• Appearance Description:

Shiho appears to be a young man in his early 20's, despite being well over a hundred and fifty years old. He has very gentle facial features, and doesn't look like he'd ever hurt even a fly. He has thin eyebrows, though not in the "I just drew mine on with a pencil" form that some creepy people have, and more in the "I just have naturally thin eyebrows" way. Shiho's hair is rather long, the very extents of it reaching to slightly below his waist, and is a deep black in color, as well as rather wild and uncontrolled, with various parts of his hair pointing in different directions than the rest of the hair. Shiho's eyes are rather interesting, not in their color, which is a light blue-ish green, but in the markings on the eyes. On each eye is the usual black pupil, except there is also one more thing: the biohazard symbol. Yes, on each eye in bright lime green is the well-known symbol that represents something dangerous to people, which hints at his powers. His garb consists of a nothing-extraordinary long sleeve black shirt with a high collar, and pretty normal black pants. Whenever Shiho activates his acid powers, his skin appears to take on a slightly green-ish tone, which only gets more apparent as more acid is used. Also, Shiho wears a pair of black gloves that covers his entire hands, wrists, and a small portion of his lower fore arms. These gloves don't work to protect him, but instead protect other people and objects from his extremely harmful touch.

• Personality:

Shiho has an extremely apathetic personality, dismissing any sort of emotion as pointless banter. After having his only friends brutally taken away through murder, he assumes carelessness to prevent future suffering. He almost always has a simple careless face, no matter what the reason. Shiho is extremely intellegent, more so than most of the other characters in the series. Because of this, he often passes the time with games of strategy involving riddles. His philosophy is focused on the fact that there exists no divine creator that is in complete control. Concluding this, there is no real purpose of action, and thus no truth to seek and uphold. Therefore, he will not hesitate to murder, lie, or commit any indecency under the knowledge that it is not wrong or right. This philosophy in turn allows him to be the judge of his own actions, deeming what is right and wrong using his own cultural and ethical presuppositions. He has a rather cynical and even misanthropic view of the world around him, but seems to only engage in belittlement of a person only when the said person has "prompted" it, as Shiho puts it. Despite this, while he is relatively taciturn, he occasionally squabbles with and insults his teammates, especially those ranked below him.

One of Shiho's pet peeves are those who call themselves or are called gods for any reason, considering it to be both pathetic and rather sad. When it comes to those people, Shiho will usually go out of his way, despite the consequences and repercussions, to at the very least injure them. A true god cannot bleed. Shiho's intelligence, however, is nearly unmatched within the thirteen court guard divisions. Not only is he a master of various strategical games, such as chess, but Shiho is an extremely proficient scientist, paving the way in various fields of study, as well as advancing through leaps and bounds. Shiho is specifically skilled in biochemical weaponry, having studied in this field for well over a century. His own powers actually aid in his research, especially when it comes to acid-based weaponry. He has also researched quite a bit in regards to Hollowfication, him now being one of the most knowledgeable people on this subject in the Gotei 13, if not the world.

In his own words, Shiho claims to be unaffected by any form of morals or ethics as he views them as mere restrictions on his potential. He is, therefore, willing to stop at nothing to further his selfish ambitions, including manipulating or killing anyone if he deems it to be necessary. Ideally, his most impressive feature coincides with his lack of guilt. He is truly an embodiment of deception and manipulation, as he has no bodily reflexes or moral guidlines that hinder him from lying. Such ideals carry into his way of fighting as well. He shows the same degree of ruthlessness to his foes, regardless of age or gender. In his eyes, only his goals are important and that, in his own words, among allies and enemies alike, nobody is promised to be safe from his ideals. Despite his usual indifferent behavior, Shiho is, as he puts it, "involuntarily stupid when around females." He seems to be unable to avoid flirtaciousness, and has been caught off-guard and weak-knee'd on more than one occasion. Even when maintaining apathy around them or ignoring his hormones, awkward scenarios seem to place him in uncomfortable positions. For this reason, Shiho is usually a recluse in his laboratory as he fears the worst possible situation: coming into contact with a female. Shiho also finds it difficult to engage in combat with females, but ironically, he has no problem killing them using alternative means. One of his hobbies is writing and reading poetry, with the Haiku being his favorite, though he is certainly open to other types and forms.

• History:

Shiho's history as a human was relatively simple, he grew up in an average home with an average family, went to an average school in an average city in an average state in the United States of America. Pretty average, eh? Yeah, that's the best word for it. Probably the most eventful point in his life was a pretty unlucky day in his late teens. His closest friends, James and Iris, along with himself, were all hanging out in a nearby bank while Shiho was withdrawing some some money from his account. Too bad a group of thugs decided to rob said bank on that particular day. Armed and dangerous, they were ready to kill anyone who tried to act like a hero. Which they did. Half way through the robbery, one of the criminals tried to grab Iris, but James jumped in the way and tried to fend him off, which just ended up in him getting a bullet to the chest, and Iris a bullet to the head. And guess who not only had to watch all of this go down, but was also sitting just a few feet away? Shiho. Shiho was sitting a good 3 feet away from all of this. This event is what would lead Shiho to develop his current personality as a Shinigami. Speaking of him as a Shinigami.

Years later, Shiho ended up dying due to a plane crash as he was traveling to Florida for vacation, which, you know, sucks. Well, anyway, after he died he ended up going to the great kingdom in the sky: Soul Society. Well, after a few years of just hanging around Seritei, Shiho became interested in becoming a Shinigami, so he ended up joining the Academy in order to get power and become a successful Shinigami. He was a natural, able to hurdle through the school in order to become a full-fledged Shinigami in just a couple of years. After which, he became the 8th seat for Squad 5, however he quickly requested a change for unknown reasons, and was then sent to Division 7. Just as before, he soon requested another squad change, and was then sent to Division 12, where he is now. After unlocking his Shikai, he was moved up to the 5th Seat of the Division due to increased power. Throughout the past 40 years, hes slowly been increasing in rank in his division, eventually reaching where he is now, Vice Captain of Division 12.

As Vice Captain of the Twelfth Division, Shiho has been doing various experiments on people for the past few years. Shiho is currently working on bio-chemical weaponry, as well as bio-weaponry in general, working on new possible inventions to aid Soul Society in it's wars against the demons and arrancar. As a matter of fact, Just recently Shiho has begun studying possible uses of artificial Arrancar, arrancar created for the sole use of war against their own kind. Stuck up in his lab for years, he may have come up with some interesting creations....

• Zanpakutô Spirit Appearance:


Shiho's Zanpakutō spirit appears to be very demonic-looking, and exudes a lime green aura that resembles Shiho's spiritual energy. Fushokusen has a blade in place of his right arm, and on his left hand, his fingers are like giant claws instead of skin and bone. Large black spikes protrude from "armor" on his shoulders, and he also has two large black horns that twist inwards and then outwards. All in all, Fushokusen appears to be a black and green demon instead of a spirit.

• Inner World: Shiho's inner world appears to be an inverted black and white-colored empty, desolate wasteland with multi-story tall spikes protruding from the ground.

• Sealed Zanpakutô Apperance :

In it's sealed state, Fushokusen appears to be a standard katana with a simple cross guard. The guard is bronze/gold, the hilt green, and the sheathe green as well, with various golden markings on it.

• Sealed Zanpakutô Abilities:

High Speed: While not his main trait, Shiho can keep up with swift enemies and allies. With Shiho's basic, raw speed alone, he has been known to easily ouytpace lower ranked members than himself in the Gotei 13, though equivalently ranked officers in division 2 tend to be slightly faster. Even against the naturally-proficient combatants of Division 11, Shiho is rather fast in comparison. He has at least some knowledge in Shunpo, being a Vice Captain of a Division in the Gotei, as well as having gone through the Shinigami Academy. His basic speed is high, being near captain level as he has trained himself to try and keep up with some of the Captains and faster Vice Captains in the Gotei 13.

Physical Strength: While not one to resort to using physical strength in order to fight opponents, Shiho has made sure to keep in optimum physical condition in case a situation warranted such combat. While he was a lower ranking member in squad 5 and 7, he would often train with Squad 11 members in order to make sure he could fight with brute force alone. Shiho has continued this since being promoted to Vice Captain, his schedule usually consisting of lab time taking up half his time, and the other half taken up by rigorous physical training and spares with division 11. Shiho is strong enough to easily slice straight through Gillian-class Menos Hollows, as well as being able to tear their masks apart with his bear hands.

Swordsmanship Skill: Shiho prides himself on his skill with the blade, able to match equivalents of his in the 11th Division, a squad that bases itself on offensive combat focused (usually) around swordsmanship. He has developed a style of combat that, while it can be aggressive, is mainly used for blocking and then parrying blows in order to gain the advantage during an opponents assault while not risking itself by attacking directly. Shiho is also rather skilled with the basics of iaido, being able to remove his weapon from it's sheath, slice straight through an opponent, and then resheathe his Zanpakutō in one fluid motion.

High Spiritual Pressure: Shiho can exude a green spiritual pressure capable of bringing unseated and low-seated Shinigami to their knees, and is said to inspire fear in those that can sense his approach. He has been known to cause lower members in his squad stomach issues and other sicknesses by releasing his full Spiritual Pressure, due to the nature of his powers. When releasing his full power, Shiho's spiritual pressure alone has been known to cause the local and surrounding environments to begin to smoke, and in some causes, can even corrode metals just by bearing near him.
