Nicolas Marcone [WIP]

» Appearance Description: Nicolas is a man of slightly above average height, standing at approximately six foot two inches. He is built mostly of muscle in a lean, toned manner like that of a professional martial artist. His upper body seems somewhat more muscular than his lower, but not by much. He has scars and burn marks in layers over the knuckles and fingers of both hands. This is from the copious amounts of physical training and hand to hand combat he engages in. His fingers are long and somewhat thin, as are his hands.

He has messy black hair that often falls into his face, despite his constant attempts to prevent this. It curls at the ends naturally. He has thick eyebrows and a thin beard along his chin from ear to ear. He has heterochromia, which means each eye is a different color naturally. His left eye is a jade green and his right eye is a sky blue. Both have little flecks of brown and gray in them. His eyes are almond shaped, with his thick eyebrows arching lightly over them. His nose is slightly large for his face, giving him a slightly dour appearance. He has thin light pink lips, the color of a strawberry milkshake. He has a square, chiseled jawline that he inherited from his father.

He keeps his fingernails as clean and trimmed as possible, as he often cooks for himself or others. His knuckles are rather small, despite his long fingers and hands.His skin color is slightly darker than snow, almost as white as possible. The only part of him that isn't white are his hands and feet which seem to be a bit pinkish in color. This trait is rather odd as both his father and brother are rather dark skinned, showing the Italian lineage thoroughly. Apparently Nicolas takes after his mother, who died when he was very young. He inherited from her, several other traits. He had surprisingly long eye lashes for a man, a seemingly feminine trait he is sometimes taunted for.

His teeth are almost perfect, all pearly white and we'll taken care of. But one of his top front teeth on the ride side was exceptionally small and far pointier then most canines. He has a smattering of freckles underneath each of his eyes. He has smile lines around his lips and frown lines in between his eyes. He has a habit of furrowing his brow, which has left little divets in between his eyes. He has an arching scars underneath his left eye from a knife wound during high school. When he smiles it's very lopsided, lifting one side of his mouth, opening it only partially. However when he's angry it affects his whole face, resulting in a look that tends to intimidate men quite a bit larger than him.

» Personality: Nicolas is a patient man most of the time, willing to let plans fall into place carefully before acting. He likes to plan for any contingency he can think of. As such he is not really the best with sudden changes or surprises. Not that he can't react quickly mind you, he just hates it. He doesn't like improvisation in the slightest. When confronted with sudden change he attempts to remain calm, but he almost always fails. He becomes intensely angry in both a physical and verbal manner. While he normally won't attack others when angry like this, it happens every once in a while.

He is a curious person who likes to study any subject he gains interest in at length. Due to his father's teachings he does not believe in supernatural beings. Instead he has been tricked into thinking it is simply hyper advanced tech to blame for how the world is. Though lately he has seen things that have begun testing his faith in his father's words. But until he can further explore the subject he would not confront him. He respects and loves his father, but feels like how he operates is too brutal and not precise enough. He believes needless murder is a stupid way to operate, and that he should efficiently kill only those that would best benefit the family.

He is a patient leader most of the time, but he doesn't suffer fools or dissenters. He also hates when innocents are killed during any of his jobs. He has a grand love for ancient or past technologies and cultures. He studies Roman, Greek, and Egyptian culture and mythology at length. He believes much can be gained by preventing history from repeating itself. He has no problem working with others of any walk of life, be they criminal, cop, or commonfolk. Despite being raised in New York City, among the incredibly wealthy he prefers a simple existence and loves the outdoors.

Nicolas may love the outdoors, but he cannot stand high temperatures. He prefers things at a low thirty or forty degrees on average, and keeps his office at this temperature at all times. He also happens to always have a pot of coffee brewing in his office, but he never actually drinks it. While He loves the smell and believes it stimulates the mind, he can't stand the taste of it. Instead he has a huge stock of various brands and flavors of chai tea and hot chocolate, they being his favorite drinks. In fact, food and drinks are the only thing prefers at high temperatures. He can't stand ice cream or anything of the like, saying it hurts his mouth.

Believing one should act and dress as you would like others to perceive you, Nicolas comes off as somewhat obsessive in his desire to keep his thins clean and orderly. One would be hard pressed to find a speck of dust in the entire vicinity of his office or room. What isn't very orderly is his choice of decorating, which is not to say things aren't in order. It's just that his wide and varied, some would say eclectic, tastes lead to little in his office and room matching. He doesn't believe this is wrong, justifying it as how things should be; multiple cultures and various nationalities together as one.

Having an obsession with old weapons, Nicolas has started a bit of a collection with his wealth. He displays a portion of this collection on the walls or in display cases in his office. He also restores and practices with them when he has the chance. Katanas, rapiers, old musket, six shooters, and a set of shurikens are but a few in his collection. Some he has practiced with, others are display only as they are too fragile to restore. He keeps the rest of his collection in a private warehouse and has several on hand antique professionals and consultants. Weapons are not all he collects, also priding himself on a vast ancient art collection. Rugs, paintings, pottery, sculptures, you name it and he's got some of it.

Nicolas is secretly motivated by a desire to make a name for himself, not one he inherited. He feels he lives in his brother and father's shadow and desires to break free from them. Don't doubt his love and admiration for them though, there is no lack of that. In fact, he quite looks up to his brother, more so than his father. He took the "efficient and sensible" approach to crime from his brother. His brother is the only person in the world that Nicolas genuinely considers a role model. Yet he desires to break free of him, become a name all his own. Impressing his brother would happen to be a wonderful side effect of this though.

Nicolas has had few dealings with women in his lifetime, and secretly has a tough time taking to or dealing with them. He has had almost no girlfriends and still happens to be a virgin. This is a taboo topic around him, and makes him visibly uncomfortable or angry, depending on who brought up the subject. This is one of the few subjects he becomes violent over. The other would be loyalty, which he considers vastly important. He has killed a couple of his subordinates for betraying the family, and feels absolutely no remorse over their deaths. In fact he'd kill them again given the opportunity.

Nicolas has several quirks he either doesn't realize he has, or doesn't care if others know. The first is he habitually chews on his lip, never opting for gum instead. It is a miracle his lip does not bleed from it. He can often be found tapping his fingers on just about anything he touches, whether it be a weapon, pen, desk, or his own leg. While this sometimes annoys others, he doesn't seem to notice or care. While he reads, which he does often, he tends to make reactionary noises out loud, to the great displeasure of others. But he rarely reads outside of his office or room, so this is less of a problem.

» Human Capacities


Ability to See Spirits- Nicolas is not yet fully capable of seeing spirits as they are. Instead they are vague and hazy image. His father had convinced him for most of his life these were people behind a kind of cloaking device. But Nicolas is more than mildly skeptical in current times. Although he definitely doesn't suspect supernatural means. Instead he's just curious. Insatiably so.

Analytical - Nicolas is profoundly analytical and attempts to have a contingency plan for every possibility. He however tends to take a moment to adapt to immediate term change, and dislikes improvising in the now. He feels it means he failed to plan well enough prior

Intelligent/Creative - Despite his distaste and initial slow adaptation time he is actually rather good at adapting to most any situation. He simply really hates being forced to. As such he may get mad. While others may see him as mad at what's going on around him, he is deep down, only mad at himself.

Strongwilled - While not the most durable character among the outfit, he is doggedly determined to prove himself. And as such constantly pushes past pain and fatigue to continue doing what needs done, regardless of the detrimental effects.

Skilled Marksman - Since he was able to hold something in his hand, his father had found a way to put a gun in it. He was raised with firearms the way most kids are raised with stuffed animals or pets. A companion that never leaves your side. Granted kids rarely train to safely wield and kill with their pets or stuffed animals. Nevertheless Nicolas has approximately18-19 years of gun toting experience.

Creative Hand to Hand Combat - Despite most things being hated when he must improvise, Nicolas seems to quickly adapt to a close quarters combat situation. He is not in any manner above fighting dirty if he must. And he is more than willing to use anything and everything around him as a weapon. Including other people if possible and necessary.

Weakened Immune System - Due to a lower than average white blood cell count, Nicolas is profoundly susceptible to illness of all kinds. This is in fact, exactly why he prefers to eat healthier than most other mobsters and such. Namely his father.
