Competitive: Alongside a love for the cold, there is a deep sense of passion and competitiveness in Kikoto. He always wants to try and do his best, push himself to the limits and being around others greatly bolsters this. Being around others gives him the motivation to do better, to try and outdo himself and the people around him, to break his limits and give him the chance to show off. While this might not always work out well for him and leave him disappointed, he still tries his best.

Passionate & Mildly Chuuni: In the things that he treasures, Kikoto is not shy to showcase these things. He shows a deep love for Kido and Hakuda, wanting to push himself to his limits and learn everything that there is to know about it. In addition, this also has led to him wanting to show off his knowledge of them by announcing his moves. He holds a great deal of pride and excitement in what he has passion for, and there is little that can stop him.

Love for the Cold: Something his parents always thought was odd for him was his fascination and comfort in cold climates. He keeps his room absurdly cold, even in winter time, and only occasionally dresses in winter gear. He doesn’t really remember where it came from, but for as long as he can remember, he has loved the cold. Yet he, for some reason, despises snow. He doesn’t really know where that came from, either.


A professional snowsports player in life, Kikoto aced in just about every category he went through, specializing in snowboarding and skiing. He held unbridled passion for it, and while he never won many awards, being able to perform on a level like that brought him untold amounts of joy. But, one day, during a competition, he and another competitor were buried under an avalanche, with neither of them surviving long enough for paramedics to get them out.

Awakening in the Soul Society with no memories of his former life, Kikoto was sent to a district close to the Seireitei in the Rukongai. Hearing stories of the Shinigami and their arts, the young man quickly found himself enthralled and signed up for the academy. Surprisingly, he found himself shining in his Hakuda and Kido classes, excelling in both.

He found himself adoring the flash and flair of the Shinigami arts, the power of Kido incantations, their names, and how stylish all of the Hakuda demonstrations were. He poured tremendous amounts of his free time looking into the depths of Hakuda and Kido, what all spells he could perform, the techniques available to him, and then, he found it: Shunko, a combination of KIdo and Hakuda. He didn’t have a lot of details about it, but it became a goal for him in the academy.

Alas, despite him being able to get a grasp of Hakuda and Kido better than some of his peers, it wasn’t enough for him to properly develop a Shunko before he graduated. Which was disappointing, but not something that would keep him down for long. Graduating and joining the Second Division, Kikoto’s desire to learn and master Shunko has not been tempered.


Tolerance for the Cold: Strangely, ever since childhood, Kikoto has loved cold temperatures. He hardly is affected by it, has kept his academy dorm cold, and rarely wears winter clothing during the appropriate time. To this end, this has led him to be able to resist up to a quarter of ice-based or cold-based effects from powers, Kido, and so on.

Kido & Hakuda: Two classes that he ended up loving and excelling in, Kikoto is fairly competent with spellcraft and hand-to-hand combat. He quickly learned the basics of manipulating his Reiryoku, an important aspect in both fields, and put hours into his practice, tirelessly working on trying to learn how to drive Kido into his arms and legs to a degree that would allow him to manifest a Shunko. Quite frankly, this is his primary goal when it comes to the Shinigami arts, and will take any opportunity to accelerate the process.
