Drowning Disbelief (Open)

Sitting idle at the desk where so much time was spent. Listening to the careless whispers of patients and people around him. Somethings never changed or grew outside of this place. He wouldn't amount to what his uncle did that was a simple fact. He'd not mimic The Flash Goddess nor the power of Ulv Auber. A simple calculation in reality to drown. His digits slowly felt around the ring of his cup. Drinking from it taking in the beverage of sake. The old Shihouin was gone, why do much of anything? He was but a doctor, nothing compared to Lady Unohana or his present Captain

His eyes hid beneath his unkempt bangs and hair as he threw back another. He'd taken care of the reports as the Vice Captain's badge lay on his desk. A mark or symbol of something the Kuchiki wondered. His uncle spent all his time devoted to a cause.

What was the point of investing further in trying anymore? Why bother with trying to obtain strength or anything for that matter? What did it matter in the long run if he grew stronger? It didn't mean great prestige, it was simply a meaningless endeavor.

Fate had made its choice when dealing with him. He was a Medical student and a little more. For now, it was just best to drown what he didn't want to believe until it became real.
