» Personality:
Loyal: Once someone manages to make friends with Ren, she's not likely to ever let a call for help of any kind go unanswered. She values her friends dearly, especially since several of them are simple Humans with no real power of their own to speak of. This value was taught to her by her mother, who would go out of her way to help her own friends, even if it inconvenienced her.

Tomboy: While yes, Ren is very much female, she tends to dress and act more like a male, even displaying an amount of bravado and confidence in her own abilities that rivals some Shinigami. The confidence stems in large part from the fact that her teacher is a part of her, sealed within her by her own hand at his guidance.

Curious: While she won't necessarily go out of her way for this, anything new intrigues Ren. She's more likely to chit chat with an Iramasha or a Demon during a fight than simply obliterate them where they stand. This adds to the illusion of arrogance that she portrays, but furthers her own capabilities to combat those that would threaten the living.

Naive: She doesn't get innuendo. She just doesn't. It makes absolutely no sense to her, and she takes anything said to her at absolutely face value. She grew up devoting herself to her training, and never really took the time to even DEVELOP an interest in relationships.

» History: Ren was born and raised the first six years of her life by her single mother, Aya Haiyato. Her aunt Imari helped out with raising her, due to her mother having to work to support them. So she grew up initially very girly, anything she wanted she got, if not by her mother getting it, then her aunt did. However, on her fourth birthday, a small toy bow showed up wrapped in pure white paper with a blue ribbon making a cross pattern.

Her sixth birthday was rather interesting, as her father finally turned up after being out of touch with her mother the entire time she'd been alive so far. Arguments ensued between the two, but an agreement was made that he was allowed to visit with her every other week. It turned out that he was the one that had sent the bow to her. He was amazed to learn that the young girl he had helped bring into this world still had that bow, in just as good a condition as if it had just been bought.

She grew up even happier at that point, if a little confused and questioning why her parents didn't get along. But she never complained, always happy to see both of them whenever they were around. Her father stayed close and stayed in touch, moving into an apartment a few miles away from her mother's home.

When she was eleven, things started to go a little weird. She began to get the sensation of things she couldn't see, things around her everywhere she went. Her father wasn't surprised, and revealed that he was a Chi User, an awakened Human with a grasp on all things spiritual. He also explained that, while he himself did not have the potential, that his family had once been a fairly powerful Quincy family, explaining what that meant to her in the same way he had been taught: by stories told to him when he was young by his father.

He began to teach her how to hone this innate sense of the spirits in the only way he knew, taking her to places he knew they frequented. Everything went smoothly, to the point where she could actually point out where the spirits were at least in a general area.

However, when she was fifteen, he took her to the site of a house fire, a place he himself was allowed to go on his authority as an officer of the law within the city where they lived. There, to her perception, a large... something proceeded to smash him aside like he was a tiny doll and come right at her. Out of fear, out of terror, she shrunk back against the wall, her hand out in front of her hoping it might stop whatever this was.

A minor pop, a small flash of light, and the presence was gone, vanishing into the ether with an otherworldly scream that no one else seemed to hear. Her father stared in shock, and so did she, at the glimmering bow of light that faded after only a few seconds.

When he got her home, he handed her an old, battered journal, a tome that had once belonged to his father's grandfather's grandfather, the last person in the family to show the Quincy powers, Misato Hyakuji. In it were the training methods for the basics of Quincy combat, as well as an encoded message that would lead to a cache of Quincy tools that would make the learning just a bit easier.

Once she'd decoded it, which took the better part of another year, she had her father drive her out to the location, which turned out to be an old, run-down, ruined shinto temple. She went in alone, because the message had specified that she would never find what she was after if she didn't. When she had gotten into the bowels of the temple, a spirit shimmered into sight, congratulating her.

He went on to tell her that he was in fact the writer of that book, reciting a few of the key sections when she scoffed, turning to call her father. A long conversation ensued, where he explained what it meant to be a Quincy, the last in a long line of powerful ones. It took some convincing, as well as much cajoling on her part, but he agreed to teach her, but said that there was only one way to ensure that she learned it all properly.

He walked her through a ritual he himself had gone through to bind himself to the book, coaching her in transferring the binding to her own soul, her own heart, taking his soul into herself. When that was complete, he guided her to the base of an altar, crumbled and broken, beneath which lay a long case. Inside were several implements used by Quincy, as well as a smaller box containing a blue and white glove, which he told her she might not ever need, but only to use it if she did need it, explaining the purpose of the Sanrei Glove.

She came out with the box, not saying anything to her father in the way of explanation of what had just transpired, but explained that within the box were things that would help with her own training. She remained quiet during the return trip, at least to her father's ears, instead conversing inwardly with her new 'passenger'.

The next three years passed quietly, with her finding ways to practice with the new bangle she now wore around her right wrist, practicing with manifesting the bow under the guidance of her teacher, and testing herself against Lesser Hollows that had just been born. When she was 18, and graduated, she made her father sit up and take notice.

She immediately applied to join the police department right alongside him, stating that if she was to carry this power within herself, she would ensure that she had a chance to use it to protect other people.

She passed the trials and tests and interviews with flying colors, though it took the better part of a year for all the paperwork to go through. But once she did, she threw herself into the work with a gusto, often volunteering for the graveyard shifts just for a chance to be out when a Hollow or some other nasty spirit attacked. Things have gone this way for four years since then, with her spending every spare waking moment drilling herself, practicing with the bow, and discussing things with the spirit bound inside her.

» The Spirit's Written Appearance: When manifested, Misato appears as a 70-something year old man, balding, with a perfectly groomed Fu Manchu style mustache and goatee. Dressed in traditional martial arts gi in white, even the spirit has color when it manifests, due to extremely potent spiritual potential from his living years. He only stands just shy of 5 feet tall, but has a very striking presence for those that can see him.

» The Spirit's Personality:
Kind: A grandfather even before he died, Misato has a soft spot for young people, always willing to lend them a hand. This trait is, in large part, the reason he had his spirit bound to his journal, so that he could remain in this world to teach any future generations of Quincy in the old ways, so they could make an informed decision on whether they wished to follow that path, or the newer paths that he was sure would arise some day.

Stoic: Misato prided himself in life on his ability to remain calm in a crisis. Even when Ren is getting upset or worried, Misato remains that voice of calm in the depths of her soul, warning her against the dangers of letting your passions control you.

Patient: Even as a spirit, Misato has an abundance of patience, able to teach even the most recalcitrant of students. He has it slightly easier with Ren, as the blood is there, and she has proved a more than capable learner. But even the concepts she doesn't quite grasp, he's always willing to discuss with her.

» The Spirit's History: Misato Hyakuji was the third child in the seventh generation of Hyakujis to have the capabilities of a Quincy. Though they had lost most of their numbers in the purge, they were still clinging tightly to the belief that Quincy and Shinigami could work together. Misato was raised from an early age to have a healthy respect for the Reapers in Black, and only assist when his help could mean the difference between victory and defeat for them.

Misato was only the fourth in his family line to find a way to adapt the Heilig Pfeil to purify rather than destroy Hollows it struck, and attempted to teach his two older siblings the same method. But hard-nosed old-liners that they were, they ridiculed him for his choice. He didn't care, and continued to purify rather than destroy any Hollow he could come across, oftentimes dealing with a Hollow threat even before the Shinigami arrived.

As he grew older, he developed several secret techniques for his own arrows, techniques most Quincy now believe to be lost, due to his having no Quincy capable heir to pass them down to. However, he took steps to ensure that his knowledge was not lost.

As he neared his one hundredth birthday, he began preparations, sanctifying the old journal he had kept since he was fifteen, with all his techniques and knowledge recorded inside. When he was on his deathbed, he had his daughter and granddaughter perform a ritual that, as his soul fled his body, captured it and instilled it into the book with all the protections against corruption and decay they could muster.

When the ritual was complete, the book was passed to his eldest son, and carried through the generations, father to son, until it reached Ren's hands. When she decoded the instructions, Misato felt his time had finally come, and taught his descendant the ritual that would bind him, instead, to her, so that he might better pass on the knowledge he had obtained in life.

» Unique Traits:
Slightly Increased Reiryoku Capacity: This doesn't help her MANIPULATE Reishi and Reiryoku, instead giving her more of her own innate reserves, due to the inner spirit being able to mainpulate both as well. (Can fire 1 extra arrow beyond normal capability for comparable skill)

» Forms:
Bilden die ersten: Seele Mitteilung (Form the First: Soul Release): The first step in unlocking the power inside, Bilden die ersten is the simplest of the forms. Silver tips begin to appear through her hair, and her eyes shade over to a deeper almost mahogany brown. Her bow also takes on a purple tinge, sparking every so often in harmless discharges of electricity. The primary effect is that her shots now have a chance to momentarily throw someone off step (split second stun/paralysis) if their own will is not strong enough.

Bilden die zweite: Seele stärken (Form the Second: Soul Reinforce): Under the effects of Bilden die zweite, Ren's Bow ceases to be a bow. She instead fires out simple blasts with the same speed and frequency as she can fire arrows from her Bow. In addition, in this form her hair is streaked through with silver, her eyes turning from bright honey gold to a blue so dark it's almost black. Now, her shots add a small area blast to their impact zone, but nowhere near as large as the Ginto techniques. (small blast, can add knockback or knockup effect)

Bilden die dritte: Seele ausbrechen (Form the Third: Soul Eruption): A pseudo-Vollstandig, Bilden die dritte is nothing so much as a switch between Ren's own Spirit, and her Inner Spirit. Hair now completely silver, and eyes a silvery blue, her Bow now becomes fully material, though only for a short duration (Number of Posts = Host Control Over Spirit rating+2 (Beginner grants 3, Adept 4, etc.) This time CANNOT be extended, but during Bilden die dritte, her Inner Spirit has full control over her body, and can make use of his own knowledge with snap second quickness.

» Drawbacks: If Ren uses Bilden die dritte, then she loses all access to combined powers for an extended period of time (minimum of three topics of at LEAST two pages in duration). Even the spirit within won't answer her, no matter how loudly she calls. At this point, her only weapons will be those that she has innately.

Use of Bilden die zweite will cause Ren to lose access to all abilities above Zweite, leaving her locked into Ersten or nothing for a short period. (one topic, MUST reach second page). Her spirit will still answer, but will not be nearly as energetic.

Bilden die ersten can only be used once a thread, and it will leave her fatigued when she comes out of it, slower to react and fire, as her body attempts to readjust to her normal amounts of Reishi and Reiryoku.

» Control: 7; While Ren and her Spirit have a civil agreement, sometimes he will come to the forefront unasked, usually in order to save her life from something she is not aware of. When this happens (usually during Bilden die dritte), Ren cannot seize control back, she must wait for the Spirit to finish its task.
