Few alive are aware of anything regarding Eliane and Arlette’s personalities beyond merely the fact that they are unilaterally loyal to Claudia Duvalier. However, despite their general lack of interaction with others, even a single conversation would make it rather obvious that the two are exceptionally different in nearly all ways.

Eliane wears a relaxed smile at nearly all times, and seems more willing to actually speak with others. Her tone of voice is soft and melodic, a playful air to her words that nearly undercuts the fact that she is quite transparently condescending, if not outright malicious in everything she says. Eliane considers any conversation she has with others to be little more than an opportunity to toy with them, though frankly, this extends beyond mere conversation and into any interaction she has with others.

Arlette, by contrast, is generally curt and to the point in all that she says and does. Her eyes and her tone suggest not only a willingness, but an active hope that she might bring any interruption to her tranquility to as swift an end as possible. It seems rather likely that she would be perfectly willing to bring a conversation to an end simply through a kick to the windpipe of whoever was speaking. Of course, she nevertheless will maintain total professionality at all possible times, and will only engage in violence when Claudia’s order is given.


○ Claudia Duvalier: Their employer. Eliane and Arlette will under no circumstances betray her, or take any action which runs against her wishes. They would, without question, be willing to die at her order, and their opinion of Claudia is generally positive, seeing her as something of a mother figure beyond merely their boss.


The lives of Eliane and Arlette are ones that very few have any information on. They are not recorded in any birth records, and there is no indication of their existence prior to their service under Claudia. Most assume that they are simply street children raised into this service, or private military contractors born off the grid. Neither of these is true, but neither is completely false, either. Eliane and Arlette are, in fact, clones of Claudia herself, genetically altered and having undergone extreme training and conditioning so as to best serve her needs. While Claudia has utilized private contractors and personal employees before, she ultimately does not have any faith in others. There is only one person that she feels she can trust with her own life, and as such, she created two more of said woman to protect her. Because of this, they have little in the way of a life story or a history to speak of, and there are at this time no major events worth speaking of in their lives.


○ Section 12 Equipment: As Claudia’s personal guards, as well as the only two women alive for whom Claudia has even the faintest degree of care, Eliane and Arlette are outfitted with the absolute pinnacle of Carrington Developments’ arms and defense technology. Of this equipment, the vast majority of it comes from Carrington’s Section 12, dedicated to the most radical and innovative developments and given the most extensive funding for its research. Much of this equipment is specialized and advanced enough that, even with the extensive resources of the Duvalier Group, and the financial boon of subsidies from the Vastimian government, it simply is not feasible for any large scale manufacturing. Of these technologies, the most deadly (and also the least visually obvious) are specialized ammunition and body armor designed to interfere with spiritual defenses and attacks, by usage of a proprietary alloy which incorporates sekkiseki without compromising the overall structural integrity of the projectile or the body armor itself. While spiritual attacks against Eliane and Arlette are not totally negated, they are tremendously reduced in efficacy, and even the most powerful of spiritual defenses are no different from a mundane blockade when fired on with this specialized ammunition.


○ Genetic Augmentation: Created for the sole purpose of protecting Claudia, Eliane and Arlette have been given quite exceptional modifications from the original genetics of their “mother.” This is, of course, to make up for her otherwise wholly unremarkable physicality or talent. Unlike Claudia, who is by all accounts a normal woman, Eliane and Arlette have more than enough physical prowess to match most threats to Claudia’s life even without their wide array of equipment. These include extreme enhancements to strength, durability, agility, and perception, as well as several systems of secondary organs to function in the event of the primary organ’s failure.

○ Simulated Experience: Despite being mere clones of Claudia, and having never undergone a genuine upbringing, Eliane and Arlette have lived through several thousand years of combat simulations before having been introduced to the greater world at large. As such, they carry the hardened knowledge of the battlefield that most only find after years in the killing fields, though it must be noted that many of their simulations are not mere electronic exercises, but rather direct recreations of real battles, and on several occasions they have been left to simply experience the aftermath of failed exercises so as to impart the importance of success onto them. Any environment, any foe, any circumstance, Eliane and Arlette have been drilled in it to a degree that would likely have broken many. And, to be fair, it did break many previous attempts at their creation.

○ Duvalier Blood: Much like Claudia herself, Eliane and Arlette possess an extremely muddled genetic makeup, lacking sufficient blood to be truly considered part of any race. This gives them much the same benefits that Claudia herself gains, chiefly in their ability to always gain the best possible outcome from any abilities or effects that would influence them based on any of the four races that make up their ancestry (demon, hollow, shinigami, and human), as well as their ability to quickly shift their spiritual signature to appear as any of these four races, or any combination of them.
