Yasuo Ionia [APPROVED; 4-5]
Sun Sep 28, 2014 5:51 pm
Name: Yasuo Ionia
Titles: The Unforgiven
Gender: Male
Appearance Age: Mid-30's
Age: 686 Years Old
Affiliation/Rank: Gotei 13
Appearance Picture:Appearance Description:
- Spoiler:
Yasuo has all the physical characteristics of a warrior. Across the bridge of his nose is a 3 inch long scar he sustained in battle, as well as many more scars across his chest of various shapes and sizes (though most are long and thin due to being cuts). However, scars aren't the only telltale signs on his body of having lived through combat as he also has a few burn marks, very calloused hands and knuckles, etc. Not to mention at any point in time he can be seen with bruises across his chest and arms, and usually has some type of bandage covering an injury he recieced either in actual battle, during spars, or just from training alone.
Yasuo's hair is interesting because while it is black, it also has a slight purplish-blue tint when bright light shines on it, which is usually a result from hair being extremely jet black. He wears his hair in a ponytail higher on his head than most people in order to keep it out of his face at all times. The hair tie used to keep his hair up is a tannish brown color, and pretty thick. When his hair is up like this, it gets to be almost poofy, though that's just because he has very thick hair. His hair is also pretty long, nearing about three feet in length. However, he has a few loose strands of hair as bangs that can move freely because they aren't long enough to be in the pony tail. His eyebrows are sharp, and make him look ferocious and intimidating. His eyes themselves are dark brown, though it's usually difficult to see them because he is nearly always squinting pretty severely. He has very masculine facial features, making him seem even more intimidating.
Yasuo's atire is pretty interesting for a shinigami, as he doesn't wear the typical uniform the species is known for. Instead of large black robes, Yasuo's chest is mostly exposed with the exception of a dull blue piece of clothing worn around his neck that is long enough to extend about a foot down his chest, though because the longer side is actually on the right side of his back, it covers very little on his front. It's also overall shorter on his left side, and pretty much consists only of the part that covers his neck on that side. Around his waist he wears what is essentially a long and thick brown braided rope about 8 feet long, but because it loops around and ties it doesn't seem nearly that long. On his bottom half he wears a pair of blue pants that are slightly puffy, and have stripes running down them of a shade of blue lighter than the rest of the pants.
Yasuo wears quite a bit of armor, though oddly enough none of it covers his chest or most of his legs. This is because he doesn't like to be constricted by armor, so instead he wears it on his arms and lower legs. On both of his arms he wears metal bracers that cover the back of his hands and lower arms that have leather-like straps. Underneath them he wears long blue fingerless gloves, though on his left arm the glove extends all the way up his arm. Speaking of his left arm, Yasuo wears armor on it that covers it from his shoulder to just above his elbow. This armor is scaled and consists of multiple plates that stick out from his arm. On his lower legs Yasuo wears blue metal shinguards that go from just below his knee all the way to his feet, where they are merged with metal sandals that cover the top and bottom of his feet, but are pretty much open so he can have a lot of mobility with his feet and ankles.

Personality:
Quiet: Yasuo is a very quiet shinigami, and almost always refrains from speaking. This is likely because of his experiences in the Maggot's Nest, though he wasn't exactly talkative before he was placed in there. He rarely speaks to other people he comes across, even if he knows them. However, while he may be quiet in social settings and when fighting strangers, certain things in combat can make him talk. If an opponent is bragging or is overall being arrogant, Yasuo is likely to bring them down a few notches both verbally and through fighting. If something particularly ridiculous is said (or, at least, ridiculous to Yasuo), he will usually question it or completely shoot it down.
Ferocious: Due to his past experiences both in and out of the Maggot's Nest, Yasuo very rarely restrains himself in combat and fights with a level of ferocity rarely seen, especially when you consider how quiet and conversationally reserved he is. He isn't the type to avoid attacks that might kill enemies because of virtue or whatever, and especially when it comes to enemies that have commited a crime or have done something that personally offends Yasuo. Yasuo isn't afraid of making a mess in combat either, and is perfectly willing to destroy structures or cause monumental damage to his surroundings if it means causing damage to his opponent. Though more terrifying is how he chases enemies; due to his Zanpakutō's special ability, Yasuo is capable of reliably tracking and chasing fleeing enemies through pretty much anything, and actually will. Even if it means chasing his opponent through enemy territory or through violent or dangerous terrain, he absolutely will chase them until he is able to complete his objective.
Justice-Oriented: Believing his entire point of existence is to repent for his past sins, Yasuo has developed a very strong sense of justice. Or, at least, he has developed the sense of trying to get what is known as justice in order to make up for his past actions. Even if one of his acquintences, bosses, or subordinates commits a crime, he will do absolutely everything in his power to bring them to justice. He is perfectly willing to execute comrades if their crime warrants it, and won't shy away from even dealing justice to those ranked above him. A character trait like this, however, can have some other effects. It's very likely those around him will especially be on edge because of what Yasuo might do if they make a mistake or do something wrong, which makes it difficult for him to form bonds with people. However, he is very rarely interested in doing something like this anyway so he is perfectly fine with people not wanting to or being able to get close to him on a personal level.
Solo: Yasuo really does not like working in teams. One could say he has always been like this, or maybe because he was betrayed he is naturally suspicious of everyone around him. Either way, Yasuo doesn't function well in groups because he may end up undermining the other people involved due to his suspicions of them. It is because of this his superiors tend too assign him to solo missions and operations so he can function at maximum capacity. When he does end up in teams, he'll usually distance himself from the other members and do his own work on his own terms. He's actually finished mission objectives before his teammates even had a chance to attempt them before, which has resulted in both praise and criticism from his peers.
Metaphors: An odd facet of Yasuo's personality is that he doesn't seem to understand the the implied meanings of metaphors. If a person was moving slowly and someone else called them a sloth, Yasuo would probably call them insane and point out that they're actually a person. This...usually, and predictably, results in odd looks from those around him. If someone tries to explain metaphors to him, he will struggle to understand. Not because he's unintelligent but because for some reason this specific personality characteristic doesn't seem to be able to be changed.
Likes: Justice, teriyaki, combat, alone time
Dislikes: Criminals, corruption, alcohol, crowds of people, metaphors

History:
Not much is known about Yasuo's life as a human, and he doesn't remember anything from that long ago anyway. It is believed he was a samurai in feudal Japan who was well known as a skillful warrior and powerful leader, though this is largely speculation at this point. Even if he were to find out what happened during his life, he likely wouldn't really care much anyway. Because of his natural skill with the sword, he believes that if he wasn't a samurai he was some other soldier from medieval times, perhaps in Europe, though his physical attributes (especially his high cheekbones) are more asian in nature. When he first appeared in Soul Society, he was already a full grown man so he likely died in his mid-30's when he was a human.
Before becoming a Shinigami in Soul Society, Yasuo spent a lot of time wandering around the wilderness, looking for some sort of meaning in his life. However, he quickly realized he needed to do the one thing he was naturally accustomed to doing: Combat. So this is when he decided to enroll himself into the shinigami academy. He spent a few years in the academy and passed with average marks. However, this wasn't because he was average. Yasuo actually got fantastic grades in Zanjutsu and physical oriented combat, as well as in solo missions and combat practice, however he was brought down by low grades in Kido because he wasn't interested in it nearly as much as Zanjutsu, Hakuda, Shunpo, etc. After graduating, Yasuo was assigned to the eleventh division due to his fighting skills and aggressive attitude in battle. He started as a low ranked officer, but was able to rise through the ranks by defeating those ranked above him in quick succession.
However, things weren't meant to last as trouble was quickly brewing for Yasuo. Despite being a rather strong Shinigami for his rank, he decided he didn't want to climb any farther because he didn't want more responsibilites and just wanted to fight. Yasuo, being the 5th ranked officer in his division, was soon told by those below him that he should keep trying to get higher and higher in the division. However when he told them he wasn't in the least bit interested, they started trying to provoke him by calling him weak and ambitiousless. When that didn't work, they tried provoking the 4th ranked officer, which caused him to challenge Yasuo to a battle to see who really was stronger. Yasuo declined, telling him that if he needed to prove his power so badly to people weaker than him, then he didn't belong in eleventh division or even the Gotei. This made the officer even angrier, but at first he didn't do anything. He simply bided his time until he could get find an advantageous situation in which he could take revenge.
Eventually, when a group of Hollows attacked all at the same time in a city in Japan, Yasuo and his immediately superior officer, the man who wanted revenge, were dispatched together to take care of this threat. However the other officer had different plans. When they made it to the city, he planned on attacking Yasuo and preventing him from stopping the Hollows so they could kill innocents, and then Yasuo could be blamed for the failure of the mission. What he didn't realize was how much stronger Yasuo had grown since he decided to not go up in rank anymore, making him disproportionately powerful considering he was still the 5th seat officer in his division. When he attacked Yasuo, Yasuo took him down with a single attack, however he went too far and ended up killing him. Not only that but he wasn't able to prevent the Hollows from killing people in time, so even though he did end up eliminating them, when he returned to Soul Society he arrested by officers in the second division because they believed he had causelessly killed his ally during a mission, a mission which went horribly. They threw him in the Maggot's Nest in the moderately secured area, though this wasn't the end of Yasuo's bad luck.
A few years after being put in the Maggot's Nest, a few other inmates decided it would be a good idea to try and start a riot as a way to break out, however they very severely underestimated their opposition. Most of the riot was quickly shut down, however a few individuals were able to keep fighting and causing chaos because they weren't as horribly outgunned by their fellow inmates. One of the inmates ended up causing damage to Yasuo's cell, which caused him to immediately respond the only way he knew how. Yasuo quickly subdued the inmate that caused problems for him, but because an Onmitsukido member believed he was one of the rioters, he attacked Yasuo. However, Yasuo had still grown stronger since initially being imprisoned, and he not only defeated, but killed the Onmitsukido member in what he believed was self defense. When more Omnitsukido members showed up, however, Yasuo gave himself up. This situation resulted in him being placed in the deep high security section of the prison by himself, giving him absolutely no contact with other people. Seemingly like all things in his life, however, this wasn't to last either.
Many many years later, a situation erupted which involved the captain commander of the Gotei 13, named Iriko, blowing the Maggot's Nest wide open, leading to many prisoners escaping in the following confusion and chaos. Yasuo quickly realized he could leave Soul Society and never return, never having to deal with the same problems he used to have, allowing him to completely forget and ignore his past. He could begin anew, and pretty do whatever he wants. However, that's not what he wanted. Yasuo wanted to do the exact opposite of that, he wanted to face justice and face the Gotei 13. Not as an enemy, but as a tool. In order to make up for what he deemed to be heinous crimes in his past, Yasuo wanted to join the Gotei 13 and do what he could to become the swift iron fist of Shinigami justice. So after leaving the Maggot's Nest and reclaiming his Zanpakutō that had been taken from him when he was first put there, he decided to approach the Gotei 13 with an offer to join them.

Zanpakutô Spirit Name: Fujin and Raijin
Zanpakutô Spirit Appearance:
Yasuo actually has two distinct Zanpakutō spirits, though it could be said they are just two separate manifestations of the same being. One is named Fujin, like the Shinto god of wind, and the other is Raijin, like the Shinto god of thunder. They are both very large demonic-looking beings, being well over nine feet tall each. They also have very similar attire, including similar jewelry, and are both barefoot and barechested. They both have similar gray hair and beards. Their main differences include their color; Fujin's skin is a dark green color, and Raijin's skin is a vibrant red color. Fujin's facial features are also sharper and his hair seems wind blasted. Fujin wears a very large bag of wind around his shoulders with an opening on its left and, and Raijin has a series of circular objects held together by a metal connector, and each circle has three tomoe on them.
Inner World:
Fujin and Raijin's inner spiritual world is an extremely vast, empty plain with no plants or anything else living or even resembling living creatures. The ground and terrain is also pretty much black due to being repeatedly struck by massive lightning bolts, which are constantly striking random areas. These bolts can even cause damage to Yasuo when he's in the inner world so he needs to be especially careful. There are also very strong winds constantly blowing across the plains, which is why they are pretty much flat with no hills or anything. The entire world is like this, it's essentially one impossibly large empty plain with a neverending severe thunderstorm.
Sealed Zanpakutô Apperance :
Yasuo's Zanpakutō is relatively simple, at least compared to many other Zanpakutō out there. It resembles a katana, though the blade is thicker, larger, and longer than katana usually are. His Zanpakutō is very nearly six feet in length, giving it a very high range compared to most average swords. On the butt of the hilt is what appears to be either a cloud or a blast of wind, and it is part of the sword's design. Above the hilt is a larger, though similar, design and extends a few inches off the sword. The hilt itself is light brown and appears to be made of wood, and is connected to the other parts of the blade by small metal connectors.
Sealed Zanpakutô Abilities:
Zanjutsu Expert: Yasuo is a naturally gifted swordsman, and there are a few causes of this. It is believed he was a very skilled samurai when he was alive, and his techniques seemed to stick with him even after being sent to Soul Society. He has also trained himself in zanjutsu and swordsmanship styles tremendously because of all shinigami fighting styles, that was what he was most interested in. Yasuo is a swordsman to the bone, and his entire fighting style revolves around swordsmanship, as well as his Zanpakutō's abilities and how he utilizes them. Against most enemy combatants on equal footing power wise to Yasuo, he can almost always outfight them in sword against sword combat. Because he has trained against and with members of the eleventh division of the gotei thirteen, he has also become accustomed to using his sword to fight people who use a variety of weapons, including hammers, maces, axes, etc, giving him a lot of versatility against opponents of all kinds. Yasuo's preferred style of attack is one with swift, powerful slashes because he believes that's how justice should be dealt: Quickly and efficiently.
Speed: Both of Yasuo's Zanpakutō spirits' elements are well known for having speed and movement speed be major parts of their combat styles. While Yasuo is able to move extremely quickly, both with and without shunpo, the main point in battle where is speed is especially noticable is in how quickly he can attack with his Zanpakutō. He is able to slice and stab so quickly his arms and Zanpakutō become nothing less than a barely noticable blur, and he is very easily able to string long series' of slices and swings together with little difficulty. His reflexes are quick enough to allow him to block the vast majority of attacks enemies use on him, giving him an advantage if he is forced to fight defensively.
Physical Strength: Yasuo is very physically powerful in a multitude of ways. He is able to do quite a bit of damage with single punches and kicks, and can rather easily send enemies flying through buildings and the terrain with basic attacks. Yasuo is capable of denting even very durable materials and metals with his fists, making him a dangerous enemy in close quarters combat. However, when he begins using his Zanpakutō he becomes terrifying in comparison. Even if he only puts a moderate level of his strength into a slash with his Zanpakutō or any sword or weapon, he can bring down entire buildings and cause crushing damage. When he swings downward, the pressure from the force of his swing feels like he's increasing the gravity of everything below his sword until he's done swinging. With a fully powered sword swing he is easily capable of causing both lacerations as well as blunt force trauma around the sword.
Target Slash: This is one of Fujin and Raijin's special abilities when Yasuo's Zanpakutō is still sealed. When Yasuo successfully slices or cuts an enemy during combat, that individual is "marked" by Fujin and Raijin. This mark is unnoticable by the afflicted person, and can't be deactivated by normal means. This mark acts as a tracker for Yasuo's Zanpakutō, which allows Yasuo to sense where the person is at nearly all times. This tracker stays on even if the person temporarily disappears, goes invisible, switches dimensions, or even if they somehow delete their own existence. However, this tracker isn't limitles in its capabilities. Its range is ten miles, and while that may be quite hefty, the second the person travels in a millimeter out of the range the tracker immediately disappears. Also, this tracker only lasts four posts so Yasuo has to hit the person again after that time limit is up in order to reapply it. If the person with the tracker goes through a dramatic shift or change in reitsu or spiritual energy, it also disappears. An example of this would be the individual's energy type changing into a different form or a massive increase in overall energy, such as going from a sealed state to a second level release state. What Yasuo particularly enjoys about this ability is because it functions as a way to ensure justice is dealt, as there is no running from the law or the swift hand of justice.
Wind Element: One half of Yasuo's Zanpakutō, Fujin, has a natural affinity for the wind element and even when it is sealed he still has access to a limited portion of this element's power. The main utility Yasuo gains from this element when his Zanpakutō is still sealed is essentially him covering his sword in extremely, extremely sharp blades of wind. What this does is essentially make his Zanpakutō blade's edge much, much sharper than it would otherwise be, allowing him to penetrate even some of the most durable of materials and armors. This wind cannot be manipulated by other people, including other wind and air element users. Yasuo also has the capabiility to send this blade of wind flying at enemies to cut through armor and blockages, and cause devastating damage by sending many out in quick succession. By stabbing his sword fowards, Yasuo is also able to send forth a very sharp and dangerous burst of wind that can pierce targets and cause area-of-effect damage depending on how many energy he puts into it. Yasuo believes his Zanpakutō developed wind abilities because he believes wind represents change and righteousness, both of which he has had to adapt to through his experiences before and after being put in the Maggot's Nest.
Lightning Element: The other aspect of Yasuo's Zanpakutō is Raijin, the half of his inner spirit that uses the element of lightning. While Fujin's wind is all about precision and piercing attacks, and making his attacks more powerful, the lightning element is more useful for more destructive attacks and speed-based boosts instead. On a basic level, Yasuo is able to cover his Zanpakutō in lightning and when he slashes or hits an object or enemy, an electrical explosion occurs that both burns and destroys what it hits. Yasuo can also use electrical pulses to speed up his movement and Zanpakutō slashes, making him even faster. He also has the capability to form small spheres of electrical energy and then launch them at enemies or whatever he decides to target, and cause them to explod on contact or whenever he wishes. These blasts, while not particularly powerful separately, can be launched in great numbers in orde to overwhelm an opponent. While wind may represent change and righteousness, to Yasuo lightning represents how nothing can survive a strong enough lightning strike, in the same way injustice can't survive justice.
Release: Storm Violently, Fujin and Raijin!
Shikai Description: No appearance difference between sealed and shikai.
Shikai Abilities:
Advanced Wind Element: When Yasuo activates his Shikai, he gains access to more power in general, but his wind element capabilities also increase dramatically. The ways he used his wind element when his Zanpakutō was sealed have gained pretty large power boosts, and he's gained new abilities and uses as well. When he envelopes his Zanpakutō in wind, it is now even sharper and powerful with his Shikai acitvated. The blades of wind he can send flying are also sharper and more powerful, and he can also send many more with few issues now. Yasuo's stab attack has also gained increases in both speed and power. There are also a few specific abilities Yasuo gains after activating his Shikai:
- Wind Wall: By concentraing a large amount of wind energy around his Zanpakutō, Yasuo can then swing it from left to right. This sends out a massive amount of wind from his Zanpakutō that forms a wide barrier that pushes out from Yasuo. This barrier serves two purposes: It can deal damage by causing sharp damage to whatever it hits as it moves, and it can also prevent enemies and attacks from reaching Yasuo. This barrier of wind stops moving when it reaches four hundred meters away from Yasuo, then slowly dissipates.
Tornado: Yasuo can charge up his Zanpakutō with a large amount of wind energy, creating a vortex around the blade of the weapon. After doing this, Yasuo can swing his sword and send this vortex off of his Zanpakutō, launching it outwards. The vortex quickly and immediately grows to many times its original size, and quickly speeds up as well to the point where it's faster than even some of the strongest natural tornados. This tornado grows and grows until it's nearly four hundred meters tall and fourty meters wide, and blasts everything around it away as well as tearing apart the vast majority of what it encounters. It keeps going for four hundred meters until it eventually dissipates.
Advanced Electricity Element: Yasuo also gains a boost in his element of electricity as far as both versaility and overall power. His sealed abilities gain boosts in power, speed, and longevity as well. Yasuo can increase his overall speed and his weapon-swinging and attacking speed even further now. The size and power of the electrical explosions from both Yasuo's electric spheres and when he envelops his Zanpakutō in electricity increase by quite a lot. He can send many more electrical spheres than he could before, which allows him to overwhelm enemies more easily as well as combat more opponents. Yasuo also gains a few new specific abilities when his Shikai is activated:
- Volt Movement: Normally Yasuo can use his electrical element to speed his body up so he can both move faster and attack faster, but in Shikai Yasuo is able to push this to a new form. Yasuo is essentially able to turn all of his molecules and his Zanpakutō into pure electrical energy controlled by him and him only, shoot forward very quickly, and then turn back to normal. Due to how much faster electricity is, this allows him to cross very large gaps of space very quickly as well as prevent himself from being injured by normal means. However, because this can be taxing if used repeatedly and in quick succession, Yasuo usually only uses it twice in a row and with at least a small gap in time between when he uses it.
[strike]Bankai Description: The appearance of Fujin and Raijin remain largely the same after Yasuo activates his Bankai, however the two spiritual beings essentially split into separate physical entities. Fujin encompasses the normal Zanpakutō Yasuo has when it's sealed or in Shikai form, and Raijin encompasses Yasuo's armor and a much smaller tanto sized blade Yasuo can make appear or disappear.
Bankai Abilities:
Massive Power Boost: When Yasuo activates his Bankai he gains a massive overall boost in power. First off, his amount of spiritual energy and pressure increase dramatically, making it rather difficult for those around him to even move or breathe. His power increases to such a level that the terrain around him will begin to be affected, which usually involves physical buildings being crushed under the weight of his reitsu and chunks of earth being ripped from the ground and pulled upwards. Yasuo becomes much more physically powerful with his Bankai, allowing him to do much more damage both unarmed and armed. Swinging his Zanpakutō alone is enough to bring down multiple buildings or tear through an entire city block. His overall speed is also boosted by quite a bit, allowing him to both move and attack much faster than he could with his Zanpakutō in just the sealed state or Shikai form.
Master Wind Element: With the activation of Yasuo's Bankai comes a huge boost in his wind element. Because Raijin is separated from the main Zanpakutō, Yasuo is able to concentrate a lot more wind energy into his primary weapon and cause more devastating wind-based damage with it. His wind blade becomes even sharper, leaving very few possible defenses that can withstand even basic attacks from his Zanpakutō. Yasuo can unleash even more barrages of wind blades now, and each individual blade can be made both larger and stronger than previously. His lunge attack does much more damage too and also gains a large boost in speed as well. Yasuo's Wind Wall becomes more powerful and faster as well, as does his Tornado technique. He also gains new abilities
- Cyclone Vacuum: When Yasuo activates his Bankai, he gains something he didn't have before: A defensive wind element-based ability. However, this isn't like an armor ability or a shield ability, this functions more like a mirror-type defensive technique. By creating a small vortex off the tip of his Zanpakutō, Yasuo can "catch" and "suck" enemy attacks into it like a vacuum. Possible attacks this works on includes techniques like an Arrancar's Cero, Kido, and physical objects/attacks. After sucking something in, Yasuo can whip his Zanpakutō to the side and launch whatever it caught in whatever direction Yasuo wants.
- Supermassive Tornado:[/b] This ability, while slightly similar to his normal Tornado ability, is actually much different in functionality. Instead of making a tornado with his Zanpakutō and launching it at his enemy, Yasuo instead creates an absolutely massive kilometer-wide tornado with him in the center. This tornado also grows to a much taller height than his other tornado technique, nearing two kilometers in height alone. The winds also travel extremely quickly, fast enough to even tear apart the ground below it and the sky above it. The main purpose of this technique isn't necessarily offensive, as it could also be considered defensive in nature as well. Whenever an opponent uses a ranged attack or element of some sort, it is immediately pulled away from the user and into the extremely powerful winds. This tears the energy or physical attack apart, and makes it very difficult for an enemy to successfully use a ranged attack on Yasuo while inside the tornado.
Master Electricity Element: In the same way Yasuo gains a boost to his wind element when he activates his Bankai, he also gains a dramatic boost with his electrical element. All of his old abilities are now strengthened, and he even gains new ones. The electric spheres are much stronger now and can travel even faster after being launched. Their explosions are larger and more dangerous too, and when he attacks enemies with his Zanpakutō the electric explosion does more damage. His electrical speed up is also much faster now, allowing him to cross even greater distances even quicker now. Volt Movement also moves him quicker, and because of his increase in energy he can now use it much more often and in quicker succession. Due to Raaijin being separated from Fujin and put into his armor and smaller blade, Yasuo can do much more damage with his physical attacks because both of his bracers can be enveloped in electrical energy and transferred to enemies on contact. He also gains a new technique:
[list][*]Thunder Storm: Believed to be Yasuo's strongest electrical element based ability in Bankai, and for good reason. This ability pushes his usage of the element of electricity to a whole new level. By concentrating as much electricity in his body as possible, Yasuo can then send it all into the sky in one huge violent burst. This burst of electrical energy then forms essentially a blanket in the sky miles above the ground. After this happens, random bursts of electricty form bolts of energy that rain down from the sky, repeatedly striking the ground and any enemies nearby. On contact these bolts explode into very large bursts of energy, causing massive wanton destruction all across the battlefield. Yasuo is immune to these lightning strikes, and can actually use them for something else. By drawing a bolt into his Zanpakutō, Yasuo can then release it either through his Zanpakutō itself by slashing his opponent, or by launching the energy with more precision than when it comes from the sky. The more bolts he absorbs with his Zanpakutō, the more powerful his Zanpakutō becomes, which means he could actually suck in tens if not hundreds of bolts into his weapon and then cause massive destruction with it. However, the Thunder Storm only lasts for seven posts so he can't keep doing this endlessly.

Roleplay Sample:The best stories are written in blood, not ink. But I think I would've preferred this be written in someone else's blood.....
"You should've just accepted my damn challenge! Now because you are too hard-headed, and arrogant, I have to kill you! Meanwhile these Hollows are gonna end up killing people, so I hope you blame yourself asshole!!
"This didn't need to happen. Time to get your wish."
In the middle of a large feudal town, there was one particularly large and ornamental building that stood out from the rest. This building was nearly eighty feet tall, a deep crimson in color, and had scaled roofs every ten feet or so as though someone had taken normal houses and stacked them on top of eachother. This building overlooked the rest of the town, a town which had been known as the City of Quiet because despite constant warfare between various warlords all across the entire island, this place had seemingly avoided it all and had stayed peaceful. This meansmany of the people living here were innocent of war and just lived their lives in tranquility. However, this was soon to be interrupted.
Near the comparably large building in the center of town, strange occurences had happened. Multiple very large, all black monster-like beings wearing massive white masks had appeared out of what some might call a black hole, though in reality it was something known as a Garganta. This is how beings like these Gillian class Hollows could travel to the living world from their homeland Hueco Mundo, the endless white desert. These were dark creatures borne of the evil and shadows in people's spirits. They rampage and destroy, and that's all they're good for. Humans can't stop them, they can't even see them much less combat them. However, there is somebody who can face them as equals. These beings are known as death gods....Shinigami.
Sent to dispatch these hideous creatures of darkness were two such Shinigami, both standing on top of the tallest and greatest building of the town. Both were men of great might, however neither of them were even paying attention to the great behemoths about to begin destroying the innocent City of Quiet. Instead, their eyes were on only each other as they were both each other's greatest obstacle right now. Both were clad in long black robes that covered them from neck to toe, and both had their hands gripped firmly on the hilts of their swords. However, there was one major difference between them; one seemed positively furious and seemingly ready to burst at any moment, and the other seemed to be possessed by a sense of calm matched only by the unknowing city below. The calmer of the two was Yasuo, a swordsman of some renown from the homeland of both these men, while the other was, surprisingly enough, his direct superior in the military organization they both belong to.
The enraged man was ready to strike with all of his might, which was blatantly obvious from the fact that he had already released the power of the weapon in his hand, his Zanpakutō. His initial release state, or Shikai, seemed to make his Zanpakutō change form slightly as it grew in length until it was nearly eight feet long and also grew much thicker so instead of seeming like a normal sword, it was as if it had been hit by a grow-ray. Frankly, it's wielder looked tiny in comparison. Leaning down slightly, the man suddenly launched himself at the other Shinigami he seemed to hold nothing but contempt for. He very quickly crossed the gap between he two men, and once he came in range of Yasuo he slashed his Zanpakutō down with all of his might. The sheer amount of power he put into this attack was enough to weaken the roof they stood on, bringing it very close to the point of collapse. However, all did not seem to go well for the man...
The angry Shinigami's sword had somehow been stopped mid-swing by something, something he never thought would be able to do this. Looking straight into his eyes was Yasuo who was holding his own Zanpakutō with a single hand above his head, his sword and arm not even slightly shaking from the pressure being brought down upon him. A fire burned in Yasuo's eyes the likes of which this other man had never seen before, and for just a second he was afraid for his life. He was afraid because he saw what this man he was trying to kill was capable of, and what he was willing to do. Unfortunately for him, he didn't even have enough time to beg forgiveness before Yasuo's response. With just a bit of force applied, Yasuo knocked the man's sword away and in one swift movement he bent down slightly and launched himself forward, disappearing for a fraction of a second only to reappear ten or so feet away. Seemingly nothing had happened except the other shinigami was completely frozen still as though he couldn't move.
Yasuo flicked his wrist, which seemed to send an unknown liquid on his blade onto the ground. After he did this, he quickly replaced his Zanpakutō safely back into its sheath. Without warning, a spurt of blood suddenly shot out of the other man's chest along a massive laceration going from his right hip to his left shoulder. Within the same second of this happening, he collapsed to the ground. However before he even hit the ground, he had stopped breathing...for he was already dead. He had died instantly actually. Yasuo had just moved so quickly it took a few seconds for his physical body to react to being sliced through. After he fell to the ground, Yasuo bowed his head slightly and closed his eyes in utter silence.Must my life always be written by the blood of others...? For what...?
