Alright, basically, this thread is trying to figure out how you all feel about the power structure, characters and anything that has to do with abilities on the site. After speaking with alot of people in the xat, I'm not really sure where to even go with this whole power thing.

On the one hand? I really like everything that we've done up until this point when it comes to crafting powers. There is extreme freedom, not many restrictions and you basically just have to add balance, drawbacks, cooldowns and limits if you want very strong power, form, technique or whatever else that relates to abilities on the site.

However, on the same side, I've heard some people really get stressed over it, some disliked it and others felt the need to really keep up. Not to mention some of the dickwaving that has occurred apparently. So, I wanted to figure out a way to ease these sort of tensions by possibly lowering the powerlevels a bit, but then others had also liked the system we had up until this point.

I genuinely just want everyone to have fun, be happy and not feel any sort of difficulty in making characters or powers on this site. So I want to ask everyone how they feel about powerlevels, power scales and other power related things on Platinum Hearts.

I personally think things are fine the way they are. As long as there are drawbacks, cooldowns, etc. then the power won't be too much, and EVERYONE can make their super strong character if they work hard.

IF anything needs to be watched, it is the dickwaving. THAT is what really stresses people out. I think if restrictions are put, and they are too much, all it will do is kill some of the fun that I came here for.

There are two ways to balance any game and forum roleplays aren't especially different. You can either balance through restriction and keep everyone mired in limitations and force them to make more happen with less. The alternative, is to offer the capacity for everyone to be overpowered so that no one is. We've obviously been working with the latter model and it honestly works just fine. It doesn't need changing outside of a few spot fixes to certain abilities (farting and being able to level cities being the main offender apparently).

im pretty much okay with everything and i think dick waving has caused a lot of the paranoia. one the thing im wondering about is the range of some attacks tho. since i don't really know what would be the best max and minimum distance for an attack. what i want is a improving character which is what i'm doing, who power will grow, hadn't had any issues with that. one other thing im wondering is what really is the maximum for the strength a power can reach. such as when is something really too much as if something is made stronger should it's weakness be also stronger? other then this i'm fine . forgive me if i have said anything stupid or obvious in this.

I like it how it is really. I think its a realy net way of doing things. the freedom is unlimited allowing full creativity as long your willing to make equal drawbacks. ^.^ yes some pople may do a little "dickwaving" but really i think that to is kinda part of the fun it makes things unpredictable.

No matter how powerful people are, the broken parts are the powers that cannot be stopped or matched in any way. If you have an unforeseeable attack, I find that broken. If you have the ability to control minds or bodies without any effort, I find that broken. It's broken for the same reason metagaming is bad, and that's my opinion.

I feel peoples worries about powers just a big tank of Paranoia that we all need to get over. I personally dislike it when people tell me they have attacks that will decimate over 100 miles of land and I deliberately make sure I cant do that. The numbers could use with a tweaking though. if anybody would ever be capable of going 'lol-boom' they would have to be in their final form doing their last resort attack with high chance of committing suicide.

My advice: App checking should be harder on the 'big' powers. Make sure there is a definite drawback.

Okay, hun, I don't think you all should change a single thing about how the power structure of this site is set-up. I'm not sure who has been complaining about how our system is set-up, but I'm in love with the immense freedom you have on this site. I believe people should realize a few things...

1. Don't be an idiot when making power. If you read everything on the site, such as that Power Guide and Rules, you'll be able to easily figure out where you should gauge your powers for a place like Platinum Hearts. Seriously, all you have to fucking do is make sure you add a limit, drawback or some sort of cooldown to otherwise balance out the power. Who can't fucking grasp this fact, darling?

2. WE AREN'T LIKE OTHER BLEACH SITES AND WE WANT TO BE LIKE OTHER BLEACH SITES THAT FAILED DUE TO LIMITING EVERYTHING! Really, a large part of what kept me here was the amount of freedom this place had. Every other Bleach site I've joined up until this point has been a nazi about the creation process. So, if it's worked until this point, why bother changing it?

So, sugar, all you really need to do is make sure people understand some of these concepts, shove their heads in the sites rules/guides and possibly display how far some powers should we really go.

Yo, I voted ''I love it'' but I wish there was a different option.
Something like ''Nigga, I'mma cut your punk ass if ya bitch about'em'' or something. Either case my thoughts? Powers are fine, it's just how the people work with them. So keep'em, and as long as peeps don't make city leveling farts of doom, we should be fine. After all, I don't think we'd survive with Akemi's gas tbh.
