There was a hard sigh that left the male's mouth as he heard the woman's response. The point wasn't for her to proclaim to the entire world what her vision was, but if she couldn't even explain it to someone else, how could the universe even hope to respond to help her? It's why he shook his head, got focused and closed his eyes as he let his energies synchronize with the air around him, focused in on his meditation, and calmed his body for combat.
"To the left..."
That is all Adam muttered before Lyza found herself slamming headfirst into a dense patch of emerald green energy. In fact, her own fist may outright suffer second-degree burns for such a reckless action. As, the impact force alone could cause her knuckles to bleed out on top of that as what Adam had done was focus his energy to his left flank, anticipated where she'd strike and defended himself with a makeshift barrier. Which is why his blood-red gaze found itself turning back to her as he uttered these words to his fellow human.
"Is that it? Your goals are as short-sighted as your attacks."
In that instant, since Lyza was caught in his grasp, it did not take much for him to extend his force further by unleashing one burst of honey light straight in the woman's face. It possessed enough strength to destroy entire city blocks, so a damning eruption of thunder and fire would roar throughout the lands as the area became doused in this light. So, even if the woman's ears became deafened, he made sure his voice was amplified through his energy to speak over the carnage.
"Power...for what? What do you need power for in the long-term? If you can't even tell me that, you won't evolve. Point blank. Evolution comes from a higher goal, not just for the sake of it."

Lyza hadn't anticipated the barrier to be thrown up and her fist collided with a loud sizzling sound. Immediately she winced and pulled her hand back before anymore damage could be done. Lyza started to step back to put a few feet of distance between her and Adam, but not before he would follow up with another attack and a taunt to get on her nerves. The honey energy collided with her, but this time Lyza had managed to see it coming just before it hit her. Even that split second to recognize her attack allowed Lyza to raise her own blood red energy in defense at a surprising pace. It was still second nature even after all these years, and it was what kept Lyza from taking what could have been a terrible blow. Instead she managed to block most of the initial force of Adam's attack with her own energy while sustaining minimal damage herself. In the midst of this attack, Lyza would kick off a platform of her energy and disengage from the overwhelming honey energy before it could cause anymore damage to her. Yet even as she emerged suddenly from Adam's overwhelming attack, it was clear that she had sustained plenty of damage. | Lyza, Vessel of Aries |
Just from that, Lyza's forehead was bleeding and her outfit was torn in several places, exposing reddened patches of skin that were likely just bruises that had yet to form. Even still, the woman was clearly able to push through this without too much effort, though the pain certainly was distracting.
"Leave."
"Shut up."
It was clear that Lyza was ignoring both Adam and her own better judgment completely. She could have taken Adam on back in the day, so why then was this so difficult? Had she really let herself go that much? She refused to believe that even when the evidence was so plainly in front of her. Lyza believed she could do this, so she would. A little pain was nothing to her, just like it had always been right?
Aries knew what was really going on, and she was pissed knowing that her host was just outright refusing to listen to reason. Where she might have been strong once upon a time, that was years ago. Lazing about for the better portion of her life meant that her old capabilities had rotted away. All that was left was the vague memories of what once was. Lyza was trying to live a fairytale dream that she herself had conjured, and it was not going to work. Aries just hoped that when the time came to run, she actually would...

There was a look disappointment from the eyes of Adam, yet it wasn't from the way she conducted herself in combat. The mental aspect of the woman was sorely lacking and he knew there was conflict within her soul. If one could not attain a sense of fundamental understanding of their own principles, how could they ever hope to translate that desire of power into the metaphysical when this entire world revolves around that very concept? It was utterly ridiculous how the woman buried her head in the sand.
So, Adam wasted no time breaking the distance between the two of them. At this point, there was no point in even using his powers. Instead, he opted to outright utilize his energy to increase the impact of his strikes in both of his hands; resulting in them being consumed by scarlet energy. From there, he opted to strike her in rapid succession. Dozens and dozens of strikes were pin-pointed all over her chest, shoulders, arms, face and gut so that she may be overwhelmed by damning physical pain. As this assault possessed enough attack power to outright decimate the entire city block around them and perhaps even grind her into a pulp into the earth itself.
"Are you just going to keep running away from my question, or am I going to have to beat it out of you? Why are you so stubborn?"
There was a gruff sigh had from the male before he unleashed his final punch right in her jaw with enough destructive power to clear the area for the next four city blocks or so before he settled, tensed up and observed to see what reaction he'd get from her. If nothing else, if she couldn't endure this, there was no chance in hell of her being suitable enough to walk down the path of power. Greater souls would devour her whole with their will alone.

Lyza could see the disappointment in Adam's eyes, but she didn't care for it in the slightest. She wanted so desperately to prove herself that she was capable that it all went completely ignored. The woman simply raised her arms and began to protect herself from her opponent's onslaught of strikes. Her arms adjusted to block and deflect as many blows as she could, but towards the end her stance faltered and she was struck several times in the chest, arms, and abdomen before receiving one final blow to the jaw that sent her hurtling back down to the earth. Her impact was heavier than it had any right to be as it sent sand clouding around her. Lyza felt weak, like she was being destroyed slowly, but she wouldn't give up. To give up was to accept death, and she was not particularly good friends with the reaper. Even through the cloud of sand, she managed to shakily push herself back on her feet, the pain feeling like it was starting to get to her. But still she persisted. "Just stop." Lyza couldn't even hear the pleas of Aries through her desires blinding her. | Lyza, Vessel of Aries |
"Fine, if it'll get you to shut up and just fight." Lyza called out to Adam as the sand settled and she was left standing there despite her injuries, rubbing her pained jaw right where she had been punched. "It's not too far off from why you started this little cult or whatever of yours. Too many big strong people who could wipe out entire cities on a whim.
"Honestly, fuck that. There needs to be more humans who can defend and help Earth heal from all the destruction it's faced. You know what I'm talking about. Shit like Las Vegas and the White House, whether any of it was deserved or not, doesn't need to happen."
But just admitting to all that felt awful. "Man, I didn't want to even remotely compare myself to a war criminal like you, but I guess it can't be helped, can it?" The woman sighed and brushed the sand off of her body. Her job still wasn't over with.
"Well, I'm not going to get strong with us just standing around. You gonna keep trying to kill me or what?"

Those attacks weren't anything to scoff at. Getting back up from them at her level indicated to Adam that there was some kind of will laying within the woman. To persist through the midst of an onslaught of hellish pain meant that at her core there was something precious to his fellow human's heart to try and pursue such daunting goals. So, his face relaxed as he could at least respect the effort to still want to face him in spite of that beat down which was dished out.
And -- in doing so -- he got what he wanted.
The more that he listened in to the true essence of Lyza's eyes, the more his eyes began to become consumed within pure whiteness. The color within them faded as his own power started to activate and he could actually help this woman achieve that which she desires. By uttering her intentions to the universe, and stating the core reasons behind them, a path of evolution could be attached to reality. That hunger, that will and that intention to protect, heal, and fight for mother earth could bring about a great power within this woman in spite of her stubbornness. So, he had to act on that.
Soon, a sword made of plum energy forged in the man's right hand. Then, without making a sound, the man stabbed the woman straight in the stomach with the blade. The resulting transferal of power would create an immense pain that would seem as if Lyza was dying. Yet, this was the mental and physical price to pay for such progression. For the bases of his ability revolves around the fact that the particles of his energy can alter the world around him and evolve various constructs, objects, and living beings. And now that he could see a realistic path to pursue, he inscribed his ideals of "will" into her body.
Lyza was a woman who had proven herself to be strongwilled to carry a lofty goal on her back, pursue the hells of combat and seek something far beyond herself to evolve. So, the universe could inscribe its gifts to her as he sought to create a new power within herself which thrived off the woman's aura of determination. The ability he thought of was "Progressive Will" and its intent was to turn the metaphysical construct of willpower into tangible strength that could be called upon. While there were no such things as free rides in this life, each summoning of this power to be was meant to take a high strain on her body in exchange for the sudden monstrous boost in strength. Durability, speed, and physical capacities were the primary focus of this power as the woman relied more on her natural skills.
And, of course, the natural capacities of this power would be inscribed into the woman's mind if this blow were to make contact. She needed to know what Adam had planned for her and she'd need the strength to continue pursuing this fight for it to even activate properly. As by no means was this an instant transfer, but the seeds of evolution were planted within the woman. Hence, as a result, the man would then alter his own form with this power being awakened within himself. Skin turning pale white, eyes fading to plum, body growing to that of a fully grown six-foot-tall male and hair growing black as the night; his overall physique hardened and his voice deepened as his face softened to a pleased expression with such a rich smile behind it.
"That's all I wanted: the beauty of your sweet, evolving human will, Lyza."

Re: Karmic Debt [Adam/lyza]

There were no words, no sounds, nothing to prepare Lyza for the sudden sensation of being ran through by a sword made of plum colored energy. Her mind wasn't given time to register the pain of that before another brutal feeling of absolute agony started to tear through the poor woman's body.
It felt like fire- no, worse than that. As if every fiber of her being had been drenched in lava while she was being ripped apart from the inside out. It was like nothing she had experienced in her life, which is why she couldn't help the desperate, animalistic howling that she let out in response to such abysmal torment. It sounded like Lyza was afraid for her life, like she was going to die but it was taking forever.
The feeling was that of absolute and utter hell.
And what made it worse was that Adam was forcing his energies into her body like some sort of perverse injection. Lyza hated it, she couldn't stand the feeling, let alone the pain that came with it. Whatever he was doing to her, she wanted it to stop before it caused something to happen within her. It was gross, it was disgusting it made her hate herself, but more importantly, it made her hate Adam. And the worst part? There was nothing she could do about any of this. She was helpless, hopeless... Lyza was nothing.
But Adam would feel something odd, like things weren't going exactly according to plan. His energies were not inscribing things as he would think, but rather being stolen as they tried to alter Lyza's body. Nothing was happening to Lyza herself, but there was something within her that was stopping Adam's power from working entirely. Something that wasn't Lyza.
The plum energies of Adam's sword would be dispelled completely and without warning. No side effects, no flashing, no act of the energies dispersing, it would simply stop existing faster than his eyes could witness, leaving Lyza to fall suddenly quiet as her knees gave out and she crumpled unceremoniously to the ground in a pile. Her body was weak and almost lifeless save for some light breathing and a weak pulse, but that wasn't what would catch Adam's eyes next.
From Lyza's left arm, another arm would reach out, and then from her waist up, another her would slowly shift and rise. This copy of herself, or maybe it was her own soul, clawed at the sands and gasped for air as it tried to remember how to breathe. It had never needed to do so before now, but it was determined to try.
For the next minute this other 'Lyza' would start to slowly gain its senses and come to breathe normally. It was abnormal to say the least, and the spirit was aware of how odd it must have looked to Adam, but it cared not for the opinions of others. Slowly, it would push itself upright, then onto its knees, and from there onto its feet. Only for a second did it stumble until finally, it stood upright, back facing to Adam.
Raising its hands, the spirit began to examine itself in shocked curiosity. Was it alive? Was it... free? Looking around, it knew. This was where Lyza had brought them on that stupid self-absorbed mission. She wanted to prove herself to... well, herself, and nobody else. Lyza didn't have the friends to impress, she just wanted to feel important. Aries knew that. Ah, yes. Aries. That was the spirit's name, it remembered now. In its momentary shock, it had forgotten a lot of things, but it was all flooding back into her mind as she calmed down.
(Play posting music)
"Ah. My apologies." The copy of Lyza spoke as it turned around, stepping over her host's body and gently kicking it out of the way so she could have more room to stand. "Adam... was it?" The woman's tone of voice was calm, smooth, like a proper woman and not the uncouth beast that was Lyza. "Forgive me, being locked away in solitude with nothing but a self-righteous moron to carry you around... it gets to you. Makes you a little insane, I mean." The woman looked around and examined the desert, only to scoff and click her tongue in annoyance. "And could she have picked a more empty place to bring me...? Well, I guess meeting you did end up completing my soul, but... still. I had envisioned this entire scene as I emerged from my host in a beautiful environment under the starry night, moonlight pouring down upon us both as I pulled myself from her and went my own separate way, but, well, I guess that was a little too idealistic of me, was it not?" | Aries, The Manifested Self |
Aries sighed and nudged Lyza onto her back using her foot. She couldn't help but find Lyza disgusting now that she was looking at her host from the outside. Now she had a physical object to direct her hatred towards, one that she didn't have to worry about now that she had her own body. But still, she hated the feeling of it. Not being in a human body that was. She was just a plus, just a soul without a human body like she hoped to have. If anything, she just felt like a useless copy of Lyza, and that thought alone pissed Aries off more than any of the stupid things her host had said and done before.
Though maybe that didn't have to be the case forever. Perhaps one day she could fashion her own real, human body too? Ah, yes. That will be her first achievement in this world. A fleshy, human body just for herself. The key word here was will. It wasn't a dream like with Lyza and her desire for unimaginable strength, even if that meant becoming the very thing she hated. No, Aries will model herself a body. It didn't matter how hard it would be.
"Go ahead, ask away." The woman said abruptly as she folded her arms under her chest. Aries turned her head to peer into Adam's new mature, plum colored eyes with her own piercing crimson ones. They were the only defining feature setting her apart from Lyza visually, asides from the lack of glasses."Surely you have plenty of questions, no?"

Well -- that didn't go as planned. Ah well. There went his dramatic entrance. Still, interesting things were taking place. As for starters, it seems that his power was rejected from her being. That one made the male raise an eyebrow as usually, it would have some type of positive effect on a person. So, to see such a negative reaction informed him that he still had much to learn about his own evolutionary power.
Secondly, there seemed to be a duality of various energies flowing within the woman. The likes of which were vomiting to the surface and expunging itself from her body. This meant that whatever was brewing in the woman was Ziamichi in nature. And, with this knowledge, it was apparent to Adam that the balance of the two was broken by his move. Now they entered into the realm of the unknown as this creature started to forge and take the shape of its the host; only with a far different look to her eyes than before. Perhaps it was him perceiving things wrong, but that shimmer of blood in Aries's eyes was akin to his own.
Still, though, he wasn't scared of these developments nor upset by them. Yes, he was taken by surprise, but this was the perfect opportunity to learn more about his power, understand the influence it had and to see just what this separate version of Lyza had to offer. Ergo, the woman had his full attention as the male still maintained his smile. He wanted something to evolve this interaction, and by god, he certainly got his wish.
"Ah, sorry ma'dam. I love grandiose entrances myself, but sometimes fate doesn't care for our wants. I could move us to a more spacious area, but I feel that would be a waste of time."
Playful and coy even into his matured form, Adam couldn't help but have fun with the circumstances. Though he still understood that he needed to get to the root of this whole incident. So, his stare narrowed in on Aries when he knew he had a few questions to ask.
"I suppose the first question I have to ask is: what are you?"
Then, there was a pause before he thought of his next question.
"And second: where do you want to go from here? I have no idea of the relationship between you two, so context on that would be nice to."

Aries huffed in mild amusement as Adam dismissed her entrance, and she couldn't help but agree. This wasn't the way the woman had imagined separating from her... creator? Her other half? There was a variety of things that Aries wanted to call Lyza, things she probably shouldn't say right this exact moment, so she held her tongue and simply moved on. "I am a Plus, for better or for worse. I was created one day when Lyza fractured her soul unknowingly and have been taking the power that Lyza has accumulated over the years for myself in order to become a whole being. My plan was to eventually split once I had grown to be a complete soul, but you... You sort of altered my plans. "You force people to grow as individuals in some way shape or form, don't you? I stole that growth-influenced energy you intended for Lyza and altered it to finish my body. And since I was now suddenly ready, no reason to stay caged inside a selfish fool like her. Might as well set myself free instead of torturing myself, no?" | Lyza, Vessel of Aries |
Suddenly, Aries reared a foot back and slammed it right into Lyza's side with a surprising amount of force. The woman let out a pained cry and jolted upright as she was suddenly awoken. Her eyes darted around as she tried to find what had hit her while her mind slowly remembered where she was, only to find herself staring up at... herself?
"Your fight isn't over. You two still have a score to settle no?" Aries said, and Lyza immediately recognized the tone of voice of the copy speaking to her. Yet before she could speak, Aries simply turned and walked to stand off to the side. "No, please. Don't let me interrupt. You were the one so adamant about coming here. Surely you have the gall to see your own goals to the end?"
There was venom dripping from Aries' sarcastic tone. She was ready to finish Adam's job herself, but there was something deep within her that made her stop herself from causing any more harm to her creator. A deep and personal care for Lyza. God it was fucking disgusting.
Lyza on the other hand couldn't even stand upright on her own. She attempted to push herself onto her feet, but ended up tumbling back to the ground with a pathetic whimper. Her guts felt like they were on fire and her body like it was filled with lead. All the woman could do was look up at Adam, brows furrowed in confusion and pain as she was left to simply wait for something to happen. Aries scoffed at the sight of her trembling creator. To her, she could feel a strange mix of gratification and genuine disgust. "Kill her or leave her." Aries said with a nonchalant shrug. "Either way, she brought this upon herself."

Adam's plum-eyes soon shifted into a shade of crimson as the excitement behind them could not be denied. He certainly wasn't expecting this turn of events, but they weren't unwelcomed. And seeing a woman with that same blood stare as his own could only do anything but make him feel a tingly feeling joy.
"Evolution is a tricky mistress. Sometimes your plans accelerate and alter in ways that even the best of our imaginative minds couldn't have thought of. Much like the way you altered my power, I feel this was meant to be in some way because of the margin of error on both our ends. I'm pretty fucking excited about this."
Once the giddy man expressed his glee, he took a pause to reflect when he tried to address her name. And, before they could dwell too deeply into the next subject, he snapped his fingers and pointed his right index finger at the woman with a wink of his left eye.
"Oh, right, I didn't even catch your name. It would be a shame if you left so quickly without telling me that. I like to associate pretty names with pretty faces."
Yeah, even in this circumstance, Adam couldn't help himself but flirt ever so slightly. Though, that was far from the intent. He genuinely was curious to know her name as it felt odd conversationally to refer to her as nothing. However, that wasn't the most pressing thing to concern himself with. There was the issue of Lyza being flung across the earth as her weakened body came hurtling across the dirty ground.
So, he started to walk over toward the woman; feeling all of her disdain, frustration, weakness, and all things that drove to very human feelings of anger. There was a lot of potential to work with the woman to him if she could open herself to receive the gifts of the universe. Hence, a more somber sigh exhaled from the male as he crouched down to her level and had his bloody eyes stare intently at Lyza.
"Look, I've got no interest in killing you. All of this was just to push you. So, I can leave you out here to die and let the vultures eat your ass up. Hell, I can even drop you off where one of your Lux Orior buddies can pick you up. But, I doubt either of those options will make you grow or learn from this."
This Adam seemed more earnest in speaking as there wasn't as much flirt or sass in it. Instead, he seemed more stern as his face narrowed in on the hurt woman. In this way did his energy start to alter as his right hand held within it a cluster of neon white energy which flickered with a great life in it. There was no hostile presence felt in it, and instead he placed the sphere of power into her body to help the woman recover some of her stamina. At least, provided her body could accept it.
"The third option is that you can stay here with me, develop your powers, and see what kind of a beautiful woman of humanity you can turn into."
That message also went out to Aries, as he turned his blood gaze to her for a moment to nod his head and extend the offer toward her as well.
"That goes for you too."

Excited? Adam was excited for... for what even the hell? Lyza's mind was boggled, she was so confused as to what was going on anymore. Why was Aries here? How...? Even after the explanation given, Lyza's wounds and the suddenness of everything kept her in a state of confusion. Her mind had yet to process what was going on. It was all so... just how? Why? The state of her being was so overwhelming that she couldn't even resist getting help from the guy she came here to capture. Her body wouldn't let her move, it felt like lead, and on top of that she didn't notice until it was already happening. Lyza's bruised, broken body accepted Adam's healing energy and started to repair itself. She herself only flinched upon noticing the energy being passed onto her before calming down as her body started to soothe. | Lyza, Vessel of Aries |
"Aries."
Lyza's head perked up as the spirit that came from her introduced itself. Aries, yes, so it really was her. A part of her didn't even register that Aries was capable of leaving her body, but now that her mind was settling and the information was getting to her, she had said it was because of Adam that she gained a true form? So now she was alone again, then. Maybe she should have treated Aries a little better. Or would that have even helped?
The brunette's train of thought was suddenly broken by Adam giving her an ultimatum. Stay here and get what she wanted, or be brought back to a place where Lux Orior would find her. Despite the pain still coursing through her body, Lyza managed to stand up on her own two feet. She could walk still, but her legs felt like she had a few hundred pound weights attached to them. Walking wasn't much of an option.
"I..." The woman started as her morals started to conflict. If she stayed, she would get what she wanted. That much was given. But if she didn't go back, there would be people looking for her. Not only that, if she got caught consorting with her own organization's enemy, Lyza would be branded as a traitor in seconds. No, she had to go back.
"I'll go." She said definitively. Her head turned to Aries only to meet her spirit's glare.
"I'll stay."
Lyza's heart sank and she opened her mouth to protest. Why would Aries want to stay here, what could she even possibly get? But as Lyza began to croak out her first word, she was interrupted.
"I don't want anything to do with you, Lyza." The clone said flatly. "You seek strength, but you don't even know what makes you strong." And at the mention of that, Aries raised a hand and snapped her fingers in a showy manner. The sound was accompanied by a sudden rapid drop in temperature, and the immediate area a few feet around the woman froze over with a layer of frost. "You, over the course of the past however many years, never noticed that nagging at the back of your head? The feeling of something beyond your comprehension? The flowing of energies that were abnormal in every capacity? Spiritual Manipulation, Lyza. Your body, and by the same merit my own, are naturally attuned to the energies of the world itself. Not many people get that benefit, you read about it yourself."
Lyza felt dumbfounded, and now that Aries mentioned it she could feel that same force. It shifted the moment that Aries had demonstrated use of it, the energies flowing through the earth and air around them moving and fluctuating as the ground was frozen beneath them.
"Take her home." Aries sighed as she turned around, arms crossed beneath her bosom. "I'm tired of looking at her face."
Lyza grit her teeth, feeling insulted given that Aries looked just like her, but she resigned to letting the woman have her way. "Fine..." Lyza muttered and weakly turned towards Adam with a defeated expression on her face. "Just get me out of here. Even if I did want to stay here, they'd just come looking for me anyways."
