Sprache's power is of the written word and a very broad power it is. Sprache is capable of using special, letter marked Ginto created by his own energy to generate a phenomenon. The range and capabilities of this power are incredibly flexible, allowing Sprache to generate any kind of occurrence that can be described with a world. Sprache can create an explosion by spelling out the word "explosion" and the word will become reality. He can strengthen a metal rod by writing the world "strong" on to the rod. In situations that the word Sprache generates is vague or not especially descriptive to the situation, Sprache is afforded considerable influence on how the word activates.

Unfortunately, or fortunately for everything else, Sprache does not have the unfettered ability to craft any word he desires, he is limited to the letters that the cruel hand of random, inescapable chance ascribes to him. Every turn that Sprache's power is active he will create seven Ginto with his Reiryoku. Each Ginto has a letter assigned to it randomly(through rolling 7d24 and using the number provided in correlation with the letter in order, an example would be 16-21-13-16-11-9-14 would equal P-U-M-P-K-I-N). Sprache is able to rearrange these letters in any combination to generate these words of power. The words themselves need to be an actual English word however, Sprache is not able to create things that are fictional or or imaginary. Sprache is able to store up to fourteen letters at a time.

While the actual phenomenon that Sprache can generate are variable, the strength of each phenomenon is directly dependent upon the word and the difficulty in creating the word. Each letter is worth a number of "points." Of course, there is still a limit to what Sprache can create. While he could very easily write the word “Star” actually creating a Supernova from nothing goes well beyond what even an 0-1 is capable of and is thus far beyond Sprache’s reach. Using the word “Star” would most likely not do more than create a paper star or a displaced Minnesota hockey team, point count depending. The points that measure the strength of the words are depicted below:


1 Point - A, E, I, L, N, O, R, S, T and U.


2 Points - D and G.


3 Points - B, C, M and P.


4 Points - F, H, V, W and Y.


5 Points - K.


8 Points - J and X.


10 Points - Q and Z.

The power of the word is dependent upon how many points the word is worth. For instance, "Boom" would be eight points. The Strength of each point range is listed below:

2-4: Tier 4-3


5-7: Tier 3-3


8-14: Tier 2-3


15-20: Tier 1-3


21-27: Tier 0-5


28-50: Tier 0-2


51 or higher: 0-1


Blank Tile:

Sprache has the ability to create a “blank” letter that can, effectively, replace any letter of any word. For example, if Sprach had the letter G, E, O, A, P, Q and wanted to create a Goat, Sprache could use the blank tile to substitute for the letter “T” and fulfill the requirements for the Goat.

Unlike the letter tiles themselves however, the blank tiles do not have points associated with them, effectively accounting for zero points, and only drawing points from G, O, and A. Sprache gets ten blank tiles to use per thread.


Double Up:

Sprache is able to infuse one of the tiles he receives with Reiryoku and when this tile is used in the creation of a word, the total strength of the word is doubled. For instance, if Sprache created the word “Staff” its base strength is typically an 11. Sprache could then apply double up to the word, making the strength of the word a 22. This requires a considerable amount of focus on the part of Sprache however and too many applications of this ability will quickly strain him to the point of weakness.
