Re: Doomsday Rising [WW4 Start Event]
Wed Feb 13, 2019 6:53 pm
That is... most intelligent... his thoughts must be guided by our Goddess... wonderful, she may work in mysterious ways,but... Sunshine lightly shook his head, keeping in the back of his head what was currently happening, feeling how his special energy moved into the demons. Yes, that's good... I wonder, I wonder...
A thought shot out of Sunshine's mind, and immediately, the demon horde that had emerged at his call began to also change their tactics. Rather than recklessly assailing their opponents or going for the kill... they became much more sloppy. Limbs were hacked off instead of heads; bodies were rent and torn and left in their wake. When someone tried to rise again, to retaliate for their half-fallen comrades... they were eviscerated brutally.
A reputation that would grow as this fight on. Sunshine was curious if the creature emitting such attacks like the one that blew away the plants would understand what was happening. He seems to have much more adaptive control over what's being used against him... if he does not adopt this strategy, I'll take it as a sign... and change accordingly... but... until then~
Sunshine's body began to glow slightly where he stood in the air. Those with their limbs lopped, their bodies weak and useless, abandoned among the pain and the carnage before their comrades... the concentration of Despair across the battlefield increased dramatically. And for Sunshine, that was a well, made for him to eat his fill.
Seems she's coming at me... and also seems that she doesn't enjoy her opponents having hearing. She'll likely come for my other senses as well, hmm...? But... by the glory of our Goddess.. Sunshine's face contorted, even as his ears bled. The senses are my domain. Among the rampaging demons, several wore headgear... and thanks to Sunshine's peculiar abilities, he could effortlessly touch into their senses. It was not quite the same... but it was leagues better than the muffled ringing of his own ears. Now he could just relax and enjoy the pain in his head...
No. No, no. No, no, no. Sunshine's eyes twitched, his head moving back and forth, his eyes finally shifting and changing as they met the girl's... His breathing was slow, calm... meditative. Her words flowed over him like the spiritual pressure that was constantly smashing into his body, demanding his attention.
Our Goddess, please... I beg of you... grant me your power... that deep, unfathomable power... Sunshine's prayer was entirely necessary. He did not reply with a word to Sofia, standing there with his hands clasped. After all... this was the best way that Sunshine knew to get his abilities to work. "And forgive her in her infinite mercy... after all, what mortal could ever hope to understand the Designs of a God...?" Sunshine's eyes began to open once again... looking directly at her as her blade descended...
And as it did, Sunshine's body contorted. The smile was plain and calm on his face as his freshly regenerated arm created an actual blade, slipping hers away from his body, smoothly parrying against But that was not what she should have been focusing on...
After all, Sunshine's hair attacked her in the same moment. As her blade crashed into his body, he dug in his heels, feeling the pressure against the ground, his hair moving into her as if alive. A parry and an attack combined into one. Strands of it had twisted together, each going directly for her head from a multitude of intercepting angles. There were seven of them in total, each attacking simultaneously from a different direction. Within each and every one of them, there was a very peculiar... item.
The Flesh Bud.
If any made contact, an amazingly powerful stabbing pain would echo through Sofia's head for a moment, before fading completely, replaced with a much more benign sensation. Almost like absolutely nothing had happened. If she physically inspected the spot, she would find what felt like a welt and nothing more...
Now, if her defenses were centralized around her head... she would see something quite different. A writhing, wriggling flesh-colored creature would fall off of her head, several skin covered tentacles flailing and reaching around.
As distracting as it was, it was not the only thing. While his body was being thrown back, while his blade blocked, while his hair attacked... at the same time... Sunshine's hand simply... reached out to her skin, his hand extending up to five feet as a pink glow possessed it. The question would be if it made contact; unless her body could contort and stretch like his, it was unlikely she would be able to prevent his open hand from touching her. The more it touched, the more it would be affected, the pink haze moving into her skin. Once inside, the energy would stimulate processes within the flesh... sending rather distracting pleasant sensations into her head.
Sunshine felt his body moving, shifting... and suddenly, pain. Great pain in his side. The second sword had not been blocked; it had passed through his blade, through his body. A burning sensation roared through his skin, eliciting a cry of pain from the man as his torso tore. His body had been moved back somewhat, leaning to the side and resulting in his ribs being ripped into and burned. Pain surged into his mind, the blade passing cleanly through, leaving a hole in his side.
And then... hands. Grabbing, tugging. They were still in a battleground, after all. Upon seeing the threat to Sunshine, the demons shifted, moving. His demons had rose to the occasion, blocking the peculiar dog-shaped energy attacks with their own bodies. They did not hesitate one bit as they died, bits and pieces of their bodies rent and thrown asunder, driving pain shooting through Sunshine's body as they disconnected from his will. Thank you... thank you all... I'll make sure they learn... why, aaah... why your sacrifice was necessary...
The ones that remained were now running at Sofia as she attacked... Running at her, trying to stop her... Moving... just like Sunshine's body, as he was knocked away by the first attack. He had been more than willing to take another blow from the green weapon; as annoying as the Quincy were to deal with, his body manipulation was also nothing to sniff at. Twitching, feeling the blood dripping off of his body, he kicked away, trying to get some distance, trying to retreat from the woman.
Then, his senses erupted. A deafening explosion poured over the man's body, sending him flying and rolling even further away. Burns covered his skin, pain flooding through his mind. Quite a number of his horde were damaged by the blast... and yet... they did not cry. They did not scream. They breathed... they all breathed.
Just as her soldiers they had dragged into her explosion had.
Grabbing and pulling hands and grips, the unslain that Sunshine's forces had been battling earlier. They were bleeding out, bodies rent asunder by their leader. "Oh, Khala... please forgive her..." Sunshine's voice whispered, wondering how cruel she could be to use such a devastating attack in the midst of her own forces.
I've had just about enough of her, though...
Sunshine's body was already reforming the leg he had lost in the explosion. It hurt, it hurt all over his body. His blood was pounding in his ears, feeling the stamina it took to reform himself draining a bit from her attack. It was more than just an inconvenience... the amount of his body that had been damaged would require some degree of energy.
But I can take so much more punishment... let's see if she's the same..... Sunshine's body began to stand... his eyes looking dead ahead.
So much more calm than before. Sofia's troops charged at him, seeing him standing once again. But the pressure that had possessed his body was gone. Time to show this heathen the glory... the glory...! Sunshine's entire body shook, feeling the connection to Za Koa growing. It was growing much more than usual; Sunshine could feel that his prayer had been received, had been answered...
Around Sunshine's body, a peculiar effect took place. Sofia would definitely be able to feel it; a terrible power, welling itself up to the surface. More... More.... MORE! The preacher shouted inside of his own head, the purple miasma that flowed outwards from his body wrapping into her troops.
Sofia's flowing power was crushed and pushed aside. Sunshine's body was shifting and changing, his hair lengthening, his chest expanding slightly, his features becoming more... feminine. Behind his body, a most peculiar presence was forming. It was several dozen feet tall, a monstrosity that was contributing to Sunshine's power.
Yawgmoth.
Sunshine did not like having to compete for attention. He despised it. He despised it with every fiber of his being. Right now, that's what she was doing to him. Men fell back, their hands clawing at their faces, some merely crawling and forming themselves into a ball, others openly weeping.
Meanwhile, Sunshine's swirling eyes continued to examine Sofia.
Information was flowing into his mind as he studied her, Yawgmoth's radiating power clashing directly against hers, emerging with more and more force as Sunshine released his presence across the battlefield. A friend... not as much of... something... as she'd like... Sunshine's mind raced, consuming the information as he began stepping forwards. Soldiers would likely become concerned at the state of their comrades caught in that purple haze, maybe even panicking and breaking ranks. And another... aaah.. much pain, much sadness... something lost... but again... so much hope to change it...
Sunshine then found one other thing within his Despair Vision. Oh...? ...Boredom. That was something that he thought he could definitely deal with. One of his hands raised, the force of energy he had been producing centralizing within it. Looking directly at her, Sunshine placed the massive wave of energy in front of his body. It was apparent that a humongous amount of energy was about to discharge, the purple sphere snug on Sunshine's palm.
"How long will you lie to yourself and say those you ally with and follow do anything but drag at your head...?" His words echoed across the battlefield... before being followed by the tremendous blast. Energy ripped and tore into Sofia's waves, throbbing and shoving them out of the way as the gigantic blast erupted on top of where she was standing.
The ensuing explosion would throw dust and debris everywhere, leaving Sunshine standing there. Such a large attack, and yet he seemed unfazed. The force of the aura surrounding him was continuing to surge and grow.. crushing harder and harder against her influence across this battlefield.
"After all... if everyone would just live like you know best, they'd be so much happier... wouldn't they? Ahahahahahahahahahahaha..."
