LITTLE GIRL IN THE BIG CITY

It had been a few weeks since she saw him but she hadn't expected the invitation to come to the captial to be extended. So Arjana dressed appropriately when she showed up, no hides or skimpy tribal get-ups. Instead she was dressed in a tight top and shorts that still showed off a lot of her body but looked a lot more modern and appropriate. Sporty even.

Once she arrived all there was to really do was wait for her escort, even though she had been here a few times already Arjana wasn't going to wander off without him.

Naturally the Warhound of Vastime would find his companion and be there to greet her. He'd arrive with three black vehicles. All possessing some of the most hightech protection and communication protection the nation could afford, but with that being said the man would step out the back of one of the cars. Wearing his usual uniform he looked almost immaculately maintained, and noticeably wearing white gloves. He seemed to have adjusted well to his new arm as he approached Arjana.

"It's a pleasure to see you once again, Arjana. I apologize for such a show, protocole and such. Is there any luggage- of course not." The man would remark immediately recalling the culture, he'd extend a hand to her to offer her guidance as a gentlemen would of Vastime. He couldn't be uncouth now. "Are you hungry? It must have been a long trip; how is the village? We've much to catch up on." The man would speak, maintaining that almost gentle or patrician nature. But he seemed well meaning, and the man she knew all those weeks ago with a ghost of a smile.

"And you too Atlas~"

There was a sing-song tone that told she was happy to be given this invitation. She listened to him, all of his words and when he extended his hand out to take her own she might've misinterpreted it as a handshake but she was far beyond the formality of a mere handshake and instead pressed past his defences to give him a tight hug that you might give a friend before pulling away again.

"I'm famished. It was a long walk yes but I made it in one piece and good spirits. As for how the village is doing it is doing spendid with the safer place for sport and recreation. We've already seen the number of and severity of the injuries go down with the removal of all the rocks."

Atlas should've expected, and perhaps he did, that the woman would charge past formality and shatter his defense. The feeling of her arms wrapping tightly around him cause a thin smile to come on his lips, his eyes closing as a chuckle escaped his lips. His arms coming to wrap around her, giving her one in return before pulling back as she did. He'd clear his throat.

"I can have something prepared at the estate, I set aside time for the day to get you acquainted with the events of the upcoming days. People to meet, and things I'd like to show you." The man would tilt his head in the direction of the blackened cars.

Yeah, this felt more right. A handshake implied being acquaintances or just meeting and while this was a meeting for Arjana a hug was a better greeting to a friend or comrade. Therefore it just felt more right.

"Excellent... Oh?"

All this walking for a bunch of meetings he had arranged. What did devious little Atlas have in mind for her?

"Mmm, of course. I suppose we're not walking then?"

It was a bit of a joke but she was a walking person herself. She was not a fan of cars or vehicles, always felt out of her control and in an instant another person's error could result in a crash. It was a bit irrational yes but that was just her natural and she doubted that she'd ever not be a little on guard within a vehicle.

"Anyway, lead the way."

"Sadly no." The man would remark offering a sad smile indeed, but escorting her to the car none the less. Being the man he was there was no doubt threats to his life, even within the safety of the city. Perhaps an irrational fear himself, but this also doubled as some privacy for the two. Once they were in he'd speak.

"Things have been hectic, the war will begin shortly. Things but be arranged, including meeting with.. allies." The man paused a bit before speaking that word, as if history was included with it. "But I have an opportunity for you; one which may require you to have a semi-permanent presence in the city. Should you so choose it."

A shame indeed. Oh well, couldn't be helped and Arjana didn't waste time trying to avoid getting in the car. Once she was comfy in the seat and relaxed she listened to him bring up the war. So it was returning? It was inevitable though, Arjana understood but there would be so much death. It was a little sad but again, inevitable.

"Is that so. What might I be required for? You know it would be my privilege to help."

There was a friendly smile to just affirm that sentiment, not that we as the reader expect any doubts to begin with.

"You know Vastimian culture is deeply rooted in the advancement of Earth; through technology or our energies. I have a scientist; inventor, who works for our Department of Development. I'd like you to consider a full time position as an advisor; once your meet her."

The man would explain casually, essentially offering a tenured government position. Such things came with decent benefits and good pay; not that she cared he believed. But the fact she would be able to operate closely with the capital to the benefit of the people, such a thing would surely appeal. He'd cross his leg as he rested his elbow on him, chin propped up by a hand.

"We'd be working fairly closely."

"Work with someone hmm? Ah, you mean in relation to my mystical qualities that have me revered by my people?"

She nods, understanding exactly how he might find her powers and their domain within the realm of death to be quite beneficial. There was also so much about them she hardly understood.

"It would be my pleasure to take the role and a position working closely with you would be quite the boon."

Saying it all in such an upbeat way, she then blurts out the rest of her concerns that were probably because she was a girl of the country and not really the big civilised city.

"I get to stay in one piece right? No cutting up and dissecting me?"

It was said in jest but there was the hint of actual genuine concern for the possibility.

"Your innards having nothing of interest for the state."

The man would reply in kind, allowing that to settle on her for a moment before letting a thin smile come on his lips. A soft laugh escaping his lips to assure her that no such thing would happen, a bit of a jest himself. Although.. no she was definitely safe from that.

His head would shift to look out the window, taking in the scenery of the city. There was of course a lot of activity out the window, such as people attending to their daily lives. But one thing of note was how lively everything was, but far different than her home most likely.

"We don't need to strictly speak business, I'm sure you've many other questions or concerns. We arn't too far from the estate."
