"You saw how she restrained the Kurosawa guys on her own. If she wanted, she could have blasted them no problem." Tsubine nodded. Kaminari was strong; though maybe not as strong as him. From what he remembered, she was a Kidō specialist, so as long as he stayed close, he'd win. Totally. As he continued to torment his student, Tsubine finished off the water. He almost spat it out with Kohaku's flustered reaction to the taunt. He thought about what Kohaku was saying and did spit out the water when Kohaku mimicked having Kaminari-sized breasts. The kid was good at making him laugh, that was for sure.

"You gotta realize, Kohaku, that I don't let many people see that part of me, and more importantly, I don't want Mayumi to feel embarrassed to cry. J's the type to be like 'crying's for sissies,' and I know some of our guys are too. So when it comes to that time, Mayumi and I spend that time alone. This was just... well, as a guy with cool hair once said, a 'happy little accident' that she was there."

Thinking again on what Kohaku said, something caught his attention. "Are you wanting to pay respects to Kanna? I mean, I can't blame you if you did, but I mean, it's a public cemetery. I can't exactly stop you from going."

Kohaku Okumura

Kohaku couldn’t help but laugh when he got Tsubine to laugh too. It always happened when he was stupid serious about something, and he never really got why, but whatever. “Yeah, well, J’s a jackass…” Kohaku said without thinking, but then held up a hand. “With all the respect I’m required to give… The man’s a jackass. He only comes to fight and get drunk, so the hell else am I supposed to think of the moocher?” Kohaku was not entirely aware of J's... status.

"Tch..." Kohaku looked away, both annoyed and saddened. "Like I'm going without permission. To hell that's happening." The young man stood up. "Besides, I was more thinking you might'a been datin' without me knowing. Woman who can go in there with you... Made an assumption, ya know? She's new to me, so... yeah."

J was... well, definitely an asshole. Tsubine conceded that point with a clenched jaw and a reluctant yet quick nod. He was glad that Kohaku didn't seem to agree with that point. Tsubine didn't trust men who didn't cry or admit they had emotions. That was part of why he and J had a... special friendship. They expressed their emotions and thoughts through the clashing of blades and the yells of strained muscles. It wasn't healthy, but it was what worked for them. Tsubine and Kohaku had a much more normal relationship thankfully. He stood and began stretching.

Tsubine chuckled hard. He tried to speak, then laughed again. Taking a deep breath, he finally managed to make words. "Kohaku... I didn't realize that your jealousy was towards Kaminari." He teased his student once more as he walked over and placed a hand on Kohaku's shoulder, almost like an older brother would. "We are not dating, don't worry. And no, I'm not seeing anyone else either. Though," Tsubine raised a hand to his chin, "most of the people I've met recently have been more buxom than brawny. So I guess I can understand the apprehension."

Kohaku Okumura

The fact was, Kohaku had a lot of envy… jealousy… whatever, toward anyone that showed up in Tsubine’s life that seemed closer. In some ways, Tsubine was like an older brother to the young man, so he hated it when things made it where they couldn’t hang out. Of course, when he tries to explain himself, he gets laughed at!

“Yeah, yeah…” Kohaku waved it off, standing and stretched himself. His legs still felt like they were made of lead. Kohaku looked over his shoulder at Tsubine with a curiously raised eyebrow. "What the fuck is buxom? Wait, is that like... butt and bosom, like tits? Yeah, girls with big buxom be comin' around a lot lately." That was, of course, met with a rather hearty laugh. "Boss has a way with the ladies. Maybe you can teach me sometime. You know I've never even had a date?"

Tsubine laughed again as Kohaku tried to define buxom. The kid would be a terrible comedian, but he'd be great as the guy who got pranked on those reality TV shows. Well, that was until Kohaku's own temper took hold. When Kohaku admitted he hadn't ever had a date, Tsubine was a bit surprised. He figured the kid didn't have much experience, but none whatsoever? That was rough. "If that's your way of asking me out, then you should know I don't swing that way." He held up a hand both to stop himself from laughing and to stop Kohaku from giving him more ammunition. "I kid, I kid."

"You're young, so I don't expect you to really understand. Going on dates is... a lot more involved than you may think. Some guys don't pay it a second thought, going on dates left and right. But guys like me? We take it seriously and slowly. I'd rather you be like me than those other guys. You just gotta find yourself someone that you seriously care about. I assume you don't have anyone like that, right?"

Kohaku’s face distorted to anger and redness set in. He was ready to snap back at Tsubine, but it was waved off as a joke. ‘Ain’t that funny, man. C’mon…’ Kohaku thought as he calmed himself down. He took the time to listen to what Tsubine said, but was confused by it. The hell dates so hard for? Just take a chick to a nice place, ask her a couple of questions and ta-da, full on relationship, right?

“Well, according to some people around here, you,” Kohaku shot Tsubine a straight face that lasted for a moment. “Muah, muah, mother fucker.” And then he busted out laughing himself. “Nah, I ain’t got no chick like that in my life. I’d… I’d like too, yeah, but don’t seem to be that way for me… One’s I know scared of me.”

Tsubine laughed along with Kohaku. He could snippy when he wanted, and Tsubine wanted to bring that out more. Sometimes sudden outbursts like Kohaku provided were just the distraction he needed in uncomfortable social situations. He didn't know how bad Kohaku's dating ineptitude extended (mostly because he was blinded by his own dating ineptitude). If he knew that, he'd have some (to him) excellent advice to give.

"Scared of you? What'd you do—jump down from the rafters at night screaming 'ooga booga?'" Tsubine motioned for Kohaku to sit down on the floor while he made his way back to the overturned punching bag. "Kid, sometimes it's just chance you meet the one you're meant for. Other times, you're blinded because they're someone you know closely but haven't thought of them in that way. But if you're doing things to scare them away, I can guarantee you won't find someone. So seriously, what did you do?"

Kohaku laughed at the ‘ooga booga’ shit Tsubine just threw his way, shaking his head at that. “Nah, I’m just an asshole,” he said jokingly... sorta.

Being motioned to sit on the floor, Kohaku dropped real fast. He could feel the pulsing in his legs lessen, knowing they were going to be sore as hell tonight. He listened to Tsubine, his head lowered a bit as he was asked that question. He sighed and rubbed his neck, “I wasn’t joking, actually… I can be a bit of an ass…”

“I just get so mad, so easily!” Kohaku said, that anger showing in his tone, but he calmed himself down quick. “It doesn’t help that this bastard in my head has no problem not shutting the fuck up at times… Only time he’s calm is when you’re around and shit, but that’s cause he knows he can’t do shit to you.”

Tsubine actually wanted to give Kohaku a hug. The kid needed one, but not from his mentor figure. The kid needed the kind of warm hug only a woman could give. The kind that made you forget your troubles for a brief moment—the kind that enabled bliss. Kohaku was young, and he had time to experience that for himself. Tsubine only hated that someone so young had to need that kind of hug. It was proof his work wasn't done.

"Part of why I push you so hard is so he ends up scared of you, you know." Tsubine let out a small chuckle, followed by an 'I'm too old for this' sigh. "I'm not going to be around forever, and you're not going to be my student forever. Eventually, you're going to have to deal with him yourself. But I don't think all of your temper comes from having him being in your head. You gotta figure out why you've got a short fuse. Once you figure that out, you'll be in a much better place." Tsubine cracked a smile. "And you'll get more ladies too."

Kohaku downed the rest of his water real quick and lightly tossed it at Tsubine’s head. “The fuck are you on about? You planning on goin’ soon or something? Stop talking like that. What the fuck…i’M nOt GoNnA bE aRoUnD fOrEvEr. Shut up, man…” Kohaku chose to ignore the rest of what Tsubine talked about. This temper wasn’t his fault; he blamed his inner hollow completely for that shit.

“You already know if Mayumi hears you talkin’ like that, she’ll freak out. Don’t go scaring the bra- kid…” There was an unspoken ‘anymore than you already have’ left in the air, but Kohaku’d never say that out loud. Kohaku laid back, sprawling over the dojo floor. “You get yourself a date first, then I’ll try to work on my own. If you can’t get one, then there ain’t no hope for the rest of us idiots out here.”
