	Shinō Academy Originally known as the Genji School begun by Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto 2,100 years ago, the Shin’o Academy is the starting point of all Shinigami. All who are capable of fulfilling the minimum requirements are enrolled here in order to learn the various branches of their duties and techniques, all given an Asauchi and placed in classes for an average of six years. The Seireitei is in the center of Soul Society, which is a circular shiro with four main entrances, each guarded by a Gate Guardian. The walls of Seireitei are made of stone called Sekkiseki (Spirit Reducing Stone), a material similar to magnetic lodestones known to negate all Reiryoku. The stone also forms a spherical barrier around the city which stops anything spiritual from breaching it.
