information he had…”
Sighing, Aki just shook her head and took a moment before replying.
“You shouldn’t just go telling what’s in other people’s minds to someone. Whatever, what’s done is done.”

...The Elite Guard's the only place with an open position, hmm…? The being known as Kabuto sighed to himself, looking through the data one more time, one finger touching his lips as he thought to himself. I think it'll be good for her. She seems rather on edge, and really seems to need someone to guide her, at least partially… He thought to himself, his eyes gazing upwards and around, deciding to give them a moment.
"So this is the thing in your mind…" Aso whispered to himself as he saw the sprite appear, listening to what it had to say, looking over at her. ...What's Aki so afraid of…? Certainly she could tell most people and they would understand; unless there's some other problem…? He wondered to himself, a worried expression on his face as he watched her, before the sprite turned over to him, smiling in not such a nice way.
"Lover boy? I guess it's better than body snatcher, anyway." He said simply in reply, smiling back at the pixie, listening to his name. "I'm just going to call you Maka then." He said simply, before being cut off, turning his gaze over to Aki. "…" He was silent for a few moments, watching her carefully, before tilting his head. So he can invade minds…? Sneaky little… He concluded in his mind, before looking up at Aki's eyes again.
"Is that true, Aki?" He asked her simply, directly, completely ignoring the little sprite. "Do you really think of me in that way?" He asked her, blushing slightly as he remembered the kisses they had exchanged the last few days. Truth be told, Aso had liked them quite a lot, but he wasn't sure what exactly they had meant. Now, however, he was going to see if indeed they meant something more than he had imagined before…
Meanwhile, before the doorway, a figure was resting, his eyes gazing up at the ceiling. Ah, young love… Hope there story ends better than that of our own, eh, Marni? Kabuto thought sadly to himself, his eyes still looking down at the ground as the glasses on his face hid his eyes from anyone's view, his breath totally silenced, his energy completely repressed, undetectable. After all, Kabuto was a ninja, never mind any of the other details about him, and this was one of his most basic skills, one which he enjoyed using to the greatest effect..

Aki giggled at Aso’s nickname for the little sprite, then blushes as he asked her about her feelings. Taking a deep breath and looking directly in to his eyes, she decided to be truthful with him, hoping that things turned out well.
“Yes Aso, it’s true, I love you. I… I didn’t expect you to find out like this… During the first year of my absence, there were many times I came within inches of dying… it was only hope that I would be able to meet you again that kept me going at times. I… I’ve missed you so much Aso!”
With her final words she flung herself towards him, hugging him tightly as she kissed him on his lips. She couldn’t help it anymore, her previously restrained feelings for him just came pouring out as if someone had yanked open the flood gates in her mind. Giggling, the sprite jumped on to the back of the couch, his mouth moving as his voice floated over the telepathy to all of them, including Kabuto who was standing in the doorway.
“So your dead wife’s name was Marni, how lovely. You really should learn to watch your thoughts, especially now that I’m around. I mean, I live in her mind for a reason, I’m a psychic being. Sheesh…”
Shaking its head at the man’s stupidity, Quora Tomaka just sat there for a moment, and then giggled at the sight of Aki and Aso.
“Alright you two, I think that’s enough, shouldn’t we be thinking about what Kabuto has to say? Come on you two, pull yourselves together. Well, unless Kabuto wants to give his decisions to the mind eating psychic being, though I think he’d probably want to get as far from me as he can at this point.”
Looking over at Kabuto, the sprite’s eyes twinkled mischievously. It seemed that Quora Tomaka was very willing to be open about its existence, yet Aki was still worried. She knew just how extensive Quora Tomaka’s abilities were, and she was afraid people might fear her because the little sprite could delve in to someone’s mind and find out their deepest, darkest secrets if it wanted to. If someone strong enough shielded their mind from it they would be capable of blocking Quora Tomaka out, but how many of the iramasha could possibly have mastered psychic abilities, it was likely there wouldn’t be even a handle of people adept at it, let alone masters.

"….Well…"
He muttered softly, before suddenly she was upon him, and forced him back, his breath taken away, his body stunned for a moment before wrapping back around her, returning her kiss with as much intensity. He had realized that he really did care for her, and that he'd placed that care at the back of his mind, trying to bury it down under a layer of indifference to keep him from having to face it. However, now it was all out in the open as the two of them embraced, his hands moving with a rhythm on her back, enjoying it…
In my head are you, demon? The voice known as Kabuto whispered in his own thoughts, before his eyebrows intensified on his forehead. Say one more word about Marni and I will destroy you. He said simply, as suddenly without warning purple hands, made out of the same material that the demon was, grabbed him, entwining around him as it turned into a cage, as the tendril of power that the demon had used to get into his head returned back to him, grabbing him and yanking him into the cage that Kabuto had erected. You really should be careful of whose mind you trespass… He said simply, before turning his body around, appearing in the doorway before walking in, his trailing white cloak flowing behind him as he entered.
"My mind does more than think. It's cybernetic; your trespassing was only in the conscious part. There are thousands of mechaninations running through it the likes of which you could only imagine. I keep a consciousness open at all times for myself, however, so that I may think as a normal being." Kabuto explained, his eyes looking into the cage. "I'm thinking extractment at this point; unless someone learns how to behave himself, he'll surely die. Or, if he keeps running his mouth, he'll end up in a little soul-gem, used for power for all eterniity and unable to die." Kabuto explained cheerily to the little imp, before standing up, looking over at Aso. "Look alive, man." He told him, as Aso was dragged out of his daze and focused on the male again.
"I'm going to submit your registration to the Iramasha Guard. Do well there and I have no doubt in my mind that you could ascend to the position of Elite Guardswoman, specializing in assisting others. Or, if we require a medical heir or leader, you would be able to fulfill there. Or if you are diligent of the politics and maintain your manners, you could even become a member of the council or a diplomatic figure." He explained all at once to her, the information just flowing from his mouht. Kabuto loved information; this was the easiest part of the job to him, and it made him rather glad.
...We'll talk about.. That later… at home… alright…? Aso thought to Aki, opening an Iramasha Sync channel to send it to her, added to the fact that Maka was in a mental bondage and she wold hopefully receive the message just for herself. ...An imp, though… that may be frustrating… Maybe I should make speech shields… that'd be fun… He thought completely to himself, almost wishing the imp WOULD read his thoughts and fear the schematics that already Aso's brain were turning out…

Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.

As the psychic energy turned back towards Maka, it pushed harder, trying to match Kabuto’s mental strength. However, it was only managing to delay things, but it couldn’t let Kabuto succeed. Maka knew of the consequences of trying to separate itself from Aki, and Maka wouldn’t let that happen. Still able to talk through the connection, Maka yelled at him, trying to get him to understand.
“Idiot, are you trying to kill Aki?!?! Don’t do something that you don’t know the consequences of!”
A feel of protective rage flew over Maka, and with it Maka managed to push back and stabilize the telepathy channel.
“Calm down, it’s only telepathy. I only get surface thoughts; I don’t know what happened in your past. As for extracting me, you’ll end up killing Aki, at best she might survive in an eternal coma. Perhaps next time ask me about something before acting on assumptions.”
With that it looked grumpily at Kabuto, ready to cut the connection to him if necessary. Having missed what Aso said to Aki, and now too preoccupied with Kabuto so it would miss Aki’s response as well.
Alright, sure thing Aso… I can usually get Maka out of the way, but I do need it if I want to connect to more than one person.
Looking up at Kabuto, she tried to apologize for Quora Tomaka’s behavior.
“I’m really sorry about Maka, I really am trying to instill some manners in the little bugger. However, it seems Maka hasn’t had much contact with beings besides those that have hosted it. However, what it said is true. At this point, my mind and Maka are so intertwined that if you tried to take it out of me you would end up ripping out my psyche completely with it. The results would range from instant death to permanent coma. Well, if you can induce a miracle maaaybe I would survive, but even that isn’t a one hundred percent chance of happening. Anyway, thank you for your help, it is much appreciated.”
Aki rose, the telepathic links terminating as the illusion of Maka jumped from the couch on to her shoulder, pretending to ride on it. She waited for Aso before taking his hand and preparing to leave, it had been one really long day for her.
