This lady was really not the welcoming type. Her words may be sweet. Her smile bright and soft, but her aura. Her spiritual pressures just...felt like it was always ready to kill. It was heavy...granted all of the caotains and vice captains felt that way to him. They were in a realm above the one Tento fumbled through after all. It came off weird though. A trying genuine feeling? Kinda...negative but not...heavy? He moat certainly didn't get a positive vibe but, neutral at least. He did had a building foundation of respect being cultivated though.

Taking her words though. It did feel a hit good though. Pride in hard work done, and the results. Lives protected and assignments succeeded. He had some fun too, those fights really got his blood flowing!! He remained silent as Captain Kane went through the formalities. Commendation Yada Yada Yada. Money. Yada Yada Yada. In one ear, catching it abit, then going out. His hand extended though to catch the medal. As a long thing of system this was, he was a man to still pay attention when someone was talking to him. A small item in his hand, he held it somewhat with pride. It was their division's symbol after all; their Shibantai. Oh....would it be too much to wear this?

He took a few steps back, filing by back i to place after giving a nod of thanks to his new captain. A few positive smiles and looks from his brothers and sisters in arms. A quick happy smirk coming to greet them such as Moe's radiating energy and Rio's disarming smile.

Safe to say the next words came with a big bang. A new member was one thing but to find out that she was getting promoted to vice captain. Sharing the rank, such a rare thing. He wondered how that would go? Wait a dang minute...who's the 3rd seat now. And the 4th...and the 5th? BAH! Too much thinking need more chill and relax. That speech did seem to set a stir up in the division. Mixed reception yes, but absolutely something that made noise!

CAPTAIN NAGOSHI KANAE

Kanae's cold and calculating gaze swept across the gathered Shinigami. She made mental notes of any looks of surprise or annoyance at her announcements. Some, apparently, were visibly confused by the apparent too-quick promotion of Rio Shihoin. Just kill the dissenters and be done with it, Kanae. Who's gonna miss a bunch of fodder anyway? As usual Kanae ignored the silent request from her Zanpakuto. She didn't want to ignore Tosatsusha, but if she let it take the driver's seat the following carnage would almost certainly result in her re-imprisonment or death. Not a future she wanted.

Instead, Kanae opted to push on with the meeting. "I expect all of you to work as front line soldiers, to the best of your ability. And the best of your ability needs to be better as well. There is no room for complacency in the Fourth, if you want an easy road this Division is not going to provide one. The expectation from here on out is all of you dedicating yourselves fully to becoming stronger. That said, strength comes in many forms. There is no narrow or specific vision of what it looks like. I expect all of you to find your strength, whatever it happens to be."

Kanae paused to give the Division a moment to digest her words. Whatever difficulties they were imagining, she was certain she would be able to make them worse. A thousand years ago any moment of any day could mean death for a Shinigami, it was just another fact of life. Sure Shinigami in modern times put their lives on the line as well, but considering all she had seen over the last few weeks Kanae had no doubt they didn't face the same struggles as their predecessors.

"In addition, starting today anybody in the Division will be allowed to challenge me to either solo or group combat. As a member of the Fourth I, too, am expected to uphold the squad's principles. Lastly, I am opening the floor to any questions you may have."

Still and emotionless. Thrrr was a small level of s shivering sensation on Tento's arms as he watched his new captain's eyes sweep over him and the rest of the fighting 4th. it was a bit amazing how her eyes could go from a heavy distantness to a pure cold thoughtful examination. If she cared to pay any attention to her tenth seat. She would not that his face and eyes held no surprise or annoyance. Therr was only interest and excitement. There was nothing really different from him; fighting against comrades of the 4th division in spars was a weekly thing for him. If not daily. Such an option would most likely only put a fire in some people; having an option to rise up the ranks if they thought they had the guts. And a spark within the higher ranks to protect their spot and only pass it on to the ones that wrre worthy to succeed them. Granted, it was a little lackluster in Tento's eyes. Losing a rank due to pure might was...a bit childish. Leaders had more to offer than just strength after all. A seat symbolized more than how hard you can punch or how fast your attacks would be.

Still...an excuse to fight wasn't bad a little bit in his eyes. There would be more friendly intensity. ...he hoped!!

Either way. The understanding that strength came un different ways was not lost. From her words it was clear that Captain Nagoshi knew that. How it looked, how it moved. How it breathed and fought. Granted, combat ability seemed still the top pick. ...1st generation Shinigami definitely. But for Tento...ehat...did that mean? Hr had no speciality. By this time he did have some advantages in martial skill. But overall the years that seemed to fall further. And further behind his comrades and opponents. Feeling himself fall equal in many ways and behind in others. There was nothing he could lean on.

When she gave her pause, finding a fire in him he gave a bow to their captain. Vowing to create something from himself. For himself starting this day. His style!! He then raised his hand, hoping to draw her attention. If addressed he would speak. "So. Captain, when can I schedule a training section with you then??", he said with a surfing level of excitement and wild confidence. No cockiness hy any means, but as a fighter of the 4th. One had to have some level of determination to train with their captain. Especially after witnessing their might from the sidelines in a Captain vs Captain level event. "Also...what exactly WAS it like when you were first around??".

CAPTAIN NAGOSHI KANAE

Kanae's violet eyes were drawn once again to the squad's Tenth Seat, who stepped forward and bowed quickly. Based on his following questions, as well as his proactive work in Africa, it was obvious to the Captain this Tento would be one of the Division's most ambitious members. His first inquiry was easy enough to answer, and so Kanae did "Just as soon as the question and answer segment of the meeting is finished, you can request a spar. As for your second question, a thousand years ago the Gotei Thirteen was a military force the likes of which I am certain the world has not seen since. Every single member from the highest ranked officers to the lowliest foot soldiers were born and raised in brutality. In war the Gotei was an unstoppable juggernaut with no fear of death."

Though her words were true, in her experience, Kanae resented every bit of the Gotei Thirteen. Powerful though it was, it grew weak and complacent after solidifying peace in Soul Society. As she walked through Seireitei over the past few weeks, she had no doubt it was this complacence responsible for the state of Soul Society today. Yet as another member of her Division pushed to the front and unabashedly challenged her, perhaps, Kanae thought, there are some who could be molded into killers after all.

As the pink-haired pixie declared her wanting to become strong, Kanae observed her spiritual presence. Even with a Zanpakuto almost as big as herself, this diminutive woman was nothing to write home about spiritually. Yet she was ready to challenge a woman who had just defeated her Captain in single combat. Interesting.

"You and Tenth Seat Zefā can work out whether you want to challenge me together or separate. The rest of the Division is dismissed if there are no other questions."

As Tento listened and waited for his serious none serious joke question to be answered by Captain Kanae, he waited with that bright smile on his face as always. Safe to say at the completion of her response Tento was pleased. Fired up and ready to go. As soon as question and answers segment of the meeting was finished ehh? Good with him!! The second part of her answer was a bit satifactionary. The Gotei 13, the early version of the Gotei 13. Was talked about as if they were order bringers in a world full of chaos. Constant fighting and war. Such a world made hard men and woman. Hard men and woman were needed to bring order, law, and peace. Conflict was constant from what he could imagine, and from his love of history it was easy for Tento to know due to simple cause and effect. The people in such a word would seem dark to most. Truama, stained hands from choices, and the twisting of souls that would make them...well. Like Kanae. At least with the heavy murder intent that she had in the air this whole meeting. Restrained he would guess, but it felt like she was just always itching for a fight or something. Hopefully this spar would let her take a chill pill?

As the pink haired bubblegum oni bounced forward with gusto Tento eyes shifted towards her as he smiled. Right on! He liked her spirit and the guts she had. "Alright good with me. Happy to take Captain Kanae on alongside you Moe", Tento said with a nod before turning a little bit to look at the rest of the division. "If anyone else wants to take this chance as well", he said giving space for anyone else to join in or pose a question.
