Funny how a piece of clothing and a fancy title were worth almost dying for, but as Kanae reversed her grip on her weapon and caught the bloodied Fourth Division Captain haori, she knew it was. If any of the malicious thoughts and ideas bouncing around in her skull were to come to fruition, it had to be. Those were for another day though. Today, Kanae had her first victory in a thousand years. Her now-sealed Zanpakuto was a bit disappointed Arkin was still able to speak and walk away, but in Kanae's eyes he was just a road block she'd managed to surpass.
Though she knew she also needed medical assistance, the new Captain had no interest in following Arkin and so upon putting her sword back at her hip and draping the haori over her pained shoulder, Kanae turned on her heel and walked in the opposite direction. Surely she could find some random Shinigami capable of Kaidō, the Gotei is bound to be full of pansy medics who would rather waste time healing useless allies instead of fighting. Regardless, the first step had ended successfully and a cruel, sinister smile warped Kanae's lips as she thought about what was to follow.
