2023 Q1 Event Thread of the Season Nominations
Wed Mar 01, 2023 10:20 am
EVENT THREAD OF THE SEASON
I. What's OTS?
Here, we go back over the last three months and pick out different finalists to discern who was the best of the season in certain categories. These nominations, in particular, are for December 2022, and January and February of 2023.
This particular OTS category is for the Event Thread of the Season. Nominate a thread which was specifically tied into one of this season's events (Seaside Fight Night and AfriCatastrophe) that you think deserves that extra degree of attention, be it for gripping narrative or electrifying action.
II. OTS Rules
1. Each member can only submit one nomination per category, so think hard on it.
2. Make sure you name the actual members relevant to your nomination.
3. Please include a link to your nomination.
4. DO NOT NOMINATE YOURSELF.
These nominations will close after 1 week!

It took me a minute to dance between who I wanted to choose since there have been some pretty fun bouts, and originally, I was gonna roll with Shaoling and Ely, but since I don't think that's ended yet, I'mma roll with the one that entertained me just as much. Now, lemme break down the funky flow. I feel that what makes a good combat thread isn't just the action, but the commentary as well, especially if the characters involved trade banter very well. To me, it makes their techniques or attacks that much momentous, and turns it into more than just your run-of-the mill combat thread. I felt a genuine mixture of humor and hype when reading this thread, and that's why I'm nominating it.

Africatastrophe: Letterboxer
I like to think that Africatastrophe was a very successful event. We got an opportunity for Gotei and Vandenreich characters to work together, many people responded well and every thread was successful, so on. I enjoy this thread for the characters interactions and I think that each character shined pretty well. My own gripe is that Lukas said it as shizer smh so points deducted there Snake but otherwise, nice.
Hopefully we can have more great event threads involving africatastrophe in the future.
