Dual Point of View [ Tento | Rei ]

Ah, the days in new peace were still quite hectic. Tento thought that he had his hands full with the duty of battle. But this was all beyond that, perhaps it was the aftercare and careful social politics of reconstruction of Africa, or maybe it was because he suddenly became the 5th seat of his division after being the 10th seat for so long. There were more duties on his shoulders now, new and old. The frequency of them changed the most if anything at all. He was in and out of the division grounds, not a new matter given that the man liked to visit other divisions and places of the soul society. But as of late, it was due to professional matters in an overwhelming percentage. It was like there was no end to where help was needed. And the Gotei United was still on lock down!!!

War may be over but tension was high all the same. Some mornings he swore he worked up more of a sweat doing work than working out, even training seemed to do little in bringing stress down. The ebony Shinigami led out an exasperated sigh as he pushed through and handed off another set of paperwork to be delivered. Even with occasional luck with having someone to help out lesser pieces of the workload, everything felt like it kept on moving and building. That was paperwork for yeah. But the formal relationship with other divisions were quite tense as well. The 4th division was known as the rowdy type but now there had been ruckus from them and another division. As much as Tento stayed out of it due to choice, as well as a bit of luck, the timing was a bit lucky given it was after all of this trouble in the world of the living.

But hey hey hey, that was a matter for another day and time. That prick in his foot would have to be addressed when it was appropriate. For now, he was here in the 8th division again, trying to drop off some more paperwork and hoping to get help with something.

Tento waved and greeted members of the 8th division once again today a few passing waves, a few short minutes of conversation to check up on people here and there. But not the person he was searching for though. Standing quietly in the division compound, Tento thought thought thought, gathering himself quietly. That thing may need some assistance, but probably not or even a lot. Paperwork was his focus for now, just needed to…

“Hm?”, he said hearing a voice call out. Curious as to the person that was reaching out to him this time. “Ah, hi there Rei. Nothing much just looking for someone so I can drop some papers off”, he said with a soft friendly smile of his own bringing the bound pile of papers up to tap against his pinky finger.

“Just got done with a workout I see. Been keeping up with the stuff I showed you?”. Tento said showing no sign of issue with how she was addressing him. This was not a serious matter anyway, and Tento found no need to start that way given he was not in a meeting. “Is there something that I can help you with?”.

Finding no direction answer to his question he would only tilt his head slightly to the left side. By all appearances it was pretty clear that she had come back from working out, but he was curious about how she was doing with her workouts. Internally he would just shrug his shoulders and drop the questions. But ah, she was trying to catch a good time to offer that. Rei probably was hungry too after working out. With how busy he was moving with stuff today he was working up an appetite. However, he wouldn't say he was hungry quite yet. He would have loved to get a bite and check out Rei's cooking skills. But he could not let himself act like a slacker when it came to his duties as a seated officer.

“Sorry, I would love to accept that offer Rei, but now is not quite a good time. Maybe at the end of the day when I finish dropping all this paperwork off? Not sure if I got to take care of another thing today or not too”, Tento said in a sad rebuttal to Rei’s offer. He would then shift his left leg up, rubbing it in a scratch to his right leg before putting it back down.

Given the amount of time that he had been in this division, he really should know the layout better and where to find people. Rei’s presence was a lucky thing then maybe. “Hey Rei, do you know where any of your seated officers are?”.

Being a seated officer had a lot to deal with. Directing fellow officers, dealing with the wishes and influence from the Vice Captain and Captain. Paperwork and higher exceptions af success. For Tento there was a bit of another duty. Moral of their division and development. Seated officers had to be aware about how the general population of their team were doing. It was their duty to be aware of personal dynamics, place people in where they could succeed while also challenging them to improve, and to keep spirits up. Those things were big on his mind and although he felt there were big shows he often has not grown fully in, it was something he wanted to do. He loved spending time with his division and seeing them be themselves. With enough time anyone could grow to be worthy of a seated position if they worked for it.

He would let a friendly smile come onto his face as he heard Rei speak. “Thank you, I haven't eaten yet today so I will definitely like to take you up on that. If you really don't mind waiting a bit”. He said wanting to make sure he was not being a bother. The friendly bet did not have to be an inconvenience after all. Rei had to take care of her nutrients after a workout after all. “If you are feeling very hungry after your workout you can go eat now though. We can eat later some other time”.

He would then listen to the directions. From what he knew of Rangiku's reputation was a long standing member of the gotei, someone who was a vice in the time of the gotei 13 and had been through many wars and trials. And…one hell of a look. As one who would always love to see someone who had been in the gotei so long, among other reasons. It would probably be better not to go to the vice captain, for just dropping papers off that any seated officer could get, taking up her time was not necessary.

Following Rei's leading gesture, Tento would go see 3rd seat Asahina. Knocking on her door before entering when told to do so. He would do a formal respect bow before talking. “Hello again 3rd seat Asahina, I hope you have been well. I just need to drop these papers off to you and also get your signature here”. With a bit of time business was done and Tento would give a thankful bow.
